Create your character from scratch, get drafted and then fight your way out of the minor leagues to "The Show". In your role as a big league ballplayer, you'll negotiate your contracts, spend your hard-earned money on some of the over 300 baseball items in the game, and manage aspects of your life both on and off the field. On the field, you can play every single game of your career,as a pitcher or hitter, with complete in-game controll. Off the field, you can enjoy some rest and relaxation, study your craft to improve your abilities, or show off your trophy case! There's much more, too: schedule your training program, check all of your stats, get into bar fights with opposing players... if it can happen in real life, it can happen in Inside the Park! 1. This is a well put together game. The only drawback is that it gets repetitive after a while and will possibly lose its luster after playing a few seasons. It’s a great first effort.
  2. The appeal of portraying a rookie with big-league dreams and the solid stat-generation of the OOTP engine make the experience captivating for a few virtual seasons.

The simplified structure of the game should appeal to sports fans that have had until this time little or no interest in RPGs. The menus are easy enough to navigate; ultimately it's not unlike being able to move around at will the kind of stats you would encounter in a standard Franchise mode.

The game is sort of a hybrid of sports and RPG. You start by setting up your "RPG" attributes and your initial skills. Later on, you will set up a weekly workout for your player that allows you to have skill increases in Contact, Power, and Gap Power.

A lot of bonuses will come from buying special bats, batting gloves, gloves, and cleats that give you bonuses when they are equipped. They can be purchased from the "Sport Center" or bought online on "Bbay".

The main bug I found in the game is when your player retires... when you start a new career in the same league in whatever year you retired... there is automatically an MLB Amateur draft set on that day, meaning for that season there are two drafts.

    But overall, this is fun.
