    This game could have been good, but it just didn't make it. It was fun at first, until you started to see through the veil. It feels like an unfinished cash grab, very repetitive endgame, not very innovative for a new MMO. It's sad as it had such a cool concept.

    This could be a great game but the inventory mechanics and the issue with gold is just bothering me to much. I am constantly full and can not store my items. Not sure why realy every game is using the same annoying mechanic. ( small inventory / storage / weight ) Systems. Also the balancing is just like every mobile game is. Easy at the beginning and you get one shot at the end.

    First of all, I'm pretty sure they didn't consider any of the feedback from players in the Closed Beta and Open Beta.     First of all, I'm pretty sure they didn't consider any of the feedback from players in the Closed Beta and Open Beta. They may have read it, they may have reviewed it, but they did not find it worth applying it to the game. Because, instead of many features given feedback, they continued to progress on the roadmap that the company designed in-house. However, as a game developer company, you are offering this game to players, not stakeholders. To the players!

    It made almost all players happy with the PvP Scaling System in the Closed Beta. Not Level, but just using skills wisely and wise character builds were important. However, they changed PvP Scaling due to a few narrow-minded players who think that MMORPG games are only level-oriented. Now that there is no PvP Scaling or reduced illogically, these narrow-minded fellows, thanks to their high level, are looking forward to taking away the pleasure of players who activate PvP for low-level-only Faction Missions. This is a very sad situation; Imagine it.

    The launch was not as grand as promised; Amazon Games has flooded EU servers from all over the world because (maybe) of the vulnerabilities in their servers and because they didn't release the game all over the world at the same time. Currently (September 28th, 2021), as EU players, we have been waiting for more than 5000 or more people (sometimes less) in the queue for hours... Sometimes the queue never changes! We need bigger servers, not new ones.

    Last laugh combat mechanics... PvE combat mechanics fail incredibly. I’ve been playing MMORPG for centuries (irony), and I’ve never come across such a failed combat mechanic. Stagger does not work properly, some creatures and animals do ridiculously large and irrelevant damage. Bears, for example, are neither staggered nor stunned. After one attack, they make the third and fourth attacks in a row on the second line. These are bears, not boxers.

    First, you should have looked at how animals and creatures in other MMOs work. It was very interesting that you developed such a mechanic, which I can’t even name, while there are tons of successful and unsuccessful examples around. Like Last Laugh, every creature strikes the final blow even as they die.

    Quest designs are constantly repetitive. Extremely illogical and not at all creative. Especially after 24+ missions, you understand this lack of creativity and irrationality more clearly. You interact with the same NPC to do the quest in the same region at least 5 times. The reward is not satisfactory at all.

    There are 4-5 different creatures in the whole game, and all of them were poured into the game by Amazon Games by copy-pasting the whole map, just by changing their stats, as if they were pouring salt on the food. The interior design of the buildings, the interior design of the forts, in fact, everything in the game is copied-pasted everywhere in the same way. I have never seen this much laziness! It's a shame!

    The game is in its first phase of extended open beta, not the full version. Almost everything is broken!

    Now, on the bright side, players who want to "just" enjoy the PvE content of the game can still do so. The balance of the game's content, world, story and builds against PvE looks very good. However, don't do PvP Faction quests alone or even with five friends! Join a Company and do it with teams of over 20-30 people.

    Am I still playing the game? Yes. Mostly, PvE.

    You can spend days trying to get a group together and it is likely they will be trying something they have no chance of doing because the competent tanks quit out of frustration or boredom. Those that can dps stay quiet and instead go dps. Being a tank is boring and thankless. It is one of 2 classes that cant participate in PVP effectively because pvp has become so divergent that it is a separate game and dps, in comparison with tanks and healers are massively out of balance with them. So they become largely pve classes. But with no tanks, there is no pve and no groups. You can spend days waiting for nothing. Everyone is so bored with minute amount of end game content and the cheap and low effort repetitiveness of the same dungeons over and over and none more so than tanks (in particular) and healers. You could make other characters but the way they made the game is so badly designed that you need banks and banks full of equipment for equip one (Angry Earth Ward, Corruption Ward, Ancient Ward, Lost Ward and PVP if you aren't a tank or healer or just want to do it anyway. Trying managing that lot. It is bad enough for one, let alone two or three classes. So they managed to push enough tanks out that it is no longer viable at all and nothing left to do. It has been talked about for a year and they did nothing to stop it even as more and more left or respecced.

