    Tja was soll man über Hunt: Showdown schon sagen? Etwa dass die Kämpfe brutal und erbarmungslos sind? Oder die Lernkurve zwischen X- und Y-Achse ein fast gerader Strich nach oben ist? Sicherlich ein bisschen von beidem. Entscheidend aber ist, dass Hunt: Showdown ein über alle Maßen atmosphärisches Spiel ist... zumindest wenn man es mit einem entsprechenden Headset spielt. Dann aber wirdTja was soll man über Hunt: Showdown schon sagen? Etwa dass die Kämpfe brutal und erbarmungslos sind? Oder die Lernkurve zwischen X- und Y-Achse ein fast gerader Strich nach oben ist? Sicherlich ein bisschen von beidem. Entscheidend aber ist, dass Hunt: Showdown ein über alle Maßen atmosphärisches Spiel ist... zumindest wenn man es mit einem entsprechenden Headset spielt. Dann aber wird Hunt zu einem audiovisuellen Meisterwerk und man könnte es fast soweit treiben, das Spiel ohne hinzusehen zu spielen, da es sich so viel über den Ton gibt. Davon würde ich aber aufgrund dessen abraten, da man durchaus sehr präzise, teils auf große Distanzen schießen muss. Die Grafik ist bestimmt kein Meilenstein wie einst Crysis, kann aber mit entsprechende Hardware trotzdem gut aussehen und dabei angemessene Frames auf den Bildschirm zaubern. Das Spiel lässt sicher aber auch problemlos auf älterer Hardware spielen, da es nicht besonders hohe Systemleistungen erfordert. Klar gibt es aktuell mit nur drei spielbaren Karten nicht die riesem Auswahl wie bei einem COD oder anderen Shooterkonkurrenten. Das braucht das Spiel aber auch nicht, da jedes Match von Grund auf anders abläuft und so viel Spannung herrscht, dass die Maps fast zur Nebensache verkommen. Auch die vier Bosse die es zu jagen gilt, sind alle unterschiedlich designed und haben verschieden Fähigkeiten und erfordern verschiedene Herangehensweisen. Vorteilhaft ist es aber, wenn man sich stets leise verhält. Denn ein zu lautes Auftreten kann einem raschen imgame Tod zur Folge haben. Und eure Jäger, einmal getötet, bleiben Tod und ihr müsst von vorne anfangen. Die ist besonders ärgerlich da man mit jedem Jägerstufenaufstieg verschieden Sonderfähigkeiten freischaltet, die euren Jäger noch effizienter machen. So kann dieser z.B. aus einem Medipack mehr Heilung herausziehen oder mit einem sogenannten Hahnspannrevolver schneller schießen. Diese Fähigkeiten werden nach und nach in eurem Arsenal freigeschaltet. Startet ihr mit eurem Profil zunächst auf Level 1, habt ihr bis Level 11 eine Schonfrist und eure Jäger (die unabhängig davon bis Level 50 aufsteigen können) leiden nicht unter dem berüchtigtem Dauertod. Danach allerdings schon. So steigt ihr also bis Level 100 auf und schaltet dabei allerhand neue Fähigkeiten, Waffen und Ausrüstungsgegenstände wie Dynamit, Gegengiftspritzen oder Stolperfallen frei. Diese Tools richtig eingesetzt, können euren Jägeralltag aber auch etwas angenehmer machen. Zuletzt noch ein Wort zum Support des Spiels. Hier werden von Crytek regelmäßig sogenannte Mini DLC's releases. Diese beinhalten meistens einen legendären Jäger und alternative Waffenskins. Alles also vernachlässigbar und rein kosmetischer Natur. Die Highlites hingegen sind die großen Events, bei denen man ebenfalls legendäre Jäger und Waffenskins freischalten kann, ohne dabei echtes Geld ausgeben zu müssen. Das Fortschrittssystem ist dabei fair und auch in der vorgegebenen Zeit sollte es auch jeder Durchschnittsspieler schaffen, entsprechend weit zu kommen. Abschließend bleibt also nur noch zu sagen, dass mir das Spiel auch nach 500 Spielstunden noch großen Spaß bereitet und jeder Abschuss ein sehr befriedigendes Gefühl verbreitet. Auf neue Maps und Bosse muss man zwar zu weilen lange warten, aber dafür sind diese dann auch sehr durchdacht und bringen ihre ganz eigenen kleinen Mechaniken und Feinheiten mit.     This game can offer such atmosphere and excitement, which no other game can. It is a very unique take on fps / battle royale genre with a slower pace. Weapon mechanics are trying to be very close to realism and after you get used to it (which takes a short while), it brings much joy to shoot with the weapons. The game objective can offer many unique encounters with enemy players.

