    Now, the hacks at Microsoft bought Minecraft, and took away the games from people who had only Mojang accounts! Fortunately i bought mine through Microsoft, but if i had bought this game and then Microsoft stole it and said i needed to buy it again, i would be pissed.

    At least the talentless company Mojang is gone. If i developed for Mojang and left, i would hide it on my resume. I would be too embarressed to let anyone know that i was such a bad developer that i couldnt make a game made for low-end pcs in 2011 run stable on a 2023 power-house gaming rig.

    And don't even get me started on the Switch port, which somehow manages to be worse than this.    … Expand

    Minecraft is a game about literal blocks. At its most basic, it's digital legos and a copy of Roblox. After these newer updates, Minecraft has become just random garbage. The coding is GARBAGE and the game can crash just by a skin that has 3 pixels more than the limit. I'll give this a 4, just beacuse it has somewhat of a good story line.

    I hate this game, for one reason. This game is so popular that children don't play any other games. There are so many good games for their age, with much more quality, and children keep playing this. I think children are dumb today because of this game and they don't discover other games to play. This game is a reflex of our society.

    A lot of people are going to hate me for this but this game is way overrated. First of all after you've played it once you've seen it all, there is really not that much to do (even in multiplayer). Secondly the combat is unsatisfactory at best. It's just a meh experience overall. I can already feel people saying " oH but WhAt aBoUt ThE mOdS". To you kind people firstly mods should never beA lot of people are going to hate me for this but this game is way overrated.     I have over 10.000 hours in this game since alpha, but since the new 1.19.1 release i can no longer make myself play it, the ridiculous new report system is broken, unnecessary, a disgrace and a disappointment, they have completely failed their community and i can no longer support it both in fear of doing something that could get my account banned.

    A great game to play with friends and other people from all around the world. I myself love the game and have over 1500 hours in it. It is simple, it is fun, it is the perfect sandbox game I love to play and loved to play through the last 5 or so years.

    But it gets only 2/10 because of how ungrateful Microsoft is and for the new 1.19 "report" button, which is the worst feature ever    A great game to play with friends and other people from all around the world. I myself love the game and have over 1500 hours in it. It is simple, it is fun, it is the perfect sandbox game I love to play and loved to play through the last 5 or so years.

    But it gets only 2/10 because of how ungrateful Microsoft is and for the new 1.19 "report" button, which is the worst feature ever added and Microsoft refused to remove it. Now you may be thinking: ,,well, Silverfish zero zero three, you suck, second thing, it is to prevent online predators and bad people from reaching to small children". To that I will say good point, but not really the greatest. Back in 1.15 or so, trying to access multiplayer menu would show a screen, directly warning the players of content unsupervised by Mojang or Microsoft. When the player clicked on continue, they were aware of the risks (and parents were as well as kids). And now they care if their tiny Steve is playing on a server that he joined completely by accident, and it happens to be a server where everyone speaks freely and uses some... let's just say... "extreme" words. So Steve, scared of what they see, is going to press the panic report button, ultimately ending the fun for all players, just because of one kid joining by accident, into a community they did not belong to at all. This feature is extremely bad for servers without any behavior regulations such as 2b2t. If I wanted to play on a server where everyone speaks 18+ stuff, I should have the right to do so and not being spied on by Microsoft. This feature can also be used to ban people you don't like, so report bombing is going to be a thing such as OptiFine cape bombing used to be back in the day. Plus servers now cannot make their own rules, because Microsoft now stated shared rules across all servers this very hideous way, pointing a huge middle finger at all players. Server owners and administrators were always moderating their servers by themselves, and it HAS to be like that, because moderating a server is fun (I was a helper on one server before and I enjoyed it)! Oh wait no, no you did not listen to the community, you ignored us. This game used to be great, now Mojang has committed themselves to ignoring their fans, DO NOT BUY. Stay away from this game, that is all.

    If u do some changes dont ruin it like Nokia and dont force to use like IE or Edge. Google is usually better because simple the best in one thing do the same with Minecraft. I dont see any benefit from migration for players. Safety is no reason, maybe even opposite. U maybe just want to migrate it to MS Store. Firstly fix and rebuild MS/Xbox store its very bad. Only maybe Origin is worse but with new storage/secret system u are.

