    As some have stated, this is a love it or hate it game. The idea of comparing killing floor with L4D is absurd, the only similarity in game play is that there is a truck-load of zombies to kill. Myself? I'd recommend killing floor to everyone and anyone.

    This game was simply amazing, i have spent hours playing it, why? Because of its simple addictive game play that keeps me coming back for more. And of course im going to compare it to L4D, L4D has great graphics, great sound, but it only has 4 characters and is extremely linear. Whereas Killing Floor as about 10 or so characters, it has several levels that are not linear, both made by the This game was simply amazing, i have spent hours playing it, why?     Killing Floor offers alot of fun and excitment for a $19.99 price! While it doesn't have many maps now, I'm hoping it will expand soon. The graphics are up to date and the game play is simple run-and-gun, which I don't mind. The Solo (Single Player) offers hours and I do mean hours of fun, terror and at times agravation. The perks and upgrades are a lovely add to the game, Killing Floor offers alot of fun and excitment for a $19.99 price! While it doesn't have many maps now, I'm hoping it will expand soon.     I believe this game is a cross between Doom 3 and Left 4 Dead. It has aspects of both, is fun, and is remarkably entertaining. I believe it poses a good challenge, and is very fun online.

    One fun game. Lots of action and tons of good old zombie killing pleasure. Tough for sure, but that's the way I like it!

    Its pretty nice game. One of the first things you'll notice about it is that there is variety. You can choose Perks (Like Field Medic, or Sharpshooter) , and you have a nice selection of enemies to face. The graphics are really good, compared to certain other games. Some people would say its not as good as L4D, but in my opinion I like this a bit better. The price might seem a bit Its pretty nice game.     I have to say an AWESOME game, it is easy as well as hard you can solo it but it would take time and the first round is easy where as the rest are hard, one of the best games i have played. If i had to chose out of KF and L4D; KF is a mile ahead, it is true it is hard to compare them but the fact is what one scares u more what one do you spend your time on and what one do u enjoy to play.

    I played this game since it came out as a mod for UT2k4 and I have gotta say it vastly improved from the mod version, it really feels like a full blown game now.     About 20x better than Left 4 Dead! This game is the best co-op experience i ever had. I could play this game for hours and never get tired of it. Their is a single-player by the way and its crazy fun! It also has some very good features. Like the slow motion, trading, and giving money away! I LOVE THIS GAME!

    Not only is the game fun, it's also going to be supported by Tripwire Interactive for quite a while, if they hold up on their plans. Also, the gaming community has produced quite a few great maps already. If they keep up at this rate, we'll have a nearly unlimited amount of *fun* to glean from this great title. It's not very polished now, but if Tripwire holds up it'll Not only is the game fun, it's also going to be supported by Tripwire Interactive for quite a while, if they hold up on their plans. Also, the gaming community has produced quite a few great maps already. If they keep up at this rate, we'll have a nearly unlimited amount of *fun* to glean from this great title. It's not very polished now, but if Tripwire holds up it'll be much more polished than many other retail games. Either way, it's totally worth the $20 right now.… Expand

    I found this game to be a breath of fresh air on the whole common "Zombie shooter" genre. It's ingenuious design allows many hours of gameplay, and unlike Left 4 dead, you'll rarely get bored of repeation, due to 16 different weapons, 9 different enemies, 5 different maps, and tons of Downloadable Content, as well as user made maps, you can deafeat zombies completley alone and I found this game to be a breath of fresh air on the whole common "Zombie shooter" genre. Now that's insane! There are 6 different perks to level up, and you'll undoubtly find a favorite. Each of the weapons are fun to use, and all have releastic ADS.     Killing floor is one of the best games I've purchased in a long time. If you liked L4D you'll love killing floor. I recently bought this game and have play the shit out of it. This game doesn't have you running check point to check point but instead has you fighting off waves of zombies. The only things I've found bad about killing floor is its stupid phrases the characters, and trader says. The trade says the most retared things I've ever heard ,literally she sounds like she has down syndrome when she talks. The game could have been better. Needed more content when it first came out. The same 5 lvls gets old after awhile and characters are very limited and could have had more work done on them. They have released the outbreak character pack which gives you four new characters to play as for $2. Yeah i know its BS that they are making people pay for new for content let alone characters. Its a mod the DLC should come free. But they have recently announced the FREE DLC heavy metal. It will include a whole new map, new weapons such as the katana and the ak-47! They're also saying there's a lot more free DLC to come. Differently from most survival games there are perks in the game such as beserk, sharp shooter, medic, support specialist, and commando. All have equally beneficial advantage to them. You can also get ZEDtime which you get from killing a good amount of infected. Zedtime slows down time, very useful when you have a clot on you and surrounded by infected. Killing floor has a decent amount of weapons ranging from melee, to dual wielding and the usual shotguns, machine guns, and sniper rifle. This game definitely has a lot more weapons then L4D which was one of the biggest let downs. After playing killing floor I've learned this game isnt for anyone. If your one of the people who is impatient and goes off on your own cause you think your a bad ass this isn't your game. This game is team based meaning having to work together, without team work you'll end up like poster 1. So if your looking for a game that's fast past, challenging,co op, and different from most survival horror games then killing floor is the game for you. I really suggest buying this game its only $20 and release DLC often. So if you love gory zombie games this is a must buy then and even if you don't its definitely worth trying out.… Expand

