    Doing ant`s work here with a positive review since the positives of this game nowadays are so much bigger than the negatives. Insane immersion given the difficult task of being a space simulation game.

    You can get locked in your own base! This game is complete **** seriously. Ok tons of planets are cool...but they are all generic af. One of the randomized animals in this game is a great metaphor for this pile of crap. It has amazing graphics but its just not worth playing. I can't even walk into my base without getting stuck on the perfectly level ground and ramp.

    Despite the popular opinion the game improved since its premiere, it's still insanely boring. The building mechanics are shallow and there is nothing interesting to explore because everything is generated procedurally. I love good survival game but this one, in my opinion, is not amidst them.

    The waypoint(4.0) update ruined what was an amazing game all these years. People spent hundreds of hours on looking for and buying and finding those upgrades to improve their exploration experience. But Hello Games ruined it all. Before this update, my rating for the game was 9 out of 10. Now it's 2. Unless Hello Games fix this, it'll remain this way.     The game had redeemed itself through updates and patches over the last 6 years, and was actually fun and worth playing.

    Then patch 4.0 happened.

    They gutted the inventory. Half my slots are gone and most of my tech mods are no longer usable. This change destroyed my ship and character build nerfing them into uselessness. Not only that but my storage is all gone and the inventory section is difficult to navigate and it literally puts all items in one screen so everything is completely disorganized and chaotic.     The game was a 9/10. Really cool exploration feature. But they ruin it in one day. So the note is still gonnae be 1/10 till the changes.

    Absolutely, hands down, bar none, the WORST storyline in the gaming history. I truly believe that because of the initial poor response of the game, the developers wrote and eventually added the ending of the storyline as a big middle finger to the player base. It is a lazy hack job of writing, posing as shallow pseudo-intellectualism that hatefully says to the user "Ha! you wasted moneyAbsolutely, hands down, bar none, the WORST storyline in the gaming history. You start on a planet with hostile conditions, and are supposed to learn the terribly ununituitive, and badly explained basics under pressure, while you are slowly dying. Such a bad start, really...

    The Bad: The most deceptive marketing campaign in recent memory. Developers are proven to be as dishonest as they come. Game launched nothing like marketing showed.

    The Good: The developers stood by the product and eventually after ~3 years brought it close to where it wanted to be at launch.     also fun fact this game is the reason why Sony hasn't had any early access games for years and Sean Murray tried to weasel and say that Sony was responsible for not giving him enough funding. VP of Sony of America denied this and called it false.    … Expand

    I remember playing Privateer in the early 90s and being blown away by its size and diversity of planets and stations, etc. Back then I thought that in a few decades games like that would be so massive that you cant even explore them anymore because you wouldnt be able to live long enough.
    No Mans Sky promised that. Instead of that we got... well we all know.
    I threw it away. But then    I remember playing Privateer in the early 90s and being blown away by its size and diversity of planets and stations, etc. Back then I thought that in a few decades games like that would be so massive that you cant even explore them anymore because you wouldnt be able to live long enough.

    I threw it away. But then after a few years suddenly reports of it having improved trickled in. That the devs are massively patching it and adding all that was promised.

    So I got it out again and after a few hours realized its still the same boring game that doesnt make sense in many ways, doesnt have a real story or a goal, still only has maybe 12 different planets that are spread across the galaxy in tiny variations, still feels dead and sterile, still has crappy space mechanics, still has intelligent life everywhere, yet you never see planets with cities or a civilization, AKA simply makes NO sense whatsoever.
    IDK why people say that and the ratings reflect that, because its still a very bad and uninteresting game. I dont know a single person who likes that game even in its current state, yet reviews are really good nowadays.

    As for the UI/UX? Oh my.. That was one of the main issue for me, and it is why I just unistalled it after 1 hour. Even with the help of the tutorial I was lost in the interface. Maybe the problem is with me, but I felt frustrated the whole time I was playing, because of it.

    The other main reason why I just quit/uninstalled it so soon was that I just didn't care about the whole setup. Usually I like space themed games.. Maybe that is an understatement. I LOVE most of them. However with this one I just couldn't connect, and didn't find any fun playing it. I felt all task a chore. Go there, mine that, create that. I can't explain, cause a lot of game has this kind of objectives, and deliver fun moments. However for me, not this one.

