    You can't really make a build video from this game, because there are only 6 skills per weapon and you basically HAVE to run certain ones in order to play the game, so youtube monetization is shot.

    There's a lot of land and very little to do. But you'll say: "what about all the crafting progression?" Yes, such progression. You can either set your character up to waste a minute at a time banging on rocks, or banging on trees, or standing in front of plants.

    There is no strategy whatsoever in dungeon play. You have a healer, you have a tank, and you have DPS. Sort of. The healer kites things everyone else just spams whatever moves they have available at the boss. You can't even have a rotation because you only have 3 skills per weapon and they're all on 10+ second cooldowns.

    The game advertises siege combat, but out of a 2000 player server, only 100 can play per day per territory, and participants are chosen by other players. So basically, thanks for the money suckers, and also **** you.

    The storyline is non-existent on multiple levels. First, there's no real storyline. Like, at all. NPCs don't speak to you, (because they largely do not exist outside of major towns), and you can't speak to them unless they have a quest marker above their heads. It's as immersive as an empty tub. You get a new "storyline" mission every 5 levels to unlock a new gear slot and otherwise just wander from town to town to acquire quests to visit villages which have no human life and kill poop-flinging zombies.

    Oh, and you will spend the vast majority of your time gathering resources for the purpose of throwing it down a ****ing hole at the town bounty board to gather a smidgen of XP.

    Want to play that dungeon? You have to grind just to create the key to enter it. Because a game with no storyline centered around the mindless gathering of materials for the purpose of throwing it away needs MORE grinding.    … Expand

    My played time is 16+ hours, and my queue time is 12+ hours. As for a MMORPG introduced in the year of 2021, not only the game have an absolutely ugly character creator that is worst than many other older games. If you think male faces are ugly, then check out the females for a surprise. It also simply extracted assets from a 2012 game called Guild Wars 2 and paste over to this so calledMy played time is 16+ hours, and my queue time is 12+ hours. Should be renamed to Queue World because that is the only playable content so far.

    Also, the game is full off ridiculous censorship. Can't even joke with friends. Someone can report you for saying F word, and you will receive a 24 hours ban. They act all high and mighty, and treat harmless players this way. Basically no difference between the country that brings censorship to a whole new level.    … Expand

    Hard to remember game that failed this badly at launch. 4 hours in queue, did not get in. If you have a day job wait for some weeks and check back again if servers are in better shape.

    It's a fun game so far. I've only had to wait in a queue twice and the longest wait was 45 minutes. In a week or so things will probably be much smoother. I've logged roughly 15 hours over the past three days and I'm really enjoying it. I still don't get why people decided to review bomb the game based on launch day. I guess no one remembers every other AAA MMORPG launch in history. ThisIt's a fun game so far. I've only had to wait in a queue twice and the longest wait was 45 minutes. In a week or so things will probably be much smoother. I've logged roughly 15 hours over the past three days and I'm really enjoying it.     I played alpha/beta and now release. The game itself is fine but has so many glaring issues that the server issues are taking the spotlight off of its crazy. The world is designed around PVP, the servers are capped but they cannot handle the populations they intended now you have thousands of people who have put work in unable to access their characters.     When it comes to combat mechanics, combat can be super fun when you start learning how to string animations together. It will certainly not be for everyone. It has a high skill ceiling for sure. Crafting plays a huge part of the world and it is worth your time to gather. The resources are so plentiful it feels like filler to replace the fact that there the story was clearly an afterthought in this "MMO". There is PVE Content, after the community outcries "inspired" them to make a PVE end game, its not great but its there.

    The faction system is entirely impossible to balance. Soon as 1 faction takes over its pretty much over. If that faction brings an army of streamer simps, youre better off re-rolling.

    Travel time is long and boring. There are no mounts, there is only a "click here to fast travel" network. Kind of defeats the purpose of an MMO. the world sure feels small when you blink everywhere.

    Weapon balance - there isn't any, its a joke end of story.

