    Red Dead Redemption 2 combines many of my favorite things in video games. A great main lead, gripping story, fun and deep characters, a fantastic and detailed world to get lost in... the list keeps going on.

    I have played through the game twice so far, going so far as to "triple dip" On a PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, and now of course a mighty PC. Each of my playthroughs I seem to find    Red Dead Redemption 2 combines many of my favorite things in video games. A great main lead, gripping story, fun and deep characters, a fantastic and detailed world to get lost in... the list keeps going on.

    I have played through the game twice so far, going so far as to "triple dip" On a PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, and now of course a mighty PC. Each of my playthroughs I seem to find something new. A new area a missed or new character I just did not see. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous, from small details like snow setting on trees only to be brushed off as you pass by to wildlife acting like, well, like wildlife! It all helps pull you into this fantastic world.

    And while the world might pull you in, the characters and story keep you HOOKED throughout the lengthy playtime. I was always left guessing where Arthur and his band of misfits would end up next.. it would always surprise me and, at times, break my heart. (no spoilers)

    Gameplay consists of your player character, Arthur Morgan, going on missions in the varied open world much like a Grand Theft Auto game. Except swap cars for horses and a city for wilderness with some civilization throughout. You accept these missions by walking up to a character (whom I can pretty much all name based on looks given their distinct personality, a rare feat for me) and talking to them.
    Gunplay is a typical third person shooter with some specific features like the infamous Dead Eye which slows down the game for you to line up, and eventually target, better more accurate shots to specific body parts. You can also customize your looks AND guns through different shops in the game. Allowing you to tailor Arthur to your playstyle.

    In conclusion Red Dead Redemption 2 is, in my humble opinion, a masterwork of worldbuilding, story, and technical artistry. And while I understand some do not like the slower way the game is paced compared to Grand Theft Auto V, to me this game shines in pretty much all departments.

    Red Dead Redemption 2 for me deserves all the accolades it has received and of course deserves a:

    10 out of 10.

    I've got I-7 8700k, RTX2060, and ssd disk, so i have 60 fps for ultra graphic settings, in full hd. No fps dropping, no freezes, no other b*llsh*t. In my situation, the game is very good, and optimization is fine. I don,t understand people, who hate the game and submit 0/10. Wait for the patches, i think 1 or 2 days, and you can play with me.

    The game is a masterpiece that deserves a perfect 10. I understand why some people are annoyed by the "tedious" animations and whatnot, but for a gamer like me it's just the perfection. The game's graphics are as beautiful as its mechanics. I just love to watch Arthur skin the animals, eat soup, make coffee. I love that I have to change my outfits, pick up your hat, shave.
    And the STORY!    The game is a masterpiece that deserves a perfect 10.     When I was a kid, this is what I imagined games in the future would look like. What's truly wonderful about RDR2 is that is is alive. It is dynamic from its story, to the game-play, to the world.

    If you like long single player games like GTA, I struggle to see how this game could have been much better. Its ticked so many boxes, and been such a mesmerising journey of stunning visuals and stellar gameplay, with the best story telling I have EVER experienced in a game, I really cant give it less than a 10. Its one of those few games I feel I cant afford not to play, not to finish, notIf you like long single player games like GTA, I struggle to see how this game could have been much better.     I only started playing the single player four years after release and was impressed by how good it was. Compared to other open worlds this one feels lived in, from NPC chatter, realistic small towns and cities, the physics and weather engine to flora and fauna, it is an example of how an open world should be constructed in video games.

    The story keeps you interested, characters have depth and are likeable (or not) and the game keeps you entertained for at least over 40 hours. If you want to complete everything you can easily spend over 100 hours.

    With open world games feeling empty and more like a checklist full of icons that you work off one by one this is a prime example of how it should be done and deserves its place in the top 10 of the best games made to date.    … Expand

    I'm writing this review because it's just not fair to see this game user score here. 4.5 coming from people that were early adopters and had issues with the game, or others that expect their 2016 flagship GPUS and 10 year old quad cores, to take this game at ultra settings with 100 fps+.
    First, this is the best looking game on PC, period. Nothing like this has been made until now. So,    I'm writing this review because it's just not fair to see this game user score here. 4.5 coming from people that were early adopters and had issues with the game, or others that expect their 2016 flagship GPUS and 10 year old quad cores, to take this game at ultra settings with 100 fps+.
    First, this is the best looking game on PC, period. Nothing like this has been made until now. So, being so sophisticated graphically, with some very taxing features, it's normal that at some settings even a 2080ti struggles. It was the same with GTA5, remember???This is not lack of optimization, it's more like the game pushing the graphics forward. In one or two years, new GPUs will handle it just fine. Don't be lazy, use the optimization guides on youtube and you can play this game at 60+fps no problem and still looking better then it's console counterpart.
    Second, I've been reading about a lot of crashes, people being unable to play it, but this was back in November. Ok, I get it, it's not a pleasure to pay a premium to have a game that doesn't work day one. But have some patience, one month later almost everything got fixed up. I never had one crash in the last month since I bought it. This game is massive and it's not easy to make it behave perfectly since the beginning, because we have so many combinations of computer parts and software in our systems.