There are an unlimited number of planets and galaxies, but they're ALL SIMILAR. Every facility, ruin, base, area you visit is the same. There's barely any new content after the first 3 hours.     There is absolutely no aspect of this game that isn't bad. From the UI, through combat, endless boring resource grind to controls where for some reason sprint is bound to pressing the right analog stick

    Если коротко то это Гринд ради гринда,и даже если в этой игре тысячи планет,то они ничем не отличаются друг от друга,а механика с космическими боями так вообще ужасна.
    В целом игра уже наскучит на 5 часу игры,когда ты поймёшь что ты находишься в замкнутой экосистеме гринда,торговли,и фотографиями пейзажей,в которой нет абсолютно никакого смысла    Если коротко то это Гринд ради гринда,и даже если в этой игре тысячи планет,то они ничем не отличаются друг от друга,а механика с космическими боями так вообще ужасна.

    k heb er net 6 uur op zitten en ga er mee kappen. de interface valt geen touw aan vast te knopen en voelt meer als een puzzle waar ik elke keer loop te zoeken naar welk scherm ik nodig heb. Tevens heb ik het gevoel dat ik totaal geen overzicht heb in het spel, waar ik ben, waar ik naartoe moet/wil. de tutorial slaat qua verhaal echt helemaal    Zelfs met de laatste update (12-2019)

    k heb er net 6 uur op zitten en ga er mee kappen. de interface valt geen touw aan vast te knopen en voelt meer als een puzzle waar ik elke keer loop te zoeken naar welk scherm ik nodig heb.

    Tevens heb ik het gevoel dat ik totaal geen overzicht heb in het spel, waar ik ben, waar ik naartoe moet/wil. de tutorial slaat qua verhaal echt helemaal nergens op.

    Ook wordt ik moedeloos van het constante inventory geneuzel en raak ik depressief als ik zie hoever ik nog verwijderd ben van het kunnen bouwen van storage containers om dat wat dragelijker te maken.

    Als ik echt kwaad wordt op een spel is dat ook geen goed teken. biofuel reactor gebouwd zoals de tutorial zegt, er moet wat fuel in, ok dan wat carbon *poef* al m'n 2500 carbon weg waar ik een half uur over bezig ben geweest om te minen, en geen enkele manier om het terug te krijgen.    … Expand

Aspects of the game that lack polish or are downright clunky like parts of the UI (galaxy map probably the worse offender) can easily be forgiven. The sheer weight of bugs that actually hinder gameplay can't. Hello Games needs to really focus on these, as they more than negate the content and features updates they keep bringing out.    … Expand

    Чего же ждали все от "огромного" и распиаренного обновления игроки?
    Провода? Я лично ожидал увидеть все что угодно, но не это! Ждали я так думаю оптимизации и разнообразия в этом унылом мире, в котором все планеты похожи и ловишь себя на мысли в какой-то момент что ты попал в тот самый день    Итак. Резюмируя все вышесказанное, свой опыт в почти 600 часов игры и впечатления от обновления.
    Чего же ждали все от "огромного" и распиаренного обновления игроки?
    Провода? Я лично ожидал увидеть все что угодно, но не это!
    Ждали я так думаю оптимизации и разнообразия в этом унылом мире,
    в котором все планеты похожи и ловишь себя на мысли в какой-то момент что ты попал в тот самый день сурка.
    Что-же помешало убрать наконец пластелиновые крылья из однообразных собак галактики?
    Что помешало добавить в унылые ландшафты реки, водопады и прочие излишества? Например небольшие города/поселки.
    Или сделать дополнительно энное количество приличных моделек животных и растений и добавить их в генерацию, что-бы она действительно создавала нечто интересное, уникальное для каждой планеты.
    Что помешало создать например рейдовые планеты. С ценными ресурсами и дикими зверюгами для кооператива?
    Это провода. Вы серьезно? Провода? Провода в фантастическом мире? Где и так достаточно мелкой возни и гринда? Добавить провода?
    Добавить полигоналей, что-бы у тех кто плюс-минус героическими ухищрениями и шаманством с бубуном кое как оптимизировал сам для себя игру,
    было возгорание энной точки от такого обновления.
    Вы себе так представляли фантастический мир? С унылыми, однообразными кораблями, похожими на творения детей аутистов?
    Даже та самая расчудесная станция Нексус, - пустая и унылая. Такими должны быть системные станции. А не Нексус.
    Вы серьезно? Вы этим гордитесь? Умиляетесь сами себе и своей гениальностью в твиттере? Вы думаете этого должно хватить?
    Вам не хватает здравых идей и простоты ума? Обращайтесь к игрокам, которые по вашему плохо реализуют свои идеи.
    Давайте я вам накидаю идей.
    Добавьте моделей животных и растений в игру. Добавьте биомов.
    Добавьте реки, озера. И хотя-бы небольшие городки.
    Что-бы ваша хваленая генерация выдавала действительно нечто уникальное.
    Затем создайте в игре механизм зоо и биопарков, для посещения другими игроками.
    Создайте рейдовые планеты. С действительно опасными животными, на которые нужно будет собирать отряд в том же Нексусе.
    Добавьте уже возможность видоизменять корабли. И вообще действительно интересные и фантастические модели кораблей.    … Expand