    This game needs another 2 years of development to even be remotely close to being viable long term.    … Expand

    The worst game, 18 hours of waiting in a queue of 20 hours, according to statistics in steam. After 3 hours of waiting, I wanted to make a refund, but Steam refused me. thanks Refund my money pleeeeeas

    BE WARNED, if you wait in the queue for more than 2h, you cannot return it, cause it counts as playing!!!!!
    The best simulator of staying in queue. $1 would be expensive for this sh**!

    This game is very bad i cannot believe jefferson bezos came out with such a bad game i believe the development of new world was flawed in the sense that burger king has whobber wednesday only on wednesday but did you know sett is in new world and his ultimate does extra damage based on the size of your new world avatar

Downtime is the king of your experience, as the game actively seeks to make you waste your time going from one side of the map to the other. Now, games are meant to pass the time, but not by running around getting nothing done in them.
    The servers have no reason to be so miserably capped or have such insane weight times. this is Amazon, the owner of the largest server farm in the world.
    Amazon also failed to deliver on polish. There are games made by indie companies with more depth, polish and overall value to be had, and they don't cost $40. They don't even cost more than $15 in most cases

    a score of 2 is generous. it is an under$tandably overhyped running simulator once you defeat the ridiculous queue time with less than mediocre graphics for 2021; anyone that says the graphics are good for an MMO is probably being paid or has some sort of incentive for doing so. MAYBE a score of 4/5 IF the queue's weren't completely ludicrous.

    This Game really gives me a challenge to rate it.
    On one side, if you can manage to join a server and play it, then it is a good MMORPG.
    On the other side, there are waiting queues of up to 20k people for servers with max. 2k players. Right now, when I write this, the average waiting time for some servers are up to 50h+. So: How should I rate this? But first here some points from the    This Game really gives me a challenge to rate it.
    On one side, if you can manage to join a server and play it, then it is a good MMORPG.
    On the other side, there are waiting queues of up to 20k people for servers with max. 2k players. Right now, when I write this, the average waiting time for some servers are up to 50h+.
    So: How should I rate this?
    But first here some points from the time I played it approx. 20h and 21 Levels:
    + Really good graphics for a MMORPG
    + Good skill system w/o classes. You can skill and reskill however you want.
    + Skilling also uses Armor, which changes specific Stats. This gives more flexibility
    + Good variety of weapons for different playstyles.

    - In the beginning really repetitive
    - a few types of quest which are always the same
    - Loot chests
    - Kill x Mobs
    - Harvest Materials
    That's mostly it.
    - In your faction, you can select between 3 PvE and 3 PvP Quests. After completion, you get new PvE Quest but not new PVP Quest. They stay the same. Since release, it's the same 3 quests. I did these around 15 times now and this gets really boring.

    I can't say anything about the Faction-War-Aspect and the battles over the areas.

    So, how to rate this? Without the Server problems, I would give this game 6-7 for being a good but repetitive MMORPG which makes fun when played with other people. But even when I'm in the lucky position to have the possibility to login in the early morning when the queues are empty, I really can't keep this out. And seeing people who took vacation for release-week and only wait for many hours just to not even being able to join in the end is absolute **** At the actual state of the game, I can't give it more than a 4.    … Expand

    Lack of Russian localization. There is not so much textual information in the game, but nevertheless we do not have at least a Russian translation on release. God, the game doesn't even support the Cyrillic alphabet in the game chat! Russian-speaking players are forced to communicate in transliteration.
    Very poor character editor. Okay, in general I don't mind creating a character using pre-made face and body presets. But how terrible they are in this game ... How miserable are the face presets, hair textures .. What can we say, when the hair textures do not always fit the character model correctly. It all looks like in some cheap Korean MMORPG. Amazon, is this okay? You certainly don't expect this from a European project in this genre, especially from a renowned company.
    Bad, very bad. What we got at the release still looks damp, and I can't call it any other way than "hack-work". At this point in time, I do not recommend buying this game.    … Expand

    Qeues, lag, bugs, other errors.
    This game lokks like a joke. Bad joke.
    30+ hours i played, but only 120 minutes in-game.

