Killing Floor 2

Killing Floor 2 is a pleasant surprise. Tripwire manages to get the fundamentals so, so right. Fighting zeds is a pleasure thanks to guns that are satisfying to use. If there is anything wrong with Killing Floor 2's dumb, yet addicting co-op fun, it's that there simply isn't enough variation, both in terms enemy types as well as game modes.

Repetitive but fun, a hellish challenge or a relaxing, spectacular gore bath depending on how you approach it.

Cooperative action Killing Floor 2 pleads for attention with richer content, explicitly displayed violence and perfectly optimized technology. It is nearly like the previous installment, but we could expect anything else. The attractiveness of the game increases the creativity of its community.

Killing Floor 2 is a joy to play and while it is made far better with friends, it does fail to deliver a worthwhile single player experience. Call up your squad of friends however, and Killing Floor 2 is a masterpiece of chaos as you cut your way through wave after wave of the toughest zeds as they struggle to overwhelm you. Killing Floor 2 is a bloody mess, and it’s a bloody good one too.

Killing Floor 2 is brutal and intense, definitely worth recommending for fans of co-op action. Mission goals are not very creative or varied, but the shooting is satisfying enough to keep you engaged even after many hours of combat.

Killing Floor 2, for better or worse, is much like its predecessor. The strong gameplay system is elevated by both its visuals and audio, with the guns being a particular highlight. There are some kinks to be ironed out here and there, but at the end of the day, Killing Floor 2 is a satisfying cooperative shooter that is so simple, so easy to play, that it’s difficult to not come back for more.

If you love FPS games and have some friends with whom to share hours of hilarious nonsense shootings, this is the product for you, definitely.

Killing Floor 2 is doing what the first episode did, but much better. Better graphics, better perks, better game mechanics... It's the best survival FPS around.

Brutal and action-packed co-op zombie shooter for up to six players. You'll have the most fun when playing with friends.

While it's a shame Tripwire didn't improve enemy variety or add a new co-operative mode, Killing Floor 2 has some of the most satisfying shooting around as the old formula holds up well thanks to high levels of polish, good perk variety, and solid maps.

The game might not be very friendly towards newbies (it doesn’t teach you how to play and therefore forces you to resort to trial and error) but once you get hold of it and gather a reliable team you’ll spend many enjoyable evenings with it. [01/2017, p.42]

For the first few hours KF2 really holds your attention with dynamic gameplay and constant gore-fest. But soon it turns stale, as there’s only one mode (plus a variation of it in which other players can join as monsters), there’s only so many types of enemies, plus, maps don’t offer sufficient variety. So every battle basically follows the same scenario. If Killing Floor 2 was a cheap indie game, it would’ve been forgivable, but at $30 price point players really have a right to expect more. The excitement gradually wears off as matches turn into grind. Killing Floor 2 can be extremely fun when taken in small doses.

There are not many games as cruel and bloody as Killing Floor 2. Taking down waves of huge monsters was never as satisfying as in Killing Floor 2, but the gameplay is not as solid as it should be.

Killing Floor 2 delivers what it promises. Mindless, explosive, bloody killings of Zed hordes upon Zed Hordes. Shooting, gore and graphics are beyond satisfying, but the gameplay, due to its limited and repeated nature, falls short after some hours. Recommended for what it is, but nothing more.

Killing Floor 2 has a lot of potential, and what it has is often pretty fun, but not enough to keep players attention for long.

Killing Floor 2 is a much more refined game than its predecessor, but it lacks some of the depth and contents that we expect from a 2016 shooter.

Killing Floor 2 can be a neat but casual online gore-fest. But even with the interesting classes it lacks variety in terms of enemies, bosses and thrills, so you’re limited to hours of grind on the same maps against the same groups of enemies.