    Not region locking is huge. When you don't have any ability to communicate with anyone else it is making it feel like you are basically playing with bots. That is the number one flaw and it effects everything else.

    I love the world they created. It is amazing. I played a lot of hours but a lot of it I am just farming while watching netflix or amazon to be honest. Though it is nice to have it open and craft etc while doing something else. To be honest, it badly lacks content otherwise.

    On a gaming level. I have literally played almost every online MMO since everquest 1 beta onward and this is the most obviously class delineated pvp game since then. There are pvp classes, and those that are nerfed into oblivion. Unfortunately, several classes are really tedious to play because they are at a disadvantage in pvp (healer/tanks). Yet the game needs more healers and tanks to survive. Because they didn't fix this, getting groups is a real nightmare and I have been through three servers now because they merged following a server population crash. Every one of them you lose friends and concentrates the bot population and off service sellers.

    Massive amounts of different armour sets for each role you play. It is sheer hell and very quickly becomes unwieldy and boring to manage switching and endless managing of your various banks.

    Fortunately, though it takes a huge amount of time and grind, you could respec. ( Most just leave ). It is just generally a massively repetitive grinding experience.

    I do like the style and the graphics, big time. It is beautiful. The crafting is also very broad yet in some ways just not worth it for some skills (armourer). But the content was designed by folk without seemingly understanding how normal people might engage with it or appreciate a forced and tedious grind without new things to do in the end.

    PvP is a stun locking affair and in the main, it is as much down to which class you are and whether you kept up to date with the youtube and so on sites telling you what the current meta is. The focus on ranged is an obvious one and it is disappointing that they don't seem to get that this is a problem as old as Everquest 1!.
    It begins with creating the right sort of build and gear and understanding the skills and builds you are likely to be fighting. But it is not very rewarding in practical terms either, so pvp feels a bit pointless half the time as it is a side show and limited by class and the very repetitive and unrewarding battlegrounds. It's almost like 2 separate games.    … Expand

    Game is good but the game is suffering with hacks and bots since release and they keep ignoring the issues. They have money but they don't hire a security Dev to fix the game.

    It's Oct 2022. The game still has server queue issues DAILY.
    I now have to wait 3-4 hours just to play it.
    And they don't provide you with a free token to move your character to a less populated server.
    So if you buy this you might not be able to enjoy it

    A couple of days ago they literally permabanned my girlfriend and she asked me for help to resolve it with their customer support. This issue seemed simple enough...     Now, because they refuse to watch the gamelog, which would show this is a case of two people making a minor one time trade and then writing each other about their confusion. They decided to lump her into the group of exploiters who make economy crashing amounts of currency as a continuous strategy.

    Game in on death bed, bugs, lag, desync, item and money duplication, weapon balance keeps getting worse with every patch, they say they fixed thousands of bugs but with each patch, thousands more are added... I have uninstalled and the game and will never touch it again.

    The game is beautiful. It lacks content, variety, anything novel or any real story. I got the impression the big decisions were made for money reasons by business people who never were gamers. Amazon should stick to delivering products to consumers and especially it's Kindle books. Books are it's roots and what it is good at if it keeps it's political views out of it. Consumer items to deliver is an extension of the expertise delivering books prior to Kindle. Gaming is a whole different business and their corporate business folks know nothing about how to do that well and don't seem to care. A bit lacking in endgame content from what I've heard (that's what you get for racing to endgame in a new MMO...) and the leveling content is a bit too repetitive. While this is a drawback, it's hardly noticeable if you let yourself explore, gather, craft, fight over territory in PvP and spend time making some friends.

    Not the greatest game of all time, definitely the best looking MMO since FF14 1.0, best combat in an MMO for sure (unless you like Korean MMOs in which case you may prefer BDO). If you've ever played Albion, this is a lot like a beautiful, improved and more fun version of that, played from a 3rd person perspective rather than isometric.

