  1. Jumpgate's gameplay is what makes it a success - Wing Commander-style simplicity combined with some great in-game physics.
  2. It successfully incorporates the trading elements of "Elite" and "Privateer," the combat elements of "Freespace" and "Wing Commander," a lighter version of "Independence War"'s realistic physics, and all the level-gaining and experience bonuses that make online role-playing games so addictive.
  3. Jumpgate is a huge exception to the unofficial rule for online-only games. It is stable, solid, and virtually lag free even over a dial-up connection.
  4. It’s not perfect, it does get tedious at the start as you’re trying to level up, it’s not for everyone, but for those brought up on Elite you’ll love it.
  5. 79
I would like Jumpgate a LOT more if you had an autopilot, even if you had to buy it as a component...But the game itself is solid and has enormous potential.
  6. 78
Pick it up if you crave space combat in any and every form, or just love to meet and greet other online denizens, but be prepared for a slower paced physics focused flight and combat model that won't cater to the new and unfamiliar alike.