    Lies! Sean recently said the best feedback was from those who were invested and played over 100 hours in the first week. Well I have a job, was invested, and to this day I'm incredably disappointed in the lies you told and the utter lack of an apology which i believe we all deserve.

    I've come back to this game numerous times. In the end - the combat is lame, the complete grindfest gets real old everytime - oh i'm out of warp fuel, go farm more. Oh, go that way 15mins, do this and return. FUN! >.< The graphics are unimpressive, the story.... not sure really wth its going. Shame.

People are losing 200+ hours worth of grind, and Hello Games cannot be reached for comment, or support.

    Hello Games grifted me out of $100. I bought the original game when it first came out on PS4. I was very disappointed (because the game was horrible). Because I had purchased the PS4 to play the game, I sold the system soon after. I bought the original game when it first came out on PS4. I was very disappointed (because the game was horrible). Because I had purchased the PS4 to play the game, I sold the system soon after. Years later, they release the NEXT update, which is supposed to fix everything (or add the stuff that was left out intentionally because they lied about what they would include the game). Like the sucker that I am, I purchased the game on PC. It's just as bad as it always was. It's no fun at all. There is nothing resembling a story. What's there is not engaging. It's sparse in every category: imagination, entertainment value, things to do, etc. I can't stress enough how bad this game is. It is a complete failure and I hate that I bought it twice.     Mine resources ? To bad that every planet on the universe had planetary-wide "sentinel drones" on them, that will kill everybody who dare to steal a handful of dirt...Surviving simply means to refill one of your numerous constantly dropping meters. Manually of course, even if your have enought resources in your inventory. This game uses every opportunity to artifically extend the gameplay (Yeah, we like our Inventory small and fiddly).

    The best part is probably the exloration, but of course it's shallow like the rest of the game - push your scanner run to the next question marker and "discover" one of 5 or 6 generic alien things that are pretty mutch the same on every planet.This game has too many flaws big and small to name them all, I won't even start to talk about all the technical problems this game has. The 60 € price tag is just the cherry on top of the cake. I think they knew very well why they gave no review copies to the press or showed actual gameplay vids before release.

    Maybe buy this in a Sale after a couple of patches for 20 bucks, because the potential is there but buried under a pile of 18 Quintillion generic planets.    … Expand

    Doesn't get any more shallow than No Guy Buy. Stick with Starbound or Space Engineers - Scifi games with actual depth of gameplay. Things like tacked on "base building" don't really do enough to save this thing from feeling empty and hollow.

    The ships, although cool in looks, are severely lacklustre in this game. Bigger ships do not necessarily mean more control, better weapons, etc, instead they allow for the player to carry larger amounts of materials than before. There is no feeling of progression from gaining a new ship after hours of endless grinding, rather, a feeling similar to something like "Oh hey look a new ship, that one looks cooler than my last one".

    While I'm on the topic, the endless grinding? The game was hyped up to be some sought of "choose your own adventure", and from trailers and developer details, this is what we were lead to believe. Instead, you spend hours upon hours finding very specific resources, some of which aren't available in certain planetary systems simply to fly your ship, not very satisfying gameplay, especially since, from early trailers, players were lead to believe that again, you could choose how you played. We were supposed to be able to grind resources if we wanted, discover new planets if we wanted, discover life forms, learn languages and although all of this is possible, the gameplay is extremely lacking and in order to do this in the first place, large amounts of grinding time is required.

