    As a "Single player" games lover this is a Masterpiece. No words to describe this gorgeous game. Play it slow. Take your time. Try to read all Notes you will find in the game. Dont get confuse with what you believe you see. Enjoy this game. Dont give up if you get stuck. The story worths it

    We were charmed by the atmosphere,dark and gritty, miserable-feeling people everywhere, despair all over,by the amazing immerson that truly made me forget i was behind a keyboard and,most importantly, it s story and characters that might not seem special,but i got attached to everyone that i crossed paths with (Khan, Bourbon,etc.).
    The gameplay,is not perfect,but realyyyyyyy good: trying to scavenge as much ammo as you can,trade high-grade bullets for other thing you might need,wandering in the dark hearing noises,not knowing when you ll get ambushed.
    I keep hearing about all these tehnical issues and bugs that this game suffers from,but,get this,in my WHOOOOOLE JOURNEY, i only encountered a small AI error from a mutant (can t remember its name) and that also IMMEDIATELY solved by itself.
    Also,one big part of Metro 2033 is its paranormal events.This game really likes to play with your mind because of all the flashback sequences and constant feeling of dread.
    What i hate the most about this game...is not the game, but instead the big companies that can t see how this game truly shines, scoring for them at a maximum of 8.5,which is truly dissapointing.
    I m not any expert of sorts but this game alone,with all it s characteristics i just described above,made me pick for a project to read the original novel by Dmitry Gluhovsky,and i absolutely love that too.
    Metro 2033 is an absolute MASTERPIECE in my opinion,deserving more attenrion and love because everything it has to offer.    … Expand

    Как бы я не любил атмосферу метро, весь этот антураж постапокалипсиса с русским колоритом, игра имеет две значительные технические проблемы: максимально тупой ии, есть такая вещь, что когда ты прослушаиваешь диалог двух нпс, они даже после завершения диалога продолжают бурно жестикулировать, словно они до сих пор разговаривают, для кого-то мелочь, но мне погружение ломает.     This game was very eye catching and fun in the beginning but once you start getting to the darker levels it becomes a clusterFück.
    Don’t buy it on epic or play it on GeForce now as you can’t adjust gamma so the game is stuck at a dark brightness setting for the whole game(still no way to fix it).
    I have to admit that the Controls were intriguing and honestly a amazing system all around.    This game was very eye catching and fun in the beginning but once you start getting to the darker levels it becomes a clusterFück.

    but once you start running out of filters mid fight it starts to get aggravating, I’ll look past the running out of ammo a lot because that’s normal and can be fixed quickly by finding a dead body but the game becomes repetitive having to always be searching lockers and body’s just to find Some spare bullets to waste firing at groups of enemies.    … Expand

    Not the best first person shooter, horror or story driven game you will ever play but it is a very good first person shooter, horror and story driven game that will keep you engrossed and on the edge of your seat throughout apart from when it has you jumping out of it. Every moment in the metro feels like a genuine fight for survival. Its a game that is well worth your time.

    Story of the game is great, however there is no tutorial and I had troubles with things like charging flashlight, night vision or even burning web. In one point I actually thought that my game broke, while in fact I had to burn web to keep going (At that point I didn't even know that I have a lighter).     Really nice ambient and story with greath graphics, although at some points of the story the gameplay is a little tedious, some mechanics could have been polished a bit more.

    Very easy going, super immersive, fun first person shooter. The game holds your hand, but there is still a lot of stuff you can miss, including an alternate ending!

    The world and the story pull you in harder than almost any other game, meanwhile the gameplay and content makes sure you enjoy the experience and feel in tune with the plot. A true must-play.

    The first game of the metro series is a great remastered that definitely deserves the money I gave the game its atmosphere strengthened thanks to its revamped graphics good combat mechanics and a very good story adapted from the book.i want 4.game.

    Very good shooter with satisfing guns and nasty enemies. Really solid campaign with exciting moments. Unusual atmosphere, unseen in other FPS games. Created world is terrifing and remarkable. Story is great. Graphics is more than nice (in opposition to the optimalization), but music... Generally audio is very good (despite protagonist in english version - the one reading during loadings),Very good shooter with satisfing guns and nasty enemies.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Having just beaten the game my feelings on it are still somewhat mixed. I did enjoy my time battling through the metro and finding the collectibles littered throughout the game. However, at the same time, I couldn't help but feel like the game didn't try to allow you to feel the challenges of living in the metro for 20 years. You are only allowed a small glimpse into the living conditions of the inhabitants of the Moscow metro and that for me was a big letdown.

