Layers of Fear 2 es un juego mejor que su predecesor tanto en narración como en mecánica de terror, añade los gráficos por encima de la media y la gran actuación de voz y tienes un muy buen juego.

I really liked Layers of Fear 2, it's not typical "jumpscares" horror and this is why some people bash it.

Excellent work. Layers of Fear 2 is an improvement over the original is pretty much every way: It's longer, has a stronger story with a well-crafted slow-burn and looks better than ever.

It's a damn good game and far better than the first one. A bit slow and many times you will be confused on what's going on, but the atmosphere is bliss for horror.

Layers of Fear 2 is not for everyone. I'm not surprised this game is getting so many mixed and negative reviews.

However, if you like slow burn, artistic horror, you will enjoy this game. I mean, it's beautiful. The visuals, art direction, music, story, etc. Tons of references to old movies, which is very cool. Incredible atmosphere and constantly changing environments. There is a depth

However, if you like slow burn, artistic horror, you will enjoy this game. I mean, it's beautiful. The visuals, art direction, music, story, etc. Tons of references to old movies, which is very cool. Incredible atmosphere and constantly changing environments. There is a depth here that goes way beyond "jump-scare" games, and I appreciate that.

The game has a lot of detail and meaning behind each set-piece, which doesn't always make sense the first time through. Getting to the end and putting the pieces together just becomes that much sweeter. Pay attention, listen to dialogue, and look for these details, and you will be rewarded.

Unfortunately the game has flaws. Act 2 is rather boring. The chase sequences involving the formless monster are tedious and predictable instead of suspenseful. The story is pretty hard to get a grasp on through the first play, although that isn't necessarily bad for some (myself included).

If you like atmosphere and psychological horror, with a lot of homage to classic movies, you will like this game. If you want constant jump-scares or don't like walking-sims, stay away.

I've played this game 2 times and I am now on my 3rd playthrough, and FOR ME Layers of Fear 2 is a masterpiece just like the first one was.

Layers of Fear is a very personal experience, so the best advice I can give is that you don't take in account the opinion of others. It is a game that you need to experience for yourself. Also, this is not a game for everyone. To fully enjoy you
I've played this game 2 times and I am now on my 3rd playthrough, and FOR ME Layers of Fear 2 is a masterpiece just like the first one was.

Layers of Fear is a very personal experience, so the best advice I can give is that you don't take in account the opinion of others. It is a game that you need to experience for yourself.

Also, this is not a game for everyone. To fully enjoy you need to have in mind that this is a game very different than any other game out there.
To enjoy it you need to have patience, to pay attention to every detail, to take your time, and to play it more than once.

Just as the name says, the experience is made by more than one layer, and the more times you play it more you discover and it makes more sense.

The first time I finished this game I felt a bit disappointed. That's because this time Bloober was more ambitious and experimented a major variety of ambiences and a even more abstract aproach to the storytelling. But then I just took some time to think about the game and writed down some ideas about what I saw in it. I created some theories. And this was the part when the fun began.

I felt like the game was finally taking form in my mind.
Then I started to play a second time and every detail was making way more sense this time. That was the point when I felt that this really was something that came out from Bloober Team's minds.

Now I am loving the game just as I loved the first one.

I already started my 3rd playthrough as I said before, and I am really enjoying the game a lot more than when I played it for the first time.

    So my advice is:

    - This is not a game for everyone.
    - This is not totally equal to the first one, so take your time to put the pieces of the story together and play more than once.
    - Don't be so hard on trying to figure out everything on the story. There's no right or wrong version. That's the beauty of it. The truth is what you believe it is and what makes more sense to YOU.

    Thank you for reading.

Maybe somewhat surprisingly it's a great game. Much unlike LoF 1 it appears rather obviously like a walking simulator without many choices, but atmosphere is great, plot is great, you could just object the many anachronisms and steampunk-failing details. It's cool, it's great, it's fun, and it's horror. Only a very small piece to perfection is missing.

A definite psychological horror masterpiece. A lot better than the first game, and the thrill doesn't come from cheap jumpscares mostly. The atmosphere is perfect.

The painter had been replaced by an actor, and old mansion morphed into a ship – but the gameplay and scare tactics have changed very little. [Issue#239, p.64]

The story in Layers of Fear 2 is decent, even if you can see the narrative twist coming, but you need to sit down and analyze the pieces for it to really come together. The same tricks used in the original to distort the environment still work here, as do the jump-scares despite their predictability over time. The longer playtime robs the title of the crispness of its predecessor, while the element of an active pursuer doesn't mix well with the game's need for more involved door and switch mechanics and the precision needed to activate those action spots. It's still worth checking out for fans — but sometime later, as opposed to immediately.

Coming from someone who adored the first Layers of Fear, I was ready to love this sequel. Instead, I was disappointed by the dearth of creativity, an overreliance on ineffective audiologs and documents, and multiple insta-kill chases that frustrated me until the end. I used to considered Bloober Team to be the best up-and-coming horror developer around, but either the horror genre is evolving beyond them, or the last three too-busy years have burnt them out.