    Multiplayer was another functionality that was promised by developers, and probably the biggest let down of the whole game. The grind, in my opinion, would be totally worth it if I could fly my ship to a certain solar system to find my mates, fly around with them and destroy other's ships. Unfortunately, the only interaction I will ever have with someone else is when I see details of the planets they have discovered in game.

    Although this game does disappoint, credit must be given for the vast expanse of planets and that have been created and the graphic quality of the game. Looking through the universe's map certainly leaves a feeling of wonder and intrigue as to what might be out there, and the graphical quality and aesthetically pleasing aspects of the game add to this, however, from feelings of being let down from previous gameplay, those hopes are soon quashed.

    Hopefully, the developers can continue to create content, similar to recent updates (bases can now be created and land ships are now a thing) that will fix some of the glaringly obvious problems that the game has. Otherwise, I doubt I'll be playing anytime soon.    … Expand

    The base building, teleportation and renting the ship with the option to build a base in it feels shoehorned into the mechanics of the game. Most ideas are done by other indie developer like starbound and subnautika already. Also this basebuilding breaks with the mechaniks of the core game. It was not developed to be a base building game the core mechanics are not changed.

    For pacing the game there are to many grinding moments for just improving the grinding it self. In other games you grind to do some thing different. Example: Starbound. With the multitool you dig to improve the tool to grab liquids from the planets. Then you will grind to place wire and paint the placed blocks. In No Man's Sky you just grind to grind more. There is no target or improvement in your game and without these shift in mechanics there is no fun after 3 to 4 hours.    … Expand

    Moi aussi, je viens me confesser aux indés de merde anonymes, ces indés moisis qui se révèlent très souvent de simples sous-produits programmés avec le fion... mais celui-ci, ce No man's sky, il vendait du rêve, attisait une forte curiosité et déployait ses ambitions de jeu triple A surgonflé par les agences de notation ! Et comme pour appuyer ses fanfaronnades, l'ignoble grosse merde était affichée au prix du triple A habituel y compris sur PC, soit 59, 99 !!

    Le plus cruel ou le plus comique dans cette pitoyable histoire, c'est que le jour J le jeu se lance, charge puis crash immédiatement à tous les coups. Rapidement, un patch salvateur est mis en place... par un internaute qui a court-circuité les appels OpenGL merdeux de cette bande de mange-merdes d'Hello Games... lesquels ont a mis ensuite plusieurs jours à résoudre le problème.

    Notez qu'une fois lancé et "opérationnel", le jeu s'avère un pur... étron technique. Assez vilain et souvent de mauvais goût, il tourne comme une patate quels que soient les réglages et charge pendant des plombes ! ! les patchs sucessifs n'y changeront pas grand'chose.

    Le jeu en lui-même amusant la première heure, le temps de la découverte, montre ensuite au fur et à mesure sa vacuité, sa répétition et son ennui puisqu'on erre sans but sinon celui fumeux de suivre une entité absconse jusqu'au "centre de la galaxie"... et pour ce faire, il faut farmer comme un crevard toutes les ressources qu'on voit ici et là et partout ailleurs pour fabriquer, améliorer la combinaison et le vaisseau.

    Là, aujourd'hui, un nouveau patch est sorti, permettant de construire des bases -à la manière de Fallout 4 !- sauf que sur ces planètes vides, on n'en voit vraiment pas l'intérêt si ce n'est de doubler ou tripler les quantités habituelles de farmage de goret... qui obligent à se dépatouiller avec des inventaires toujours plus remplis, ce qui induit encore plus de farmage de merde pour améliorer le nombre de slots !

    Non, vraiment on en sort pas. Mais ce n'est pas le comble. Le comble, c'est de relancer sa partie depuis le patch et de constater qu'on est sur une planète sur laquelle on était pas et que son vaisseau flotte comme un con au milieu du ciel. Inaccessible.

    A moins de tout recommencer à zéro, c'est mort. Le jeu a chié et s'est cassé tout seul. Comme un con. J'ai gâché plus de trois quarts d'heure à chercher un landing pad éventuel pour "rappeler" le vaisseau... en vain.