    The negative side is the not so huge player base but with many veteran players (I play it pretty often and there are many players with 5-10x of playtime). It can get frustrating, if you get one-shotted multiple times from very far away. There could also content updates more often.

    I play in EU and have close to zero server / game problems. There are some bugs, but none game-breaking. Also I don't think I have encountered many cheaters, just very good players.    … Expand

    As much as Hunt: Showdown gives the impression to be a zombie survival shooter, in reality, it is the true western game. It takes place in the late 19th century Louisiana and you start as a hunter in a map filled with zombies, bosses (PVE) and numerous other hunters (PVP). You earn hunt dollars and blood bonds with your kills which you can then spend to acquire traits or buy weapons,As much as Hunt: Showdown gives the impression to be a zombie survival shooter, in reality, it is the true western game. It takes place in the late 19th century Louisiana and you start as a hunter in a map filled with zombies, bosses (PVE) and numerous other hunters (PVP). You earn hunt dollars and blood bonds with your kills which you can then spend to acquire traits or buy weapons, consumables and skins. Your profile levels up separately from your hunter. Leveling up your hunter will let you equip more traits useful for your survival and when you die, you will lose your hunter, as well as any weapons or consumables in your inventory. Leveling up your profile, on the other hand, lets you “unlock” those traits which you can equip your hunters with. Death does not affect your profile level. This is a good balance in the sense that death does have serious consequences, but not to the point that it’s extremely frustrating. Picking up a new hunter (which you will keep doing) and leveling up is always fun and offers a new challenge.

    When you kill a boss, you will extract a “bounty”, which will also let you see the nearby hunters when using “dark sight”. This gives a huge advantage for besting other hunters, as it is not easy to spot careful hunters. One of the main strengths of Hunt: Showdown is this. It’s not a game about aiming well. In fact, aiming in this game is quite poor when you compare to other multiplayer shooters. It’s about observation, predicting other hunters’ next steps and preparing for them. And when you manage to learn the game enough to kill a hunter by outsmarting them (not a random kill), it feels so satisfying.

    Some words about the sound design. This could be the best video game ever made in that aspect. First, you make sounds by stepping on a branch, walking close to an animal, by pretty much everything unless you make extra effort to be silent. When you make a sound, you attract other hunters to your location. This also means you have to pay attention and listen, use other hunters’ carelessness to your advantage. That said, there is always the chance a hunter is trying to attract you to her/his location as part of a strategy. Oh well…

    There are some weak points about Hunt: Showdown. As discussed earlier, aiming is not so good. There are only a couple of maps. Also, the game is not good at presentation. For a game with such deep mechanics, it does not do a good job educating a new player. I can imagine many players giving up without ever learning all the game mechanics. But if you give it time, learn the game to the point you start outsmarting other hunters, it will give you immense satisfaction.

    Hunt: Showdown is not perfect, but when it clicks, there is nothing quite like it.

    Best multiplayer game out as of now. I highly recommend. The audio is the best in any game and that makes it way more tactical always questioning if someone heard that you scared a crow or shot a gun or even stepped on a tree branch. For the graphics it is astonishing how good this game looks for an indie game it’s genuinely breathtaking. Compared to big games like apex legends or war zoneBest multiplayer game out as of now. Compared to big games like apex legends or war zone they pale in comparison to the amount of content a small team can put out in the same timespan as apex they have put out just as many maps in the last six months we have had multiple major events like a new boss a new map and custom ammo. The gunplay is spot on it doesn’t feel unrealistically tight like call of duty the guns feel more like escape from tarkov or insurgency sandstorm. In my 300 hours I have only encountered 0 crashes 3 disconnects and 0 game breaking bugs (or really any bugs in general) pleas do yourself a favor and get this game. The only negative I can really think of is that it is hard… like really really hard. But if you can get through the first couple of hours and understand the game mechanics you will not be disappointed .… Expand