    Java edition: not perfect but 10/10 for hundred of chillout hours. Without mods game is too poor.
    Few mods :
    a) graphic mods - i cant find better looking game with voxel open world with them (today my favourite are ZalyWarm and SeusRenewed) and textures packs (favourite Patrix or without parallax conquest reforged)
    b) mods changing rules: Pokecube or Pixelmon - catching pokemons, hack and slash mods, building and managing city, industrial/automation mods, immersive railroad
    c) universal mods like cutting trees with single block, other terrain generators, rope bridges,...

    My suggestions for development (for better chillout):
    0) Some new chillout/survival mode
    a) There could be option/mode when could hire or train some guardians with survival zombie mode. Zombie free zones with some walls, enough soldiers. No zombie just some medival war mode. Improving village security guards could be some reason to play.
    b) villager automated mines even without digging by them. Could hire workers simillar as guards. Villagers usually doesnt do anything (sometimes they farm). There there is no some village center or controls.
    c) option to make weapon/tools unbreakable or some better repair points/villagers/methods some good economy with it.
    d) companions which could be killed (maybe only with some new "chillout survival mode")

    Windows edition: bought only for RTX card. Too much vanilla. RTX could been good but still had many bugs. There is big problem with textures and customizing.
    Worlds to purchase are filled with someones creations but should been blank page option.
    Cannot mix features or its too hard. (Maybe its good for children or less to bugs, but store could get more money for selling features like: train systems, furniture, working with every map and minecraft version.)    … Expand

    i realy enjoy this game and like this. but when microsoft came and **** up the game from head to toe, I couldn't take it anymore. recently I decided to remember the times and play minecraft, but when I went into the launcher, they poked mud in my face and said that you either do 7 circles of hell with linking your mojang account to your microsoft account, or go **** yourself.     I honestly love Minecraft! However a game that does not work gets 0 points in my book. And as sad as it is Minecraft does not work anymore.

    The reason is that they changed the login system from the good old Mojang login to the M$ login. I created a M$ account a few years ago when they offered the free Windows 10 edition. So I tryed to migrate to that one. However I was unabel to login    I honestly love Minecraft! However a game that does not work gets 0 points in my book. And as sad as it is Minecraft does not work anymore.

    The reason is that they changed the login system from the good old Mojang login to the M$ login. I created a M$ account a few years ago when they offered the free Windows 10 edition. So I tryed to migrate to that one. However I was unabel to login to that one. Apearently I was banned for breakung some rules. I never used that account and I was never informed on my mail adress of that ban. And they have not told me the reason. So the first thing is, that they offer to unlock the account if you offer them my sms capebel phone number to send a code to. Tryed that but it does not take my phone numer. Why? No idea. Next try, Microfoft support: Ups that does not work since you need a working Microsoft account. What yours is banned? To bad for you. So I tryed Mojang support. After all its there Product. After they had no support for my native language (german) I ended up with the english support in person of Moxie Delmazzio. She strate up refused to help me and send me back to the Microsoft support website. After that I tryed to get a phone number. after some persistance I found one. However it ended with me getting told (by an automated system) to go back to the support website and request a call back. Guess what you need to request a call back? A working Microsoft account. What was my problem in the first place? A not working microsoft account.

    So in effect I no longer have a working game. And an other big bad Microsoft related expirience on top of those with Games for Windows Live.

    So thanks to Mojang for that totally unneeded and unwanted change, that ruind one of my faforit games for me. That was so unnessesary. And it makes me sad and angry at the same tme.    … Expand

The gameplay is very lackluster and mining with a shovel does not work very well (how do you make a pickacks) Also they havent added macaroni and sheese so i cant relly enjoy it.     El juego a mi parecer esta entre lo peor en el mundo del Gaming (No logro entender como es que esta dentro de los éxitos mundiales).
    Tras las muchas oportunidad que le e dado solo encuentro 1 aspecto positivo y es la libertad de construir como quieras y donde quieras pero fuera de eso gráficamente es horrible, la jugabilidad se siente lenta y aburrida, el mundo se siente muy vacío ya que    El juego a mi parecer esta entre lo peor en el mundo del Gaming (No logro entender como es que esta dentro de los éxitos mundiales).

