Also, the graphics / sounds is really good. So it the layout of the game.

PS. A bit repetative but still beyond all my expectations.

I gave it a ten to compensate for some of the lower scores it's been given.

5 - Graphics aren't as eye-popping as some next-gen games, but Valve's animation team is better than any of it's competitors, therefore both emotion and character come across crystal clear. A MUST BUY.
6 - Fun for absolutely any one willing to sit down and play it, even beginners.

    Valve wins again.

And I felt the same thing in this game for about the first 15min of play. Then it became retarded. If you stand around pop zombies heads off with a rifle 1 by 1 or throw a pipe bomb and have them all run to it like a shiny red ball you will never get rid of them all. Somehow there is always more coming like a respawn wave. Witch at first seems scary because you don't know when the next wave will come but then becomes stupid because you can't hold any ground. In any movie I have ever seen on zombies they can always hold their ground and there are always just a finite number of zombies. There is a LOT of them but not infinite. If they would have made it like the movie I am Legend where you tag 1 or 2 here and there then there is a huge random group it would have been great. Or say you start out in a city 4 of you and 178,567 of them and there is a city population counter going at all times I could have lived with that. But the way its setup now is just cheap. No rime or reason just zombie waves coming at you every 5min like clock work. Some triggers them like a car alarm or throwing a pipe bomb but mostly it's just retarded. Say it wasn't so linear and I could collect items and throw them like we used to in the first counterstrike games then when you have a good number of ammo and bombs you go up on a roof top in a building that you have CLEARED maybe 1 or 2 still hang around that you missed but its god damn cleared and set off that car alarm from the roof by firing at the car and see 5,000 zombies collect around it all confused on why there are no brains to eat then you start chucking bombs and empting shells on them and watch that population counter drop like a rock. And be able to get in that car like Carmagedon and roll over zombies till your car is trashed from all the zombies punching it or you get in a group that's way too big and they tare the car apart with you in it like say towards the end of Resident Evil Extinction or on the docks in I am Legend.
I don't know maybe im asking too much of my zombie games :(

This is a great multiplayer game, especially if everyone has a mic. It needs more content such as maps, weapons, and special infected types. While the gameplay is very fun, it gets repetitive as there are only a few ways things can go even though placement of items and monsters is random.

Left 4 Dead has the potential to be an 8/10 or even 9/10, but in its current state as of 12-01-2008 - it has been handicapped by a less-than-finished feel & numerous bugs. With the additions of these updates (and with the history Valve has with their past titles) it is likely that this game will live up to the 8/9 or even 9/10 score as stated above and by numerous users & reviewers.

    The Flaws:
    ----------------

    A)
The most noticeable issue for first-time users of the versus mode is simply the lack of content. While there are 4 'Movies' in the Cooperative/Single-Player campaigns - in versus, there are only 2; one of them being the least spectacular of the four (Blood Harvest), the other being that which was previewed in the Demo (No Mercy). While both are entertaining initially - they sometimes become tiring and leave you begging for the other two. Hopefully the addition of the original remaining two ('Death Toll' & 'Dead Air') will be released early 2009

My review is going to be parallel with a reply to Steele X's terribly uninformed review. Not only does the man underrates the game much more drastically than others overrate it, he seems to base his review of a superficial experience.

My review is going to be parallel with a reply to Steele X's terribly uninformed review. Not only does the man underrates the game much more drastically than others overrate it, he seems to base his review of a superficial experience.

First of all, your team-mates can be idiots, who run off only to get slaughtered, don't help you when you're in trouble, and keep shooting you in the back. But Left 4 Dead isn't meant to be played with random people. If you think you can successfully cooperate with a stranger from the Internet, you must be new to this whole online thing. Unless you have friends and/or are willing to make new ones, this game isn't for you.

Secondly, the game randomises everything. Perhaps not to the extent of Diablo, but enough to vary each playthrough. Only stashes of ammunition are found in the same places; the location of everything else can only be guessed.

Thirdly, if you are bored playing Left 4 Dead, you might want to stop playing on Easy or Normal. The game should be played at least on Advanced, though you'll have the most fun on Expert. It'll take you half of a day to finish just one campaign full of unimaginably intense battles.

Then there's Versus, where you get to play as one of the special Infected and slaughter the Survivors, ruining their attempt to escape. After all, that's what the game is about - surviving, and shooting zombies while you're at it. When playing with your buddies on Expert, you certainly won't see anyone going out of their way for some frags.

