NI NO KUNI II: REVENANT KINGDOM is the wackiness and inanity of the Japanese in full swing. After a totally ridiculous introduction, some mildly promising gameplay presents itself only to be quickly dismantled with poor design choices and finally abandoned altogether as you reach the overworld and run across it like some miniature chibi figurine.

    Pros:
    - Beautiful art
    - Good Japanese voice acting - Smooth combat Cons: - Terribly thin and generic story. Early teens or kids might like it though - Games tries to do too many things and makes the entire game shallow - Shameless copying of sounds from Zelda Breath of the Wild - Turn based is still better. Might've been good to see X-Com style combat instead of the poorly

This is really heavily over hyped. After having played "only" for < 6 hours, it became unbearable. It has very simplistic combat, Higgledies might be cute, but I found them rather useless. Button mashing is good enough.

Very simplistic (cringe worthy) story, characters and dialog (with the overwhelming majority unvoiced). Story might (for the most part) be enjoyable for a 6 year old.

Loot is all about statistics, it does not show up on character, and there are only a few item slots anyway. Hardly any RPG aspects to be found in items or character development.

Simplistic imaging, but it can be charming in places. The 2 different art styles (simplistic dungeon vs very simplistic overworld) do not help.

Skirmishes I had some fun, but again they are basically simple.
Did not get to the building part, it is supposed to be rather central and motivating, but also tedious and you have to go out "exploring" again.

It probably has a lot of content, just in it's core mechanics it has the look and feel of a low budget game or something that could be played on a phone.

Next-Gen Graphics which require better PC, than ARK:SE, Far Cry 5 or Final Fantasy XV...
One more Ported Console Crap which is not even worth to play it, even if they will pay you money for. No really, if you have brain and if you do not have Gamind Disorder, then better spend your $$$ one something worthy, with Much Better Graphics, which, at least, match the Declared System Requirements

One of the worst JRPG of this generation...
Story is SO terrible that you cant even try to explain something logically. The "fairy tale" excuse is no working this time because its lore don't even start to influence any of its story turns. Instead we have random solutions that come straight from the air.
Only the idea of the plot in whole is something that you can respect, but its

Only the idea of the plot in whole is something that you can respect, but its executed very poorly.
Battles is hack'n'slashly simple and none of its mechanics is working.
Town building is useless and skirmish battles is a drag.
The game is an absolute mess and I can't recommend it to anyone. I've beaten the first game a few years back and it had some flaws, but was really atmospheric and, in whole, enjoyable. The second game is a real step back and, in my opinion, worse even that the first "dark cloud' game.

Too easy, you do not need strategy. To kill a boss you just have to press attack and that's it. It is for a child under 4 years old.

Ni No Kuni II is all that fans wanted after the first game. Despite the lower difficulty, the game can absorb and offer a magical and welcoming experience of the Japanese RPG genre. [Issue#285]

Ni No Kuni II is truly a tale, deliberately naïve and full of colorful characters. The combination of different genres, JRPG, management and RTS, works well, as each style is interwoven with the others.
  3. With the successful fighting system and the dynamics of the story, Ni Ko Kuni II is once again the challenging JRPG we miss.