    Several months later: This game sucks, every update breaks stuff, the economy is ruined, the crafting is pointless, the gathering is ruined (thank you bots and thank you AGS for not caring at all)... This game is awful. I did get about 80 hours out of it, but it's an MMO. I don't feel like I got 80 hours of fun for $40, I feel like I wasted 80 hours *and* $40.

    It is probably the worse MMORPG i have ever played. Don't seem that it was released in 2021. There are no enoght content, the quest are ALL the same, mobs are all similar, only color and name changes from region to region. And there are SO MANY BUGS, people already have duped end game items and gears, so not worth.

    About the inventory. The Inventory system in this game is based on weight which is just bad. Everything I start the game and try to loot or store my loot, I just can't because all my storage has reached the weight limit. I immediatly get frustrated and disconnect from the game. Amazon also gives random bans for no reason at all. You wrote a word someone didn't like it? he reports you and you get the ban. You are standing in the city and someone just is bored and reports people for fun ? Yes you get banned. I am not sure if this is still a thing but it WAS a thing as I Played this trash of a game.

    Bugs are not getting fixed. Bugs day one are still in the game. You have only 2 Character slots. Inflation in the game is just unreal. Why MMOs suffer from the same illness. Why devs never set a cap to prices of items. Like Long Sword min. price 10 gold and max price a player can set 50. This way you can not grow inflation in the game but not even 1 game has that mechanic.

    Ballancing is just a joke, there are Light, Medium and Heavy armor. If you don't play Heavy, you won't survive for long. Even as a tank I received damage that I felt wearing Light armor. Also an illness in all MMOs, the Tank class. It's just another joke. I don't know why they keep calling it a tank class when it just can survive 1-2 more hits.

    Dungeons are a joke. I don't understand why dungeons have to be trash in EVERY MMO. The lvl 24 Dungeon is fine but after that one, any other dungeon is trash. You are even forced to do them since there are main quests with dungeons. You even need keys to be able to make a dungeon. People with ideas like that should not be allowed to make games.

    Walking Simulator, this game does not have mounts. You are forced to walk all over the map. There are teleports but they are crazy overpriced. You can get 1000 Azoth but 1 teleport with full inventory can kost around 500+ What kind of idio.... made this system. I've tried almost 300 hours to play the game and lvld as slow as possible because the repair cost of items is also totally overpriced which is another an illness of MMOs. My repair cost was higher than I got gold back from quests. 1 Quest gave around 30-110 gold and repairing my whole gear which is 10-30% damage, repair cost 180 gold. This game could be the best MMO but all these negative things, just made me uninstall the game. It's just to frustrating and stressfull. Also this game is focused on PvP like all MMO games are. There are no PvE MMOs out there which is sad.    … Expand

    the time sinks are just too many and too much. crafting is my biggest gripe and the lack of end game pvp and pve.

    i dont like how they did crafting. need t1 to make t2 and t1 and t2 to make t3 stuff f-ing lazy and stupid.
    its like a farming sim instead of an actual mmo.

    Dieses MMORPG sieht zwar schön aus und hat ein spannendes Konzept, aber das Gameplay und die Missionen sind mittelmäßig. Viele Quests sind repetitive und bleiben auf Dauer langweilig. Es wird das Grundkonzept eines MMOs verfehlt, da die Langzeitmotivation außen vor bleibt (4/10).

Я мучался от синих экранов и 30 фпс с учетом того что у меня хороший компьютер! Скучные квесты (убей 10, открой 5, собери 5) и это все квесты в игре! Сюжета нет вообще! Лор где-то там в записках, я что в соулсы играю?? Геймплей 3 кнопки в ММО!Худшая ММОРПГ в которую я играл! Столько хайпа было а игре буквально все плохо. The colonial aesthetic is a cool change. But everything after Level 30 just falls apart. I can say that I went from love to hate since the beta. PVE experience is garbage. Weapon meta renders most of them utterly useless. Again, you won't know this until you get past level 30. There's no incentive to group up for PVE quests so you can forget about 30 to 40 percent of the quests because they're simply too difficult solo. Even dungeons are tough because people are paying in game gold to buy a slot in a dungeon group, and won't take anyone that can't carry them. I don't buy the positive reviews here because surely Amazon has the money to pay people to write these cookie cutter reviews. Game is bad and they don't know how to fix.… Expand

    In other news players are wanting developers to play through a high end area of the game that they heavily nerfed to be totally unplayable as players not in your group can easily grief your party.
    Hilarity will ensue if they actually play this on a live server.