    So I got home early from work and log on, 2100 I que so nice I think! Start doing stuff at home! Comes back 400 left! Than 200! Than 60! Then BOOOOM! FILDE TO JOIN LOGIN QUE!

    They couldn't even bother to add sliders to a ONE RACE character creator. Then, when you get in the pretty world, you realize they couldn't even be bothered to add a swimming animation. What a pathetic joke and the fact that gamers make excuses for this crap goes to show how absolutely desperate some people are for a new MMO to escape their miserable lives with.

    I found the game to be mediocre at best, nothing new in comparison to anything in the genre...the combat is clunky and too simple and the queue right now don´t help.

    The combat feels clunky, the animation is strange when your hit confirm and when there are multiple people together melee feels horrible. The worst part for me tough is the generic monster that you see all the time...     Few abilities, in fact, 3 for each gun, this is weak.
    Quests are as boring and miserable as possible. There are two types of quests:
    Go open the chests / Go kill the mobs. If quests with chests are still tolerable, then quests where you need to kill rare mobs (not minibosses) are disgusting. You will have to run around the location like a moron for 15 minutes and wait until the cherished creature spawns. And so about 6 times.

    And finally the queue. Developed, are you serious? I haven't seen such a lousy attitude towards players for a long time. If you want to play more than one, then please go to the server for 3 hours, but this was not enough for the developers and they decided that it would be nice to knock out some kind of connection error every half an hour so that everything would start anew. A queue simulator, not otherwise.    … Expand

    Queues, long long long long waiting times to get onto the server. Imagine you wait 1,5-2 hours to get into the server, you play for 2 hours and then go to walk the dog. You get disconnected for inactivity. You come back to another 3 hours!! waiting time. Anticipated the game so much, but it just seems unnecessary unfair.

    Absolute trash fire of a game. Does 2000 players even count as an MMO? This game has massive problems ahead. Server merges will be frequent with such limited player counts on servers. Give it a month or two and this game will be a ghost town.

    Addicting game, amazon needs to power up the servers capacity, but at least if you choose wisely u no need to wait long queue. Game with almost NO lag, no important bugs, beutiful world and non anime based MMO is always good.

    This game is extremely addicting. As for the long queues? I onky really experienced it the first day of launch, but everything ran extremely smooth as I immersed myself in Aeternum after the 1600 player queue. The next day, the queue was near instant.

    When i firstly got closed alpha 1.5-2 years ago, i was super hyped. Now i see, that amazon in that time done nothing. Optimisation problems, queues, monotonous quests that just make you run half of ur life to them, disbalance with fractions and not interesting pve content with hard grinding. New company that will take from blizzard "small indie company" title

    New world succeeded in attracting attention, but the gameplay is actually monotonous and somewhat boring. Lack of endgame content is also worrying. Overall disappointment.

    Well, first day-10000-20000 queues, login errors, disconnects. Got to the game after server restart- DISCONNECT in 30 minutes. After that 1500 queue, 3 hours- 700 queue. Support- CREATE NEW CHAR ON EMPTY server. This is queue simulator with disconnect bonuses and NEW QUEUE. 0/10 i cant play this sheeet

    New World is an mmo that could be straight out of 2010. It hardly adds any new ideas to the genre and therefore feels dated in content. The faction system offers interesting possibilities for wars between players, but is not yet balanced. New World demands a lot of time from its players, but does not actually give anything in return that we have not seen before. Graphically, everything is fine, and although the game has microtransactions, they are only of a cosmetic nature. There is no subscription: for the entrance fee, the entire base game is open to you.

    New World is such a large MMO that we will have to spend our time in the vast world of Aethernum. While some mechanics or functionalities don't have much of a place nowadays, it has other things that seem to me to be genuine and cutting edge in terms of massively multiplayer online development.
