Highly repetitive cash grab with intrusive micro-transactions. Combat is shallow and level design is very lazy. Full of glitches as well.

The bad: The game is very poorly optimised and broken. After 6 months it's still crashing on pc to desktop about once an hour even though my system can run 1080 on high rec specs. Lip syncing is an issue constantly which breaks immersion and often sound over laps causing audio chaos. Most game pads don't work with it but it's a gamepad game. Lip syncing is an issue constantly which breaks immersion and often sound over laps causing audio chaos. Most game pads don't work with it but it's a gamepad game. The game is full of microtransactions. Loot boxes everywhere and crates with zero explanation. Very little makes sense. The story is often confusing and has holes. Everyone is ugly for no reason. The lead calls her father by his name and mentions she has a mother but never mentions her again like she doesn't matter but claims family is the most important thing so a mess. The game steals from every superior game including Spider-Man. The controls are sloppy and tank like and have no way to change in options. The game is made for consoles. Overall the story is trash. The menu system is clunky and janky and glitchy and busywork. You can't equip your upgrades so nothing matters. Same few robot enemies and the worse villains. No Spider-Man!!! Lots of static environments and walking sims. All combat is identical and revolves around smashing buttons. The weakest enemy can 1 shot hulk. Super repetitive.

The good: the lead character Khan is fun. The campaign is fun enough and has some high points. It plays a little like a poor man's mass effect. When it runs it looks good but the environments / maps are shallow and often on rails and small. Sounds ok. Can be fun to play.

Summary: The single player should have been a polished 20 paid game with free to play mp. Overall def play it if you like aaa and to a much lesser extent the avengers as at times it seems like that franchise but like a cheap knock off. If you pay 10 it's good value. The worse part is we won't get another games becasue of this. These wonderful characters deserved so much better. It's all just so disappointing and insidious. 5/10 for fans. A missed opportunity. 4/10 for all others as it's a bad game pretending to be average.

i could totally feel the deadpan expression of my decently cosplaying character model while dutifully jumping and shooting and kicking my way through it's environments, working myself through the objectives of collecting stuff or causing overblown particle effects with booming noises, just like everyone else around me. There was also storytelling in animated sequences, meaning that some stuff was happening I had no part in which lead me to the next mission where I collected the same stuff, shot the same enemies and destroyed similar things according to slightly altered mission descriptions.

I was also supposed to unlock new styles of shooting, kicking and destroying while looking a bit fancier. And I bet, 8 year old me would have had a lot more fun because, hey, that guy looks almost like Thor from the movies! And of course back then Thor would have been four pixels, making beeping noises. Meaning that, if you've played a lot of video games, this one is very, very skippable.

It's a little sad given the love that I have for the franchise, but not surprising.

    ________________________________________

    3- EXCLUSIVIDADE SPIDER-MAN

Built on the same engine that ran (most) of the newer "Tomb Raider" reboots, you instantly see the limitations of such an engine when it comes to combat and artificial intelligence a.k.a. their isn't any intelligence nor well-designed combat. The frenetic introduction which has players diving into 30 seconds to a few minutes of random characters flailing around with attacks, dodging, and being essentially impervious until a slight ramping up in difficulty when you switch over to Black widow's little semi boss fight. The whole ordeal ends (even begins) with an obvious evil scientist subplot, and how the whole thing was obviously a ploy to make the Avengers look bad so the bad guy could do his real plan and... blah, blah, blah, blah... where have we heard this same plot before?

"Kuh-mala-Khan" is literally the last thing I'd want to forced to play as for an entire single-player game, yet here I am, forced to sit through awful, awful dialogue and voice-work that would make fans of the movies embarrassed. This chick is just not likeable, in fact I hated her immediately after I realized what a freaking weirdo she was and how loads of her written dialogue made her sound like some sort of spaz-tastic idiot who has no idea what is happening around her at any given time. I hate Kammalala-kong. I have no interest in her zero-stakes entry level adventure story that occasionally or eventually allows me to play as the rest of the Avengers. That's not a good way to structure your game whatsoever.

From what I can tell, the game is a bit of a mess, a mixed bag and the performance is pretty awful for seemingly no good reason, but the foundation engine was always prone to being a buggy unoptimized piece of crap that was only ever fixed by driver updates, or (not unlike "Rise of the Tomb Raider) patches from the developer years after the initial release that finally fixed major problems. Here its fairly inexcusable because their is no ray-tracing, it looks worse visually than games like "Control" or even "Shadow of the Tomb Raider," a game using the exact same engine. Several times I was forced to reload checkpoints because audio or scripting would break entirely, making it impossible to move forward, or impossible to not hear two characters suddenly talking over each other at the same time or entirely devoid of dialogue audio.

I think this game sucks, even after the first 45 minutes I don't think I could possibly stand playing an even more cut down version of a nu-Tomb Raider game. Whatever they were going for seems to be more multiplayer orientated, but they could've at least attempted a decent plot here for any of the single-player. The combat is dull and oversimplified. The visuals aren't worth writing home about, and the main character (who is utterly obnoxious) literally sucks to look at or hear. Not really sure what they were trying to accomplish by making players hate the game.

