LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jan 22, 2024The successful port brought a game to PC that simply isn't available on Steam or the Epic Game Store. Seriously, you just can't get a game like this on PC. Accessible, entertaining in every aspect, funny, cleverly written and acted, audiovisually awesome. This is a AAA production with everything you expect from it. [Issue#329]

Jul 31, 2023Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart finds its fullest expression on the mid-end to high-end PC, delivering unmatched graphics quality that PS5 just couldn’t achieve. It guarantees lot of fun thanks to fast-paced action, tons of enemies to eliminate in the most creative ways, intriguing story, intuitive and responsive controls, puzzles to solve, battles to the last hitpoint, planets to explore, mounts to ride, secrets to discover and weapons to upgrade. The Steam Deck version is a little miracle, properly handling such a hardware challenging game.

Sep 24, 2023Not that being more emotional and being fun are mutually exclusive – as Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart proves time and again. As the series enters into its third (!!!) decade, this PC port is a fine way to show that the Ratchet and Clank are still compelling characters, and even if there are a few points where it feels like the game could use a little more polish in terms of performance, they can’t take away the fact that Rift Apart is an outstanding game.

Nov 8, 2023It's very hard not to like this. It's really good.
-
Sep 15, 2023Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on the PC isn't just a game; it's a breathtaking showcase of technological feats. Whether you're a seasoned fan of the series or a newcomer ready to dive into dimensions unknown, this PC version promises an adventure that transcends platforms and defies expectations. With an optimal blend of technical innovation and creative brilliance, Rift Apart stands as a testament to the harmonious marriage of hardware and imagination. Don't just play the game; step through the rift and embark on an unforgettable journey.

Sep 5, 2023Had it not been for the initial instability during its release and the somewhat less seamless dimension transitions compared to the PS5 version, I would unquestionably give it a perfect score. Nevertheless, I sincerely hope that every PC gamer gets the chance to enjoy this thrilling joy ride.

