Apr 1, 2025This kind of came out of nowhere for me but it’s really right up my alley. A dystopian world with a well developed story… a splash of sci-fi and stunning visuals. A very tolerable amount of horror (don’t get me wrong… some of those moments if played in VR would probably require a pants change)… puzzles that are a challenge but manageable. Not to mention a moving soundtrack (even if I did have trouble making out what the words were in the song near the start of the game). Highly recommended for anyone who likes things a bit weird and thought provoking!

Jun 22, 2025Karma: The Dark World is a magnificent 6-7 hour experience that you should definitely not miss if you love cinema and are a little bit interested in dystopian worlds. A story full of surprises about the paranoia of people living under an oppressive regime whose identity is not even fully known, creepy propaganda methods, regrets, hopes and fragility... and more.

Mar 31, 2025KARMA: The Dark World is some of the most fun I've had with a game this year. It takes a potentially tired setting and injects artistry and life into it, delivering a compelling package that's thrilling, terrifying, emotive, and satisfying. For these reasons, it's an easy game to recommend not only for those inherently interested in the genre but for anyone looking for an enthralling jaunt.
-
Apr 4, 2025One of the best horror walking simulators in a long time, combining a terrifying setting with a heartbreaking story.
-
Apr 15, 2025KARMA: The Dark World cannot be called a masterpiece: the gameplay is uneven, and the metaphorical plot is interrupted quite suddenly, as if the story is not told to the end. But it is definitely a worthy psychological thriller, which keeps you in suspense until the very end and cleverly plays with emotions, so much so that you get an uncomfortable feeling of being in this monstrous dystopia.
-
Mar 31, 2025The Dark World: KARMA may not be the best horror game out there, but it's certainly one of the most praiseworthy in recent memory. Its masterful pacing ensures that every scare lands just right, while its gameplay and narrative introduce plenty of unexpected surprises to keep players engaged throughout.
-
Mar 28, 2025Karma: The Dark World is a fun interactive story that has you explore the darkest reaches of the human psyche with excellent surreal horror and an interesting story to uncover.
-
Mar 27, 2025Karma is a story about philosophy, religion, and culture, about the essence of humanity. Finally, I'd like to leave you with something unrelated to the game itself, but something you should return to after experiencing it for yourself. There's a lot to be said for the name of the studio behind Karma, Pollard Studios. Pollarding means cutting down or pruning trees so they grow back better, stronger, and denser. Perhaps things must first be destroyed before they can heal.
-
Mar 27, 2025KARMA: The Dark World builds fear through disorientation, uncertainty, and mental manipulation. It’s a game that forces you to piece together a reality that refuses to stay still, all while questioning whether you are uncovering the truth, or simply losing your mind. KARMA delivers gripping psychological horror through mind-dives, oppressive world-building, and a haunting soundscape. While occasional technical hiccups detract slightly, they don’t overshadow the game’s unsettling atmosphere and strong narrative ambition.
-
Mar 27, 2025KARMA: The Dark World is one hell of an enjoyable experience thanks to its stunning graphics, meaningful visuals, and gripping narrative. You will never know what’s coming next or where the story will take you but you are guaranteed to be in for a wild ride with a few jumps along the way.
-
Mar 27, 2025There are games that make you think - about the universe, the meaning of life, what is important and where we are going, the consequences of our actions. This psychological thriller evokes anything but indifference.
-
Mar 27, 2025In short, Karma: The Dark World is a highly entertaining psychological thriller that, with its remarkable graphics, outstanding art direction, and well-crafted narrative, is a highly recommended experience for fans of this type of story within the walking simulator genre. It's nothing particularly groundbreaking, but if you want a game that will captivate you from beginning to end, we think this title is well worth your time.
-
Apr 15, 2025Karma the Dark World is a fantastic horror game that is only held back by a slow ending, with that, it has a fantastic plot which I can only hope to see it continued in another game.
-
Apr 7, 2025KARMA: The Dark World is a bold and thought-provoking experience that excels in storytelling, atmosphere, and immersive world-building. While it may not appeal to those looking for fast-paced action, it is a must-play for fans of psychological thrillers and dystopian narratives.
-
Apr 4, 2025A bewildering story is content to leave players floundering in the dark, but KARMA’s commitment to nonstop weirdness provides some gloriously unhinged nightmare fuel.
-
Apr 2, 2025Karma: The Dark World is a compilation of popular movies and games, which in its desire to copy got too carried away, losing its own identity.
-
Mar 27, 2025Taken as a game, KARMA: The Dark World is well-crafted but has modest length and complexity. However, when viewed as an interactive cinematic experience, it becomes a rather profound work that draws heavily from the greatest dystopian and science fiction masterpieces to immerse the player in a captivating story. The recommendation, therefore, is to approach it with this second perspective in mind.
-
Mar 27, 2025KARMA: The Dark World tells a mildly interesting story, but it squanders a lot of good potential with simplistic gameplay and obvious symbolism.
-
Mar 27, 2025KARMA: The Dark World is efficient in delivering an intriguing narrative and a tense setting. However, your role as a player is far below expectations in gameplay and is limited to interacting in the scenarios.
-
Mar 27, 2025The stylistic choices and the intention to offer a game that challenges the conventions of the sci-fi horror genre are commendable, but the overall feeling is one of a missed opportunity. If you're a fan of the genre and looking for an experience that challenges your perceptions, KARMA: The Dark World is still a title worth exploring, but with the awareness that it never fully reaches the potential greatness it could have.
-
Apr 20, 2025A fantastic soundtrack and handful of excellent scenes aren’t enough to give Karma: The Dark World an identity greater than the number of sci-fi and horror classics it bluntly references throughout its story.