    Putting all this aside, the game is gorgeous, has a great gameplay, it's incredibly immersive, lots of things to do and a lot to learn about (SUA 1899). There is nothing really I can complain about it, I just don't want it to ever finish.    … Expand

У игры было куча багов, недооптимизация. Сейчас игра отлично работает. Сюжет нравится, перестрелки отличные, но как же бесит охота в этой игре. Одного сраного барсука не мог два дня выследить.     Okay so let me start of by saying that we have 2 game pc's here. one bought this year and one five years old. The game would not even start on the older one. It would just crash on startup no matter what I tried to fix it.
    As I was at the point of refunding it, I tried to install it on the new pc (my gf's pc, yes she has a better rig then me, in my defense I bought it for her with her    Okay so let me start of by saying that we have 2 game pc's here. one bought this year and one five years old.     This is, hands down, the most beautiful, most finished, interactive open world game I've ever played.
    When it works, It's just stunning. The way the world is alive with great characters with depth, the way you naturally bond with your horse... It's just amazing.

    You eat, drink, sleep, get dirty and get to choose how you want to live your cowboy life. Be the good guy, the bad guy, something in the middle. It's up to you and all your actions seem to affect the world and how people interact with you.

    So yeah, I get people 0 bombing this game with reviews for not being able to play it and rockstar is the devil for forcing there own crappy game launcher, but the game itself deserves a straight up 10!    … Expand

    Firstly i got it day one and with zero problems i7-4790k, gtx980-ti, 16gb ram.
    This game is gaugouse on pc im running the game on high/ultra at 90-100fps at 144htz on 1080p.
    Just purely an Amazing game Experience 10/10

    The launcher and the online are ass at the moment, but the story mode is very awesome and epic not gonna lie, if you want a serious and realistic wild west game then red dead redemption 2 is definitely the game you're looking for

    They say the game is slow but I think the game time is ideal to focus on personalities and motivation, I will play the game for more than 65 hours just telling the story mode, without the secondary missions

    RDR2 on pc is super enjoyable . graphic on pc if set to maximum you think is movie because lighting , shadow , water quality and distance are super realistic in pc version but game has some bugs on pc version but hopefully fix in future .

    Наконец-то игру более-менее починили и теперь она играбельна в сингле. Лучший симмулятивный мир из всех что я видел. Приятно просто ездить по дорогам и наслаждаться пейзажами.

    pinacle of gaming on generation 8 of gaming this game proff that cd red project that there full of **** if rdr2 can run on ps4 or xbone cp2077 should be able to run on ps3 or xbox360, i play on gtx 965m i "think" it equivelant to 1050 (correct me if i wrong) even at low 30 fps and 900p it still enjoyable this proff crunch if utilies properly actually can make a master piece

Отличная история, шикарная графика, анимации. Взаимодействие с миром на высоте. Мне совершенно не надоедала езда на лошади. Красивейшие локации.

    I had no problem with it on PC and PS4. Great graphics, great musics, great combat, great mechanics, physics and storytelling with good amount of other well polished details.

    The graphic is simply 10 step above everything and there is just so much solid work that it has to be awarded. The only thing that ruins the game are the pieces of woke culture which have been visibly enforced withing the game, likely to comply with the laws.     How can u score low for this game. Guys, do you really prefer **** by EA, Ubi, Act-blizzard?

    Plays best on PC had none of the issues people seem to be having, had 3 updates since release runs amazing on my 9900k+2080ti build definitely recommend this game easy 10/10 must buy!!!!

    I finally played RDR2 and my mind was blown. The story of Arthur was absolutely amazing and the relationship between each character was amazing. The environment and the graphics are extremely realistic and the effects are amazing. Right now I'm off to grinding red dead online.

    After a bad launch in pc, the game itself is a masterpice, there's barely bad things to say about it apart from it's difficulty as It's a very easy so it makes some fights boring and you won't use most of your food, however the amount of good things this game has, makes it almost perfect

    As to be expected from rockstar singleplayer games its is a well crafted highly polished very long lasting experience that takes you onto a great immersive journey through the good ol wild west.
    The world is massive and filled to the brim with detail, the towns and cities feel lively and the forrest are full of animals so nothing feel barren or empty, there are hundreds of main missions and even side missions so the game will keep you busy for quite some time and over the course of that time you will greatly bond with the main character and his story. Overall for the story alone I cannot recommend this game enough, it really is a must play title like the Witcher 3 for example and everyone that is able to should get their hands on it.