    Car il n'y a pas de carte sur les planètes, pas de voyage rapide... et les sauvegardes automatiques sont foirées toutes les deux. Parce que "sauvegarder quand on veut" n'a jamais fait partie du cahier des charges chez "Hello Games". Misérables tocards et foutus crevards que vous êtes, incapables connards, allez tous vous faire foutre !    … Expand

    Even with the foundation update the game has less than 6 hours of fun just awful after like many hating it on launch i was excited when the foundation update came out my hopes were quickly dashed after a mere 3 extra hours and even with my monster 4000 pc i would still get frame rate dips f**k this game and suck my d**k sean murrey

    I spent a fairly large amount of time playing this game, searching for the things shown in trailers, and that Sean Murray said in interviews. After ~40 hours, I found none of the things I was most hoping to find, and combined with terrible performance on my computer, I can't recommend this game to ANYONE.

    Иногда,когда я хочу поиграть в игру,я сначала качаю пиратку. А только потом уже покупаю. Данная игра разачаровала меня.
    Но дабы вы не кидались на меня,сначала скажу плюсы:
    -Музыка. Да да,здесь музыка довольная приятная и релаксирующая.
    -Открытый мир. Он огромный. Но делать там особо нечего. Разве что полетать.
    -Графика. Ну хоть здесь не наврали-графон радует глаз.
    Иииии плюсы кончились. Теперь минусы.
    -Геймплей. Помните Шона Мюррея? Ага,того самого мажора,который наживается на ожиданиях фанатов. Где уникальность планет? Где умные NPC? Где "ЗРЕЛИЩНЫЕ" космечиские сражения? ГДЕ ЭТО ВСЁ? А? ГДЕ?!
    Сам же ГЕЙплей ужасно скучен. Нет разнообразия,нет нормальной системы выживания,нет ничего. Это просто тупая бродилка по одинаковым планетам. И ВСЁ.
    -Цена. Окей,сейчас цена данной игры 1200 руб или же 29$. Но это всё равно много! Я уже не говорю про её прошлою цену-2000р. 2000? ЗА ИНДИ?! ЭТО ЦЕНА НОРМАЛЬНОГО,Б***Ь,AAA ПРОЕКТА!!!! ЭТО же не AAA. А СРАНОЕ ИНДИ,КАРЛ!
    -Открытый мир. Да,я ранее говорил о нем в плюсах. Но это одновременно и минус. АБСОЛЮТНО одинаковые планеты. Единственное,что меняется,это климат. Да и то не заметно.
    -NPC. Это вообще отдельная истроия.
    Ожидание:Нужно быть начеку,ибо животные могут напасть. У них свой язык при общении друг с другом.
    Реалность:Это просто животные. ПРОСТО Е*****Е NPC,КОТОРОЕ ТОЛЬКО МЕШАЕТСЯ ПОД НОГАМИ.
    Кому вообще это может быть интересно? Правильно,НИКОМУ.

    Я могу бесконечно перечислять минусы игры,но на это шел бы не один обзор.
    И всё из-за Шона Мюррея. Награда "Врун года" перечисляется ему.

    Абсолютно сырая,недоделанная игра с скучным геймплеем. А ведь у игры был бы потенциал. Но,как обычно,все катится к чертям.

    Boring and misses a large amount of advertised content. Game feels like a scam and nothing else and does not live up to it's AAA price. To top it off Hello Games and Sean Murray have gone silent and not made any attempt to talk about this disaster of a game.

    To be fair, this game had so much potential. So much. But the developer utterly failed to have this game live up to its hype and potential. On the outside, the premise of the game is promising. Vast universe to explore. But then again something so vast is also very so limited.     The Gameplay is farely straightforward the simplicity on the control scheme was perfect. It does provide some interest when you explore your first planet. Outside of your first planet however doesn't provide much difference from any other planet other then terrain generation. which only becomes different by the temperature of a planet. If Hello Games had included multiplayer and the ability to build a base and toned down the energy consumption of your ship this game could be an amazing game. If they don't do anything however which seems to be the case then this game could of been something great. This game in its complete form on release date should of been considered early access not the final product.… Expand

    There's no reward for finishing the journey, in fact it takes stuff away when you do.
    There's no real need to leave the starting systems as 95% of the time the system will have everything you need, the other 5% you can simply buy it off the market.
    There's no progression, the game is the same from start to when you simply quit (only difference is more bag space).
    You can learn an entire language for 20 carbon (and by the time you're finished you can turn that 20 carbon into 1000s or more if you have the space lol).
    There's so much more to add to whats wrong but by now you should get the idea... it's trash; wait for a 75% off sale.    … Expand

    If you are looking for a chilled experience that isn't particularly challenging then it might be for you.

