    Good but not great game.

    This is what I like about this game: 1. The story is excellent 2. The game has good graphics 3. Voice acting and music are excellent 4. Driving mechanics are cool 5. Support for ultra wide monitors 6. Good length campaign What I do not like about the game: 1. AI is bad 2. Animations are average 3. Glitches through out the game like missing textures    Good but not great game.

    I just finished the campaign and I really liked how the story was preserved like in the original game. The graphics is not bad, there are very nice reflections, pretty nice lighting, great effects and sounds as well. I love especially car engine sounds and when you turn off the engine, you can hear even the car cooling down. However, the game feels pretty much blurry like in Mafia 3I just finished the campaign and I really liked how the story was preserved like in the original game. However, the game feels pretty much blurry like in Mafia 3 despite I am running the game at 4K resolution, so I have to use a 3rd party tool for image sharpening to improve the image quality. Overall the game looks much better than the original mafia, BUT it is not as good as the game from 2002. In original game, you had more things to do. You had a tutorial which helped you how to play, in story you had very nice Lucas Bertone missions and after you finished the game, you could play extreme ride. These parts are unfortunately missing in the new remake. The campaign is shortened a little bit and you can finish the game much sooner what is pity. You can even play the game with Czech dubbing which is also amazing!

    There are some details which I miss compared to the old game. For example, you do not have your cars parked behind the Salieri's bar and instead you have stupid and very simple list of cars like in Mafia II for example. I would recommend you to buy this game, it is very nice, but I can give it 7 or 8 points out of 10. I do believe that there will be some updates or DLC's which will improve the game, but old Mafia is still the king. That game deserves easily 10/10!    … Expand

    Buen juego, gran remake con gráficos actuales. Una historia tremenda en una sucesión de misiones en donde, como mucho, tendremos coleccionables de revistas pero nada de misiones secundarias. Variedad de armas y coches (dificiles de controlar), policía bastante sensible a poco que vayas deprisa, a veces me ha parecido un poco tosco en los tiroteos. Lo he jugado en difícil y he muertoBuen juego, gran remake con gráficos actuales.     Eso sí, no volvería a pagar 40€. 20-25€ lo veo un precio más que aceptable para las horas y posibilidades que ofrece. Y bien Hangar 13.

Многие механики оригинальной игры убраны, ездить на поездах и трамваях, например, больше нельзя. Стрельба худшая в серии и даже хуже 3 части, баланс полностью сломан, недоделанный оригинал всё так же    Прекрасные катсцены, хорошая графика, отличная музыка.

    Mafia Definitive Edition is a third person story driven shooter with linear missions. It is situated in a fictional city of Lost Heaven based on real-life Chicago in 1930'.

    This game is a Remake because it is very different from Mafia released in 2002. 4/5 Story is very linear and the missions are diverse. Few, unique and interesting characters. Our character is changing. 3/5    Mafia Definitive Edition is a third person story driven shooter with linear missions.     4/5 Story is very linear and the missions are diverse. Few, unique and interesting characters. Our character is changing.

    3/5 Gameplay has a lot of driving, hiding and killing. Movement is wonky and the camera is rather loose. Cars are fun.

    2/5 Replay value is very low for Story, decent for Free Ride. Game has many collectibles but they don't matter much.

    4/5 Graphics are quite sharp, a living city and rather odd animations. Nice effects, great immersion, a decent optimization.

    5/5 Music offers old-timey songs, great voiceovers and good effects. Radio adds an extra layer of immersion with events.

    Some hits from the original are missing.

    Story is rich and gets pretty interesting at times but takes risky turns unlike in the original, it surprises a classic player like me. It's got various mission objectives, fun driving in cars and a decent cover shooting system. World is big and full of collectibles. The ending conclusion didn't make any sense when comparing the character development and what they did then.    … Expand

    I have really enjoyed it, even though I never played original Mafia. It is not an outstanding game, but for a one-time experience it is worth it.

    Графику первой Мафии не узнать. Да - остались мелочи вроде переворачивания автомобилей от заезда на деревянный заборчик или слепого тыкания лбом в стену дома.