    But then AGS realized it would not bring in the MOST POSSIBLE AMOUNT OF CASH

    The game starts fun, but as soon as you hit endgame. It becomes a bug fest and one of the worst games I have ever played. They do alot of things client side, which is ridiculous for an online game. They were asking for hackers. This is what they got.

    Game is in a very bad spot, even tho the start of the game was fun.

    in the worst possible scenario. Frankly speaking, "Old World" not only was a lie, but it still follows it's auto destruction path.

    From skill demanding, pretty balanced game(not perfect, but that was a good core to start), they took away most of good PVP mechanics, to please casual players they wanted to bring and use them to get money. PVP players started to quit and it was only worse. When You create a game around PVP systems, and you take them away, you are left with nothing - Unfinished details that were supposed to supplement the PVP part.
    They thought it will be a good idea to put those unfinished tiny details in the center of the game, to get more money from PVE players, which allowed it? Not sure who is worse.

    Many people warned Amazon that their ideas to destroy world will have consequences, and many offered solutions - They did the total opposite and online from nearly one million, landed on something between 120-150k depending on day. Economy is a disaster, game has no purpose and it's boring. It brings no challenge, nothing interesting, no immersion as all the flavors were wiped out. Many systems aren't working and are built to make you grind tons of your time to achieve...what exactly? Better gear? They introduced lately another grind system to that...so your grind will be more grindy now. Each patch the game is getting worse and people are praying for it to have a turn like UO or WoW did, with private servers doing the right thing.

    I strongly recommend to stop supporting company that promises you one, you stick to it for years and then they just wipe the floor with you and take your money. It shows total disrespect to players.

    I can say good things about game of course, Graphic looks nice, sounds of surroundings are nice, but game was a PVP centric, engaging and unique thing with all the flavors built around them. They destroyed it completely so if you are looking for:

    - Smashing your keyboard in PVP to spam what you can in Cooldown+LMB based combat where nothing you do feels anyhow impactful
    - See the same enemies for 90% of your time, with boring attacks, being 0 challenge
    - Grind up to 55 level to find first engaging boss in a dungeon that becomes easy after 1-3 tries
    - Have close to useless crafting with tons of items you need to do to just grind to few usable
    - Extremely boring world after few weeks
    - Team that doesn't give a damn about you and avoid speaking regarding their hypocrisy and players they literally milked out of money and dumped (this should be taken into court...)
    - Multiple tries to see where they can milk you more
    - Typical modern game that isn't about the art, but rather about objectives you need to do to play it(so you grind, grind, grind grind and they will add more grinds so you can play more and eventually buy that skin or two...)

    Then this is your game!

    Old World - Where everything that was fked up in games for past 5+ years, was tossed to an island called Aeternum. where you have landed by accident and need to survive this and get out!

    Generally, it's a disappointment, just read their forums, game is a mess and team doesn't even bother of talking to people, they use PR type of statements. It's comparable to movies - You can for sure make your oscar winning LOTR...But you want to play political or get money and you kinda fk up that GoT or Witcher...

    I want to point out - I was there nearly since start and I was playing till last month, I had nearly everything and explored nearly all. I didn't talk about bugs, or tons of problems they had from start till now on purpose, because if the game would be good, people would be with them anyway, despite those issues...but they are not.

    I got to the endgame and then they changed the system with a patch that made everything more difficult and grindy. Each patch feels worse than the last. Moved it down to 0 simply because I noticed that a lot of accounts are creating 1 review with a 9 or 10 to try and pull this rating up.

The grind aspect of the game is intentional, they will soon be adding experience bonus's for leveling and crafting to the store. Its an mmo mobile game. Grind or pay to win. Take your pic.

All in all the game needed at least 6 more months in development, proper alpha and beta testing aswel as the management/development team of amazon to actually listen to the community.     One of the worst games I’ve played. Filled with so many bugs and has very bad optimization. Exploiters and cheaters everywhere. Executive decisions are terrible and has made more than half of the player base quit. I’ve never been so disappointed in any product. I feel scammed.

