    Mage’s Initiation: Reign of the Elements is a well put-together adventure title. The game (like its hero) has issues, but its charms more often than not make up for them.

    Mage’s Initiation is like a modern-day Sierra On-Line gem, an extraordinarily polished adventure game. If the battle sections were improved and the RPG elements better integrated, this would be a near-perfect experience, but it’s still a game that should cast a spell on any genre fan.

    An honest, heart-on-its-sleeve tribute to the Quest for Glory games of yore. It does not reinvent the wheel, nor does it aspire to. A pleasantly nostalgic return to gaming's most romantic era.

    This game is for any fan of old school Sierra adventure games especially from the Quest for Glory series. Sure, the game suffers from many pitfalls that were commonplace in old Sierra adventure games, the player character's voice acting isn't always the best and I'm not a fan of the cutscenes either, but overall this is a game I found addictive and ultimately worthwhile: convincing characters, gorgeous artwork, a strong voice cast, logical puzzles and excellent replay value means this is a game I'll likely come back to again and again.… Full Review »