    Most of the game is about delivering the dog tags of a fallen Spartan and hurting down D6. Along the way, you'll face everything from Communists and Nazis to mutated rat-looking creatures big enough to eat a full grown man.

    The levels themselves are fairly basic. So long as you see something to kill odds are good that's the way to go to move to the next area. By the time I nuked the Dark Ones I didn't feel like I had saved the Metro from the Dark Ones namely because they didn't really matter until near the very end of the game. I mostly played this so I could say I beat all the games thus far and while I did have fun with the game it wasn't a must play for me.    … Expand

    This is a true Re-master that really deserves the title Re-master (Very Infrequent Indeed). Metro Redux keeps itself where what made the original Metro 2033 great and puts it all into the Metro Last Light engine. Making what was a prodigious game even better; first by making the game less Unstable, and making it more streamlined in its new game engine (where the original Metro 2033 stillThis is a true Re-master that really deserves the title Re-master (Very Infrequent Indeed). Metro Redux keeps itself where what made the original Metro 2033 great and puts it all into the Metro Last Light engine. Making what was a prodigious game even better; first by making the game less Unstable, and making it more streamlined in its new game engine (where the original Metro 2033 still struggles to run smoothly on modern systems due to its un-streamlined game engine of the time). It also fixes the middle of the game ‘game breaking’ bug, in which you would be shot off the map when the player fell off the rail cart, requiring multiple reloads to fix (which was never patched in the original).

    Along with all these improvements it also adds the great things from Last Light, such as the weapon customization and modernized weapon aiming, gunplay and control layout! This also includes bringing improved textures including for the character and enemy models from Last Light (which is a nice touch).

    All while allowing you to play in the original Metro 2033 style of resource and ammo management, or you can play in a more action oriented fashion with Last Light's game style, In Redux both play styles are accommodated. Along with Ranger difficulty; which make you and your enemy’s more dangerous (something really never in other games like Call of Duty where the enemy is just more accurate).

    All and all Metro 2033 is a classic (Mystery, Horror, Resource Management, Story Driven, Shooter) all of which I would express are done superbly. I have a great passion for the original Metro 2033 game when it released along with the Book Series, and this ‘Re-master’ makes it all for the better and improved! Metro 2033’s dark post-apocalyptic setting in the Moscow Metro is like a character in its self, and gives the game and it characters a great atmosphere. Highly recommended to try it out and find out why so many people love this series!

    Pros: Story, Gunplay, Weapon Selection, Multiple ‘True’ difficulty settings (Play as you want to!)

    Cons: Human Enemy AI (Is sometimes respectable sometimes not so much)

    Middle: Linear Story Driven Game (Not recommend for those who love endless open world experiences)    … Expand

    Good remaster of the classic game that has problems to stay as good as it was with the time. The story is bad but this is what Fallout wished to be in their most dark moments. Worth a play overall, it's short and the sequels are much better.

    The survivor horror gameplay on this game is very good, the mask mechanics and the dark obscure atmosphere are very unique. However the weak story and cringe voice acting keeps me from giving this game a 10.

    Positive are the graphics, even if you play the game in 2020 its okay.
    What could be improved are the gun sounds.
    The movement of the enemies are definitely bad, also some quests are not very intuitive.

    Anni fa avevo iniziato ma poi abbandonato, senza un reale motivo, Metro 2033 originale. Tornata la voglia ho deciso di giocare alla versione Redux, visto che consiste quasi solo in un miglioramento grafico.
    AUDIO E GRAFICA: Colonna sonora perfetta che alterna brani cupi (bellissimo quello all'avvio del gioco ad esempio) ad altri allegri e vintage, come a far capire che la    ITALIAN:

    AUDIO E GRAFICA:
    Colonna sonora perfetta che alterna brani cupi (bellissimo quello all'avvio del gioco ad esempio) ad altri allegri e vintage, come a far capire che la gente usa la musica per tirarsi su di morale.
    Dialoghi e doppiaggio non eccellenti ma buoni (anche in italiano) ed effetti sonori buoni, pure con un'ottima stereofonia che aiuta in certi momenti.