    Imagine this:
    - while trying to fix the dupe exploit (gold and items multiplication), they created another bug for duping gold and had to shut everything down;
    - while trying to refund players for losing money because of AGS incompetence (a good deed), they made a mistake in database and gave everyone 1000x refund about, thus breaking the whole economy. They had to backup from 10 hours earlier, wasting everyones time. But this is not all. They broke auction house - people who sold anything did not receive any gold. They also bugged all players who did a transfer that day - characters are completely stuck. So all in all, while trying to compensate players for losing gold, they made players lose even more gold.
    - they did a PTR for their big 1.1 patch. They did not change a single thing from feedback. Moreover, they added stealth changes to live servers that people absolutely hate (making the grind for watermark like x3 longer, like it wasn't already stupid and bad), as well as buff Myrkgard mobs and portals to the extent that 1 mob can now kill 40 people with 1 charge, including heavy HP tanks.

    They don't test 99% of things and screw up. And even when they test (1.1 ptr was the only thing), they do not listen to feedback, they usually don't fix bugs, and when they do, they usually make things worse and create new bugs.

    Beside that, „ a mile wide and an inch deep“: More grind than any Asia grinder, complete ignorance what players want, abyssmal communication and support, most buggy code fundation ever - really amateur time. If AGS invests another year at least, it might become worth your time.

    Everything to be perfect, with a competent staff, which it does not have. I really love it but there are so many bugs and exploits and whenever 1 is fixed 2 new ones are created. AGS is more focused in creating future content than it is in fixing content that already exists but doesnt work. If you like crafting turn around and run cuz that is especialy bugged

Crafting needs a little work at the high scores, once you get into the 175s it gets a little rough. Lot of bugs and glitches need to still be ironed out. I plan on coming back if the fix all the problems. It's going to take some workFun in the beginning but gets very grindy. Made it to level 58 with 244 hours played. The severity of the condition of this game is without question in disaster territory despite the initial popularity and huge promise it had. I genuinely don't think there will be permanent meaningful changes to this game as many of the issues seem to be fundamentally ingrained like copy/paste maps and areas, all enemies are replicated models. It is one extreme game-breaking problem after another, either being discovered or formed. The invulnerability problem and the development circumstances surrounding it is really bad on AGS' behalf as there is a proven inability to foresee a client-based problem that is reportedly very basic in game development and it seems similar problems will occur in the future. There is no meaningful objective to the game or reason to level and build your character like a normal MMO. Questing is an absolute dire experience throughout all progress. Cross the whole map with normal movement speed > kill under-levelled enemies or collect things > cross the map > repeat. The mechanically good crafting system feels nearly completely pointless. You can spend several hours gathering materials and levelling the various crafting skills to create something yourself only for it to be peanuts in the auction house equivalent (trading station). This system is now completely rebroken as of 27th October and has worsened. I spent hours attempting to be skilled enough in level to make a tool myself, never to reach it with such low material yield and then find that you can purchase it for next to nothing.… Expand

I have never seen a more desperate push for content to try and stabilize the overwhelming bleed-out of players - losing about 10% of player base day-over-day since patch. They have skin schedule already marked out for Black Friday and the 100%As of 11/20/2021 a couple of days in the wake after 1.1 game is literally been nerfed and dev's have pushed progression straight out the window. I have never seen a more desperate push for content to try and stabilize the overwhelming bleed-out of players - losing about 10% of player base day-over-day since patch. They have skin schedule already marked out for Black Friday and the 100% have skins already lined up for Christmas. This game is becoming the biggest cash grab I have seen yet. They do not have any customer support- it's like talking to a wall. My friend got banned for no reason, he was casual only lvl 42, he's falled into depression and a lot of us have decided to quit the game until we can get justice for him.

    I have defended the game as much as I could and after the 3rd duping exploit I have had enough.

    In short: There's absolutely no content in this game, no end game, same 5 missions from level 0-60. Everything is a grind fest to slow you down, but even if/when you max something out, there's nothing to do with it. Game launched with 970k players, averages 150k now and they merging servers less than a month in.