This game is what you make it to be.

I would have given this game a 9 due to lack of content (would far exceed a 10 if only there were some more campaigns) but since some idiot that plays on easy and still doesn't know how to play with others gave it a 0, I had to try to give it a more accurate score. There is NO zombie game, mod or level that can compare to L4D. The best game of 2008

Valve did a great job at researching and replicating zombie hunting. They've included some new features to the game as simple as automatic crouching when you come to a low spot, it's the little touches that make it stand out, I feel. Plus the new shadow and shading effects are cool too, esp. for a multiplayer game.

All in all the game was fun but in the long term (meaning past 3 hours of play time) one can only hope that a flood of custom maps and content come out although since HL2 I have noticed not many mods make it out of the gate to the public. I do not regret buying the game but It would be nice if the game was priced properly with its play time.

Whats also cool are Zombie Bosses. There really annoying in Campaign Expert, including Tank, but multiplayer or Versus makes it addicting to use these guys. Now The only thing I don't like is some glitches and there's only two maps on Versus Mode. This game should get a better rating if Valve does their best to upgrade different activities. What would be nice if there were servers that has 24 slots or more. Something that resembles the Counter-Strike Source Zombie Mod or Zombie Panic Source. First off, you call the game bad because of your teammates being idiots. Apparently this is somehow Valves fault? Sorry, but that's moronic, and frankly, makes it sound like you've never played an online multiplayer game before. I've put in at least 30 hours to L4D by now, and I believe there was ONE game where nobody was talking or typing. Basically, if you join a game where you don't like your team? Try leaving a joining a different one. It's not rocket science.

As for your claim that the humans are hunting the zombies. In each 'movie' the humans are trying to get to a particular place. Guess what, they happen to run into zombies along the way. And I haven't ever seen anybody actually go looking for zombies, it doesn't make any sense. It also sounds like you've only been playing on normal, which I agree is too easy. Try Advanced or Expert, you will be scared every time you heard the horde music, or the snarl of a hunter, or the bellow of a tank.

Your last point is the most ludicrous. Apparently you don't know anything about the biggest AI innovation in this game, the Director. The whole point of this game is that you DON'T know where the monsters are coming from each time you play through a campaign. Why? Because the director places zombies, and throws hordes and special infected at depending on how well you're fighting, ammunition levels, health levels, how many times you've been downed, etc. This also effects the placement of pain pills and medkits.

Your entire review was based on flawed information and I wouldn't be surprised if you wrote your review after a single playthrough of one campaign.

The single player is excellent, but to make it more effective you have to have more campaigns than what was initially released. Co-op gameplay is where it is at. You have to understand that if you go into a random server with random people in ANY game you will be left out to dry at least half the time. This game requires a lot of teamwork when you're playing on expert (in versus and co-op campaign). If you can't work in a team, single player will give you some satisfaction, but don't expect the world out of the game because after all it is centered around Co-op play and other human (and zombie) interaction. Steele X claimed that zombies respawn in the same areas and med packs are located in the same place every time you play a level. This is a false statement. The AI director that was incorporated into the game changes the style of gameplay by spawning zombies and items in random areas. This even includes boss zombies. You won't know when you'll encounter a tank, and you won't even know if you're going to encounter it at all. Valve does an excellent job in implementing the AI Director into L4D. To give a game less merit than it deserves because your teammates were assholes is a bad reason to give it a "6-7." If you had any friends at all, you wouldn't play with random people across servers anyways. The gameplay is interactive and contains awesome scenarios. You'll go through airports, hospital buildings, sewers, and urban areas to get rescued. There is a versus mode where you can play as boss infected. In my opinion, it is so much fun. It's fun to play as boomers, hunters, or tanks as you incapacitate helpless survivors. When you play as survivors in versus mode, you're more alert and the need to help your friends become more important in order to win. Game of the Year? Not quite, but it's very close.
Well, no one makes a decision to buy a game after reading metacritic user reviews/ratings anyways.

I'm not saying that L4D is the best FPS out there, and I don't think it was meant to break the industry, so I'm not going to pretend like it has to be perfect. This is much better than what CS and CS:S offered... those games were as repetitive as FPSs dared to be. Yes, the story is non-existant, but the point wasn't in the story, the point of the entire game was to get shooting and blow the crap out of zombies. However, the real jewel in this game is the fact that players are forced to work together to make it through each "movie", and this objective is fully realized in the brilliant mechanics of the game. In any case, if you're looking for a gripping story... go play fallout 1 and 2 or half-life or baldur's gate. Voting the worst number is just silly if you think it's worth more; you aren't supposed to decide what number it gets, the page calculates it from the OPINIONS of other people. They're all opinions, not facts, therefore voting 0 even if you think it's 6-7 is just childish. Been a good game, maybe a bit too short but still extremely fun to play with a 4 player co-op.