    While I said that I will only take the game and story itself to base my score I still want to address the other issues with the game, yes the PC launch was botched and the game struggled for months with crashes, poor performance and many PC related bugs which since then have mostly been fixed now.
    Nonetheless it has to be addressed how rockstar deals with these issues in general which is mostly a whole lot of silence, I love their games and they are usually greatly polished and well made games but their terrible business practices cannot go on like that, it is simply unacceptable to treat your customers like that!

    I said its hard to decide on how to rate this game but I think it would not be fair to give this game a bad review based on how badly the publisher handled the last few months, its not the games nor the devs fault and thus I decided to give it a 10/10 because if you look past the technical issues this truly is an amazing game that will be remembered for years to come!    … Expand

    The best game of my life, and the best protagonist of my life, i think I'll never able to play any other game never again. Arthur was so human, and he was a good man, we can even call him a hero, his redemption changed my life. This game CHANGED my life.

    Easily the best game I've played this year! From robing trains to collecting debts everything is fun. The graphics are gorgeous and the characteers are interesting.

I get around 40 fps in 4k running a couple of settings on ultra and most on high. 40 frames is fine for me since I tend not to notice much of a difference compared to higher rates. A few of the very resource intensive options turned off but it looks fantastic and I don't experience any issue with the graphics. Many people said that this game is poorly optimized, but it isn't, yes, it has some problems, but they started to solve them, and few of them got fixed, at the moment, the game is perfectly playable.     The game works great. I only played for 10 minutes, unfortunately the charms of adulthood do not allow me to play today, but from Friday I start the marathon with RDR2.

    Well I'm very glad to say, as far as I'm concerned, there hasn't been a bump in the road yet. The game has run smoothly from the first time that I launched it. There have been no issues at all, no crashes. The game looks great, with moderately high settings. Admittedly, I have only played two hours, in Story Mode. Most people who've had problems were saying they'd had them right from the start, though. But maybe it's different if you play Online -- I wouldn't know, because I don't care at all about online play.

    Exactly what I'm running :
    Windows 10 Home, 64 bits.
    Core i7-4770.
    16 Gb of DDR-3 RAM.
    1x ASUS GTX-1070 Dual.
    My Mo-bo is a proprietary Acer piece of garbage. (My whole setup is based on a prebuilt PC that I tricked out. It involved making myself a custom adapter for the weird 12-pin power-supply connector, and switching the power-supply out for a 550W unit to power the GPU. It's a bit frankenstein-ey but it works. And the prebuilt unit was pretty cheap for the parts it contained...)

    I installed the latest Nvidia drivers before I ever ran the game, and you probably should too. Software-wise, I should also point out that I'm not running any special anti-virus protection. Just Windows Defender has always been plenty for me. Also, in case that's ever relevant, I bought the game from Rockstar Games Launcher directly.

    Once the game started, I did have to "Alt-Tab" my way to a pop-up window asking me to set an exception in Windows Firewall for the game -- The game didn't stop running, but as I saw it flash by, I figured I might as well go ahead and allow it right then and there. Then it loaded fine, I adjusted the gamma setting, and I was on my merry way !

    Game settings :
    1920x1080 @ 60 fps
    V-Sync on.
    I went with what the game recommended. Most settings are on "High" -- some are on "Ultra", some are on "Medium". I did decrease the water physics a bit, and upped some other things that I can't remember now.
    Crucially, I disabled motion blur (which has never been worth it in my book), and MSAA (because why would you) but I did allow FXAA (it's lightweight and makes a difference for me).

    I would say that the game keeps up a good 60 fps, and it certainly never dips below 45. So for my money, this is waaay more than playable -- it's gorgeous, it runs smoothly, and so far, I love it.

    I wanted to share this because the ever-dipping meta-critic user score on here today had me worried. People seemed to be saying that it was an awful PC port, that it was unplayable, or ridden with crashes and unfixed bugs. Well so far that has not been the case for me. As for the optimisation I don't know what the issue would be. This game's graphics, with the settings I'm running, is at least on par with the other games I run on my setup, with similar graphics settings. I'd even say it looks better than, say, AC Odyseey or Witcher 3. So Maybe the lesson here is : have realistic expectations. Maybe you won't be hable to run this at a 4k resolution, with everything on Ultra, with a GTX-1060. But your setup can be a little out-dated (as mine is), and it will still handle this beautifully. Of course, I don't know what it looked like on consoles, maybe by running these modest game settings, my game looks no better than the console version. But I don't have a console, so it's still worth it for me to play this game.

    To sum up : somewhat out-dated hardware, no special software hacks. Latest drivers. Game runs like a charm at a reasonable framerate, with reasonable settings, and is very enjoyable. For me, that's a 10/10. For now.    … Expand

    My biggest warning to anyone considering purchasing RDR2 on PC is that you need to have patience when you set it up. Take the time to go through each graphics option, compare your performance on Vulkan vs. DirectX 12, and tailor the game to your specs. Once you have the game tuned, there’s no better way to experience it than on PC.
