    I've always been an amazing fan of the first Project Cars game, but this sadly is a letdown in my opinion. In a way, it's a good thing because it was the team's initial ambition to offer a different racing experience. I just don't like this arcade-ish gameplay at all.

    As in the first game, it takes almost two minutes to load the game and some minutes again for each and every circuit.

    As in the first game, it takes almost two minutes to load the game and some minutes again for each and every circuit. Meaning that if you make a minor mistake during the race and want to restart it, you will have to wait such time, breaking your pace, diminishing your precious attention. I decreased the visual performance and graphics but it didn't change anything (except that it was a bit less beautiful).

    The career progression is really slow (again, as in the first game) : you can't skip the XP count after every race and.. why does it even exist ? I mean except to earn money (needed to purchase cars), what does XP stands for in such a game ? It is not like if you could spend it in skills tree as in a RPG or unlock upgrades ! It goes the same for the plethora of boring objectives. In addition, career includes few modes and the brick ones are really funny and challenging while the time trial can be truly frustrating and repetitive.

    It feels like this franchise never answered to the rain setting problem. In the first opus this already was dreadful to ride on. Here we have other issues : how can the road be wet if it isn't even raining ? I mean you do the first lap on dry road and then zip, second lap the road is flooded, third lap under the rain ! is the humidity coming out of the ground in this game ?

    For a simulation game, it seriously lacks many adaptative features. You can't change the size and position of the mini-map, the assistance, the HUD, etc. It is kind of funny to customise vehicles but what about main options ?
    On the other hand, there are a lot of different cars and circuits even without the DLC's. To the maximum graphics, the game is magnificent. It is a shame that multiplayer is broken.
    I mean this is not a terrible game but this clearly is not what Slightly Mad got us used to. Nor the quality.

    Pretty good simcade, considerable set of cars and track, good visual and physics(for simcade of course) with damage system. If add to this game funny soundtrack like gt4 my score will be greater

    Wow I don't know why people hate Project Cars 3 so much other than just the fact that it's not a hardcore sim like the previous two games in the series. This game is amazing and these scores are absurd! The handling feels great and what an awesome campaign mode. I feel like this is the best campaign in one of these types of simcade racers since Forza Motorsport 4 or Gran Turismo 3. I feel like this is the best campaign in one of these types of simcade racers since Forza Motorsport 4 or Gran Turismo 3. Project Cars 3 has more tracks than Forza Motorsport 7 and Gran Turismo 7. Really fun stuff in here like Azure Coast and California Highway plus all the road courses that we all know and love like Monza, Suzuka and Nürburgring.

    The visuals look awesome in Project Cars 3. This is some of the best looking weather I've seen in a racing game. The way water pools up on the track and trails off when cars race through it looks amazing. What other simcade game even has a snow option for tracks?

    I feel like maybe Slightly Mad/Bandai Namco should have given this game a different title because fans of previous Project Cars games are looking for more of that hardcore sim racer like
    Assetto Corsa or rFactor. Personally I just really want a fun to play simcade with plenty of cars and tracks. Project Cars 3 hit those marks and then some. This a breath of fresh air after being let down by the past few Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport titles.

    the behavior of the car off the road and under manual braking is, to put it mildly, too complicated. It's wrong when driving a car is easier in life than in a game

    One of the worst arcade racer ever. Feels like Codemasters is dead and dont want to make racing games anymore. Maybe they sold it to EA because this company has begun to sinking to the bottom.

    I just had to create an account so I could review this piece of.....

    Graphics: PC2 didn't really have that great graphics, but this is odly enought worse... Maybe a lighting issue? Gameplay: Removed a bunch of things that made PC a sim. Now it's pretty much on the same level as NFS Shift or the Grid-series (that's not a good thing for sim-racers). Sound: Okay, not great. A little

    I have no idea from where they had the courage to call this game "Project Cars 3" it has nothing to do with his predecessors, this is like making Red Dead with a name GTA.
    The cars don't feel "cars", the engine sounds are like vacuum cleaner, the graphics is is like in 2012. This is even worse sequel than Flatout 3 to 2 and 1.

    Fine racing game, the so-called arcade simulator
    Plays very well on a gamepad and forgives a lot of mistakes
    But not as good as previous games and cannot compete with the best games that came before.

    Первое что нужно уяснить, это аркада, имеющая общее с прошлыми частями только название. Аркадные гонки должны развлекать. Что имеем?