It's a great game! Graphics shaders and nice sound effects! Nice gameplay better AI and of course a valve based multiplayer. the only thing is that on single player... only if you don't have internet... there are only 4 levels with 6 chapters each... every level is done in a hour... that's all i have to say.

This game is best played on Expert with 3 other friends and a microphone, there is no better co-operative experience.

Avoid anything below advanced and public games, then you'll have a great time. Already hit 30hours but a few extra weapons and maps would be good. Heres hoping for some patches.

This is one of the best zombie shooters out there. Though it could use more weapons. Every level is huge, just when you think you reached a final point, nope, not the final point! L4D is excellent. I give it a 10 out of 10 because never have I enjoyed Co-op so much in any game. The arguments "Its the same every time blah blah." Pretty much are instantly void and it becomes obvious that person has either never played the game, or played it on easy with 3 computers. Zombies will constantly funnel in on you from different locations, and should you try away for even SECONDS, your chances of dying increase dramatically. In expert if a hunter leaps on you, you have about 5 seconds before you're incapped. Then about 11 before you are completely dead.

Completing a campaign on expert is no simple chore, you aren't lol-powerful killing everything in site. Hearing a special zombie alerts your entire team to be even more cautious. Then again, if you're too cautious you'll get caught up in extra hordes and boomer surprises. The game is much deeper then it seems, and it takes at least, a slightly intellectual person to understand all taht is involved.

Clearly this game is not a 0, even subjectively, not even the failure 6. The production quality of the game is very strong and highly polished. The gameplay is attractive, fun, and addicting. I do find that this game doesn't pull me with such an extreme obsession that some other games have, but I still feel compelled to play this game and can see myself playing this game for years to come despite that lack of a crippling addictive feel. Wait, I guess that's a good thing.
Seeing as 10 is the best score, this game does deserve such a score because it is not the best game ever made. Sure, it's a subjective answer, but that's the entire point of attempting to be objective in your review.
Another critique of reviewers and user reviewers: take the game for what it stands, and avoid using hyperbole and sweeping generalizations to avoid looking like a complete dolt. "Nobody types, nobody uses microphones, and everybody [presses the "laugh" button to frequently]", ... come on! In the 30 hours I've put in since this game's release, I've probably played three very brief matches in which no microphone was used, or I did not notice. Do not judge a game because you played all of one match and thought to yourself, "this is ****!" Also, I'm sickened by "expectations". I've had friends "expecting" a deep and compelling story ala Half Life 2. That's fine, but just because you misread the back of the box, don't spew what disappointed you just because of your lack of reading comprehension. Staggering to say the least.

This game is a solid 9 on a score of 10. Fast paced and challenging fun, and I'm not afraid to admit that I have yet to beat a single campaign on expert. I was honestly shocked by the level of tactics really required to play this game, personally expecting just good ol' zombie killin' much like what my friends and I used to do back with the Counter-Strike bots going knives only. The AI director does a damn good job keeping me properly on my toes, and Valve's use of their home-grown tool to keep pacing at a fun level is proficiently exception to say the least. This game will set itself as a hallmark over the years as to what to aspire to in creating online multilayer games.
Enjoy your time playing it, and death to morons globally. Thanks.

But the game worked differently than what I thought it would be. Before I even finished loading my map my teammates already ran away from the starting point, leaving only myself at the starting point. Even when I join them nobody seem to be cooperating at all. Nobody types, nobody uses the microphone, and everybody just press the voice message, "laugh". Unlike all of the other zombie shooting games, where the humans are suppose to be the weak ones, trying to hide from the zombies, in here, everybody tries to find and kill zombies wherever they can. It makes me wonder sometimes, are the zombies hunting us or are we hunting the zombies? The missions are extremely linear, by the first time I finished the first mission I already got bored. Because the second time I play it it's the exact same thing over again. We all know which monster is going to pop out from where and where are the medic packs are located. But of course the game is not at all a failure, it has many interesting features, like having temporary health which will decrease over time, being pinned down, the ability to heal other people, and the automatic voice commands. Though, after the first time through, even the zombie level in CoD:WaW feels a lot more fun and exciting, despite the fact that we all know we'll die in the end. Expand

