Jul 11, 2019Coming from someone who adored the first Layers of Fear, I was ready to love this sequel. Instead, I was disappointed by the dearth of creativity, an overreliance on ineffective audiologs and documents, and multiple insta-kill chases that frustrated me until the end. I used to considered Bloober Team to be the best up-and-coming horror developer around, but either the horror genre is evolving beyond them, or the last three too-busy years have burnt them out.

Jul 8, 2019Similarly to its predecessor, a striking presentation is not enough for Layers of Fear 2 to overcome a jumbled menagerie of cliches, jump scares, and overwrought writing.

May 28, 2019A slick psychological horror plagued by poor pacing and infuriating instakills
-
May 24, 2019It’s too fixated on traditional jump scares to embrace the twisted, palpitating gut of its story about a flawed protagonist and his struggles with inner demons.

Jun 14, 2019I really want the Layers of Fear series to be good, but Layers of Fear 2 pretty much wallows in the same mediocrity its predecessor barely kept its head above...Though they've added tangible threats and a little more variety of gameplay, this sequel feels more like a retread through a bargain basement, severely outdated horror structure. The genre needs a shakeup, and this ain't it.

May 28, 2019Pathetic, crappy and boring walking sim. One of the worst gaming experience. Waste of money.

May 28, 2019Great and unforgettable experience. LOF 2 is even better than LOF! BT knows how to make scary games! Must have for any horror fan!