    I bought this game because my friends encouraged me to do so. At first I thought it was a battle royale that was made to cash in on trends that were current in that period of time. I couldn't be more wrong. It's so much more. The game is unique in every way. The portrayal of late XIX century Louisiana is amazing and very indepth. Every aspect of the game relies around sound. And you can make a point that a lot of game do that. But not on that scale. Everything in the game makes unique sound. Everything is balanced around your ability to hear. The time period is another thing which makes the game stand out because how many comepetetive and serious FPSes set in the wild west era do you have on market? Not a lot if any at all. The game feels balanced and about 90% of the time you'll feel that the only thing which matters are your actual abilites rather than your or your opponent's loadout. The sci-fi implemented into the game introduces PvE mechanics which make gameplay more interesting and give players objective to fight over rather than just surviving till being the last one alive. The differs so much from other BR games and feels like it had a lot of thought put into it rather than just copy pasting the trends from the past. It's really worth giving it a shot but game itself is 30 euro so I'd rather wait for than paying full price for it. There are DLCs but they're purely cosmetics which don't have any advantage in game. And my only con is that the game can get repetetive after a couple hundred hours but devs are keep on working on the game polishing it to the best of their abilities and adding new features usually in huge content drop updates formula.… Expand

    After more than a year in Early Access Hunt finally was released and in my opinion it is the best FPS for 2018 as well as 2019. I already put in hundreds of hours in Early Access and now that it fully released I could also convince some friends to join now.

    There have been some small technical issues, one 'freeze' of the game requiring sign out of windows, and FPS is about 45 with my 1070. Given the slower pace of combat, this is not really a problem, and a fair tradeoff given how beautiful the environments are. Given the bargain price of $30 during Early Access, I'm willing to accept some roughness.

    Dispite early access possible problems (long loading, servers restarting), you might get an incredible online and gaming experience. Also, last patch fixed fps drops : with an i7 2600K, 16GB of memory and GTX1060, i can almost keep 60 fps, never lowering under 50.

    As people have mentioned, this is a great game, really well done. The Graphics are the best I've seen, the sounds effects the best Ive heard and the gameplay is exceptional. I took a risk and bought it on steam discount. So glad I did. Its well decent. Intense like Tarkov and the gun mechanics are top notch. If you have the cash buy it.     Но бесит система Престижа, когда ты с Ромеро играешь против Мосинок-автоматов.
    Но не смотря на это я ее рекомендую, не смотря на баланс, потому что у Крайтеков сейчас не лучшие времена и без вашей поддержки игра долго не протянет. В игре отличный звук, картинка. Проблемы встречаются лишь с серверами и то не у всех и с оптимизацией, но на любом корыте с i3, 8 gb ОЗУ и 2 гб видеопамяти будет идти. Проект перспективный, жду с нетерпением релиза!    … Expand

    The game has been improving a lot in the past few months. The Dev's are really active and aware of what the community thinks about their game.
    The only "bad thing" is the balance in price/damage on some weapons, some of the cheaper weapons have almost no flaws and are on par in therms of killing potential as the most expensive ones.

    If you like fast nonsense shooters with die and spawn wihtin seconds dont play this game.
    If you wanna know what fear is and you want real challenge its the most intense game ever.
    Play unsafe or be rambo and loose your hunter permanent...play as team and tactic become a hero :D

    New gameplay and nice graphics with excellent sound. Atmosphere is amazing and the hunter recruit permadeath system makes it so hard to die. I love that game..was waiting so long for a competitive monster game. Thx crytek

    I'm very confused by the negative reviews since I don't find them to match reality at all. One said there's no practice mode, there is, it's literally called training mode. Along with tons of single-player challenges that help sharpen your skills.

    The same reviewer said you'll be matched with max-level players. Not true. I've never seen one max-level player. There's a robust elo rating system that matches you with players that have the same skill level and I find it works well.

    A reviewer said if you choose to play solo you're only matched against teams. Again, not true. There's a quickplay mode where EVERYONE is solo. It's frustrating seeing reviews from people that play one match of one of the best games I've ever played and give it a ZERO OUT OF TEN. I think it speaks to their intelligence.