    Gli ho dato anche troppo, da quando Notch lasciò il suo gioco sta prendendo una brutta piega, i bug sono il gioco stesso ormai, viene aggiornato troppo, e rende le mod e texture pack inutilizzabili ogni volta.

    La Vanilla è molto ripetitiva e dopo un po' diventa noiosa, un aggiornamento all'anno è veramente troppo poco (4).
    Il multiplayer, invece, è una gran figata: moltissime modalità e tanti server ove cercare la propria modalità ideale, ci sono però molti bug e hackers rompi palle (8).
    In generale è un gioco carino che ha bisogno di più aggiornamenti

    The game is a great game to play with friends or solo for customizing the world around you but the fact that when you die to **** like gravel, then the game feels like a kill to win physics engine sandbox. The game had potential yes, but the lag in online and just some mechanics (Gravel and Sand) that make this game a painful yet mediocre experience.

    9 years, 2.5 billion dollars and god knows how many spinoffs later, it feels like the exact same game. Seriously, why are there so little things to do?! You can beat the entire game in like an hour. Surely micorosft has some money leftover so it doesnt take years to add a biome (mountains...) In 2011 this game was groundbreaking, but now... its jsut incredibly boring.

    I started playing this game threw the free browser version where you just had a static pallet and honestly, not much has changed except for a thew shallow/unexplored features.
    The only real value this game has is for modding the hell out of it & playing with friends, and it isn't all that well optimized for it.

    Survival mode : ... there isnt any survival to speak of. Hunger meter in a game where there is no varied food items, but you can cook cow and pig all day long and.. it is too simple.
    Combat: atrocious. Your enemies have infinite ammo and no reason to hunt you. Animals attack suicidally. Skeleton archers pursue you to hell and back because... nothing. Creepers spawn when you sit still and improve your home. Or dig and make a tunnel safe and well lit.
    Believabiliy: None. There is no motif to the enemies. Just a hodgepodge of garbage. Unique biomes are nice, but never expanded upon with unique enemies or unique formations.. You have had YEARS TO ACTUALLY FIND A MOTIF TO BUILD UPON!

    So all in all, Minecraft is a zero. The mod community made the game, not the developers. Mods make a game, and this one is like a cult classic.. the movie sucks but the audience can collectively point fingers at your steaming pile of crap and laugh as a group.. so much like being sent away to an awful place, it isnt the destination but the people you go with that are the 10/10.

    This isn't necessarily a bad game in the sense that I still DO play it today; I just don't often like how it works (and that's mainly why I'm giving it that low a score) - the argument you can build anything you imagine is only half true in this game as for my argument. This only applies to form, never to function, in the most technical sense. For example, you'd be hard-pressed to build a working excavator, at least not a life-like one, in Minecraft - it's impossible due to how the game works! On a less obvious note, a castle wouldn't be of much use, at least not in the traditional sense. This is because there's none of the traditional factors of a castle: people to work in it and protect it, a king to rule it, enemies to attack it, and soldiers to guard it. The lack of dynamics and such in the game's mechanics (including redstone) is arguably the game's weakest point - and definitely my biggest gripe with the game - in a game where you're expected to be able to build anything you can imagine. Some players actually view this as a game, and it falls short on satisfying that sector of gamers.

    The community is also a mess, and that is in fact how I became a negative person at one point. Obviously, I brought this on myself in the end ultimately, but I could still hardly blame myself if I became this way due to the community. It often spoke about doom and gloom, not to mention trolls, and this was especially so in the dark ages of Minecraft, back in 2014 - 2018(?). I shouldn't even have to mention that if you found today's micro-transactions more of genuine scams and less of game features, I would argue that the problem is 10x worse on Minecraft servers - where the rules are often twisted to prevent you from ever standing a chance in minigames, concurring a situation where you have two choices - where you either have to live with it, or pay up, meaning that you often have to pay to even enjoy the minigames, let alone succeed in it.

    Overall, the game had a lot of potential, but I feel was marred by Mojang's haphazard direction on the game itself and the lack of concern for ever providing a solid goal and point in the game, not to mention Minecraft servers that are arguably 10x worse than traditional pay-to-win mobile games, which I bet Mojang never really took into consideration as well. Now, again, this is certainly not to say that I'll won't be playing Minecraft - in fact, I still do enjoy the game to an extent. I just feel like things could've been done a whole lot better for this game, and in a world where we expect the latest and greatest today, we're not seeing any of that advancement with Minecraft, really. If you're wondering why you get bored of worlds in Minecraft and start new ones instead of spending months much less years on worlds, this should be enough information for you. Pret-ty disappointing, if you ask me. If only Mojang were "Craft-y" to begin with.