    Плюсы: ● режимы онлайна; ● звуки автомобилей. Минусы ● даунгрейд графики, так еще не отключаемое мыло; ● гоночные трассы (при этом у нас нет питстопа и износа шин), вместо красивых живописных заездов; ● очень скучные AI боты; ● физика автомобилей;

    ● ужасный интерфейс как меню, так и во время гонки;
    ● песенные композиции только в меню игры, в самой гонка однотонная электронная музыка;
    ● вопросы к оптимизации, хоть у меня (4790K+GTX1070) стабильно 110 FPS, то у друга на AMD: "в ночних гонках зависає";

    В общем чуда не произошло, я ждал именно хорошую аркаду, а в итоге получил недоаркаду с хвостом симулятора. Симуляторы заняли: GTS, ACC и iRacing, аркады: Forza Horizon 4, NFS. Но рыбку съесть, и нахй сесть стало непосильной задачей для Slightly Mad Studios.

Rinse and repeat til you reach the pinnacle of in-game motorsport. Or til you get bored, which is the most likely scenario within a few days of playing.

    Unfortunately driving PC3 is not fun. For starters, the TEDIOUS "start around the back of the grid" cliché, which conflicts with some of the arbitrary "goals" the games gives you to get extra money/XP. So winning isn't enough, you must do so by also fulfilling some random criteria that can make your races extra boring or frustrating. You won by 20 seconds? Sorry, didn't pass 10 cars in 1 minute or didn't draft a car for 30 secs. No bonus for you.

    Car upgrades are limited to your car class (so you can't turn a Honda Civic into a monster and annihilate your opponents) but the effect on the car performances are minimal. Driving around is unrewarding and dull. On dry tracks, the car feels sluggish and heavy, on wet tracks it's like handling a fish wearing soapy gloves.
    AI is all over the place, rubber-banding a lot and beingeither useless or unbeatable.

    The car selection is decent, but nothing spectacular, and so are the tracks, with an abundance of narrow "club racing" tracks that make those "win from the back" races feel like trying to drive around a big city at rush hour. Or like a being on a bumper-car as collisions are inevitable.

    Regardless of all that, the PC3 is simply inconsistent and not really engaging. A missed opportunity.

    Not gonna give a score 0 because there was some work put into it but me, hating arcade racing couldn't cope with this game. Just no for me and every arcade racing for me gets an immediate low score unless it's a harding game that has a campaign that lets you buy cars, has cars on sale, second hand cars. Oil change, cleaning like real life before a race but nah. Here you just jump into a car that you don't know who gave it to you and you race and voila.
    So lame and so out of touch can a developer be to give us something like this, it's just a copy paste of the same genre as forza.

    Invent something, do something different for once.

    This is a rushed unfinished product with yesteryear graphics but with a high FPS cost at max settings which brings me to my next point, you can get rid of the jaggies by using Supersampling at the cost of playing at 40 FPS or less depending on your card during bad weather....

    Lower end cards will struggle when the weather system comes into play, you could simply turn the graphic settings down but as the game looks last gen already you will be playing an uglier version of an ugly game.

    -I can see what people are talking about, it doesn't seem to carry on the traditional Project Cars franchise of in depth sim but I certainly think it's not nfs level of arcade. As long as people go into it with those in mind it's not too bad.
    -Not a big fan of the menu system which is a pain to navigate. You can't even tweak the settings until a race or two and they're not that easy to find either.
    -Setting up custom offline single player races is supposed to give you access to ALL cars etc but that's not been my experience, I only had access to the first crappy car I could buy. Dumb. It's going to take way too long to be able to unlock all the cars for my patience level, too many other games going that are funner for me.
    -I usually keep one simcade type of track racer on my system so this is it for now. I also have one type of nfs game and the two rally games, wrc and dirt rally which I prefer to track racing games no AI cheating by bumping and no AI non-penalties to deal with in rally games.
    -I'm guessing that PC2 would be the better option in this franchise if you want the full range of possibilities. With the settings in PC2 you can most likely set it to arcade or simcade levels if you want it so why not just go for that? It's most likely cheaper as well and all patched out, but I didn't have any crashes etc with this one. You can get the "demos" online for all the PCars games.
    -I'm also guessing that the online racing would be actually more populated in this one then the older games so that's a plus if you want that and want to stay in the pcars franchise.

    I bought Project Cars 3 with no expectations, and had about 30 hours of gameplay on it until i write this little review.

    Let's begin with the graphics. I have an average computer with a 1080 Ti, and was able to max out the graphics at 1080p. The game is beautiful, nothing extraordinary, but it's beautiful. The car models are good, even in the interior. The tracks are clear and well designed. Let's talk about the weather now... well, i got some surprises, especially with the rain ! When the rain comes, there appears some blurry clouds on the tracks to show that the rain is heavy, but those are pixelated and not so good. The water projection after the car when it rains are also blurry and not so realistic. Sometimes, when the weather is put on x10 timelapse, the sky changes in a frame, like a picture you would change in a millisecond.

