You know its good. Need more modes but frontier supports their games long so im not worried. Dlc politic is garbage tho. 8 bucks 3 dinos? Are you on crack? A lot more would buy at 5 and make more money in the end.

very similar to the first game in the franchise, but they added new mechanics that make the gameplay a little more complex, I loved it, the game just needs a better optimization, but I didn't have many problems

I think it's worth it, you fan of the franchise, you'll definitely like it, the gameplay is much harder now, which is a good thing, the animals have much better effects and animations, vegetation and maps are very more varied, the decorations, everything is better, so I think it's a very different evolution from the first game. Thank you Frontier for providing us with this beautiful game.

A good follow-up to the first one, that will most definitely get better with time.

Plus 90% of all negative critics are from people complaining about how hard and overall more complex than the first one was, it's pathetic, you think this games management is hard? Go play Planet zoo to see a true overcomplicated management, you think putting doctors to sleep is boring and bad the wait until you planet zoo where you have manage real boring stuff like their salary, anyone that compares the two and says planet zoo is better (management wise) are either dumb and not really played the game or their hipocritics for upholding the hard and boring management of PZ against the more player friendly and overall easier management of JW Evolution2

JWE2 is an improvement over the original in almost every single way. Frontier introduced several new elements to make managing your park an actual thing, instead of the original formula of just 'build it and look at it' without much thought.

JWE2 is an improvement over the original in almost every single way. Frontier introduced several new elements to make managing your park an actual thing, instead of the original formula of just 'build it and look at it' without much thought.

In JWE2 you have to actually create habitats now (correct types of plants and environments inside paddocks) instead of the old 'drop the feeder and nothing else matters' approach. You have to breed and select dinos based on traits like +dominance or +aggressiveness and attack in order to make sure you don't release a complete **** that's going to attack everything in sight causing injuries and costing you money (unless you want that, or want to create an Alpha to keep the others in line and prevent them from fighting). There's so much more interactivity and management that to some could seem like pointless busy work, but to me that's what GAMEPLAY is. It's reasons to revisit and tweak things, and actually manage things.

JWE2 ups the difficulty curve and I like that. Somehow Frontier has created a sense of urgency, agency and uncertainty in a park manager / builder that I didn't think could exist. I'll give you an example:

Had park on the first Chaos Theory, 4 stars, running very well, solid. Everything was monitored, feeders were automatically replenished, not many fights or injuries. I sent out an expensive expedition, built some stuff and cash was low but that's OK I was making maybe 350k / minute. Then a storm hit. Nothing scripted, just a random tropical storm. Opened the shelters, which drops income to zero which is fine it's just for a few minutes, THEN a dino broke a fence segment. This caused "dino threat" at the park. I looked and my cash savings was zero and going into the negative. I had over-spent and didn't leave a big enough cushion for repairs during a possible storm. Couldn't close the shelters because of the 'dino threat' with an open fence (people would have been injured, income tanks when guests are threatened anyway) and I couldn't afford to fix the fence. Holy **** my park is finished. Luckily I had an empty paddock I had built preparing for my T-Rex so I tranquilized the dinos in the broken paddock and airlifted them to the empty one. Problem was it was full of sand and biome for a T-Rex and had nothing that the relocated dinos could eat. It was a race against time to get the dinos there, clear out the broken paddock and repair the fence to stop the dino threat warning, and get my income back into the positive before the relocated dinos died.

TLDR: This game creates actual scenarios where you have to white knuckle for a bit, and plan intelligently and for contingencies or you can lose your park. THAT'S COMPELLING GAMEPLAY! It's so far superior to JWE1's formula of building a park with no risks of it dying, and doing stupid nonsense missions for 3 factions.

I think the negativity comes from people who just want a sandbox with everything unlocked to slap down and stare at, or don't want to manage dinos at all, just want to hatch them and look at them. JWE2 is great, and such an improvement over the original I am shocked. I watched tons of YouTube plays and read lots of reviews on this one and was really skeptical. But now that I've been playing, it is so much deeper and more engaging than the original I am very pleased with the result.

If you liked the original but wanted more management options, agency and sense of realism than the first game, you will love JWE2.

This Game Is an excellent park builder with beautiful dinosaurs.

Pros: decent but not impossible challenge in Chaos and Challenge Mode Intricate systems with available metrics to help your park succeed More than just breeding dinosaurs Genetics matter Engaging (still playing and being challenged) Cons: dino fight animations are a little rough No reason for dino fights still

Two of the Chaos mode levels are pointless (no park no fun)

This game has kept me engaged for 30 or 40 hours so far. It has very pretty dinosaurs, but also a very meaningful management system. I will admit I dont get to watch my dinosaurs that often, but i still have moments where i get to stare. The systems threw me for a bit, and I had to restart the first challenge mode mission multiple times, but not in a manner that was frustrating, just a good challenge that made me slow down my park a bit and focus on my guest's needs. When I started paying attention to the systems, which there is a dashboard for so it is readily available, I was able to get the hang of it, but still needed a buffer for storms. And that was a good thing, it is not as mindless as the first one.

I am currently playing through the third challenge mode, and am happy as can be. The game has gotten easier, but I think that is because i understand the mechanics better.

Just recently Frontier announced that they are adding free updates to include new dinosaurs, and the patch is addressing some of the complaints in some of these reviews. This is very kind of Frontier, and cool.

As far as the complaints for things locked behind challenge mode, two pieces of note.
1.) you do not have to meet the par time to get the unlocks
2.) I you just want to do the basic unlocks, which are environment and two skins, it can be done in about 45 min, because you only have get the park to 3 stars.

Overall I think this game is very complete, fun, and engaging. I note Completeness because that is not the standard these days for most companies.

Really good game. It has been roughly 20 hours and I mostly enjoyed. There is a campaign that takes about 7-8 hours long. Also different biomes and "Chaos Theory" mode which you create parks in the Jurassic Park/World movies. I strongly suggest for people who interested in Jurassic Park/World series or paleontology. Easily one of the best games I've ever played. I have not played Jurassic World Evolution 2 but, currently I am glad I bought this instead of that. The amount of decor you can to your park is incredible.

The biggest downside is that all the sandbox mode content is not unlocked when you first start the game. You'll have to play the game's scenarios and challenges to unlock the sandbox

A major improvement over the First one. And the DLC's it got are just great! Specifically, the Dominion BioSyn and Malta expansion's.

In the end, it doesn't bring that much revolutionary change, on the contrary, it often suffers from a desperately slow pace, dumb AI and surprising repetitiveness during classic building. [Issue#317]

Building your own Dino Park may be more fun than last time and the game is beautiful, with a certain cinematic quality to it, but there are just too many missteps, both connected to game design and technical in nature. Unless you absolutely adore dinosaurs, just play Planet Zoo.

The second incarnation of the Jurassic World Evolution series is undoubtedly a clear step up from its predecessor. The end result is a revised and corrected version of a formula that overall continues to work quite well and that we think will satisfy fans of the saga quite a bit. The game is elaborate but not particularly demanding, and it could certainly represent a more than satisfying pastime, as long as you overlook some small defects that afflict its playful structure.