Way better than left 4 dead (A game which stole many ideas from half-life 2 mods and then sucked as well) The only negative thing i would have to say that's wrong with Killing Floor would be when the store owner pops up repeatedly to tell you come get your guns boys or something similar! Overall kick-butt game!! P.S. Dead Rising is The best zombie-co-op game I've played yet!!     Ever since I've got this game on release date, I have always played it here and then, it's probably one of the only games I play now a days because it's simply FUN! If you're a fan of zombie coop survival like me, this is a must have game. Especially with a price of 20 bucks (18 bucks right now with the august deal/heavy metal pack). L4D was so bland because it was linear, but KF is open space and every time I play it feels different because I can take different routes or camp in different locations etc. The perks are the best part too because it feels like a different experience when you use different perks, like a whole new game. The weapon selection and iron cross effects gives the game a whole different perspective to zombie shooters, gotta love it. Alas, the maps; there are so many of them being made from the community it's impossible to be able to play them all. There's so many other things about this game which makes me think why this doesnt have an 80+ metascore review, bunch a wanker reviewers always expecting way too much especially from an indie game that was retailed from a mod. For 20 bucks, you'll get way more out of it.… Expand

    the game is enjoyable, patching and support is dedicated ( 2 new weapons and a map just came out for free). new play modes are also on the way from TWI, all in all any other company would have made you pay 49.99$ for the original game, then made every addition on to that DLC and an extra 4.99 (*cough* FC2! *cough*).

No começo vc se complicam pouco por estar em inglês mais com tempo vc começa a pegar o jeito do negocio realmente 10 perfeito recomendo ele e left 4 dead muito bom!!

Although Left 4 Dead has the best graphics of the two, this game has the Great Gameplay and Strong Teamwork, and Sweet graphics.     I've played this game more than any other game I've ever bought. I've been playing it for 2 months and I'm still eager to get home tonight to keep playing. I acknowledge some of the criticisms but at the end of the day, it's so fun, engaging, team-building, challenging and rewarding that some of the criticized details just don't matter. I simply love it.

    I really enjoy playing killing floor. For $20 it's a great buy. Also, it has a very active community with great maps coming out all the time.
    Another selling point is that it runs very wel on older computers and looks extremely good. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good fragging game!

    This game is f***ing brilliant. I have no idea how it could be given a 70 on metagame score. Whereas Left 4 Dead magically gets a 89 for its horribly repetitive gameplay, lack of melee weapons, and "pretty" graphics. Finding a good group may be hard, but try finding any on L4D. Added bonus of great price $20, and FREE GAMEPLAY CHANGING DLCs (stick that in ur pipe and smoke it L4D2). 10/10

    If you like online co-op, then this game is one to buy. If you like story mode and can't enjoy the co-op until there is hopefully a campaign kind of mode, then don't buy it. It has alot of new stuff (characters, maps, guns) and alot of gameplay time. I play whenever I get a chance or get bored, and there are enough user made maps to enjoy when core maps get boring.

    This games is very "charming". It brings me back to a good old fashion FPS (but multiplayer) just going around killing nasty vision of hell with heavy metal blasting for the mood music (ie Doom). I miss this kind of thing and they just made it better giving it a character development system and free content updates. 10 bucks VERY well spent!     This is a great third party game. It was created from the ground up and since its creation the support has been consistent and shows no signs of relenting, as a gamer i feel that this is invaluable. The game is action packed and relentless so its either go all out or go home which makes for a very enthralling gaming experience.

