    12 hours of pure fun, just incredible, i felt like i was watching a Godfather like movie were i could interact with it, simply amazing, beautifull game.
    I recomend it but 40 bucks might be too much for some, soo wait for a sale and get it for 10/20 bucks

    This game is not implemented as a final edition, the story is greatly shortened, many scenes are missing, the city is dead and trams with metro trains do not work for the game. There is no monetary unit in the game for capital and the meaning of playing freeride. Why was such a dead freeride made?? There are no patches! It's just an empty unfinished alpha version.     This game, as the definitive edition, does not live up to that title. The game's story is simplistic as hell. There aren't the moments of scenes that I was expecting from the game. Freeride ride is dead and doesn't even have what the original story had, all the objects and trains are not available for the player to use.

    To begin with, releasing games that aren't ready means defeating the game as a whole. I bought a product called the Definitive Edition, complete with a free-to-play open-world city mode. What I saw in fact was a shortened game from the original version by 40% less! The free mode didn't even give me what the original game had.     This game was made incomplete in everything! Just a linear short story, not completely from the original version, but just messed up everything. There is not even a patch and add-ons for so much time. I do not advise you to spoil your impressions, But rather play the original version!

    The 2nd Mafia game that I played. Even though the feature is kinda small, the adrenaline it give while playing is quite good

    The interface is wonderful. You have so much information immediately available to you. Google Maps always has a minimap in the lower left corner, which gives you a good overview of the area. Getting information about people gives you a clear, clear window. Hacking offers a menu with easily recognizable icons, so you always know what your button presses will do.

    This is a masterpiece.It was perfect from start to finish.I've finished Mafia 2 twice before this.The story was better than the other 2 games.Graphics, story, voiceover top level.One of the few games that I enjoy every second of while playing.I wish I played earlier.I wish I played earlier.

    Definitely a wayyy better experience than the original game. Experienced little-to-no bugs and the linear format was good for the story. Good gameplay too!

    Ремейк некогда культовой и серьезной игры на 11 часов при классической сложности.

    Из минусов: - в игре нет адекватного обучения, которое раскрывало бы КАК надо играть в игру, например что бы пройти гонку необходимо использовать кнопку тарана для успешных поворотов, но игра этому не обучает и в итоге тыкаешься час в заносах и полном непонимании "что не так?", зато как ради интереса    Ремейк некогда культовой и серьезной игры на 11 часов при классической сложности.

    Из минусов:

В той же опере и боевая система, в миссии где надо уделать в рукопашку челов приставучих к Саре, если не знать как ПРАВИЛЬНО драться, то бой превращается в цирк длинною в 30 минут с онли закликиванием.
    - персонаж преступно долго умирает, драматично падая на землю, зачем почему? Дико тормозит темп игры, ничего кроме раздражения и духоты не вызывает.
    - в игру надобавляли всяких доп. механик: взлом замков, угоны, таскания тел и прочее, которые бы пригодились для открытого мира, мир есть, но открыт ли он? Игра кидает игрока от миссии к миссии и изучать город нет возможности, да и нужно ли? Нет он пуст, а следовательно и механики практически полностью не юзабельны.
    - унылое радио, которое не задает атмосферы и вызывает только желание выключить его.
    - из серьезного криминального произведения с топовыми и колоритными персонажами, игра превратилась в легкий боевичек потеряв свой шарм. Еще и были в корне изменены некоторые ключевые персонажи.

    Из плюсов:
    - приятная стрельба, которая при классическом уровне сложности чувствуется с легким налетом челенджа.
    - атмосферный город, по которому приятно кататься во время выполнения миссий.
    - прикольная система копов, которые тригерятся на превышение скорости и другие легкие нарушения (плюс реализм).
    - насыщенный сюжет полный экшеновых событий (но оригинал лучше).