Have fun cutting down literally tens of thousands of trees to level your lumber jacking skill to have a crafting system that is only important end game. There is no reasonable way to make any gear as you level up as the materials are so rare the the skills level so slowly in comparison to your rate of growth that you will just buy gear or find it off mobs. Take a look through all the different armors and builds you can choose from and then only use heavy armor because the damage buff you get from light armor doesn't scale faster then the armor growth. The healing buff from light armor actually just doesn't work either. Play through the story with any character you want but know if you choose anything but the high DPS weapons you will do it way slower. Still not a problem till you get to a story mission that is a boss locked behind a wall that no one but people with the quest can pass. Once again not a problem except that he constantly heals. I hope you are not playing solo healer as you physically can't deal enough damage to kill him.

    TLDR: So if a game where you can't play the unbalanced PvP until you get to max level, there is no armors viable except heavy, and you want to spend literally hundreds of hours doing menial gathering to get to the point it is usable, then this is the game for you.    … Expand

    All in all a decent enough game that is so laughably flawed at it's core given how group dynamics work. AGS should have seen this coming. I saw this coming. They should be better than this given the amount of money on the line. In PoE you can use all sorts of totems that do all sorts of stuff. Maybe later in the game you get gems or something that modify effects and add more depth to theory crafting? Right now it(combat) is super basic. Some of the skills on cooldown are normal attacks that do more damage?

    The aimed throw hatchet passive imo gives enough mid-range combat dynamic with resource management to make the game's combat fun.

    MMO progression? At this stage I couldn't tell you what my character level is. I can say I have enough points in spear & hatchet to use all their activation skills. I think I have two active skills unlocked in swords and shield. I couldn't say what my crafting levels are. I can say I have yet to find a plant that gives me fibers to craft clothes(even though I go to the areas indicated on the map under resource area locations (turns out the starting level area consists of 3 territories and the one you begin in is resource scarce)). I don't know when progression kicks in but it is typically a thing in mmos to unlock new environs or skills or something that one would look forward to.

    It doesn't look like "battlegrounds" begin until the level cap. And I imagine if I get there I will have to go even further to get passable gear. In most theme park mmos it is a part of leveling progression and in GW2 you can go into battlegrounds with a level capped/gear capped character right away.

    27 hours in: wayyyyyy to much farming. If I want a better pointy stick I have to farm for my life.

    48 hours in: this game feels like a court-martial simulation. This notion is premised on the poor integration between the different parts of the game.

    You go to this designated area to pound rocks for a while to level rock pounding and what you use the pounded rocks for. You go to the designated area to thresh plants for a while to level plant threshing and whatever use the threshed plants for. You can go pretty much anywhere to level tree pounding and whatever you used the pounded trees for. Only skinning makes sense since you do it anyway while questing.

    To quest you go forced march to designated quest area and perform solo combat maneuvers then force march back to quest drop off location(this is pretty common in mmos except for the forced march part).

    To dungeon delve you have to solicit in chat instead of queueing in a dungeon finder while reading a book or whatever else it is you do. This doesn't so much follow the court-martial theme but it's still pretty shoddy.

    And this is a court-martial themed game at least until you hit the level cap and do real combat?

    The game dies at around level 30. Crafting levels are out of sync with drops. Questing becomes laborious. Crafting gatherables become background stuff. If this game were shampoo your scalp would probably look like Jeff Bezos's. This is worse than many Korean mmos.    … Expand

    Extremely buggy that people are cheating and exploiting left right and center. Amazon is incompetent at making MMOs, they fix one bug creating 5 other bugs that can be exploited. It's a shame the game could of been really good. And it runs poorly on a RTX 3080 OC and Ryzen 7 5800X barely gets over 60 frames and that's even using GeForce recommended setting.