    If not for the 2 day free weekend on steam I would have NEVER known about this gem of a game. It's the most intense team based survival horror game I have ever played... and for the $15, it's money very well spent. Crazy, crazy game.

The game is AMAZING, its not repetitive, maybe on the last waves but you won't care, you want to play more. It's a good game to own, but, if you're looking for a lot of content fast you might want to wait a month or so.     Killing floor is what you would expect, loads of slow zombies trying to eat your brains while you defend your self with a chainsaw and a few grenades. You can play it all night long and it is so cheap so you could also buy your friend a copy. If your on the edge of buying it and reading though reviews, just get it, you won't regret it!

    Best co-op experience I've ever had! Played and really enjoyed the mod back in the old days. Quality of the retail release blew my head off. Skip the 3 beers you planned to drink tomorrow and buy THE GAME instead! You won't regret it!!!!

    This game is an over looked gem. The weapon physics are much better than other games in the genre. The atmosphere created by Tripwire suits the game perfectly. This game is a bargain as far as value goes for the price.

    i recently bought left 4 dead 2 and i found myself playing this much more than l4d2 it is a much better than l4d2 and is such a fun scary game. and its so cheap how do valve get away with theft when games like killing floor are $20 its simply an amazing game

    This is great for a casual game. If you want OMG SERIOS STORY and brown and light bloom and all that nonsense, go somewhere else. But if you just want something to pop on to after work to kill some zombies, this is the best you'll get for the price.

It may seem repetitive to some, but with the unlimited amount of strategies that can be thought out; the fun never ends! Professional Critics are stating it to be a Left 4 Dead rip-off; they are wrong. It's not a matter of opinion here, because the original Killing Floor mod came out before Left 4 Dead. I was hesitant at first to pick up the game because of he reviews. Then I was forced (gifted) it by a friend, and so I tried it out and thought it was decent.     An incredibly fun game, almost at the standards of even Left 4 Dead. Perks make the game less repetitive, and there are many well made maps, with more coming from the players. It's priced at only $20 and it is often on sale. I picked mine up for $5 and couldn't be happier. I would absolutely recommend this game to a fan of Left 4 Dead, or any FPS in general.

    Good soundtrack, good graphics and optimization, simple yet great controls. The british accents are definitely a plus, and makes the game even more fun. KF is worth your time and money.

In some parts you might need to book it down a street to escape death, or you might have to barricade yourself in a room with your friends. The numerous difficulties allow for a good ratio of skill. But Steam usually has this game on sale occasionally. Great perks and weapons to help yourself stay alive for 10 waves until the end boss (Patriarch) at the 11th wave. The only problem is that you might find yourself on suicide or HoEA very amusing and fast paced game. I've bought this game 2 years ago and still play it regularly!     The game is an absolute blast. It really comes together when you're working with a large team (6 being the maximum) and working together to win the match. When each player is playing a needed role and everyone cooperates the game is great. More often than not, unless you have friends, this just doesn't happen all that often. Sharpshooters deal with the big nasties, the firebug slows enemies and makes them easier to kill, the support specialist and demolitions help with crowd control, the medic heals, the berzerker soaks up damage and doesn't require ammo, and the commando which has automatic guns. Not every perk is required to win but all serve a good purpose. The max level of each perk is not very high and slow to level, but with only 6 levels in each taking a long time to level only makes sense.

    The game can also be repetitive, but with different people in different games, it feels like a different game every time. And with the developer constantly doing seasonal re-skins of the zombies and a new map release for different seasons, there's no shortage of maps to play at all!

    In the end of the day, this game is an instant classic for me and well worth the price tag (Which I got on sale!)    … Expand

    I dont know who would rate this game anything under 9-10 score points.Its such a fun game and the map's are really well creepylike created.They put a lot of effort and time into there designs and made it very creative and sweet! the game play is also very neat and i find it a much better fun creepier game then l4d.Its just great if you dont own it you should!

    Custom servers are a heck of a lot of fun since most of them have tons of custom weapons, perks and have huge population caps compared to vanilla, which has a cap of 6 people.

