    This is my favourite game of all time. The open-world means that you can do whatever you want, you can find Diamonds in survival, or build a castle in creative, or play hunger games on multiplayer. The graphics look good, and there is always something new to discover.

    I think this game is great but very overrated. I thought the concept that you can build anything you like is superb and very original, and applaud Notch for that. But there are a few problems I have to point out. The Graphics are appalling for our day and age, The gameplay feels a bit cheap especially the combat. The soundtrack is OK but repetitive. And there isn't a whole bunch of thingsI think this game is great but very overrated. I really love Minecraft, and think it's really cool the way servers and mods are all fan- made, so you could have a parody of any other game in a server or an endless open world because of the world generating feature, but there's one problem: very often when I try to join a server, the game freezes and goes "Not Responding."     The core of Minecraft is not my cop of tea, but all of the different mods you can get, makes this game amazing in so many way. I just love the fact, that it's a pixel game. I've played Minecraft for about 4 years now and for 20$, I've gotten one hell of a deal.

    If I should base the rating on the core game (without mods) it would be 6/10 but with mods: 9/10

Personally ive never found something completely wrong with the game, but it seems that many encounter hackers and trolls who just ruin the fun for everyone. Honestly the game is good, but the community is starting to get filled with a lot of younger players.     Minecraft is one of the most innovative games on PC, and almost everything it does it does right. The single-player survival is well designed, and has a lot of depth to it that may not be obvious when you first start the game. However, once you defeat the Ender Dragon the game becomes something that only exists for bragging rights. This is the ultimate challenge, and gives the game more length once beating the main survival.

    Then there's creative, which gives you no limits on what you can create. This is by far the best single player option, as someone who bought the game to build, not to destroy. Building 8-bit representations of my favorite game characters has given me a reason to build on, along with the easy to use controls and menu setup.

    Lastly, there's multiplayer (or, "servers"). This is why I keep coming back to Minecraft. The sheer amount of servers is staggering, and seeing the amount of dedication the community has put into this game is amazing. From Grand Theft Auto to Titanfall to even Hide-and-Seek, there is a server for almost any game you would want to play. This is the reason you should buy Minecraft; the single-player is well designed, if not a little repetitive, but the multiplayer is so good and the community so dedicated that this game will suck up your life even more so than something like World of Warcraft. The game is also fairly cheap, so it won't dig a hole in your pocket.    … Expand

    For the price this game is awesome and I like that they update the game rather than give you pointless DLC to get all the new stuff and the skins are free (unlike playstation and Xbox)....     Ah Minecraft. I loved this game early on for its capabilities for active multiplayer and the number of active servers that were available, engaging in many adventures with my friends. Now however, I don't even have the game downloaded due to the sheer lack of new stuff to do. Sure, mods solve this, but I really don't want to risk my computer's security to download stuff that would take theAh Minecraft.     Secondly, this game also got boring, as the Single Player survival was extremely tedious after a while, the only fun coming in playing with TNT and Redstone. Also may I mention that this game is $27? You could almost get a used XBOX 360 with this money, but instead I spent my $27 dollars on a game I would end up deleting. This game held a lot of sentimental value to me, so I have very mixed feelings about it.    … Expand

    I started playing Minecraft in 2009, while it was on Beta 1.8 state (I think so), the game was so fun to play with friends and blah blah blah, fun at all.
    The Final Version was a blast, bug-fixes, graphical updates, new items, and yeah.
    Then, the 1.4 version really screwed up the game, they tried to make Minecraft an RPG, then 1.6 with horses and yes...

    From 10 to 7, nice job, Mojang.

    Back in the day i used to enjoy the game since 1.8 beta came out i stopped playing due game becoming not typical build/cooperating game now its all about hunger games and other things that makes the game very unsatisfying

    I really like Minecraft. Even if you get bored playing the regular version, which is difficult to do, you can download thousands of mods to enhance the game and just make it magical. I really don't see how people can't like this game.

    Great game. The possibilities are endless. It is very simple and easy to learn how to build things, and the amount of things you can build is incredible. I also think that the creepers and zombies are good entertainment to kill in survival.

    I hate how trolls on Youtube and saying how much this game sucks like Da bezd chanl. I feel that this game overall is entertaining. The gameplay is fun, the most fun you get out of it is playing on servers and building awesome structures. I've been playing this game for 4 years and it's still fun.

    Minecraft starts out really fun. You must build, survive and fight. However, after a while, Creative Mode (where you are immortal and build anything, with immediate access to all the materials) can get boring, Survival Mode can become sort of repetitive, and before you know it your closing your computer after an hour or less.

Two aspects of single player that make it so good are the creative and survival mode, and I will go into full detail on each one why because that is the only way to review this game.