    Как одновременно тяжело и интересно было жить...
    Вердикт - стоит уделить немного времени холодным осенним вечером и вместе с обычным неудачником стать свидетелем жизни и смерти высоких чинов полиции, продажных прокуроров и трусливых священников.
    ДОСТОИНСТВА:
    Отличная лицевая анимация. Катсцены смотрятся как один фильм. Отличная озвучка. Переработанные модели автомобилей, некоторые предметы разрушаются на ура.
    НЕДОСТАТКИ:
    Ужасное управление и поведение любой машины на дороге. Мелкие баги.    … Expand

This an example of how to make a mess having an constructed and perfect ending already done and killing it. So instead of 10 I guess this is a 7.

    Игра неплоха. Я не застал первую часть мафии и в свое время поиграл лишь в прекрасную вторую часть и отвратительную третью. И теперь, получив опыт игры в первую часть, скажу вот что - работа по созданию ремейка действительно хороша, в игре неплохая графика, хардкорное управление автомобилями, интересные миссии, и в целом, я доволен тем, во что поиграл.

    Вместе с тем, не могу отметить и    Игра неплоха. Я не застал первую часть мафии и в свое время поиграл лишь в прекрасную вторую часть и отвратительную третью. И теперь, получив опыт игры в первую часть, скажу вот что - работа по созданию ремейка действительно хороша, в игре неплохая графика, хардкорное управление автомобилями, интересные миссии, и в целом, я доволен тем, во что поиграл.

    Вместе с тем, не могу отметить и существенные недостатки - игровая механика чувствуется очень старой (раз уж перелопачивали все, могли и над ней поработать); город сделан неплохо, пусть он однотипный и маленький, однако - отсутствие возможности поездить по нему в свободном доступе очень расстраивает; персонажи очень поверхностно раскрыты, к ним вроде бы есть сопереживание, а вроде бы и нет; очень скудный арсенал в игре - также, как и с игровой механикой, могли бы и добавить что-нибудь новое.

    At one time, the first part of "Mafia" was a great game that was remembered for a long time.
    Now "Mafia: Definitive Edition" is not that interesting anymore.
    This is a good remake of a once great game.
    But I didn't have much fun playing the Definitive Edition. I didn't feel nostalgia either.
    I don't see much point in such remakes. Better to create something new and high quality.

    Mafia DE je nádherný remake. Zažijete znovu příběh taxikáře Tomáše a to v perfektní grafice, nově vymodelovaném městě Lost Heaven, až mi je líto, jak málo toho nová definitivní edice nabízí. Jeden z Legendárních herních příběhů dokážete sloupnout za několik hodin. Nezastaví vás ani nejtěžší obtížnost a jakmile hru původní znáte, není tady ani žádná nová výzva. Město je nádherné a živé,Mafia DE je nádherný remake. Zažijete znovu příběh taxikáře Tomáše a to v perfektní grafice, nově vymodelovaném městě Lost Heaven, až mi je líto, jak málo toho nová definitivní edice nabízí. Jeden z Legendárních herních příběhů dokážete sloupnout za několik hodin. Nezastaví vás ani nejtěžší obtížnost a jakmile hru původní znáte, není tady ani žádná nová výzva. Město je nádherné a živé, veškerá vozidla vypadají jako opravdová a tváře lidí jsou bezvadné. Spousta věcí ale ve hře chybí a nakonec na mě působí prostě prázdně.
    Rcfrc hlavně aby něco bylo a Hangar 13 si z nás udělal menší ♥♥♥♥♥. Čekám velkou další Mafii a tohle beru jako jejich trénink.    … Expand

    Этот ремейк не будут вспоминать спустя 20 лет, но тем не менее он хорош. Сюжет по-прежнему увлекает, геймплей приятный. Даже нравится размеренно кататься из точки А в точку Б.

Затем очень криво расставлены аптечки, в какой то миссии их 10000, а в какой то вообще блин нет, хотя очень нужны ( например галерея) . Баги с нпс ваще норма, если ты мирного убиваешь, и он, допустим стоял близко к стене, то скорее всего он наполовину войдет в стену... либо нпс просто стоят тупят, крч мрак с нпс в этой игре на самом деле. Еще обещали, что противники будут очень живо реагировать на попадания, так вот херня это все, с томика стреляешь им в грудак, похеру абсолютно, стоят дальше как ни в чем не бывало и палят по вам, то же относится и к конечностям , импакт от попаданий минимален. Мотоцикл , кстати, очень плохо сделан в том плане, что, если ты врезаешься в условный объект на огромной скорости, то ты даже не слетаешь с мотоцикла, продолжаешь как ни в чем не бывало на нем сидеть. Крч много на самом деле проблем в игре, но в целом неплохо , сюжет + атмосфера+ тема итальянской мафии в США вывозят ее.… Expand