While many games include multiplayer team combat, this game stresses teamwork and tactics beyond beyond what games like TF2 and CS:S are able to deliver on a consistent basis. The four player team creates a dynamic where cooperation is an absolute necessity for success, especially so on the harder difficulties. Gameplay revolves between periods of relative calm and times of extreme duress. The most fitting word to describe the latter is intense! No matter the skill of you and your comrades, there will be moments when the survival of your group is far from a certainty, especially given the random nature of the director. The intensity of the game tends to only increase as the level progresses, as wounded survivors are often met with an uncomfortable lack of medkits when they are most needed. The sound and graphics are thoroughly polished, and despite the age of the source engine its upgrades ensure that the game looks great and has plenty of eye candy. Once again, Valve's trademark attention to detail has made for a vibrant and immersing atmosphere. The ability to blow holes in or destroy doors is a fun new addition that also significantly alters the gameplay mechanic. While the story is underdeveloped, in game chatter between the characters reveals a great deal about their personalities, and makes them seem very real. There are some drawbacks, however. The game is relatively short, especially if played on the lower difficulties, and the weapon selection is somewhat minimal. These should not be a major issue, the game is meant to be played on expert in order to prepare a player for the even more difficult versus mode (which is an absolute blast), and the guns that are present are finely crafted and simply feel right. The replayability of this game is excellent, and is only compounded by the director and versus mode. As is, this game is very exciting and will keep many players hooked for an indefinite amount of hours. Given Valve's devotion to updates and the enthusiastic mod community, I only expect this game to improve as time goes on. I give this game a 9.3 out of 10. Expand

The zombie animations are fantastic also, with physics based animation that makes clothing and hair behave believably. See them hop over turnstyles, lean into their turns when running, and climb drainpipes and roofs with gripping realism.
If you like horror, and have friends to play coop with you, this game is a must. I haven't had this much fun in a co-op game in years! Nothing like hearing your friend hollar "Here they come!" over voice to be soon followed by a rush of a hundred-head zombie horde. I agree that this game should have had more content at launch, but if TF2 is any indication, map packs should be close behind.

This game is beyond fantastic. First off, I have to say it's great to have a proper co-op for the PC, something that's rare for this system platform. The AI director is a clever invention: not only does it make each run different than the last, but also for anyone who wants to expand the game, all they have to do is make a map and the director would handle the rest. One of my favorite pieces is the seamless shifts during mulitplayer between the computer and human players as people join, leave, or idle within the game. It allows you to not only join in on an open game at any time during its run, but also to leave a game whenever you choose without ruining it for your teammates. Overall, Left 4 Dead's got all the attention to detail, solid gameplay, and originality that has made Valve games a personal favorite for me. Even a friend of mine who rarely plays any games has become pretty addicted to it. Expand

The game has everything you need, the characters, the zombie types, even the cheesy script and music are present.
Gameplay is fast and fun and set in a variety of locations. There are fantastic finales to each campaign and each one can take you hours to get through. Anyone who says that the game is too short is obviously playing on easy mode... Try expert guys.
The weapons in the game are good although diversity throughout the different campaigns would have been nice. There just aren't enough weapons here and technically two of the stronger guns are just upgrades of the shotgun and uzi.
Graphically the game is strong, especially when you have hordes of 30+ zombies charging at you. The steam engine has really been taken to the next level with L4D.

Although L4D has alot of replay value there definetally isn't enough content. As i've said before there aren't enough weapons (You'll have encountered every one by your second level of play) but there also aren't enough characters. Having just 4 people to a game creates a nice balance and keeps the scenarios tense, but this atmosphere is broken slightly when your character dies and the exact same one is rescued from a side room minutes later. More boss zombies would also have been nice that could have been interchanged at each boss fight, hence allowing the director greater control of what was spawned. At the moment you always know which levels a tank is going to appear in. More boss zombies would keep the players on their toes. The number of user interactions are fairly small aswell. You can't share ammo or all of your equiptment with other players or give them guns. More interaction would have been very nice...

Overall L4D earns a 7 from me. It's an excellent game but perhaps not good enough to empty the servers of css. Hopefully the modding community will show some great new media for the game in the near future.