    Как и ожидалось, ремейк оказался полным дерьмом. В игре убого почти что всё, от озвучки и звуков до стрельбы и анимаций. Жалею, что предзаказал игру

    Unrealistic physics, definitely worse gameplay than the original game had (in 18 years, that’s something to say), NPCs just keep running/shooting when you shoot in them. Stupid hitboxes.

    Acting is good, changes in story sequences are a nice touch.

Driving music is very boring background noise and nothing more. Many missions have weird unfitting music. Overall music is not terrible but not good either.
    3) Guns sound pathetic, weak. Original game had great gun sounds compared to this.
    4) Gunplay is very generic and overall boring. It feels like you are shooting a BB gun.
    5) Missions are not true to the original. Many small and big elements get changed, replaced or just removed. Even things that do not need any tweaking at all. Some of the environments are mirrored for no reason and take away from the original experience. Many action scenes are overdone and make it look and feel like any other generic shooter game etc.

    But here is the worst offense.
    6) Characters... Why?
    Paulie is so annoying that he actually becomes obnoxious. Especially his new voice and face which I hate.
    Sam is nothing like he was before.
    Don Salieri is meh at best.
    Vincenzo is now some weird mentally ill gun nut.
    Frank is too weird and creepy. He was a genuinely nice guy before.
    Tom... is nothing like he was before. Now he is nothing more than a thug.

    Oh! Ralph is decent and Sarah is actually nice. I like her.

    Overall this game is worth 5/10, maybe 6/10 at most. But I'm forced to give this 0/10 simply because there are people who give it 9/10 and 10/10 for no good reason. Essentially this is like Steams voting system. You either give it thumbs up or thumbs down and nothing inbetween.

    Very boring gameplay, poor shooting, poor cut scene direction, poor level design. The game turned out to be extremely monotonous and boring (worse than the original). This game has only one advantage - the design of the city/modern graphics.

Support for ultra wide monitors 6. Good length campaign What I do not like about the game: 1. AI is bad 2. Animations are average 3. Glitches through out the game like missing textures    Good but not great game.

    Original has many flaws, but the storytelling and immersion made me forgive the shortcoming, with the remake, it is the other way around. Unimportant things got improved, important ones got watered down.

    Maybe if I have not known original I would enjoy the game more, but I think I would still forget about story pretty fast, In comparsion it is not as memorable and there is definately much less attachment to it.

    From the technical side, I got stable FPS, game jsut was breaking down when I would minimalize it during the cutscene, hard restart was needed. But it was playable enough, not the worth thing around.    … Expand

    Incredible remake, it shows that Hangar 13 learned from its mistakes from Mafia 3, improved the lighting a lot, the deformations of the cars are more realistic and easier to do, the cinematics are beautiful, I liked the original soundtrack and the music of the game, some animations are recycled from Mafia 3 but most of them are new, the melee combat is great, I have noticed few bugs but itIncredible remake, it shows that Hangar 13 learned from its mistakes from Mafia 3, improved the lighting a lot, the deformations of the cars are more realistic and easier to do, the cinematics are beautiful, I liked the original soundtrack and the music of the game, some animations are recycled from Mafia 3 but most of them are new, the melee combat is great, I have noticed few bugs but it does not compare with Mafia 3 in the bugs.     Like most of the reviews I'll happily admit that the world of Lost Heaven is a pretty one and the voice acting and storyline are good, however there's just not enough here to warrant the 10/10 reviews I keep seeing.

    With 10 hour playthrough time, totally linear mission structure, total lack of side missions etc, this is really does feel like a dated game wearing a shiny new coat. I    Like most of the reviews I'll happily admit that the world of Lost Heaven is a pretty one and the voice acting and storyline are good, however there's just not enough here to warrant the 10/10 reviews I keep seeing.

    I enjoyed it, but that's half the problem, it feels like a hugely missed opportunity. I really wanted to immerse myself in the world, but with clunky driving physics, sloppy aiming, dire combat options, it just never let me become part of the world.