    People were cheating for weeks, getting like 1bln coins, maxing out all their skills, getting the best gear, obliterating everyone in pvp and capturing all the cities. And all of this resulted in getting a temporary 24h ban.
    There are exploits for everything: duping gold, invulnerability, enormous weapon damage, instant skill cooldowns, instant healing, etc.
    If you're into cheating, this game is for you. If you're extremely unlucky, in the worst case scenario (you run a twitch stream while using an exploit), you might get banned... for a day or two, just to come back and continue to abuse exploits.
    Anyway, let's get to the gameplay.
    - Character creator. It's just non existent. There are like 2 body types, 10 faces and 10 hair styles to choose from. And that's it! There's no way to change race, height, hair length, voice or boob size. To be fair you'll be wearing armor and helmets so you wouldn't even see your character that much.
    - Hair animations are not there. The hair is just stuck to the head. It will go right through theirs helmet and body, so the bolder- the better.
    - No swimming. There is none. The character will just walk under water until they die.
    - No mounts. Lets say, there's a quest on the other side of the map. You'll have to run there on foot for like 20 minutes of real time. It's good for pvp- there is no way a raid would just warp behind your back, and you can just control all roads to the city. I'd totally love to have some kind of mount just to move faster.
    - Fast travel is... weird. You can warp to any city once per hour. You can also walk into the teleport and warp anywhere by spending a specific type of currency that's also needed to improve crafting results. It's either you teleport once a day, or you craft like 10 great items.
    - PVP factions system. It feels rather dated. There are like 6 repetitive quests u can do to get some gear and ranks. You can also fight for castles... but u can't unless you're in top 50 pvp in your faction. So, most likely, you will never get to play huge scale pvp. Oh, and there is no equalizing of factions. So, everyone just joins 1 faction and the other two are outnumbered like 10 to 1. Anyway, I've cooperated with random guys, joined a group and did get some frags.
    - Guilds. There seems to be no way to apply for a guild unless you create your own, or yell in chat and get invited... They didn't let me join, so there's not much I can say about it.
    - Crafting. I like it. You got to spend hours running around chopping wood, fishing, hunting and collecting herbs. Then you just come back into town and craft the hell out of it. Lotsa components are interchangeable, so you will be able to craft a ton of stuff at once.
    - Classes. There are no classes, and that's great! You can pick up any weapon you want and just use it. The more enemies you kill- the better you get. You unlock skills and perks of a specific weapon. There are 2 sets of weapons you can carry simultaneously. So, you can shoot enemies with a gun, and switch to shield and sword when they get close. Oh, and armor is fully independent. One can create a heavy armored close combat healer. Skill cooldowns are rather long (about 20s), so you can switch between weapons and use skills from both. There are only 3 skill slots per weapon, but it's not a big deal. Combat is still fun- you have to aim, block and evade, not just press LMB to win.
    - Optimization. The game is running at around 144fps on a 3080, all settings maxed out. In towns, when there are like 100 players running around on screen, it drops to about 80fps. And the game looks absolutely awesome!
    - There seems to be no way to sell stuff to NPCs, only to players.

    All in all, New World is fun to play. It might not have the best character creator or the best quests, but the gameplay is good. It offers a ton of stuff to do. You wouldn't be running around talking to NPCs and reading some boring dialogues for 3 months like in FF14. Though I hope they'll add some stuff to polish the game here and there. And once you beat the game and get bored of pointless farming (took me about 3 weeks), you can just turn on one of hundreds exploits out there and start hacking with no risk of getting banned.     Login queues and such aside, this is the most boring MMO I have played. It's just so... mediocre. It's well made, though, just so boring. 95% of the time is spent on autorun, and the 2-3 different mob types get boring fast.

    PvP would be another pillar of New World if it wasn't for another exploits that Everyone that wants to win uses (not gonna go into details you can pick that up for yourself) and I'm not talking about duels and stuff, altho you could use it there too, but mainly the big guild vs guild wars in the endgame. And I believe up till now AGS haven't even addressed it.

    This is just the tip of the iceberg btw, not gonna bother list all the problems this game has right now, and besides 5k characters would probably not be enough.

    Before I said I had fun, where was the fun had you ask? When you put some music or podcast in the background and go gathering and questing and you're none the wiser to these problems, but what would that make people? Mindless drones that AGS is all too happy to squeeze dry to boost the game popularity and their wallets. I've been there and I regret it. And I genuinely wanted this game to be good and to have fun but this is insulting.

    If you want to turn your brain off and go up to Lv 60 be it via questing, gathering or whatever it's perfectly fine, get back your moneys worth, but Right Now, it would be pointless. You have 3 skills which you unlock at level 3, fight the same monsters over and over, the grinding is horrible (coming from someone who played wow for years and used to have fun mining and gathering mats) The fighting is clunky. When you die your item break even the items that are in your inventory, unequipped, and even in PVP. Save your money don't buy thisThis game is soooo boring.     WRC 10 was released several days earlier and is the latest in the long-running gathering series. That is never exceptionally sorted out some way to fight with more reasonable games like Dirt Rally, atleast as yet.