Aug 14, 2023After two decades of popularity on PlayStation consoles, the legendary action-platformer franchise Ratchet & Clank has finally arrived on PC in a polished port that will entertain PC gamers of all ages.
-
Aug 7, 2023Rift Apart is a gorgeous game with great gameplay and fantastic story that suffers from unpolished PC port that results to constant frame drops throughout the game.
-
Aug 2, 2023Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is spectacular on the PC. It brings the same great story with the same wonderful characters, as well as all the good gameplay elements that the series has been known for over the years. It has some very minor hitches in its giddy-up, but nothing too serious. It’s certainly one of the better PC conversions from Sony Interactive Entertainment.
-
Aug 1, 2023Nixxes does a fantastic job again with this version, which also happens to be for a fantastic game, as we can expect from Insomniac.
-
Aug 1, 2023Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a triumph on PC and should set an example for how ports should be - not just for PlayStation games, but for every other game on the platform, too. The game wrapped up in the port is very close to perfect, too. After finishing the main story, I’m still aching to go back to grabbing collectables, zipping around the planets and mashing enemies with ridiculous weaponry at the same time. Boss design can get a little stale in the closing stages, and the illusion of dimension jumping is broken slightly on even relatively powerful PC specs. However, there’s no doubt that Rift Apart is a must-play on PC if you haven’t had the pleasure of trying it on PlayStation yet.
-
Jul 31, 2023The excellent Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart gets a very strong port. It has a few blemishes but this is still the absolute best way to play a game that’s an adventurous blast from start to finish.
-
Jul 31, 2023A successful port to PC. Beautifully optimized, except for AMD GPUs.
-
Jul 31, 2023Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a fantastic port of an excellent game that any genre fan will fall in love with.
-
Jul 31, 2023Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PC is a near-perfect port of the fantastic PS5 game, giving those on PC the chance to experience its exciting action sequences, emotional character moments, and cutting-edge graphics. There have been a number of poorly-optimized PC ports this year, but luckily, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has bucked the trend and redeemed the PlayStation-to-PC ports after the disappointing Last of Us Part 1. It's an incredible game no matter where one plays it, but it's definitely cheaper to play it on PS5, so fans should keep that in mind.
-
Jul 31, 2023While the core gameplay behind Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is still as fun today as it was when it first came out on the PS5 two years ago, the fact that this is the first time a game in the franchise has been playable on PC is definitely worth noting.
-
Jul 30, 2023Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart proves to be a spectacular and exciting adventure on PC as well, thanks to a porting that may not be perfect but is pretty damn solid, especially considering how many problematic day ones we've seen this year on this platform.
-
Jul 28, 2023A fantastic action adventure that leaves hardly anything to be desired, both in terms of gameplay and technology.
-
Jul 31, 2023Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a great PC port of a good game. They've managed to make a port that looks great and performs almost flawlessly. Almost.
-
Jul 30, 2023A fun and explosive action game that it's even more spectacular on PC (and that you can play reasonably well on Steam Deck and ROG ALLY). With it, Nixxes saves the day and delivers a third quality port in a row, which looks spectacular with the latest GPUs, although it still needs a few patches to be polished and perfected.
-
Aug 1, 2023If you liked the game on PS5 and you have a decent PC, 100% recommended. It is without a doubt the best version of the game. It shows the effort and affection of Nixxes for this to be possible. I find it amazing that it works on the Steam Deck. On the downside, it needs some patches to make the experience flawless.
-
Aug 17, 2023Ratchet & Clank’s first-time PC appearance is a great occasion to revisit the amazing adventure or get acquainted with the duo. There’s a condition though – you need a monster computer to truly enjoy this port. Although Rift Apart works surprisingly well on Steam Deck, on an older desktop PC (i7-3930K, GTX 1660 Ti, 16 GB RAM, HDD) I experienced significant framerate drops and sometimes even crashes. On a powerful config (i9-13900K, RTX 4090, 64 GB RAM, SSD M.2) it ran perfectly and looked insanely good, defending the title of one of the most beautiful games in history.
-
Aug 1, 2023The rousing, fantastically beautifully animated firework of action is occasionally marred by technical and performance problems on the PC.
-
Jul 31, 2023While the game is still a classic and fun to play, the fact that players with HDD simply can't enjoy this game like the rest of their PC brethren, basically means that you either upgrade your PC, or won't enjoy this game.
-
Jul 31, 2023Two years after its release on the PS5, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart remains a solid title in a long-running franchise that hits the mark. The simple story is bolstered by both the existing characters and new ones that carry the same amount of depth. The action flows smoothly between different types, and the addition of a dash move gives the game a sense of speed that makes combat feel better. It looks absolutely gorgeous thanks to the increased horsepower of the PC, and while some annoyances do exist, the release is much more solid when compared to some of the other big PC titles in the last 12 months. Rift Apart is well worth buying, and the hope is that Sony takes this opportunity to put the older adventures on the platform as well.
-
Aug 15, 2023Overall, it's a charming adventure and a good port of a couple of years old PlayStation 5 game. It fits well into the PC market and delivers brilliant technical graphics on the format.
-
Aug 15, 2023Very entertaining action adventure with extremely likeable characters. However, its launch on the PC is not flawless.
-
Aug 4, 2023Overall, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a beautiful platformer with diverse environments, high-quality visuals, fantastic weapons, and a focus on gunfights, although it might be too much for its own good in that aspect. The PC port and the overall technical performance are not entirely ideal.
-
Aug 2, 2023Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a brilliantly made action platformer. The action is as solid as the platforming, and it all comes together cohesively. It doesn’t do anything groundbreaking, but solid level design and varied gameplay between levels keep things feeling fresh. Combine that with the solid gameplay mechanics, and you have yourself a winner. Rift Apart isn’t going to blow anybody away, but when a game is this well-made, you can’t help but play with a smile on your face.
-
Jul 31, 2023Gorgeous and endearing, Rift Apart is a supremely likable adventure and a solid port—but at this price, it's hard to recommend over more substantial experiences.
-
Jul 31, 2023Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is an amazing game, looking and running even better on PC. However, this version does come with caveats and even some downgrades such as crashing and slightly different weapon functionality. PS5 is still the best way to play, but for those who adore the series like me it’s well worth double dipping.
-
Aug 13, 2023Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a fun and easy to play action/platform, that will give you several hours of "pure" entertainment. If the performance issues were missing, things would be even better.
-
Aug 8, 2023The game is sublime and, if you have the rig, it runs well on the PC. It just has a host of small niggles and irritating problems surrounding it that are not an indictment on the game at all, just an indication that Sony still doesn’t get PC games. As a result, the PS5 version is still the best one available as of right now, though that may change as the game is inevitably patched to solve a few of these issues.
-
Aug 7, 2023Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart was already a beautiful game on the PlayStation 5 and Nixxes Software managed to improve it on PC. The game looks absolutely astonishing and fluid, as if you are walking an Pixar movie. And not only can you enjoy the interdimensional adventure with a controller, the controls for mouse and keyboard are really well implemented. It's just a shame that the PC port has problems with certain hardware combinations.
-
Aug 3, 2023Currently it's a port with a lot of rough edges, but nothing that can't be fixed.
-
Aug 21, 2023With Ratchet and Clank: A Dimension Apart Insomniac shows that the saga has only changed to lose its distinctive features, and although the gameplay has improved enormously, it carries design problems that were forgivable in a generation with far fewer resources, but not today