    In fact, this game and its flaws and current flaws especially, are the impetus for a MC mod I've been working on that plans to not only bring dynamics to this game, but provide a meaningful point and viewpoint to this game, among other things that should make Minecraft tick all the boxes it needs to. I'm putting all my hope into the success of this mod, and hopefully it will provide y'all all the stuff y'all ever wanted and needed in this game. Cheers.    … Expand

    I made an entire meta critic account just to say I cannot **** believe the gall of the developers in this game that they let their consumers tame and take care of pets just to let them die with no way of resurrecting them. I had tamed an ocelot and named it greggeth, and he was my pride and joy. Me and greggeth would go mining together and fish down by the creeks.     1. The devellopers are too stupid to programm a game correctly :
    There's no denying it, the way that this game has been coded is very amateurish, the fact that it runs on java is a dead giveaway. The game is very poorly optimized
    and for its poor graphics, uses a lot of superfluous resources from your computer, if you want to play it in a way that gives you an acceptable viewing range or relatively pretty graphics to admire your creations , be prepared to use a very beefy computer and forget about playing it that way on the go.

    2. The devellopers are too stupid and morally corrupt to fix a BUG :
    If you want to make a functioning, complex piston machine there's one thing that will f*ck you over : the "quasi-connectivity" BUG, a BUG wich defies logic (because it's a BUG, duh), in the way that it creates unpredictable leaps of activation by redstone, in short, it goes against the principle of this game wich is "block by block" (not my words indeed, as the the official name of a Minecr*ft charity project is "block by block initiative"), and instead adds a whole bunch of nonsensical "rules" wich kill a lot of possibilities.
    Now, you surely want to ask, why do I stress the word "BUG" like a r*tard ? Well, it's simple, after this BUG was discovered, like with any BUGS, people started to exploit it to create new possibilities, and that is normal, however the ret*rded devellopers decided not to fix the bug and insted "make" it (make as in makebelieve) a "feature" (no, I'm not kidding you https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-14664). I consider this to be the proof of two things : a huge part of the minecraft community (best exemplified by this person https://youtu.be/aRdcptG365I?t=105), as well as the dev team are completely ret*rded and morally corrupt. You have to be either one of these things at an extreme or both if you think that a BUG wich breaks the game, could not a) be replaced by an actual separate FEATURE of the game b) not be given priority in every version of Minecr*ft, and instead be kept for those who absolutely need it in older versions, or even, god forbid, become optional (yes, yes, 10 years olds, its mind-blowing)

    3. The devellopers need an eternity to create simple updates
    Updates for this game take several months to be realeased. That would be nothing unusual if the updates wouldn't consist of pretty much nothing. for example between november 2016 and June 2017 (1.11 and 1.12), the only major changes were better coloration and a turorial.
    If you want more evidence that the devellopers are lazy, look no further than the big layers of fat wich envellop Markus Persson's body, who, if you didn't already know, is the founder of Minecraft and has stopped working on it a while ago to sell it for 2.5 billions $ to Micro$oft and, thus proceeded to do, and still does, nothing all day.

    Considering this, you might agree that it would be amoral to buy this game, because I don't think it is really necessary for some incompetent nobodies to cash in on an idea that was made 10 years ago while seldom producing anything of worth.

    It is very glitchy sometimes. It is boring. It just the same thing each time. Mine, kill animals, make food, kill monsters, sleep. It is boring and theres no real purpose to the game. Like theres no objective. Killing the ender dragon maybe? Play if you want to. Also the monsters are quite scary/violent. They hurt you. I wouldn't recommend the game.

First, the multi player is just really bad and laggy, I couldn't even play it without my game freezing or bugging all the time. Now, the single player is literarily the only enjoyable about the game, and survival is the only mode that is also fun, and if you play on creative, you're being judged.     Não sei como um lixo desses faz sucesso, o jogo é horrível, o pior que eu já joguei sem dúvida alguma. Gráficos lamentáveis, gameplay travado e limtado, trilha sonora ruim demais, sem objetividade e a repetitividade dele chega a um nível absurdo. Não comprem nem joguem esse lixo, tem jogos muito melhores pra jogar, não gastem seu tempo e dinheiro nisso.

