Apr 13, 2016Moon Hunters is a gem, and deserves to be a memorable constellation in the indie games scene.
-
Mar 9, 2016Though the hardcore crowd may scoff at its unsophisticated combat system and the lack of a serious challenge, Moon Hunters' gorgeous presentation and unique brand of storytelling will absorb anyone who wishes to explore the countless sagas of an enchanting fantasy world.
-
Games Master UKMay 18, 2016There's a unique, endearing quality to Moon Hunters worth tracking down. [May 2016, p.83]
-
Apr 17, 2016It's a shame Moon Hunters isn't more polished on the technical side since it's a very interesting game we've really enjoyed.
-
Apr 3, 2016Moon Hunters is a short, engaging game, innovative in its approach to replay value, with each subsequent playthrough increasing in depth and pleasure.
-
Apr 4, 2016Moon Hunters is a non consistent game that wants to bravely show a different gameplay, though the intriguing potentialities of the latter were not realized as initially thought. However, it is a quite solid game, funny both in single player and in co-op mode.

CD-ActionJan 12, 2017The Moon delights us with its entire glory just once a month – on other nights it looks unfinished. The same goes for Moon Hunters, which has its moments but its story seems incomplete and gameplay mechanics are too simple. [13/2016, p.59]

Sep 7, 2016While Moon Hunters may not be the perfect game, it nobly aims for the stars, and for that alone it is memorable.
-
Apr 20, 2016A short adventure worthy of the breezy gamer's attention — once multiplayer is fixed.
-
Edge MagazineMay 1, 2016There's something to be said for a game that lets you elope with the final boss, but otherwise Moon Hunters' light wanes a little more quickly than we'd expected. [May 2016, p.123]
-
Mar 10, 2016A pixelated Diablo-like with a beautiful presentation and an unfortunate lack of content, Moon Hunters is hard to recommend to anyone other than people with three friends locally.
-
Mar 28, 2016Moon Hunters is an artistic game that fails almost completely in delivering an interesting and fun gameplay. Maybe too ambitious, it may have a good story to tell but it’s deeply buried in too much time of uninspired gameplay.
-
Mar 21, 2016Moon Hunters doesn't give you the time to truly nestle into its world in one sitting, relying instead on the idea that they’ll keep coming back to uncover more and more with each successive playthrough. I wish I could say that at some point it all started to come together for me, but it didn't. It never felt like I was getting enough out of those playthroughs to make them truly worthwhile.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jun 20, 2016Too much ambition send Moon Hunters to mere mediocrity. The graphics will probably charm you, but procedurally generated gameplay will not. [Issue#264]
