    First 5 hours of the game so far. Interesting, developing story with hints to previous games. Small yet lively game world with lots of open buildings. Great characters. Waiting for 60 fps patch to check optimisation but is running at 30 fps max settings with my GTX 960 and FX-6350 O/C.     bland saints row 3 clone with last gen gfx. would have been AAA in 2010 but not 2016!

    there was a reason we did not receive review copies ahead of release! and the reason was to scam the hell out of customers with a sub par product!

    Terrible depth of field simulation. The thing about true depth of field is that it depends on the object your eyes are focused on. In Mafia 3 you can only guess where that object is and most of the things on the screen are pretty randomly blurry. Looks weird and cheap.     Mafia 3 is a fraud to the pc gamers; 30fps lock isn't the problem, the problem are bug, crash, low texture quality (worst than Mafia 2!!!) and lot of others problem; this software is in alpha! Don't buy.

    Dear Publisher/Developer. PC gamer's are like wine connoisseurs of gaming. The fact they have PC, instantly puts them into the Gamer category. Every other platform will always settle for less. For that reason, either, support the PC release with another year's worth of development before release. Or don't do it. You are trying to sell cheap wine in an expensive bottle to people whoDear Publisher/Developer. PC gamer's are like wine connoisseurs of gaming. I had to redo my original review of this game after playing an additional 17 hours or so as one of the complaints that I wrote about (having to return to the safehouse to stash my character's cash in between missions in order not to lose half of it if my character died) was not valid. Turns out you can unlock a perk from Vito that grants you the consigliere who you call on your phone and the show up in less than 5 seconds to collect your money.

    So since I can;t just edit my original review here's a rewritten one:

    For me the game is quite enjoyable. It looks quite good to me and runs smoothly at 60 FPS since I installed the patch. I have had one CTD in 26 hours of game play. (My system is nothing special- I7-2600K@3,4 GHz, NVidia GeForce GTX 970 with the latest driver, 32 GB ram, Windows 10 64 bit, Sony SSD)

    I think that the reason that there are so many negative reviews is that people weren't expecting an Assassin's Creed type of gameplay. If you like to run and gun you probably won't like this game. Stealth is a huge part of the game especially in the first dozen or so hours. Patient is a virtue in short supply these days so I feel that rather than admit that they are impatient people they just slam the game. If your style is run and gun you will die a lot. And I do mean A LOT. Also if you don't like late 60's music and IMO a rather accurate portrayal of the racism that existed in the 60's (I turned 13 in 1965) you probably won't get it but trust me, it is an accurate portrayal. The first school that I attended was segregated and I still remember the anger and rage that so many white people felt about that issue. Get over it, it happened.

    The only complaint that I have about this game is the lack of a manual save feature; of course this is not a small thing. Honestly I can't give this game more than a 7 because of that but since so many, um, mentally challenged people have given it zeros (I mean really, a zero???) I decided to put mine at 10 for the official count just to try and balance things out a little. If you played and enjoyed Assassin's Creed IV and liked it I think that you will probably really enjoy this game.

    A few thoughts about the game design:
    -You are limited to two weapons at the start, some type of pistol and a shotgun, rifle, automatic rifle, or machine gun. Ammo is also limited although you can pick up the NPC's as you kill them assuming that they are using the same type of weapon that you are.
    -The driving in the game (and there is no fast travel option like the taxi in GTA V) reminds me of GTA IV, Cars will only survive a 3-6 crashes depending on how severe they are before they just stop running,
    -I found the story quite engaging and the cutscenes (and there are a lot of them) look so very cinematic. The facial motion capture that they used sets a new standard for quality; it is quite literally amazing..

    No game is for everyone. If you like Call of Duty and GTA V you will most likely not enjoy this game so don't buy it. That simple. And who buys a $60 game without spending at least an hour on YouTube checking out the gameplay before buying? There have been play throughs of Mafia 3 for at least two weeks on YouTube (check the Angry Joe Show and TheRadBrad channels for some). But I just don't see how any honest reviewer could give this game less than perhaps a 5. There are indeed some odd design decisions but what game doesn't have those? I know that some people have complained about having trouble getting the game to run and crashes. All that I can advise on that is to make sure that your video drivers are up to date before you start. Download and run an excellent program called CCleaner that scans for issues with your registry and then fixes them. If you don't have a SSD defragment your harddrive before you start downloading the game. Repair the game in Steam (remember, Google is your friend). If you do buy the game, relax and enjoy it! It is a very well done game-not perfect by any means. The lack of a manual save is especially irksome (I do hope the developers fix that via patch sooner rather than later) but other than that, just think Assassin't Creed and not GTA V when you buy it.    … Expand

    I never uninstalled PC game so fast like Mafia III. My expectations were really high, because Mafia I was really amazing (One of the my first games), Mafia II was really cool too. I do not understand why they could not follow such a good series...Maybe the story is a little bit interesting but that port. The game is so f**** broken. I am afraid that either updates won't help.

