Ten years later, Snake, who had organized his own army in Colombia, South America, is visited by a visitor from Costa Rica, a country without an army.
Costa Rica, a region of Latin America that holds the key to the East-West power balance since the Cuban Missile Crisis, has miraculously maintained peace. However, mysterious armed groups have been making suspicious moves across the country.
They ask Snake to investigate and eliminate the group.
Snake hesitates to accept the request, but the tape they bring contains the voice of The Boss, who was supposed to be dead.
