Sep 2, 2025There are plenty of contenders for FPS game time these days and while some may try and add new features or unique gameplay dynamics, Metal Eden takes a look back at what made the classics great and basically just combines all the best features and bundles them into a beautifully realised sci fi world in a way that feels new but also familiar. A brilliant combination of the old and the new. Well worth grabbing and having a play for those of us “Boomers” and for the younger gamers alike.

Sep 2, 2025Fast-paced story shooter that combines thrilling battles in slightly monotonous levels with a cool sci-fi atmosphere.

Oct 8, 2025METAL EDEN is an artistic achievement. The sci-fi game impresses with stunning visual direction and masterful audio design, and the soundtrack by Sonic Mayhem delivers a pulse-pounding experience. Although the combat mechanics borrow heavily from genre staples, the concentrated 6-hour campaign respects players' time and compensates with style and artistic intention. The result is a solid, if familiar, sci-fi FPS that punches above its weight class.

Sep 3, 2025Metal Eden takes all the style and substance of Ruiner and brings to the table a fun and challenging first-person shooter.

Sep 3, 2025METAL EDEN is a satisfyingly fast paced slaughter as you glide through the air and tear out the hearts of your enemies. With the varied weaponry at the Hyper Unit’s disposal, you’ll certainly have a blast rescuing the citizens of Moebius from the cryptic engineers, even if the conclusion comes quickly.

Sep 2, 2025Reikon Games mixed Doom with Ghostrunner, added a pinch of Titanfall 2 and Metroid Prime, and shook it all up to create a unique and delicious cocktail. Now that's what I call a surprise!
-
Sep 3, 2025Metal Eden is free of mission creep, focusing on refined movement, breakneck speed and punchy combat. It does those things well, embedded in an interesting fiction and shiny cyberpunk environments. A few objectives and systems aren’t always clear, and the game’s linear design and rigid mission structure could use some breathing room, as it starts to feel a bit repetitive. All in all, Metal Eden is a fun, fast and furious sci-fi shooter and will definitely appeal to fans of the genre.
-
Oct 1, 2025Metal Eden presents itself as a visually striking yet brief action experience, boasting innovative gameplay mechanics. However, the game falls short in terms of boss encounters and narrative.
-
Sep 2, 2025Metal Eden is worth recommending to those who love challenging, fast-paced, sci-fi action similar to games like Doom — that is, if the price tag matches its length. Otherwise, this might be one of those "wait-for-sale" games, but it's nonetheless one that is worth a play once it becomes worth the money.
-
Sep 2, 2025Metal Eden is a good game plagued by development problems. It can be a valid alternative to DOOM Eternal.
-
Sep 5, 2025Metal Eden is a video game about synthetic humans and robots, and in an almost meta-narrative sense, it feels cold and soulless. The pursuit of rhythmic and engaging gameplay is evident, yet another attempt to emulate the Doom formula. The experience feels repetitive and linear, less layered or challenging than it could have been. Moreover, the game even underuses its signature mechanic, the absorption of cores, which becomes quite repetitive over time. It's not a bad game, let's be clear: those who enjoy FPS challenges with "push-forward" gameplay have at least eight missions to test themselves with various weapons and a narrator with a lot to say. Ultimately, it's a shame: it could have been much more daring...

Sep 2, 2025Metal Eden is a fun introduction for a boomer-shooter novice, but its stop-start nature, from the giddy highs of breakneck action to neck-breaking narrative brick walls, burned me out.
-
Sep 23, 2025The combination of the visual design and the story setup make Metal Eden an enticing experience before even booting it up. And while it tries to blend that sci-fi world with fast-paced combat centered around parkour and hot-swapping weapons, the pieces don't fit together tight enough to be enjoyable for a long enough percentage of its short runtime. When the credits roll it feels unfinished, and at times throughout it feels misguided. When you've got significant upgrades, inside of the later levels, it approaches a satisfying shooter experience, it's just a shame that it isn't at least a few levels longer, which would make the package feel more complete. A few issues can be softened with some polish, by tweaking values and cooldowns or fixing the way you sometimes jarringly mantle a ledge to the side that you can't see when you jump, but the largest ones would require an adjustment to the design philosophy overall.
-
Sep 3, 2025Metal Eden delivers on its promise of fast-paced combat and fluid movement, but its generic world and shallow narrative hold it back. A fun, albeit short, experience that leaves you wanting more than it’s able to deliver.

Sep 18, 2025Metal Eden delivers a fast-paced, polished experience that blends elements from DOOM and Ghostrunner. While its narrative is secondary, the intense gameplay makes it an exhilarating ride. [Recommended]