    Even if they'd crowbarred in some of the open world bits of Mafia 3 into it I could've enjoyed it a whole lot more. If you loved the original then it's fine for for the sake of nostalgia, but don't be fooled by the 10/10 reviews, it's still an old game at its bones and it shows.

    Hopefully we see a more fully developed Mafia game down the line but this one leaves you with the feeling that you got on the wrong side of a corporate cash grab.    … Expand

    Great remake!
    Very pleasant experience of the game!
    Passed twice in a row, on the average and then on the classic level of difficulty, the last time this happened to me was when MAFIA II came out. I usually go through games again in at least a couple of years

Полностью русская локализация(на очень высоком уровне, уши радуются этим голосам), графика прекрасна, детализация на хорошем уровне, физика и управление машин выше всех похвал, звуки и музыка в игре заслуживают отдельной высокой похвалы, сюжет и катсцены переносят тебя и дают почувствовать тебе то, что было в те далёкие 30ые годы прошлого века(это простоОчень достойный ремейк 1ой мафии! Полностью русская локализация(на очень высоком уровне, уши радуются этим голосам), графика прекрасна, детализация на хорошем уровне, физика и управление машин выше всех похвал, звуки и музыка в игре заслуживают отдельной высокой похвалы, сюжет и катсцены переносят тебя и дают почувствовать тебе то, что было в те далёкие 30ые годы прошлого века(это просто невероятно)!

    Но у игры есть небольшие минусы: боёвка в рукопашную выглядит слишком тривиальной и какой-то не доделанной(выглядит очень убого как-то). То как главный герой бросает коктейли молотова и гранаты - выглядит очень убого и не естественно(он просто достаёт из пиджака и кидает, не снимая чеку с гранаты или не поджигает молотов).

    На этом всё, общая оценка за данный ремейк: 9/10, есть небольшие огрехи для меня, но они не слишком сильно занизили оценку на данную игру, всё таки она получилась если не идеальной, то очень даже не плохой.    … Expand

    The original Mafia (2002) was THE 'perfect' PC game and in many ways still is; it combined fine simulation and physics elements in both the gunplay and driving - being derived / tweaked from the fantastic 'hidden and dangerous' engine. Driving - you could even use an FFB wheel accurately, perform true drifts, clutch oversteer, liftoff oversteer, countersteer, handbreaking. The AI, being again from a milsim was robust. I could go on at length here.... but lets just end with this thought;

    Unfortunately due to the machinations of this industry - most of the older devs (globally) capable of recreating such a fine game, have long moved on to fintech/banking. The skills, dedication and talent required to 'remake' this game just don't exist anymore. Retaining the former Illusion Softworks lead is just not enough; Hanger 13 needs real talent in numbers and it just doesn't exist, not with my generation (millennial). I'm sorry...    … Expand

    This game oozes atmosphere, great remake. Really enjoyed the story, gameplay is good enough. Don't buy this one for the gameplay, if you like mobster stories this one is as good as any Scorcese on screen.

    This is a full-fledged, honest to God remake. Some changes to the story will upset hardcore fans, but I think this approach is absolutely justified. Even though this remake is not as amazing as new versions of Resident Evil 2 and Final Fantasy 7, it’s still a worthy update.

    The main difference between the remake and the original game is that the latter was outstanding for its time, while the Definitive Edition is “merely” good. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s not worth your time. What’s crucial here is the fact that Hangar 13 approached the original’s narrative with proper respect and refrained from changing it too much. Mafia: Definitive Edition might not be remarkable as an open-world action game, but it still has the story worthy of the most revered gangster movies. [12/2020, p.28]

    Mafia: Definitive Edition is a remake of mixed flavours. Some elements are just as they used to be, and it's great. Some elements are just as they used to be, and it's awful. Mixture of aged mechanics and amazing graphics, new voices, great old story and some added, yet bad storylines, make it not such a perfect remake. But it sure is worth your time, whether you are a fan of the original or not. The moral of the story survived in all its glory, just be sure to focus your attention to the details where Mafia used to and still shines the most.