    Graficamente invece il gioco si presenta più moderno del Metro 2033 originale ma non per forza migliore in quanto questo forse era più "piatto" e cupo.
    In ogni caso il gioco è piacevole da vedere ma si capisce che è ormai di qualche anno fa, soprattutto nelle animazioni e alcuni oggetti dell'ambiente. Ben curate invece le armi.

    GAMEPLAY:
    Il gioco si presenta come un FPS con qualche elemento survival, stealth ed RPG, ma anche con tanti elementi caratteristici.

    Il gioco è diviso in capitoli e missioni, ma il nostro personaggio evolverà lungo l'intera storia potendo cambiare e personalizzare il proprio equipaggiamento, oltre a compiere qualche scelta di trama.

    Il gameplay sarà invece molto influenzato dall'ambiente in cui ci troviamo, visto che all'aria aperta saremo obbligati ad indossare una maschera antigas (con il rischio di finire i filtri o di rompere il vetro della maschera) mentre nel sottosuolo potremo vivere senza (ma stando attenti ad altre cose).

    L'unico aspetto che non mi ha convinto appieno è che nonostante sia presente un buon quantitativo di armi, alcune delle quali estremamente affascinanti, finiremo per usarne poche, visto che alcune garantiscono poche munizioni o costano troppo, prediligendo invece le armi più comuni. Non essendo presenti troppi soldi nel gioco è meglio spenderli per munizioni, filtri, medikit e granate piuttosto che per nuove armi, senza dimenticare la possibilità di personalizzare le armi in proprio possesso.

    Infine c'è da dire come il looting sia uno degli elementi principali del gioco, in quanto dovremo saccheggiare i corpi e rovistare in ogni angolo della mappa per trovare munizioni, filtri e altri oggetti fondamentali per sopravvivere. A volte sono presenti anche dei "segreti", in quanto alcune zone sono volutamente ben nascoste oppure necessitano di una chiave per poterci accedere.

    STORIA:
    Il gioco è abbastanza breve, io l'ho finito in circa 10 ore ma sono molto meticoloso nell'esplorazione.
    Nonostante la brevità però si riesce ad entrare abbastanza bene in una realtà post-apocalittica molto ben strutturata e pensata (non a caso il gioco è tratto da un libro).

    La trama base è semplice, bisogna sopravvivere ed aiutare la popolazione che si è rifugiata nella metropolitana di Mosca, ma questo porta a situazioni piuttosto interessanti, anche se forse in troppo rapida successione.

    Mi fa davvero impazzire come la moneta del gioco siano i proiettili "buoni", ormai rari e quindi di valore, così come i nomi e l'aspetto delle armi realizzate all'interno della Metro utilizzando rottami.

    L'unico aspetto che può confondere è puramente collegato al quel "2033" presente nel nome, in quanto l'ambiente in cui ci si trova sembra più di qualche anno fa o al massimo contemporaneo più che futuristico (che per me è un pregio, ma il nome può sviare).

    Per concludere, Metro 2033 è un gioco adatto ad un pubblico vastissimo, in quanto unisce velocità e divertimento ad una buona storia, una bellissima ambientazione e alcune meccaniche uniche. Inoltre essendo piuttosto breve non risulta essere particolarmente impegnativo da finire (a meno che non lo si giochi a difficoltà alte).

    Gameplay: I liked the attitude of the developers to the details. I really feel how they emphasized realism. The weapon is interesting and original, not very much, and you can only carry 3 small arms and 2 missile weapons with you, plus a knuckle-knife. There is no automatic reloading, if the last cartridge in the clip went into the barrel, wait for the misfire. Ammo is always small. Another interesting point is the powder smoke from the shot that obscures the view, which makes it difficult to make a subsequent shot, and it's cool. All enemies wear helmets, and more than half also wear gas masks. Therefore, you can kill such with a single shot right on the neck, side or back. Well, or knocking down this helmet first. But then the enemies will sound the alarm. Sometimes they will let you shoot with an easel machine gun and a flamethrower, a pleasant trifle.

