It's okay. The aesthetic works for the most part, the music does its job, and the puzzles vary from slightly below to slightly above average. The problem is that the game is over in 2-3 hours, half of that time is spent just trying to figure out where to go next, and the whole "60 seconds" mechanic is never put to particularly inspirational use. Minit has an interesting concept and I think it accomplishes that goal satisfactorily however I feel like the concept, for me, has a low ceiling. This is an adventure game about discovery with very little action until the very end. You discover items that you use to accomplish your goals and discover more. I think it took me an hour(ish) to beat. Its alright.

Minit is a fun experience. It tries to emulate that classic PC games vibe, at the same time it tries to be a competent dungeon crawler. It succeeds in both, but at the same time the game is too short. You inevitable want more, but i didn´t find much of replay value.
    Anyways, its a great game!

The ideas are there, but it made me appreciate the polish in the little details in the top-down Zeldas so much more. Since it's short I do recommend it for fans of the 2d Zeldas

A simple top-down 2D adventure game with the core mechanic that you get teleported back to the starting point even 60 seconds.

Good: - the idea of getting teleported back to your "home" location ("dying") every 60 seconds is novel So-so: - 2-color pixelated graphics (just pure white and pure black pixels), with DOS fonts gives it a distinctive look. It's ok for an indie game I

    So-so:
    - 2-color pixelated graphics (just pure white and pure black pixels), with DOS fonts gives it a distinctive look. It's ok for an indie game I guess. Much like e.g. for ADOM it was ok to have ASCII "graphics". Though of course it would be a better game with some proper 2D gfx
    - the fact that you get teleported back to home location every 60 seconds doesn't really change the gameplay much. It basically plays like a normal adventure game. Further in the story, your home location gets moved forward so that you could progress.

    Bad:
    - I really didn't like that there is no use of mouse, even in menus. Most likely, this game was done for consoles? I guess it was, cuz the arrow-key movement is for for consoles, and for PC it would be better to some something Diablo-like, with clicks to move

This "time loop" game looks interesting at first but its appeal wears off to a large extent after about 15 minutes of play, when you understand that it's basically an adventure game with a minor inconvenience of regular teleports to the starting point (which also replaces reloads).

Minit is a nice game with a simple story. You need to break a curse, which loops your life at each 60 seconds.

The idea is simple and the "60 second" concept is very interesting for an exploration driven game. But in the end, the most important thing, is that the concept results in a fun game experience. I highlight the pixel art style, that I liked a lot and the awesome soundtrack.

Fun and original game.
It has a black and white pixelated graphics. But graphics is not the important thing in the game but the time mechanics.
It's really fun the way you're unlocking new stuff and parts of the map with only 60 sec runs. the point is that in every run you know a little bit more of the game world, unlock new areas, objects and mechanics. So there's a constant progress

Drawbacks maybe that mid-end game the puzzles to solve are less intuitive and you need many 60 secs attempts to realize what you need to do. That can be a little bit frustrating.
Also the game is too short and should have more content

This is a really short game but its also a lot of fun. Its a little too expensive though given how short it is.

To die every 60 seconds could quickly get old, but Minit is smart enough to avoid any kind of frustration during the adventure. Purposely minimalistic, the pixelated art direction shines with personality.

A simple idea that wastes no time. Clever, imaginative and full of personality. A mini-masterpiece. [June 2018, p.76]

A game of canny, and often quite annoying, design. [June 2018, p.120]