    Survival mode, admittedly, is grindy; however, I think that the survival mode being grindy is a positive thing, as this allows you to create a relationship with you as your character in your survival situations. I believe Minecraft in survival mode, when played in a true gamer's aspect, is what the player would do in real life if forced to live in those conditions. THAT IS WHAT A SURVIVAL GAME IS MEANT TO DO. Not to mention that it's fun, addictive, easy to learn, good controls, and you will get many hours of gameplay. The infinite seed and terrain coding is a HUGE part of what makes survival mode so interesting. The difficulty range is well done and polished. The timing in day and night is well done. The survival mode patches come out with new, interesting, and innovative content that is just free-to-download with no micro-transactions bull crap. The map system isn't the best, but is a tiny nitpick in a huge world of free-roam terrain. The only glaring problem with survival mode is the viability of gold, which equals zero, despite its rarity. By the way, for those complaining about there being no real story, it's a sandbox, get over it. Survival mode: 10/10

    You thought I praised the survival mode too much? Creative mode is just as good! Whether you want a real world with survival aspects, or just flat ground for building, creative mode has no limits. Your imagination is the only limit, as many things were already built within the last 6 years of existence. The designs hardcore players make, and there's a lot of them, are extremely detailed and really cool since you can explore those worlds with little rules. As far as the usable items, all it is is what exists in the game. Creative Mode: 10/10

    Multiplayer is probably the most fun part about Minecraft, and the most problematic. Multiplayer opens up so many opportunities for game-defining minigames, which are suprisingly doable on the servers people create! I have made a couple of friends on Minecraft back whenever I played it way too much, and that's where you run into problems. 65% percent of the fanbase make multiplayer not fun and are sailor-speaking 10 year olds with no common sense or wannabe trolls that just make the game worse. Mojang couldn't at least put a censorship program for comments? The worst problem however, is the lag on most popular servers, as Mojang couldn't get the game to handle the online servers very well for a long time.

    Easily the worst problem with the game is those STUPID EXTERNAL SOURCES, ESPECIALLY MODS!
    Mods are so hard to download, you have to change the network and LAN party settings to get them to run.
    What the hell?

    Despite those difficulties however, Minecraft is an innovative and mind-blowingly brilliant game. The single player allows you to connect with yourself in immersing fashion, and the multiplayer is one of the most fun and addicting multiplayers of all time.

    All for the price tag of.......... $27.

    $27!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How is Mojang even gratifying themselves with this? This has to be one of the best values for a PC game of all time. This price is cheaper than Ride to Hell: Retribution!

    I thought about giving this a 10/10 for its sheer greatness, but with the numerous problems I ran into while on multiplayer or with mods, not to mention the reputation this game eventually got, I just couldn't. So I create worlds and then once like 5 to 10 days later one of the worlds wasn't even named anymore. the name just disappeared and it showed like the last time I was in that world, that's it. Another, So I have this really nice amusement park world and today the thing with a no name was there AND its a flat land world and there was this terrain, this different terrain that happened to surround it and I am just so confused and annoyed. It's horrible! I worked so hard on that world and this is what I get? This tall land that is not supposed to be in a FLAT land world in minecraft? WOW! There are other problems too but... a lot. So thanks everyone! Other than that, minecraft is a great game, it's wonderful and creative, you get to make things, build things, do whatever you want, and everything! I recommend it to someone who is creative and like building.… Expand

    Fully immersive sandbox game! Its simplicity and lack of story may not please everyone, but is what makes Minecraft ultimately so compelling and entertaining play after play.

I'm not going to judge the game by it's fandom, but rather on my own experiences with the game. When I first played this game (summer of 2010), I had little to no experience, but that didn't stop me to enjoy the game. Back then until 2013, the game had a score of 8+ forLet's face it, Minecraft had a lot of potential to be a GREAT game, but unfortunately the fandom ruined it completely. I'm not going to judge the game by it's fandom, but rather on my own experiences with the game.     The negative reviews are from 2-4 years ago and so they're pretty much outdated since the game has really evolved.