GTA IV figured this out in 2008, and look at GTA V now which is basically the messiah of PC ports done properly AND can be considered a direct competitor to your ridiculous game.     Bad graphics, poor optimization, pink everywhere, too many bugs. Another crude port from the console.
    For the money to buy a better GTA 5 multiplayer though there is.

    This game is really fun and is worth playing for the sound design alone. Best Voice Acting/Sound Effects/Soundtrack of any open world game ever. Definitely recommend.

    At the time of writing, an FPS patch is in place to fix the 30 FPS lock, but not only was the fact the game wasn't released with that already in place shocking enough, it won't fix the issues the actual game has.     Simply its not even half way for PC, feels like pre alpha or something, really disappointment, do not buy Pc version its not worth it even with 60 fps, i doubt that a major texture fix its done, this is really REALLY bad for an AAA(?) game

    This game looks terrible.Very awful port from consoles.Textures looks like from 2004(really) and drops to 17 fps(on i3 6100 and rx 470).Empty city.Only one plus in this game- music.

    I don't want to rate this game, because it isn't a game. My score describes attitude of developers to gamers. I have spent only five minutes in game and already flew out through textures. When I tried to screenshoot this fail, game was crashed. Terrible. How can it be possible in 2016?

    It's ugly, it's locked at 30fps, and they dont want you playing this on PC. I don't understand how they could let this fly after all the recent fiasco with batman and all the other **** ports.

    This does not feel like a Mafia game at all, its far from it. I stopped playing the game after I got bored of it, also got tired of some of the bugs in the game and the extremely bad AI.

    Mafia 3 reminds me of other bad or mediocre games. For some reason they have put alot of time into graphics (which sucks by the way) and not to much into game-play.     What a disapointment. You know which part of this game is good? Soundtrack, only soundtrack. But you know what? They ddidnt make it so kudos to somebody else. Everything else looks cheap, dated and from the start you know you are not playing AAA game. This game looks like it was made by some small studio somewhere in asia.

    Just another developer showing that PC gaming has to be downgraded to the lowest common denominator...Please, learn from CD Projekt Red and Witcher 3

    I really really really wanted to like this game, well, I do like it in small doses but it is frankly impossible to get immersed into fantastic story Hangar 13 concocted due to sheer number of technical issues plaguing the PC version.

    Really disappointed with Mafia 3. Please respect PC community and finish your product guys (so now, 2 days after release when the game got negative reviews you plan to unlock the framerate? Like that could not have been thought of prior to release).

Options ported straight from console with vsync and resolution options added. Pop up galore. Muddy textures. Horrible upscaling. 30fps frame rate cap. I'm playing in 2560x1080 and all the cutscenes and menus are cropped, and I've got it good.One of the worst ports of the year.     Pains me to say this, I know the game is locked at 30FPS, that is not my main issue, the issue is that the game does hold at 30 but it stutters, it stutters badly, I do not know if it is because I have a 144hz monitor and I am noticing it more, its not playable in this state for me, such a shame.

Story? Around 6 hours and yes, good, but in 1st Mafia was the best story, 2nd Mafia still better. Graphic? Just like GTA IV. Shadows? Maybe next time. FPS locker? Been playing with a friend's and AI is just unfitting for 2016. A true scam. Do NOT buy any 2K game in the future, this is just a fraud.     This game is garbage. Boring, bugged, ugly. They just recreate Mafia 2 DLCs. Even more! Those DLCs are playable than Mafia 3. Just don't waste your money and time.

    I don't understand people complaining about the graphics. Are we really playing the same game ?? Ok there are bugs and graphics issues, I'm aware of it, but nothing really important. People juste reviewing with a score of 0 juste because of that ? 30fps ? Seriously ???
    Well, they just miss a great plot and a great game.

    Wonderfull game, great story, perfect voice acting. The story so far is brilliant and the combat is fun. The visuals are outdated, but i dont mind that:)

    Nomination for worst game 2016 AAA grade. On its background, many indie games in 2016 look much better. No one in their right mind would not recommend to buy.

Actually recorded the first 45minutes of the game for anyone wanting to get a feel for the game before hand.

    It is almost the worst game i have ever played. Bad console port. Garbage. Graphics is outdated, AI is stupid. Controls are broken. Don't buy this game atm.

It is those kind of games that when you start playing, you just can't stop..