    The only issues I have with the game are the sketchy hit-boxes, which are a problem when enemies react to getting shot, shooting the enemies in the head while they are flailing about from getting shot does not necessarily count as a headshot since the hitboxes are not where the actual model are when moving. The other issue they have is the derpy AI, since the Tripwire isnt all that well known for putting much effort into AI programing, you will often find enemies getting stuck, causing issues with spawning.

    The overall tone of the game is a weird mixed bag, on the surface it seems pretty serious with its dark atmosphere and creepy looking enemies, but the voice-acting and the situations are almost always done in a silly feeling. The voices are all super stereotypically British, often using more British slang than what normal British people use. It gives this really funky but enjoyable feeling to the game.

    One thing I have to complain about when it comes to the developer/publisher (Tripwire), is that they haven't been at their A+ game recently. Their best releases are the original Red Orchestra and Killing Floor. Before, they were a very consumer friendly company, the issue that has come up recently, starting with the release of Red Orchestra 2, is that they stopped releasing polished content, they stopped continually patching issues, they also started introducing "paid DLC" for Killing Floor that keeps some weapons locked unless you have purchased it, and this isnt a $1 or so cheap add-on DLC, they ask for $8 for a weapon pack... this kind of thing is against everything that Tripwire has done and claimed that they would do. Anyways, thats the end of the rant against Tripwire, the game as it is right now is more than good, its just something to keep in mind for the future actions and releases of Tripwire.

    Overall, I think this is a great game if you like co-op shooters. If you could just stomach the somewhat dated graphics and engine (it runs in the Unreal 2 engine). I think this is well worth the price they ask, I have gotten hundreds of hours of entertainment out of this game, and if you like co-op survival wave-based shooting games, you will likely love this.    … Expand

I don't think it helps the game at all and only adds to the repetitive nature. The game has a server browser which is nice, however teams only consist of 6 players, so lobbies fill up quick and it makes it a pain to try and play with friends unless one of you is able to host a server. If you don't host a server, plan on having other players join in as well. Overall I enjoyed my time with it but it was too repetitive to warrant a high score.… Expand

    If this game would have more content, I could have given a real nice score. Something like 9? But this got to be a joke, 3 maps and 1 boss?

    So anyway, the game still reach 7 for me. The graphics are great and very dated. The sound effects are nice too but the music could have be better. For the gameplay, it does not reach the greatness of L4D2 imo but still we have something real good.

    Probably the best FPS in history, bar none. The only game that can still have your heart racing with adrenaline after playing it for two years. Tripwire keeps the game fresh with new maps and achievements and events (such as the Twisted Christmas and Halloween events). This game will suck you in like none other and consume hundreds of hours. Both single player and co-op will leave you breathless.

It just recently got patched to add several new, free guns to the game, as well as an hdr bloom lighting option, which makes it look A TON better. (And it wasn't bad to begin with.)     The game is easy enough to run for even people with basic, old and outdated pcs to have fun in 6 person matches, but if you have a god pc, you can jack up all the graphical options and join massive matches as well.
    I have 300 hours into this game, and I am still loving it. The formula is solid and tense, and all the updates and mods keep it indefinitely replayable.    … Expand

    Imagine left4dead, but with the possibility of having up to 30 people fighting with you. This game is for the most part multiplayer based. Highly addictive and constantly updated. You'd think it's scary and creepy, but its fun and silly. Horrorfying will never come to mind. Do yourself a favor and get the game. 5/5. It would be a crime not to buy this game and death sentence to avoid it on sale.

The class system is also flawless, all 7 perks in the game take a very long time to rank up to level 6. And with each of those levels your class becomes much more effective, which practically balances out the game, in that if you play as a level 4 sharpshooter on hard mode you will usually always do MUCH better than somebody who is playing as a level 0 - 3. The in-game soundtrack is also great, every song will seem weird at first but they eventually start to grow on you. Basically it comes down to the very nature of how one might wish to combat certain death. You can either move from place to place cowering in fear in L4D safe houses, or you can laugh in the face of death and move from place to place buying weapons from the same merchant who knows all the good hiding spots and could never possibly think to harbor anyone else because she needs money in an apocalyptic future that still somehow has a working economy, especially for buying/selling guns which you will be spending all your money on in Killing Floor. Killing Floor? 201 hours. And that's because I have a real life to attend to. I keep going back to KF because it is addicting (repetitive, for you ignorant folks), and the community is great. If you think the critics scores are low, thats probably because they reviewed it when it came out or shortly after, this game has seen some great love by the maker, Tripwire Interactive, as they have released tons of weapons for this game, seeing a massive increase from launch.     Прекрасная прокачка в игре, много оружия, много карт, интересные монстры.