Итог: Майнкрафт это отличная песочница, многие ругают её за пиксельную графику, но помоему это наоборот круто! Это пожалуй единственое что отличает её от других surviaval - игр.     It doesn't feel finished, nor polished. Not even after years. There's hardly any conveyance for the player to have a sense of progression and it takes less than 2 hours to achieve most relevant things in the game.     Its hard to put my finger on what makes Minecraft special. It was certainly the beginning of an era, and remains one of my favorite games of all time, though I rarely play it anymore. It's singeplayer survival mode is exciting, bold, and adventuresome, but quickly gets tiring and isn't something I would play game after game. For a survival game, Minecraft relies heavily on all features BUTIts hard to put my finger on what makes Minecraft special. For a survival game, Minecraft relies heavily on all features BUT survival. Its graphics really aren't anywhere near as bad as people make them out, and since now you can change the way everything looks and clean up the environment with resource packs, dissing it for its pixelated graphics is ridiculous. The music is gorgeous, Daniel Rosenfeld is a complete genius, and I often listen to Minecraft's music outside of the game. Its one of my favorite soundtracks of all time. The multiplayer is dashingly fun, but while enhancing it, suffers from the same as the normal survival. Creative is of course a main feature, as building is in the name of the game here. And a great building system it is, as you can create some truly astonishing architecture, and take it a step further to design almost anything in creation, and then some, with command blocks. Custom maps go a step further and add the ability to share community created "levels", from parkour platformers to puzzle chambers to horror maps (and there are some VERY scary ones) to back-to-basics with a twist survival maps. Mods are probably more diverse for Minecraft than any other game, enhancing the experience a million times over and creating a never ending game. But the biggest shine for Minecraft, for me, is the dedicated servers. ANY sort of game, through plugins, right at the fingertips. The pure social interactivity makes the experience 3x longer. It has to be said though, the quality of the community has dropped dramatically in the last few years, with invasions of immature children being brought in by certain kid-based youtubers. However, there are plenty of wonderful people and youtubers alike out there to counter them. Overall, Minecraft kept me occupied for 3 years straight, and I still boot it up every once and again. For the price you pay for unlimited fun, its the most worthwhile $35 you'll ever spend.… Expand

    I think this game is full of creativity with nice open worlds that you could explore in creative mode you could choose to make your own house, buildings halls, maze, train station and caves. In survival mode you have to get your own materials, minerals, and ores. also depending on which mode you choose easy medium or hard.

Some mechanics aren't thought out very well or are just unfinished. An example is potion brewing- it's pretty hard to access and the effects themselves are hard to craft, and are not TOO helpful. The game itself just seems dense from the surface, but once you dig in there actually isn't very much to see. Still, you can have some fun playing around making single player bases if that is what you really desire. The graphics and aesthetics are great which can be modified around, and the different biomes are empty inside but still pretty in their own way.

    I could've easily given this game a 5 or even a 4, but since I rate games purely out of my enjoyment, I gave it an extra point. It's a decent game but I had some fun using redstone, playing with friends and joining online servers to PvP. It's still not a very fun game compared to its competitors.     Minecraft is a game of pluses and minuses. Every time something good or special shows itself, something, usually from the fan base, pops up and ruins everything.

    Minecraft, i find, is most fun with some friends in survival or creating something in creative. Single player survival can be boring after a bit. after issue is the online player base should you not have any online friends, as it's mostly 12 year old scum, 6 year old try hards, and 30 something people riding that youtube money train. Many of the mini game modes on it are empty on american servers, as survival games (think hunger games but worse) and factions (think some mmo with clans but worse) are the popular ones as of late. Voice chat would be nice, as way too many times have i and others been killed before we could speak.

    Another thing is the nature of the game, as it runs off java, which for those 12 and under, was a basic programming code and a old 3d web browser game thing like flash was for 2d stuff. Java by this point has gone senile, a glitch randomly occurring which basically bricks your game, preventing little timmy from smashing his mother's acer facebook machine like a very colorful pinata... oh hell, that would still happen.

    Honestly, if you have some friends and wait a bit for 1.10's java issues, minecraft would be a blast, but if you're looking for a fun single player or online with randos experience, looking elsewhere would be advised.

The last boss was very well thought, definitively not hard, but having not to look to any endermen brings an almost mystic experience to this battle.     I'm finally done with Minecraft, it isn't fun for me. I find that the freedom that Minecraft gives me makes it really hard for me to make decisions of what I want to do, because if you give me so much potential, I just don't know where to go, my head spins. And sure, Minecraft is culturally significant, and I played it at a young age, but it just doesn't hold up as much as Team Fortress 2 has.

    This game is absolutely incredible! Build a skyscraper, build a Redstone contraption, survive the incredible adventure that is survival mode, play on servers and meet new people, and a lot of other things. EPIC

The updates never feel substantial enough. Even though this game has been "full release" for over eleven years at this point, it still feels like a beta of what could come. Mojang's own refusal to add content from the likes of Minecraft Dungeons or at least some new bosses to fill in the gaps in progress has been holding Minecraft back for a really long time. I get it, Minecraft is also a creative tool but Survival mode makes gathering the materials for a cool build much more so a slog, and Creative mode takes out the reward for making a cool build (besides making cool block art/architecture.) Sadly. this game blows. Boring 4/10
    Aesthetic- I've never been an oldhead who was confused by Minecraft's art style and over the years, the blocks only look better and better with every update, yes, even after the texture overhaul of 1.16. I honestly have nothing to complain about here besides adding fireflies you lousy devs. Pretty, 9/10
    Sound- C418's soundtrack has an amazing melancholy feeling that makes you want to give this game a 10/10 for "muh nostalgia," their tracks are completely brilliant and if I listen to just the right cover, I might shed a tear. Lena Raine has made objective bangers in place of C418 as well. My favorite track from Minecraft personally is Pigstep. Music bops, 10/10

