Becomes pretty boring pretty fast. Dying within the game is such a big set back that I didn't want to play after I died, it would be not worth the time.

    - if peasants are not stupid and run in incoming ghosts outside wall
    - if generated world has some logic. very often you have to restart level, because its impossible to win game
    - if you have counter for each profession
    - if new minions are moving faster to your base and not moving like snails
    - mission hints to understand what are doing some unique buildings in higher levels

First levels are how it should be. Easy relaxing game, where you have to expand correct way to win. Upper levels are only frustrating nightmares, where terrible concept issues ruin gameplay. It make no sence to play it again, until game is not fixed.

Ah Kingdom: New Lands! This is a game I royally glanced at E3 2016 over a small crowd of gamers in the Indiecade section but didn’t start playing until the title was included in a Humble Bundle monthly. Moment of truth: I should have gotten this game WAY sooner! Kingdom: New Lands is a sequel to ”Kingdom” Noio & Licorice’s first iteration in the series, and of course the creator Thomas Van Den. There is a third game in the works: Kingdom: Two Crowns for PC and the Nintendo Switch which should be released late in 2017 which will include Co-Op.

Kingdom: A New Lands is a side-scrolling, tower defense game in 8-bit art style where you take on the role as sovereign: a randomly selected King or Queen (and random skin tone & crest are selected) are to help followers rise out of poverty and in return, help you build, defend, hunt, and eventually escape The Greed of the land. The developer encourages self-learning in lieu of a massive amount of tutorials. Even with almost 20 hours in, I’m still unsure how certain features work yet somehow I find ways to continue to the next level.

    Good and bad?
A New Land is one of those games you can easily pick up, stop playing, and come back to later without forgetting mechanic basics. There isn’t much of a story to remember when you left off, nor is there tons of involved progression which makes it a perfect port to mobile (which they’ve already done). Instead of like most building games, structures can only be placed on resources you find in the procedurally generated 2-d landscape, which is a relief for someone like me who would be super OCD about structure placement.

The minimalist 8-bit art style focuses on the things you need to see in order to recognize what something is, without going too much into detail. The feeling I get from Kingdom: New Lands is the opposite of what I see in a newer Final Fantasy Game, or any other kind of JRPG. Clutter free is for me. The only UI shown is relevant: for your coin purse when you’re using currency, pushing pause, or when you win/lose the level. (and of course, achievements!)

While I do recommend the game in all it’s Kindomyness, it has some flaws. The game is mostly bug free, but I have encountered one bug consistently: Once an order has been placed with a coin (Like telling workers to chop down a tree) that order can go ignored by all workers, until you save, quit, and reload your save. Some inconveniences are that while you’re playing on a controller, it’s very easy to accidently push down on a D-Pad or Joystick while moving left or right. You’ll find that you’ve dropped a coin, or given out an order you didn’t remember giving. There is also the fact you cannot cancel orders. If there is a far-away task, you’ll waste your workers until that task is complete. This may be intended.

Seemingly simplistic, Kingdom: New Lands achieves an impressive depth by using its limited components with extreme agility and thought. Surprisingly well designed and superbly balanced, this visually one-dimensional game is a joy to play.

And if you have a controller – you can play Kingdom with just one hand!

    HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Both in "Kingdom: Classic" and "Kingdom: New Lands": loved the graphics, soundtrack and unique simplicity of its game mechanics. Easy and fun to play, but gives you so many hours of entertainment.

Kingdom: New Lands is an great game which flew under the radar of a load of gamers. This builds up much on the older game and it's now a really good game made by 2 indie developers. In kingdom don't expect the game to hold your hand for too long it's easy to learn hard to master type of game. The game's biggest pros are great pixel art world with a lot of details and a very good soundtrack, mechanics on the other hand are simple too simple for me but you still need a strategy to live long. I found that playing this game really relaxed me and it is a good title to all gamers from casual to hardcore and in between. I recommend this game to anyone who loves indie games or games like Journey it might not be the same but it gave me relaxation and enjoyment i felt when i was playing journey with it's pretty pixel art. For the price i would say that i payed a few dollars more then i wanted but that is nitpicking it really is a good game and gives you great experience. Summary:
Pros: Pixel art style, Soundtrack, Relaxing experience
Cons: Simple controls and anything else would be nitpicking

Mobil oyun olarak iyi olabilir ama beklemekten ibaret olan bir oyunu, arka sekmeye aldığımda bile duruyorsa, yapacak bir şey yok.