    Definitely a great game! Great setting and atmosphere and good story. There is some minor problems though. There's some issues with the dialogue volumes; when you walk in a crowded space everyone just starts talking at the same time with the same volume and it becomes really annoying in the first hours of the game.     I love this game! Locations with many people why try to survive in this hell. We can feel their pain and their misery. This game is better in russian because the characters use russians slangs and expressions. Unfortunately people can't translate this to another language. But it's very atmospheric post-apocalyptic game I recommend it to everyone!

Перечисленные вопросы и критика мне не показались раскрытыми достаточно хорошо, но это определённо плюс, что такое здесь присутствует.
    Играть же во всё это интересно. Перестрелки и стелс не надоедают, возможно, потому что они чередуются с «мирными» этапами, в которых мы можем спокойно послушать местные диалоги, выпить в баре, купить патроны и оружие. Когда я впервые бродил среди этих людей, занятых своими делами, болтающих о том о сём, я очень сильно погружался в здешнюю атмосферу. К сожалению, это чувство ближе к концу игры ослабевало, но тем не менее продолжало присутствовать. Вообще первые 30 минут игры для меня были каким-то откровением, я пророчил игре статус шедевра, но по итогу могу сказать, что я испытал умеренные и приятные чувства.
    Короче говоря, «Метро» - качественный и крепкий проект. Советую вам поиграть.    … Expand

    Metro: 2033 Redux es la mejora del Metro Original, y vaya que si se nota. Si eres detallista verás como se han añadido nuevos efectos, más y mejores telarañas, mejores texturas, y aditamentos varios. No le otorgo mayor nota porque no tiene tanto mérito como cuando se publicó Metro 2033 en 2010.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Great game overall (save for the graphics, but it is quite old now so it is expected)

    Good parts:
    - Atmosphere - dark and claustrophobic, hella engaging and a bit scary
    - Story - a compelling journey with a bit too much of convenient saviors and accidents for our guy
    - Characters - alive and worthy of your sympathy, although there are literally no female characters in the game, which seems odd since they are definitely alive in the metro, yet not one of them plays a somewhat significant role? Huh?
    - The gameplay is linear, but good

    Bad parts:
    - Some of the enemies are annoying to fight
    - Sometimes something bugs out
    - The "Bad Guys were not actually bad they were just trying to communicate" twist is completely unearned since they were straight-up killing people ??? so how am I supposed to feel sympathetic for them all of a sudden?

    Overall go for the game if you are not scared of a somewhat dated graphics and you will get a great story and a world to love. Cheers.    … Expand

    I didnt like this as much as the original Metro, maybe because it destroyed its atmosphere a little bit and felt more like playing Last Light in a different location than completelly different game but its still the same as the original in a sense so its still **** amazing.

    If I wanted to watch a movie, I would watch a movie. This game is PACKED with boring and unskippable cutscenes in horrifically annoying Russian accents. When you can actually play, the gameplay is clunky and clumsy. Terrible game, poor execution and absolutely zero fun.

    I am late to the Metro games, so going back to an older title can sometimes have weird consequences.
    I suspect the game was designed for a console with how the gunplay and certain menus work.

    Gameplay is still solid, and I love the supernatural vibes the game gives off. If nothing else this game certainly made me pick up the novel which is a fun read!

The tunnels are very well constructed and you feel like going through a huge labyrinth most of the time. In these canal-system you will find some Human-Camps in which you really feel the agony of the surviving people in thisA game filled with Action, claustrophobic Tunnels, Nazis, Russians and lots of Monsters of all sorts. When it comes to atmosphere this game really has it all. The tunnels are very well constructed and you feel like going through a huge labyrinth most of the time. In these canal-system you will find some Human-Camps in which you really feel the agony of the surviving people in this demonic-like/apocalyptic World. The Human-Species is suffering and this game knows how to present it well, with a heroic story of a young man who tries to make the world a better place again. On your journey you will meet a few companions, loose some, make new friends, do all kinds of stuff like engeneering, dissabling traps, tiptoeing your way around enemies and lots of shooting.

    The story is well written and playing this game feels like a mix of Fallout 3 (scenery), Call of Duty (action-combat) and Resident-Evil (horror). Short 9 hours filled with agony, heartwarming moments and apolcalyptic monsters.