Despite that, it's a game that get's old too quickly, it has no objectives, no story and a poor gameplay. It's just a sandbox game for littly kids to play building with blocks that it's taken too seriously by the gamer comunity. Dear lord, this update basically ruined the combat part of    I used to absolutely love this game, it had a simple concept, simple graphics, and the ability to do anything. But looking back, this game has gone down a crappy road thanks to Microsoft/Mojang and the Minecraft community itself.

    Let's start with what Microsoft did wrong after buying it from Markus Pearson: The 1.9 and update. Dear lord, this update basically ruined the combat part of the game. For starters the removed the ability to craft god apples, which although is little disappointing, but I can live without it. Also, they made it so you can't spam the left click button when in combat anymore, which may take some time getting used to, but it would probably be good to balance the combat. So why did I just mention these 2 things if they don't actually bother me? Well... I'm not sure. BUT, the thing that does bother me is that the axes are now more powerful than all of the swords. Even a axe made of wood has equivalent power of a sword made of diamonds. Because of this tweak, the swords are completely pointless in crafting/using! Also, Microsoft/Mojang didn't actually add any new weapons to a update called:
    "The Combat Update". Which means to this day, Minecraft still only has 11 weapons... 10 of which are melee weapons.

    Now, let's see what the community did wrong: #1: The multiplayer severs, If you go on the internet to look for 100% vanilla Minecraft servers with no plugins/mods whats so ever, you'll relise there's no such thing anymore. All you'll ever see now is stupid minigames and "factions severs". Which although may seem fun at first, it eventually gets boring as hell.
    #2: The god awful and super annoying fanbase, where do I begin? The Youtube videos, the music parody's, videos of 6 year-olds, the Minecon convention (yes, they made a yearly convention just for 1 stupid video game), and many more. So cancerous, so stupid, so many "please make it stop" feelings.

    At the end of all of it, there are some good parts of the game, such as the singeplayer experience and... well, that's about it. Thank you for reading my review.    … Expand

    This game is so poorly made, and somehow addicting at the same time, its had an actual negative impact on my life. Seriously. Minecraft is the only game that has made me legitimately angry with how bad it is. It has so much potential, but the developers have zero idea what to do with it.

There's hardly any conveyance for the player to have a sense of progression and it takes less than 2 hours to achieve most relevant things in the game. The rest of it is so niche that almost nobody will do it. Yes, building is fun, but the game doesn't test the worth of your building skills whatsoever. For example I met one guy in his late twenties and all he did was build box houses.

    Which leads me to my main quarrel with the community; nobody actually builds things anymore. It is a shame that the ultimate sandbox has been turned into a cheap survival/PVP game by stupid brats. Most servers are p2w now, the last one I played on gave full protection 4 armor to players who "donated." I consider myself a builder, I made really nice things in this game, and was made staff on a few servers because my builds were so high quality. It was immensely frustrating to me because no one else seemed to even try and servers ended up full of ugly box houses no matter how much the server's staff stressed the importance of good building.

    Mojang is not enforcing their EULA and taking down servers that violate it by selling overpowered items. They will not even take the time to reply to your report apparently. What really grinds my gears though is they've put the last year of development into making a "PVP update" that basically caters to the same PVP crowd that has turned Minecraft multiplayer into a p2w PVP fest. Mojang could easily go after the few websites that allow players to set up these "donation" shops but I suspect those websites have bribed them into looking the other way by giving them a portion of the profits.    … Expand

    This game was good before 1.8 beta, with people making amazing pixel art and there were amazing vanilla servers.
    Now it's just a couple of 12 year old kids trying to be funny on the internet by playing on extremely modded servers that make completely no sense, griefing and hacking.
    If you dislike this review than you're a 12 year old kid yourself.

    The 1.0 version of the indie phenomena is still obviously unfinished and flawed in many ways, but it's so easy to forget that when you're building your dream castle, exploring scary caves and vast mountain ranges and having a great time in its blocky world.
