Sep 21, 2021Adventure accessible in an intriguing and heavy universe, Monobot has a gameplay which, without reinventing the genre, manages to renew itself before being off-putting. If we can regret the lack of originality and risk-taking in the game design, the biggest weakness of the title lies in its narrative treatment. Unfortunately, the game doesn't make enough use of its visual environment to tell us its story. On the contrary, the essence of the narration passes through the text, to the detriment of the immersion. Even if it does not reach the narrative genius and the game design of the cult games from which it is inspired (Limbo and Inside), Monobot is a pleasant video game experience, which is worth taking an interest in.
