So far, Ori and the Will of the Wisps has taken my breath away. It’s possibly one of the most aesthetically gorgeous games I’ve ever played, even if some parts do feel like they’ve been ripped straight from the first game and the soundtrack is masterful in every sense of the word. [Provisional Score = 90]
  2. It’s difficult but fair, complex but intuitive, and gruelling but conquerable. [RPS Bestest Bests]

The visuals, music and game mechanics are all incredible. You can tell this game was a complete labor of love by Moon Studios! I really enjoy the melee changes that were made as Ori feels like a right badass now :)

At $30 price point you are getting an amazingly engaging and innovative game with AAA polish. How could you go wrong with that?

Only than could you truly appreciate how masterful this game is. I don't even want to call it a game because it is truly beyond that title.
The visuals are like walking through a living and breathing painting were every brush stroke is perfection. The music, the sound, the emotion of this game is genre defining in its excellence. Triple A developers take note.
This is how you make a game. This is how you make art..this is how you tell a story.

Thanks to your sandworm section. The garbage underdeveloped gimmick, an obstacle course build around it with high precision requirement, no checkpoints and tight timings.
No thanks. I've spent literally 3 hours trying to beat this section and I'm done.
I enjoyed the game so far until that point. Now, ANY enjoyment that I had with the game is completely drowned in bad experience that I'm having now.
I'm not even gonna bother trying any more and completing the game. And I'm not going to go and buy any of the future installements, knowing how bad of a time I had now.
It's been literally half an hour since I turned the game off after my third attempt, and I still have my fingers shaking in sheer frustration.

You took my enjoyment and the good time I've ben having and just sunk it into the toilet. You've lost a customer in me.

Honestly, I don't know if and how this segment was playtested. But whoever designed it - ruined my experience over an entire game.
I've played many hard games. Souls games, slashers. I played them on highest difficulty and I like going for platinum and all achievements. I'm not a casual gamer! However even if I was, it wouldn't have mattered. No gamer deserves a segment that makes you uninstall out of frustration and realization that you have better and more enjoyable things in your life than fighting the game controls and going through the same obstacle course a hundred of times over and over, failing each time after over a minute into it.

No. I'm just done. 0/10. A game that can't be finished because of a single underdeveloped mechanic and a single segment built around it - does not deserve praise from me.
This was a beautifully made game that decided that it can put an insane difficulty spike near the end, and that it can afford wasting my time and then losing me as a player forever.

Good job, developers. You **** it up.