    * Pleasant by the sound and movement of the mechanics of inserting coins
    * Thanks to the water on the foreground, volume and perspective work perfectly. Also this effect is enhanced by clouds and in principle the sky * Very atmospheric and pleasant music * Everything in the game moves done very smoothly comfortable. Movement is very good * Pleasant

It's a very simplistic game that requires three keys (A,S,D). The game requires strategy and thinking its about resource management. Once you progress it gradually gets tougher because you need to think on what to upgrade and the game is constantly interesting. It's definitely worth your time and money. I recommend.

A pixel-art 2D side-scrolling action-strategy game where you accumulate and spend resources to try to beat a series of levels. It's kind of a strategy version of a Rogue-like, meaning that it's a strategy game rather than strictly a fighting game, as your character doesn't do any fighting directly. It's kind of a strategy version of a Rogue-like, meaning that it's a strategy game rather than strictly a fighting game, as your character doesn't do any fighting directly. However, you're expected to replay a level many times as you discover the mechanics, the consequences of your actions, and unlock bonus features that you will need to win.

    THE GOOD:
    - There is some some genuine strategy in very simple mechanics. Basically, you choose where to go (it takes time to move from point A to point B and you can't be everywhere at once), and you choose where to spend your limited funds.
    - Some genuine surprises are in store (there was at least one moment where my jaw dropped and I nearly had a heart attack), although the surprises can be quite demoralizing at times.
    - The game does not allow save scumming, which leads to a much more exciting and tense game.
    - When I beat the final island and saw the credits roll, it felt good! It took me about 22 hours. I did not have the heart to try the bonus Skull Island DLC.

    THE BAD:
    - The game makers explain basically NOTHING, with the in-game tutorial offering only the most elementary information on the UI interaction.
    - Due to the low-resolution pixel graphics, it's not always obvious what a thing even is. Expect to spend money on things without having any idea of what they will do or what the implications are. And then expect to lose because your choices were bad.
    - The completely obscure mechanics require you to waste fruitless hours in experimentation and replaying levels when a simple, brief explanation would save you from all that pointless grind.
    - I ended up looking up answers on the Internet, but this has the risk of exposure to major spoilers.
    - Expect to feel frustrated during a very difficult learning curve. There can be a huge lag between making a strategic choice and discovering the consequence. The inevitable result is getting your ass handed to you (often only some hours later).
    - The levels are randomly generated, so you sometimes get a really good one and sometimes a really bad one. If you've got a bad level, it's not always obvious until you've wasted a few hours.

    THE UGLY:
    - The NPC AI is idiotic. It's fairly predictable in its stupidity, so it's largely possible to work around the stupidity of the NPCs. However, the game would really benefit from some basic behaviour management, such as being able to direct a percentage of NPC unit types (on a per-unit-type basis) to go in one direction or the other. Or telling units not to occupy a particular tower.
    - There is no ability to cancel a command. This is a deliberate design choice by the game makers. It means that a momentary lapse of reason can completely ruin hours of work.

Quite original for a tower defense. Enjoyable the first few hours but becomes pretty repetitive after 15 - 20 hours

The concept is simple enough to be enjoyable and fun. Type of game that's crushing hard until you figure it out.

After playing the first game, I couldn't have thought of a better way of improving it. They added an island system and on each island, you unlock new things. These things motivate you to start over with new equipments.

Even though it gets boring after some time, I always had the motivation to start over and over again. Maybe I like the feeling of starting with nothing or creating better

Even though it gets boring after some time, I always had the motivation to start over and over again. Maybe I like the feeling of starting with nothing or creating better defense&offense to be able to beat `greed` earlier in the game. New equipments may change the way you play which enhances the gameplay.

Lastly, the last island, Skull Island, was also fun to play. It is a lot more challenging but after playing many many times for unlocking all unlockables, it wasn't hard at all :)

I can’t recommend this game highly enough and I also can’t see a single gamer who wouldn’t enjoy playing it; it’s relaxing and endearing style almost makes me wish I could escape into that demon-filled forest.