    New World is fun for about your first ten hours as you gain new abilities and start to discover the world. However, you quickly realize that they are hiding a lack of content by sending you out on quests that both have a faraway goal and a faraway turn in point. Combat also quickly devolves to using the same rotation for all of the enemies.

    Lets put New World into comparison with WoW when it was released ~17 years ago. WoW came with 14 playable races, 6 classes with each having around 30-45 abilities (Not counting the talent tree active abilities). Meanwhile New World is released with 1 race, 6 weapons (what you could count as classes) what each comes with ~ 6    In short the game is shallow, boring and unenjoyable.

    Lets put New World into comparison with WoW when it was released ~17 years ago. Meanwhile New World is released with 1 race, 6 weapons (what you could count as classes) what each comes with ~ 6 abilities. So basically in 2004 they released MMORPG with ~180 abilities and in 2021 they release game with 36 abilities in total.

    One could argue that more abilities doesn't nececeraly mean better game. In League of Legends (Ofc it is not a MMORPG) each character come with 4 abilities and still it is one of the most popular games. So you can see game doesn't need 36 abilities per character, but what it need is to abilities make game enjoyable and New World fails.

    There are few things that New World gets right- There is no timegating, no layering or instancing in zones. You actually have to aim with bows. You are stuck with one server, means people you see are there "forever" (obviously they can quit or buy server transfer). But these few thing aren't enough to outweigh something like boring gameplay or missing endgame. And these are big problems. More you play more you notice smaller problems like missing images, generic monsters that you see even after playing 100 hours.

    And as you play more you start to also see major flaws in concept. LIke if you joined later and you server is mostly done with leveling part it is hard to find players for dungeons. Because there is no need for alts, new players are more scarce and when there ain't much of a new players means there is lack of your level players to play with. Most people are running with PVP mode off, means you aren't going to get spontaneous PVP action in the world. Markets item prices are at minimum, because everyone can craft everything and those why most of the items lose their value.

    Fallout 76 was criticized for having no NPC. New World NPC's aren't anything special either. They act as just static points on map that just give you quests. Fallout 76 story was all on audiotapes and voiceacted, while New World story is in text. Fallout 76 had atleast one friendly NPC (wandering super mutant) that actually interacted with it's surrounding by attacking enemies. Meanwhile New World NPC's do nothing. Yet Fallout 76 called crap because of missing NPC, while New World, that has even worse NPC, get called "A good game".    … Expand

There are certainly some wow factors to this game, but in the end, that's all stuff that gets boring after a while.     -PVP 50 with random selection of registered players except if a guild and tag it can kick registered players and choose its members.

    -The skills amazon did not look very far 3 skills max, two talent trees per weapon if you want a perfect build out of the ordinary forget everyone is playing the same thing.

    -Server bah that lag the servers are in total pick-up.
    Have you just purchased the game and your friends are on a locked server for new players? too bad you're going to have to play a solo mmo on your own, isn't it cool?

    -Bestiaire everything is similar even their attacks by their damage a bear that you will kill quite easily bah the second goes oneshoot limit ...
    -vocal system in play the worst system ever you enter a city either you go between a guy telling this thrilling life or hear the children crying you can turn it off and I highly recommend you.
    -Chat ingame you want by to a person next to you impossible there is no chat / say so everyone sees what you are saying.
    Or his flood as not possible and insults them from everywhere for nothing cat cancer ...

    I expected a lot from new world but frankly it should have stayed in beta and listened to the players a little more

    New World is an mmo that could be straight out of 2010. It hardly adds any new ideas to the genre and therefore feels dated in content. The faction system offers interesting possibilities for wars between players, but is not yet balanced. New World demands a lot of time from its players, but does not actually give anything in return that we have not seen before. Graphically, everything is fine, and although the game has microtransactions, they are only of a cosmetic nature. There is no subscription: for the entrance fee, the entire base game is open to you.

    New World is such a large MMO that we will have to spend our time in the vast world of Aethernum. While some mechanics or functionalities don't have much of a place nowadays, it has other things that seem to me to be genuine and cutting edge in terms of massively multiplayer online development.
