  • Summary: Perspective is an experimental platformer. The player avatar moves in a 2D space that transforms when the player changes perspective in 3D space. The player needs to use this mechanic navigate the 2D avatar to a goal in order to progress from level to level.

    It's shame this game doesn't have any more acclaim than what it has.     From the students at DigiPen comes a puzzle-platformer with a twist. Playing the game from a 1st person perspective, you must line up the blueFrom the students at DigiPen comes a puzzle-platformer with a twist. Playing the game from a 1st person perspective, you must line up the blue grids to guide your 2d avatar through each level to the awaiting goal. A simple but great premise with awesome execution.
    However, the game has a knack for freezing, and not just freezing randomly. It can -and oft will- freeze when you complete a checkpoint, forcing you to do the arcade segments over and (sometimes) over. If you don't grow tired of it and rage quit in the meantime, there is a game with a lot of meat in between.
    Perspective is an old school romp with a new spin, and can be tons of fun if you overlook its sometimes glaring bug. Really wished I could have given it a higher score, but it has a huge technical scar on an otherwise pretty much flawless game.
    But, hey, the price is just right!    … Expand
