Summary:
Following their escape from the fearsome Class-A monster Jeb, Wraith recovers from his injuries in the secluded hunting cabin of their monster team-member, Gem. But safety is fleeting.
Gem, burdened by the knowledge of his impending fatherhood, questions his allegiance. He understands his children need other monsters to reproduce, starting to weigh if he is on the right side.
Meanwhile, Harse and Gila grapple with their own doubts, particularly as Gila is controlled by a brain chip implanted by the manipulative Major Hanson. Loyalty is tested on all fronts.