    About the gameplay, I've not so much to talk about... the car feels good, and we feel when the tires lose grip. The breakes are strange... Even without ABS, it's "hard" to lock the wheels... and the traction isn't so agressive. The solo mode is just a series of mission and races, nothing original, but some missions are cool. You have to manage your money in order to be able to continue you career without doing the same missions again, but you can sell your cars, so that's not to hard.
    But that's not what a hated the most in this game... let's talk about AI in solo mode ! The AI is... well... dumb. Even in the highest difficulty, they remain bad at driving in the traffic, they change direction in a millisecond to put just in front of you, et don't hesitate to hit you ! The first lap is always a mess, and you have to drive even more agressively to take the first place. And when you're first... They divebomb you like anybody ever divebombed ! They don't care if you're here or not, they just go for the interior of the curve and get you out of the way, it just doesn't make sense, at all !

    As the solo mode was too much for me, I went for some multiplayer. There are several mode at our disposition. First of all there are one click multiplayer races, with random cars and tracks. We can find aswell organized races. 6 tracks, with a determined car category cycling every 2 hours, so a race every 20 minutes, and the 6 races change everyday. You can sign in, choose your car and go to qualification in order to setup the car and make your best time to pick the first place on the grid. And when the hour to go race comes, you get a matchmaking to play with 31 other players. I found it was a cool feature, but never had more than 12 opponents. And let's talk about the opponents... It's not a simulation game, so some pilots... aren't pilots. They just struggle to drive safely and some are really aggresive, some don't hesitate to kick you out of the track, and don't get ant penalty for that. When you cross a pilot which in under blue flag, he is in ghost mode, which is a good thing. But the atmosphere isn't good for making good racing, because of a little amont of players who don't know how to drive, or just don't care of being goood drivers.
    We can find aswell a rival mode which proposes a daily, a weekly and a monthly challenge. The challenges are pretty cool, and you get a rank after each challenge, which gives you points, but I don't know what those points are made for...

    As a conclusion, this Project Cars 3 is TOTALLY different than the first 2 Project Cars, and it stands as a "sim-arcade" gameplay, but honestly, Gran Turismo does it WAY BETTER. And if you're looking for a clean racing, just don't play this game.

    SOUND MUSIC AND VOICE: Sound is mediocre. Music is okay. Like drive club . Which is at times really great. But falls flat on most occasions. Voice is just there to read the tutorials. 5/10
    GAMEPLAY: [I kept the other categories short as this is where my rant begins] I was up for any racing. And the handling was accessible and was liking the driving. But the problem lies in the progression. The one who designed this is a pure A**HOLE. You see the game doesnt give ingame currency for winning races, but rather if you level up a track or level up yourself. WHICH IS TEDIOUS! The major problem is that every subsequent event asks you to have a "car that was released between 2015 and 2019 belonging to a specific country". WHICH MEANS YOU NEVER HAVE THE REQUIRED CARS. The game asks you to buy the cars for the event, only problem is that you never have the credits to buy it. Say you grind for 4 hours to get credits, you compete in like 2 events if your lucky , because the game will ask you to buy another car for the next event. RIDICULOUS!
    There is an event called pace setter, which requires you to lap a track 3 times and the average time is taken into account. Yeah sounds interesting, only thing is that the game invalidates your lap even if you slightly graze a wall or go an inch off track. [which is a failed event but the game tells you after you complete 3 laps]. The target times are also ridiculous. The only way to even try for it is to attempt big risks, but you cant afford risks because the game will invalidate your lap and fail the event!! STUPIDEST DESIGN IN A GAME!
    Now lets talk about the AI ;seems like the opponents don't have gears, they have only one gear and they accelerate without breaks. Well i had to turn on every assist and lower the difficulty to the least to even win the event on indianapolis speedway. Because the opponents accelerate indefinitely without changing gears!! Also the criteria is to get a lap time of 52 seconds. While the fastest lap was 1 min !!!! GAME WAS PURELY MADE SO THAT YOU DONT GET TO PLAY THE GAME!! Uninstalled after 16 hours of wasting my time.! Pure garbage! 3/10
    FUN FACTOR: Its more frustrating than fun! 2/10
    PERFORMANCE: Not so great . The frame rate tanks when the weather changes to rain. 4/10

    OVERALL: SKIP this GAME! The progression is god awful. 4/10

    At last a racing game carefully and entirely built around drive well instead of just driving fast.

    The first Project CARS game designed not only for hardcore simulation fans, but also for more casual racing enthusiasts, was supposed to be love at first sight. Well, it wasn’t. It does boast one of the most enjoyable driving models you can come across nowadays, but it’s not enough. The rest of the game (including the single-player campaign that should have been named Project Grind) falls short of what the best racing games on the market offer. [11/2020, p.52]

    Project CARS 3 leaves you with mixed feelings. It has wonderful controls and good arcade physics, but its tracks are too plain and boring for an arcade racing game. It’s even worse if you’re a sim fan – the game will leave totally disappointed. [Issue#248, p.54]