    You have a few weapons/grenades to choose from and also customization-hubs to advance your inventory or customize already owned weapons. I played 80% of the campaign in Hardcore-Mode but to be honest I´d rather not. Some levels especially at the end are pretty hard and it just destroys your immersion to do the same level again and again until you finally manage to pull it off. Combat feels okay, but there isn´t much recoil, which makes gun-handling fairly easy. For me stealth-gameplay was the most enjoyable way to play.

    All-in-all a great experience and I am really looking forward to play the next titles in the series! Worth every penny!

    The game easily deserves at least an 8, which is only weighed down by the ever-so-slightly-simplified gameplay, somewhat short length, and some glitches here and there. It's definitely a game all shooter fans should add to their repertoire.    … Expand

    I found the difficulty a little bit broken at times especially during the "War" level. When the Russians spot you, they announce "He's HERE!!!" in a heavy russian accent which was quite humorous. However, if you come out of stealth you will quickly perish.

    If you enjoy Wolfenstein, you will probably like this as well but there's definitely less ammo. Part of the puzzle is finding out where to go through the campaigns linear levels.

    Probably the hardest first-person shooter of last gen. For some reason, Metro Exodus looks more forgiving but that's probably wishful thinking.    … Expand

    Bad game in my opinion, boring gameplay, not much to explore and what you explore is just so simple that it doesn't make up for low/bad exploration part of game, game is just not good, only good thing is atmosphere and music but for that I can just listen to soundtrack, performance on pc is not good. Not recommended!

    Wow, what an amazing game! The story was thrilling, the scenes were going from action packed to unnervingly quiet and suspicious. It was a perfect mix of horror and thriller and action film. The gunplay was very good IMO and the story was interesting, very good for an FPS game of this type.

    Metro 2033 Redux is a good game: sound and visuals are great and they create amazing atmosphere, interesting mix of Fallout and Stalker. Gunplay is satisfying and exploration is as good as it can be in a strictly linear game.
    On the other hand, the game has way too many bugs for something that has word Redux in its name and stealth mechanics are not very good.

    7/10 because i experienced some bugs in the game. If i would not have had bugs then a solid 8/10 or even 9/10. This is a story driven atmospheric slow paced sneaky shooter. In a way if brings the mind to half life 2 even if it cant measure up to it fully. Characters are well done but a bit quickly discarded. But it makes sense since you are sneaking around in the subway tunnels of Moscow.

    Terrible level design. The problem I have with these games is getting lost in a linear designed campaign. Where do you go what are you supposed to do? Dead City is a perfect example of this. You can give all the accolades you want. But honestly does anyone take the time to actually think about guiding the player on their objective with these games?

    If you don't have 2033 this would be a great time to get it, if you do, like me, it is a total rip-off and a waste of your time and money. i'm so angry and disappointed, I wish i'd seen a review like this before i bought it because i had suspicions but there wasn't any to be found. Don't buy it if you own the original!!

    It features an excellent atmosphere and art, very nice and frightening cut scenes, a basic but sound combat system, a cool array of tools (gas mask, torchlight, night vision, electric charger, air pump for air weapons), an excellent campaign.

    Surely there are defects (bad/unnatural animations for some monsters, bad voice acting for the kids) but they are totally forgivable.    … Expand

    Don't like that you can't save or reload whenever you want. There is only auto save and reload from last checkpoint if you die.     I got to Lost tunnels followed Bourbon and he's turning the wheel to open a gate and all of a sudden I get weird cutscenes and my character falls to the ground gasping and dies, think it's something to do with the gas mask and then reload from last checkpoint and the same thing happens, Iam stuck. This is frustrating and annoying as it reloads just before I die and I can't do anything to fix it as you only get one reload checkpoint.

    That really pisses me off, not worth wasting my time on this.
    I don't like this game at all, it's strange like Iam just in some movie I barely have any control over.
    The only good thing about the game is the atmosphere but I hate this game otherwise, it's just horrible and frustrating and not fun at all.

    I got both Metro games in a bundle for 90% off. I expect Last Light will be more of the same rubbish.

    This game was a huge surprise for me, such a underrated game, a really good fps, well otimized e well done, if you are bored or really looking for some new game play this one.

    One of the most atmospheric and immersive first person shooters of recent years becomes even better, by enriching its gameplay, normalizing its performance and enhancing its graphics, with the use of the latest 4A engine features. Its main disadvantage is the discontinuation of price discount for those who already own the original Metro 2033 upon official release.