The graphics are ok, at best, however the frequent framerate drops will ruin it for you. And I'm playing this after the first content update (also known as: what should've been in the game at launch), so there aren't many bugs I've encountered. The story is also a generic good-guys vs bad-guys scenario. The enemy variety is some of the worst I've ever seen, it's just three different robots fought over and over and over again! And there are like FOUR BOSSES then again, fought over and over and over again. And the character models, don't get me started on those. You're telling me that Square Enix could license the right to use the Marvel characters, but not their film likenesses? The models look like knockoff action figures instead of the Avengers. And the multiplayer is dead as well (888 average players in last 30 days). All in all, Marvel's Avengers is a shameless Destiny wannabe with horrendous gameplay and combat, a generic story, and HORRIBLE character models for $60. For $60 you can get the Batman Arkham trilogy on Steam, or if you want a looter-shooter, play Destiny 2 for FREE. And by the way, I got this with my processor for free and I still feel ripped off. It broke my heart to see how frustrating and bad this game is. This game had so much potential and could have started a parallel MCU like universe for Marvel games. The only good part of the game was the first mission where the game switches all the avengers one by one and was actually well done. After that it was like Thanos snapped all the fun out of this game. The game is filled with generic robots, boring missions, 2-3 super-villains and similar looking labs and maps over and over again. The gameplay mainly involves punching stationary robots, standing in an area until Jarvis hacks the door or clearing the area out of the enemies. The dodge in this game is infuriating and doesn't work. The worst thing is the microtransaction and loot. The gear changes stat which you do not feel during gameplay, it doesn't changes how you look making it pretty useless since there is a button to just pick the best mods in your inventory, so you don't even bother checking what it does. The skill tree is so passive that you don't even care. All the costumes need to be paid with real cash. I am glad this kind of MTX filled game failed badly. I hope the rights to Marvel games are handed over to Insomniac or some other studio who will do the characters justice and truly open up a gaming Marvel Universe like Rocksteady did to Batman.

Get the hell out of here with that.
Gameplay initially is good, but over time gets worse, it loses its luster because its extremely repetitive. You do the same kind of thing over and over and over, and they want you to do it with more than one character, rather eat a bowl of nails.
AI's are braindead on your team, not that much better for the enemies. Speaking of enemies, majority of bosses are just...generic, like you fight PURPLE man! as opposed to like, any bad guy in the marvel universe, you get a few, but they're so far and few in between you don't care.
The 'new' avenger is someone nobody really cares about, her gameplay is alright, one of the best in fact, but her story stuff and her cutscenes make her come off as just...wrong, shes pretentious, gets super powers for seemingly no reason and comes off as specifically shoved in to appease the 'woke' audience...when there is no woke audience.
Its also buggy as all hell, pick up a rock as the hulk? Crash, stand in an area with lots going on, crash, Things glitching into walls reasonably often, and more.
The character specific battlepass style things, dear lord, no. Absolutely not. Battlepass style things are annoying at the best of times, but its made al lthe worse here by having so many, it comes across as just a way to waste your time and thats how the whole game really feels.

I think it's high time we stop buying tripe like this and support good games and good developers that maybe don't have the budget or reach that the big cats have, but are making endlessly better games with endless amounts more love and passion.

This game is a corporate check list and it absolutely disgusts me. About the only thing it has going for it is the shiny visuals, and even then they are looking dated by todays standards. It amazes me that these people have the balls to release empty husks of "games" such as this. No shame at all.

And they know for a fact that kids everywhere will be tugging their mothers jumpers begging them to buy this game. They know this, and therefore, they know a game like this could never fail. Especially when it includes the words "marvel" and "avengers" in the title.

This game is a shining example of everything that's wrong with the video game industry today. If you buy it, shame on you and i feel no sympathy for you..

Stop being part of the problem. With every garbage cash-grab product you guys purchase, you fund another. You show them its okay and that we accept this quality in our video games.

You are encouraging them. PLEASE, STOP.

There are too many gaming platforms that receive money for good reviews, please don't fool yourself buying this game. This game:

It's full of microtransactions The game is really clunky, feels really unpolished The story is shallow and borderline pathetic The combat is really boring, you smash the same button over and over See youtube reviews, see some gameplay and you'll see what

Avengers is aimed at the most naive Marvel fans willing to absolve their idols of all their sins for a chance to stand next to Captain America or Iron Man — even for just a minute. So yes, fans like Kamala Khan are the perfect target audience for this sort of drivel. Ironically, she’s also the central character of the story.

Marvel's Avengers has a lot of good parts, a lot of indifferent ones, and an overall lack of direction. [Issue#351, p.90]

Marvel's Avengers is an uneven package. A good single-player campaign, held back by a lacklustre live service multiplayer segment.