    Yes, there are so many planets you and all your friends will never see them all but you wouldn't want to as they all play within the same range of experience, the only difference between a hot planet and a radioactive one (or a toxic or frozen for that matter) is the level of shielding you have determining how long you can stay outside, while on-planet there's not much to do but trade, learn words, pick up resources have a brief skirmish and scram, there's no building to do and no wars to fight. The Fun-Police sentinels are ineffectual on land as and in space so are just a mild annoyance.

    The odd space 'battle' may kick off as you jump into a new system (too many times) but it doesn't matter if they're ignored, there's no data on who's fighting or why and getting involved will net you the same amount of respect as giving 10 iron to lazy trader.

    The flora and fauna are sort of interesting at first, but have no depth to them outside being passive or aggro and their freaky appearances which break suspension of disbelief in some combinations. Hop to about 16 planets and you've seen pretty much every variation of plant and most of the 'animal parts' that go to making up the non-sentient life. The sentient life consists of three races Beakface, Daft Punk and Brute who are just there to trade and teach you words, there's no sense of them inhabiting any world other than in their outposts, which, paradoxically, are on EVERY planet. There's no gas giants or any non-solid worlds, or even strange suns either. There is *some* variation in the terrain however, the occasional world will have giant cubes of land protruding from the surface or floating islands but again, that, with the minimal plant, animal and mineral variation slapped on top is literally all there is to them.

    The one good thing about this game is the fabled "Take-off from one world land on another" with no cut-scenes or loading which has been a holy grail of gaming for so long it's painful to see it done so flimsily. There is nothing satisfying about space combat, it feels like plastic kids toys whipping around.

    Some parts look pretty but the anti-aliasing is horrific all over.

    The 'ending' (just cheat your way to the core if you must see it, you'll be.... less incensed that way) is exactly the kind of slap in the face that paying the slightest heed to hype will net you. Anyone defending it either must be being paid or is in such depths of delusion that they're a danger to their own mental health and yours.

    Play this game with no expectations while listening to your favourite podcasts and you might just come away with a slightly favourable view of it, then skip to the end and realise it'd just an epic waste of time getting there honestly.    … Expand

If you want to call this game a survival crafting game, then you are putting it up against games like rust, minecraft, ark, etc. there are so many. and this doesnt even come close to those.

    now if this game was sold as lets say "a looking at things adventure" then its only competition is pokemon snap. a hard game to beat, but hey..at least it would be honest.

    COMBAT is so far off that i dont even want to go there. the only chance it has at this point is combat in space

    SPACE COMBAT there pretty much isnt any. sure you get attacked by a pirate, but if you can get past the crappy UI of the game you can use that sweet ore you mined to recharge you shields and make yourself invincible.

    overall this games only achievement is that a small group of people made it. its also colorful despite the 10 mete distance graininess. [i play on high on pc, im exaggerating] This game deserves title as worst game in history. I hope it surpasses E.T. and it gets buried on the moon. good try Hello Games, but you should have tried harder.    … Expand

    Sean Murray is a **** liar. The game does not even have half of what was promised. The only thing to do in this game is an endless grind. None of the planets even feel unique. Stay far away from this game.

    Not a 0% game like many say, but it's just... boring.
    Walk to get this, walk back to to get that, walk walk walk.
    I'm not going into the false promises issue, but the game itself is just an endless chore of boring tasks.

A scammer appears and claims to make a game in a couple of years with a hand full of people that could not be made with with all the assets that Chris Roberts now has.     No Man's Sky breaks the record in falling short of the hype – which is an incredible achievement in the category of super ambitious space games. The huge universe is a repetitive, lifeless and meaningless place, no amount of random generated creatures can change that. The most unforgivable fail is making the spaceship such a pain to fly, which makes exploring the vast universe simply a chore. However, at its best the game is epic and many of the issues should be easy to fix, so this might not be the end of the journey after all. [Sept 2016]
