    I was a fan of 7Dots other visual novel “Satellite” so I had high hopes for kilmonger. Those hopes were mostly met. I enjoyed the story butI was a fan of 7Dots other visual novel “Satellite” so I had high hopes for kilmonger. Those hopes were mostly met. I enjoyed the story but found there a lot about the game’s world that was unexplained in terms of organizations and people. The ending in my first playthrough seemed to be rushed and left me with more questions than answers. I don’t always mind this but I felt it like an error on the developers part rather than trying to be ambigious and give me freedom to fill in the blanks. The positives outweight the negatives though. The characters and world were intersting and I was given enough choices to alter the story to satisfy me. There was no voice acting but the soundtrack was enjoyable.

    I played kilmonger on Linux. The game never crashed on me but there were three eror messages that came up during play. Luckily I just had to hit “Ignore” each time and was able to continue. Alt-Tab didn’t work. The game did open on the wrong monitor but this is a common issue with older versions of the Ren’Py engine. This issue was fixed in Ren’Py version 7.2.1, I’m not sure which version kilmonger uses. During play my total system RAM usage was 2.9GB; my VRAM usage was 377MB; my GPU usage was 7.5% and my CPU usage was 5%. The game supported manual saves and gave me 150 save slots to use.

    If you enjoy visual novels I can recommend kilmonger. I finished my first playthrough in an hour but there are several different endings. I paid $4.19 CAD for the game and felt it was good value for the cost.