    If what you were looking for was a mafia 1 remake that feels like the recent mafia 2 remake, then you’re in for a treat but if you were looking for more you may be disappointed. What it does get right thought is the feel of a 1930’s american city, you will immediately feel the nostalgia growing as you weave in and out of traffic exploring this expansive city. You once again play as tommyIf what you were looking for was a mafia 1 remake that feels like the recent mafia 2 remake, then you’re in for a treat but if you were looking for more you may be disappointed. What it does get right thought is the feel of a 1930’s american city, you will immediately feel the nostalgia growing as you weave in and out of traffic exploring this expansive city. You once again play as tommy angelo in the final years of the prohibition and if you enjoyed the story of the original game, you will without a doubt enjoy the story here but this time with realistic graphics. sound effects are amazing with even smaller details like hearing the engine of your car cool down as turn it off, realistic sounding gun fire and you will get an immediate nostalgia boost from hearing the music come from the radio. the story is phenomenal as always and the comedic timing of some of the characters hits perfectly when it is needed whilst at the same time drawing you into the game’s world.

    onto the negatives. whilst the graphics of this game are impressive at times, especially in cutscenes, you will experience quite a bit of pop in when traveling at high speeds through the city and in grassy terrain. Some character models, whilst they do look amazing in cutscenes with you being able to see every hair follicle, most background NPC characters tend to look potatoey and derpy in gameplay sections looking like an assassins creed 2 remake copyright lawsuit waiting to happen. on the discussion of NPCs, enemy AI can come across as brain dead at times. constantly getting stuck behind walls in their vehicles, running out into the open as you’re opening fire on them or even running right up next to you like they thought they were invincible.

    Even with all of it’s faults, it is still an enjoyable game with a great story and a fun cast of characters. It just needed a few more weeks in the oven to iron out all of these problems before it released    … Expand

    Story really good, but in gameplay is just mission after mission. All side quests from original version are missing and, no using train or tramline either or repairing cars. Original was better in gameplay and in history cause of the side quests.

I never played the original early 2000 game but i've played the mafia 2 and 3 and i must say i play this game mainly to enjoy the story and it shows. Set at 1930's during probihition era, follows a taxi driver then involved at mafia activity. The story is really good because i love gangster movies. But other than stories this game is rather bland, the "free roam" mode doesn't have nothing to do beside roaming the city and finding collectibles. The bugs and glitches in this game is quite bad too. If you like mafia series especially the story, give this game a go and you will enjoy a really good story.… Expand

    No this game is shortened in many ways from the original. I watched the movie scenes, pressed the buttons that said, shot in automatic sight, I had no choice of the shooting location as I wanted and no more, I could not replay in my opinion or move away from the story. In the city walk freeride mode, passed fast missions of cars and ran for UFO. Everything in the city is locked, I was notNo this game is shortened in many ways from the original. But what the heck is this unfinished game released or is it a game in the BETA version and you can wait for an update BUT I don't see any information in general anywhere!??

    La historia, aunque no es excelente, es bastante interesante. Se trata de un remaster, así que es un juego que si te lo pasaste antes no esperes nada más allá de los gráficos mejorados.

    This is a full-fledged, honest to God remake. Some changes to the story will upset hardcore fans, but I think this approach is absolutely justified. Even though this remake is not as amazing as new versions of Resident Evil 2 and Final Fantasy 7, it’s still a worthy update.

    The main difference between the remake and the original game is that the latter was outstanding for its time, while the Definitive Edition is “merely” good. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s not worth your time. What’s crucial here is the fact that Hangar 13 approached the original’s narrative with proper respect and refrained from changing it too much. Mafia: Definitive Edition might not be remarkable as an open-world action game, but it still has the story worthy of the most revered gangster movies. [12/2020, p.28]

    Mafia: Definitive Edition is a remake of mixed flavours. Some elements are just as they used to be, and it's great. Some elements are just as they used to be, and it's awful. Mixture of aged mechanics and amazing graphics, new voices, great old story and some added, yet bad storylines, make it not such a perfect remake. But it sure is worth your time, whether you are a fan of the original or not. The moral of the story survived in all its glory, just be sure to focus your attention to the details where Mafia used to and still shines the most.