    This game is possibly one of the best sandbox games out there. The creative aspect of it is amazing - with some imagination and work you can do almost anything regarding builds and even machinery using redstone. The survival and RPG-like aspect of the game is more like 'meh' but I can still get enjoyment out of it, especially when playing with friends.     The item or block features are pretty simple,but they do have their own law to make this block world vivid.this is the most charming things for me.It has duplicated another world which has no stress no sorrow and always made me grin.
    Let's talk about the music by C418.The music doing a great job to reflect the loneliness and silent which are stick to the gameplay.they have become my favorite music right now and I cant fall asleep without listening the album XD.
    Yet this game is adding more and more new features.With those update,the fun is continued.Excellent job Mojang!

    I bought Minecraft in 2013. I just stopped playing it this year, in 2018. 5 YEARS. That is how long I spent on this game. And the only mods I have ever used are Optifine and the Epicarno Mod. It says a lot about how much this game can offer. Now for my review of everything in the game.

    The Story:
    Non-existent in a good way. Next!

    The Combat:
    The basic combat is pretty complex stuff, as you can tailor your playstyle around a variety of weapons. There are swords (basic, everyday weapons), axes (high damage, slow speed), pickaxes (breaks armour faster), bows (ranged alternative), and most recently, tridents (throwing weapons).

    The Building:
    The best gameplay aspect. Tons of blocks, infinite possibilities. I don’t see why people would hate on Minecraft other than to make themselves look cool. (I know, the community sucks. But that isn’t the game itself, that is the people playing it. Jeez.) Plus, the holy grail of all blocks, the Command Block, is in the game. You can essentially use Minecraft code in order to summon monsters, give yourself items, and even change how the game plays. The imagination really is your only limit.

    The Multiplayer:
    Mojang (and Microsoft), have pretty bad server connection. It can take ages to log onto servers for some people. I never really ran into this though, and my internet isn’t the stuff of your wildest dreams. The servers are amazing in this game, and I have made many friends by playing on servers such as Hypixel and Cubecraft.

    Basically, this game has actually changed my life and changed the way I think. This masterpiece deserves the 10/10. My only complaint is that Microsoft seems to add trivial features all of the time.    … Expand

    Everything is amazing. The number of things to find, craft, explore, and do is overwhelming at times, and the possibilities are near endless. A unique style and amazing music only improve the experience as a whole.

    I don't think the lack of a story is anything bad as the game isn't one that should have a story. It's more so about the player's decision to do whatever they want. Because of this, there is also near endless replayability due to how many different things the player may decide to do in the game.

    Then we have the multiplayer. The servers are a great addition to a great single-player game, and grants even more fun to be had, especially with friends. With LAN, you can also play with your friends on your single-player saves, which makes the game much more fun to play.

    The game is truly a masterpiece, and I recommend it for anyone. It is definitely a must-play for everyone.    … Expand

    Minecraft ist kinda old by now and has very verd hardcore bad graphics and still is not rlly mod friendly as I would like it to have. You have manually download new updated mods all the time. Wish this would go by itself. Just start the game, it scans for updates and downloads them + reinstalls them by itself. Guess this will never happen so yeah.     True sandbox, you can spend days building amazing structures, mess around with redstone etc. You make your own world. Just look at etho's world, that's just insane.

    Minecraft used to be a perfect game, a 10/10 for me. This was before Microsoft stepped in and completely f****d everything up. Instead of the updates adding necessary features to the game, now, they feel completely unnecessary. The prime example for this would be the unnecessary texture changes that for a huge majority, look worse than the original textures. Also, the community is one of the worst game communities of all time. However, if you look at Minecraft as a whole, it is still a damn good game. There are few games that really make you feel like the world is really yours like Minecraft does. And, despite having simplistic graphics, the game is incredibly immersive and has a very believable world even with the gravity defying physics and the fact that you can build a portal to "Hell." Minecraft is one of the first PC games I ever played and still remains as my favorite open world survival game, it's just the recent changes and the community that bogs it down from being 10/10 for me.… Expand

    The 1.0 version of the indie phenomena is still obviously unfinished and flawed in many ways, but it's so easy to forget that when you're building your dream castle, exploring scary caves and vast mountain ranges and having a great time in its blocky world.