    Awesome and very addictive wave based shooter. If you have 3-5 friends you would have amazing time. There's quite a lot of content and core gameplay is solid as superman's dookie.

    This is a simple and great game. Nothing fancy, some glitches, simply AI, but really a lot of unadulterated fun. sit back and enjoy killing some zombies, sometimes you might actually find yourself being a little frightened. MAYBE. Probably not, if you're like me, you shoot the **** out of everything that moves. Lots of fun, it doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not.

With It's immersible and genius game mechanics, such as the spawning system, KF always leaves you at your toes. With the constant surge of enemies combined with the help of some players, the fun never gets old. Updated once every so and so (SeasonalAbsolutely and positively stingily great game-play. The game is greatly balanced with a great slide of Co-op which makes this game so special. With It's immersible and genius game mechanics, such as the spawning system, KF always leaves you at your toes. I play the game regularly, and I have to say that I don't get bored of it. Remember it is not a Call Of Duty run in and gun, but a game which requires the player to take on enemies specifically accordingly to perk and weaponry. This is a game truly for people who want a vivid, groundbreaking time and are up to complexly challenging difficulty ( Suicidal and Hell On Earth Difficulty ).     It's a low budget game. You just have to accept that sometimes you will just quit because rage via game unfairness. So make sure you have a back up game to play when that happens.    … Expand

    Killing floor is obviously really simple in nature and the graphics are relatively poor, but the creators have refined the mechanics to make it incredibly entertaining and addicting to play. That's because you always become better. Every round you get money to buy better weapons, and your character also becomes stronger by gaining permanent levels for the different classes.     I don't care about graphics as to some people it may matter (cod players probably :P), I say they are just fine, it's very open, non-linear in alot of well sized maps. A really horrifying fun experience, all of the specimens are freaky as hell, the type of scary fun that I love to have in horror games.     It keeps you on the end of your nerves as you learn more strategies (like staying together with your team the whole time). Unlike other games like Left 4 Dead 2, this is a more strategic one, and a lot of teamwork is required. Playing with voice comm is very effective.

    I love this game so much. Sure the voice acting is cheesy but its really fun. With other zombie games such as L4D2 and CoDBO2 they just didn't seem fun. L4D2 was too linear got boring after awhile and CoD's zombie mode has pretty much been the same since world at war. besides 6 players is usually better than 4. Best survival co-op game i have ever played

Other than that its an excellent and rather cheap survival game. If your a fan of CoD Zombies, Gears of Wars Horde Mode or even Left 4 Dead you will love this game. Along with solo mode being lacking, the only other complaint is theTotally fun. Definitely a game meant to be p[played online with friends though.     amazing co-op, many events and new updates. LOADS of guns. I prefer this over lfd2, and also this game is GREAT with friends via steam. Real life friends i mean, but playing with them on steam

    Very fluid gameplay, a leveling system which means everyone starts off at the same level, with just a pistol but you use the type of gun you want/play the part you want (e.g. healer, sniper or close combat) as that game progresses through the waves, and a slo-mo mechanic that affects all players, and makes for some epic situations. Some say its over-used in the game, but I think its at the optimal level. It doesn't interrupt the game, and it just makes lining up headshots easier.    … Expand

    This game is extremely fun. Playing co-op was the best thing that I have ever played. The replay factor for this game is high! All I have to say is buy this game and be satisfied, I enjoyed this game longer than L4D or L4D2!

Killing Floor is all about surviving wave after wave of zombies. KF actually requires tactics and skill. In KF you need to work together, hold positions and perform the tasks of your skill (perk) class.     Killing Floor is a zombie game that lacks brain and own ideas. In the main part it's simply a Left 4 Dead clone with boring maps and graphics. But Killing Floor's emphasis on tactical gameplay, the solid coop mode and the cheap prize make the game worth a look.

    Tripwire Interactives Killing Floor is what you would expect of a polished mod, but doesn't exceed expectations as a retail game. It's good, but unfortunately far from perfect. A nice addition to the survival-horror genre though, and it has an attractively cheap price tag.

    While the single-player experience is pretty much non-existent and there are still a large number of bugs that have to be contended with, there's enough of a foundation here for players to enjoy. Hop online and kill monsters for Queen and Country.