    ... so as soon as the game got released, i installed it and started playing, and to be honest i didnt expect the game to be as good as the previous just by watching the game play trailers, but i did expect the game to be atleast half as good as Mafia 1 or 2, and man i was wrong.. This game is just a disaster, the gameplay is just sad, and can't be compared with Mafia 2. the AI is **** as if they didnt feel like scripting it properly, the story is boring, i could have lived with the 30fps, as long as the game would be good, but sadly even if they fix that the game will still be sad, i took a day off work to play Mafia 3 the whole day, and i turned the game down after 2 hours, i just had enough, i've waited a long time for this game and i'm very disappointed, they shouldn't even have named this game Mafia3 .    … Expand

    I can get by with the graphics BUT NOT THE AI. Is it me or have games become a joke anymore.
    Game companies know the deal......you can pretty much put out anything and the masses will buy it.
    NO MAN SKY anyone..........thank god for steam refunds lol!

    Mafia 2 was better looking for my eye, but Mafia III is like a uncut diamond, still needs to be polished, so gameplay/mechanics and sound design are really good and well done, soundtrack and driving are fantastic but looks... above average, all this work and bad graphics ruins the gameplay. Waiting for patches and more graphics options or even upgrade (textures pack).     30 FPS LOCK and constant crashes on a PC game in 2016. Looks like the game's running on a PS3 emulator with vaseline smeared all over the screen. Another Quantum Break. So disappointing.

    Really disappointed ! It has absolutely nothing to do with the mob. No mafia, no great dark ambiance. It's just a gta-like for black power. Graphics are also quite low even on high end hardware.

    The game is fun but visuals are locked at 30 frames and the graphics are all blurry and grainy. Once again a PC game is limited by the consoles. Game play and story is solid tho but i wont give it more than a 4 until they fix the fps lock and hopefully give it a graphics update to make it not look like ****

    First - the game is poorly ported, awful framerate lock, graphics are not great at all despite me having top-of-the-line hardware. The game feels unfinished.

    Second - this game smells of SJW / BLM themes. Why not make a game about cartel? In any case, I issued a refund and recommend not wasting your money on this game. Save yourself the headache and buy something more fun.

    Story itself deserves more than a bullet point. It seems to me that the people in charge of writing the story wanted to make political statement and not create a meaningful story in the Mafia universe. In the earlier two games, you took the role of a starting mobster and slowly grow in rank and become a respected member of a crime family. In this game, you take the role of a young black man who starts to rid the world of evil, racist white people. It's a black writer's power fantasy and has little to do with the original games of the series, no matter how much Vito is present in the game. It bugs me that an unskilled hack managed to hijack the series name to use it as a crutch in order to make a political statement.

    The soundtrack is kind of decent, though, as is the fact that you can refund the purchase if you bought it through Steam anf if you have played the game for two hours or less. A solid 1/10.    … Expand

    Graphics seem great, yea they could be better but can't they always?     Story so far seems well writen and well characterised I feel for clay already and I still haven't hit upon the meat and bones of the game yet.

    As for the rest of the game i haven't really got to the side objectives and taking Sal apart so i can't say anything about it which is a shame.

    Driving mechanics are serviceable I've switched to simulation and the car now feels heavy and more realistic and as for the shooting mechanics although Clay was a soldier he hasn't got the pin point accuracy of max payne because of this it feels a little more authentic with the gun fights, you won't be popping headshots left and right you will be forced to ground as you are not a bullet sponge this helps make the shooting feel tense rather than just filler, the guns so far have a nice heavy feel and the death animations of the other guys are well animated.

    Now for the nasty stuff, the game had ramdomly shut with no error message only once in my play through and when I was loading up the game i was unable to set the boarder because i couldn't see any button prompts I had to wait till i got into the game to do so (not that major i know but still an issue i came aross)

    Lastly a level headed view of gaming on PC in 201X, games are coming out quicker and sooner then ever before this is because they can cut corners and "patch it later" just like this 30FPS lock that has got all the gaming snobs in a fuss, granted we've spent alot on our gaming PCs but we've been told it WILL be patched in soon, the game is more than playable at 30FPS ANY game is playable at 30FPS so don't let that put you off of a brilliant game at this moment I am going to score it a sold 9 because I am blown away by the game in this short window, but over time I might change my score.    … Expand

    I was looking forward to this game and i am deeply disappointed.

    The big pro is the music, superbly fitting in with the period. The negatives are simply that this is very much low bugdet when it comes to low textures and an abysmal frame rate. Refund applied for.

    The picture is blurry and it looks like a very old game. I have the GTX 1080 so this is bad and it´s not ok. This is a sad day for pc gamers all over the world. Another developer who releases an unfinished game or were not qualified enough to make a playable game. The Game developers just released a big POO and i bought it. ;(

    A generic and bland "open world" with obnoxious unlikable protagonists and strawman villains. Low textures, framerate and constant crashing. This is not a Mafia game, buyer beware.

    game is fun and the story is good so far, only problem is that 30FPS lock and low textures.
    do yourself a favor wait for the patch don't skip on this game.

    Mafia III isn’t necessarily a bad game, but it is definitely not a true heir to the Mafia series. The story is rich and the gameplay is satisfying (although it’s nothing special), but having played the previous games in the series (especially the first one), I never felt like I was playing a Mafia game.