The plot? Well, if you are a fan of zombie anything, then the story is quite simple, no matter how many variables you throw in - STAY ALIVE. Any plot meandering from this basic survivalism would detract from the madness that ensues just trying to fight your way through swarms of the infected. I ESPECIALLY love how just playing the game makes me feel like I'm watching the coolest zombie movie EVER!
Average arcade shooter?? Valve's AI v.2 (from Turtle Rock) and their killer Source Engine make this anything BUT average. Graphically speaking, the dynamic lighting and creepy environment create the spookiest gameply atmosphere I have encountered in a long time!
"There are a lot more better zombie shooters out there..." LOL for grammar, but besides this, WHAT other zombie shooters? Scorpion? Laughable and contrived. HL2 zombie pack? Lame. Thief? Not ENOUGH zombies (and slow). Land of the Dead? HORRIBLE, HOR-RI-BLE reviews. None come close to this masterpiece from Valve.
    I give it a 10, without hesitation. :D

The attention to detail makes the experience feel authentic, as if you are in an actual horror film. The characters, the setting, the music, all play key in helping this game play smooth and great. Making sure that no senario is played the same twice, Valve incorporated what is called an A.I. Director, upon which determines the outcome of certain elements in the game such as displacement of weapons, health, zombie hordes, etc. You get a different experience every time you play and believe me, you will want to play this again and again. There isn't a whole lot of content off the bat, but knowing Valve, it's coming soon, and it will add that much more to the game's already amazing gameplay. With it being on the PC, it's also open to the community to contribute, such as a Dawn of the Dead Mall recreation being produced. Along side the campaign, which you can play in your solidarity, or with three others, there is the multiplayer which adds to the fun with the ability to play the infected. Coordinating with your team is crucial, raising the stakes for both the infected and the survivors. This is an intense thrill ride and should not be skipped. In terms of getting a good thrill, this game will deliver and then some more. The length of the game though may leave you slightly unhappy. After 10 hours I had all of the campaigns done along with about 50% of the achievements which is kind of quick for something supposedly bigger.

Overall my rating is based on great graphic and good action, fall short from higher score on the basis the game is too short. In terms of quality for your money, I would have to say Team Fortress 2 is 50% less expensive and whole lot more content.
This is still a great purchase and every bit will be worth it. Only time will tell whether or not Valve will add other chapters and different way of playing.

The scenes can get somewhat repetitive (the reason behind the "9" score), but with the action occurring at different places, forcing you to utilize different parts of the territory as your "last stands", the game stays fresh. Adding in the experience of new teammates every time you play gives you a new challenge, getting along and surviving with what you've got, not what you want.

Some people are reviewing the game here with only seeing the demo (see John S.'s "0" rating). These ratings/posts should be removed as they are not accurate (neither is their spelling).

The only problems I have with the game is that there are only 4 scenarios at launch (which will hopefully be remedied with an expansion or add-ons--please let them be free), and no true melee weapons. I can understand the cause for not having the melee weapons (continuous swinging would negate the need for "ammo" by killing the zombies all by itself--unlike the butt-stroke to push zombies back the way it is now).

Recommended highly for anyone who is a fan of suspense and/or zombie movies.

Physics works well, but there are some minor clipping issues involving your teammates. When backing away from a horde of zombies eager to rape my face, I do NOT want to clip through Bill and end up shooting him instead of a snarling monstrosity. The AI Director works pretty well from what I've seen, making combat varied and intense. The game has this whole on-your-toes feel, with you simultaneously wanting light and yet fearing drawing the attention of the horde. I get a really antsy feeling when turning around corners and maneuvering in tight spaces, and I really don't want to touch anything in case it makes noise. The car alarm bits are quite clever in my opinion. Overall the game is challenging without completely kicking my ass. There are wide enough gaps between safe rooms and scattered ammo and health to make getting to the next deposit difficult but not impossible. Conserving your ammo plays a big role, what with the zombies outnumbering you and the worlds bullet supply 100:1. I tried to avoid confrontation as much as possible, choosing to take out zombies with the hunting rifle from a distance. Plus, VALVe have made something into a game which is generally hard to put into a game. Teamwork. If you go off alone with a shotgun, chances are that a Hunter will punce on you and you will get zombiefied. And if you stay together and use teamwork, you will have a much larger chance of surviving. Expand

