Oct 3, 2024Chock full of interesting elements, as well as beautiful gameplay, Kvark knows how to involve and take the player into a Half Life revisited in a nuclear apocalypse key. You kill which is wonderful, you spend your time dancing on the corpses of enemies and there is a not bad dose of gratuitous violence. It is what could lead someone to buy it, in fact, to make it their own. And I would recommend it to those who need to see some blood spilled on the ground. I needed it and, of course, I came out as the leader of the pack.

Oct 15, 2024Kvark is a hidden gem of a classic shooter that you should not miss. It is simple but hard to progress which has given the game a unique taste and separates it from just another clone of Half-Life. However, it won’t be a memorable game that you will talk about for the rest of your life.

Oct 23, 2024Kvark is really its own beast, embracing the boomer shooter spirit without getting bogged down in the past. If you’re up for some chaotic fun, this game delivers in spades. After all the gunfire and mayhem, maybe take a moment to chat with the locals, they might have some wild stories about their world that go beyond the game.

While it loses some momentum in the second of its three acts, it regains its stride by the end, especially when transitioning from claustrophobic underground complexes to surface locations. Unfortunately, it doesn't fully capitalize on its period setting and its attempts at humor fall flat.

Jul 28, 2025Disappointing is the word that perfectly describes Kvark, the very enjoyable Soviet-flavoured FPS that’s like the less charismatic offspring of Half-Life and Hrot. Sadly, it has numerous problems, and while some, like its linear structure and repetitive gameplay, are easy to accept due to its deeply atmospheric world and enjoyable combat and exploration, there’s an irritating lack of polish, making it a hard recommendation to anyone but those few passionate indie game aficionados that can appreciate a hidden gem even if it happens to be placed inside a rusted, stinky, cracked box. Again, disappointing.