I've been playing this game since when it was released until now. IMO, it's a fun game and is insanely challenging. After 4 days of playing, I was able to beat one of the four campaigns on expert. There're also achievements to make the game more fun, maybe unlocking them will release something like valve did with TF2. Although the survival horror + zombies thing has been done to death, Valve still manages to make L4D interesting and fun. The Director system insures that each time you play through a level, it will be a different experience. It loses one point, however, because in order to fully enjoy the game, you've gotta play with 3 other people. This is the kind of game you will call in sick to work for. Addictive as crack. Well balanced. On the advanced level, it's really tough to get through, which is great. And you can't learn from your mistakes, if the survivors die, they start over and the map is randomized with new weapon drops, zombie spawns, choke points. I don't think people understand how amazing this is. Expand

The game is simply amazing, i love everything about it. But if i had to complain about one thing, it would be that so far this game isn't modifiable. You can't skin it yet or make maps for it. At least we havn't figured out how to do it yet. The game levels are awesome, creative and even though there's been other zombie games out there, i think this one is unique. The AI Director is truly an amazing feat and always gives you something different. The weapon system is great and i love how the pistol is unlimited. Great game, i'd definitely recommend it, especially if you liked the Zombie Panic! mod for cs:s. So apart from the modding great job Valve! Expand

The Versus mode in my opinion is the best choice for veteran gamers that seek a good intense fight against 4 Infected Bosses ( controlled by players ) and the Witch ( can't be controlled by player ). The music inside the game as the effects are just awesome, graphics are good and the game isn't so "heavy" in requirements. At all I wanted to say this: The gameplay is re-playable and make you get a lot of fun, Versus Mode is intense and the game in all is well made. Expand

great game . but it's just for multiplayer though. not a big deal for me but maybe for others. it's just that i always have some type of story to tell friends about this game .

example: "man last night we took on a tank and than got vomitted on by a boomer and had to fight an entire horde and still we made it on expert"
that sort of stuff i meant :)

Great game, however this is not a game for all. Most Steam games are geared towards a certain type of players. If you liked the past steam games before than you'll love this one. If you didn't, then... you might or might not like it. I'm not worried about the content, Valve always seems to add new content periodically. Just wait and enjoy.

Music is dynamic and unscripted, and has subtle cues which make you keep it on.
Zombies and weapons/perks spawn dynamically, which means you dont memorize maps and spawn points and get bored, you constantly are on your toes.
Playing is epic. You feel like you're in a movie where the ending could and very often is your demise. 10/10. Playing FPS/RPG/RTS/MMORPG games for ten+

A great game! Even with the initial 4 campaigns and small supply of weapons, this game is endlessly entertaining! I played the same 2 levels in the demo for a total of 24 hours and never got bored. I HIGHLY recommend this game, it is a must buy, especially for the zombie movie/gamer lover enthusiast, like myself. This game is literally like being in 28 days later.

Oh dear what has Valve done here? Even though this review is based on the demo it is pretty obvious to see that what you see is what you get, except of course the full version of the game will have more levels(but thats nothing special). As a huge fan of the Half-Life saga and an obessive online player of TF2, Valve have always impressed me with a great range of well developed games. Then Oh dear what has Valve done here? As a huge fan of the Half-Life saga and an obessive online player of TF2, Valve have always impressed me with a great range of well developed games. Then along came L4D and what a dissapointment this turned out to be, this is far from Valve's epic work and have produced something that has been done before by other devs(in terms of zombie survival horror). This zombie shooter is not original in any way, boring beyond belief killing zombie, after zombie after zombie, very repetative, no story to keep you gripped it is just an average "arcade" shooter. There are a lot more better zombie shooters out there, with more original ideas, a plot and better action. I respect Valve for what they have attempted here but dispite being a fan of their work I am going to have to turn away from this horrible game. I will just sit tightly now and wait for HL2:Episode 3 at least that will be something good to look forward to :) P.S. This game is overated I've decided and Valve could have done a better job. There's absolutely no doubt that Left 4 Dead is one of the most social and exciting multiplayer games that we've ever played. It's almost pitch perfect in how it captures the tension and the action of a Hollywood zombie movie.

The inventive and highly entertaining competitive multiplayer mode just adds to the experience, and we're looking forward to seeing what Valve's got planned for the game's future. Out of all the titles that have shaped the Year of Living Cooperatively, this may be the best experience of them all.

One of the finest zombie games ever made, and one of the finest co-op games ever made. The potential for everything to go so, so wrong without warning, or conversely to pull off the most spectacular escapes against all odds, means this is an online shooter you can tell your finest anecdotes about without boring everyone else to tears.