    This game is great. If you find battle royal, western, and atmospheric games give this a try, I promise you won't regret it. I was skeptical at first but "Skillup" on YouTube had an excellent review on the game so I decided to give it a shot. Boy am I ever glad I did.    … Expand

Fortnite oder Call Of Duty, außer Battlefield spiele ich eigentlich keine Multiplayer Spiele, Hunt: Showdown spiele ich jetzt aber schon seit 1,5 Jahren und es ist ein bisschen langweiliger geworden, das Gunplay ist richtig gut gemacht, die Bosse sind sehr gut balanced und auch die normalen NPC Gegner werden nicht langweilig, wirklich ein absolut gelungenes Multiplayer Spiel,Egal ob Apex. Fortnite oder Call Of Duty, außer Battlefield spiele ich eigentlich keine Multiplayer Spiele, Hunt: Showdown spiele ich jetzt aber schon seit 1,5 Jahren und es ist ein bisschen langweiliger geworden, das Gunplay ist richtig gut gemacht, die Bosse sind sehr gut balanced und auch die normalen NPC Gegner werden nicht langweilig, wirklich ein absolut gelungenes Multiplayer Spiel, für mich sogar das beste der letzten 5 Jahre, da hat Crytek endlich mal wieder etwas gutes gemacht.… Expand

    Besides its early access stadium-- this game already is a hit. I really do enjoy it. It takes a few minutes to matchmaking and the experience itself is mindblowing. Highly recommend this game!!!

    Maybe the best game I will ever play. The atmosphere, the guns, the PvEvP - it all comes together and makes a unique experience that I recommend to anyone. Fantastic game!

    Hunt Showdown, simply put, is the most original multiplayer shooter I’ve played this decade. And it’s fun. Really really fun. Amazing graphics, INCREDIBLE binaural sound design, and an overall aesthetic that’s fiercely original in the MP shooter space. Like RDR had a baby with Resident Evil. Performance is great on my 1070, 60 FPS locked at high settings. Server issues only effected me oneHunt Showdown, simply put, is the most original multiplayer shooter I’ve played this decade. And it’s fun. Really really fun. Amazing graphics, INCREDIBLE binaural sound design, and an overall aesthetic that’s fiercely original in the MP shooter space. Like RDR had a baby with Resident Evil. Performance is great on my 1070, 60 FPS locked at high settings. Server issues only effected me one day out of 100 hrs so far, just some disconnects (Cryteks working on it). If you are looking for an online shooter that retains the tension of survival horror, and rewards careful tactical play (not just “run around and shoot good”) then I can’t recommend Hunt enough. It gives me frequent panic attacks but that’s why I love it ;)… Expand

    one of the most tense fps at the moment, it's very unique, setted in the 1980 lousiana swamps, i highly recommend it, is not a br game btw if you are thinking it, here you have some mission, not just killing other player, oh forgot the audio is the most insane i ever seen, 10/10

Single action rifles, pistols, crossbows, and various punchy shotguns (as well as many more inventive weapons and defense/offense tools), all of which have slightly varying specs, and one of which will definitely fit your style. TheA masterpiece of atmosphere, slow-building (or sudden spiking) tension, and stealth mechanics. Guns are varied and incredibly well-chosen for the setting. Single action rifles, pistols, crossbows, and various punchy shotguns (as well as many more inventive weapons and defense/offense tools), all of which have slightly varying specs, and one of which will definitely fit your style. The eldritch, lower-case L lovecraftian environment and tone exists nowhere else in games. Gunfights will often be protracted, clenched-teeth affairs as each team attempts to sniff out the moves of the other, hidden in some sprawling lumber yard or slaughterhouse (among many other ruined and cursed rural outposts) or near-terrifying exchanges in the bayou, where every noise can attract the awful hosts of AI that stalk the zones. P v P v E v Boss v Your ever-increasing hypertension and derangement make for an incredible experience. It’s a magnificent game, with deep deep audio and interaction systems built with cardiac arrest and Paleolithic howls of triumph in store for every player. Often in the same game. And it’s cheaper by $20 than a typical AAA game. Believe.… Expand

    Finally an original FPS idea. This game really impressed me with it's graphics and sound, but also with the gameplay and the idea itself. It offers a really intense experience. Note that the real action only starts from rank 20, until then it's gonna be quite easy and you won't encounter much players, but just give it some time.     HUNT: SHOWDOWN is a western-style FPS PvP game with elements of PvE. Audio is very important in this game, which is refreshing, and adds a creative flavor to this game that makes it stand out in a sea of monotony. Gameplay and mechanics are solid.     Gameplay is slower compared to Cod, BF and Siege, but way more enjoyable, at least for me.

    HIGH RISK, HIGH REWARD, they say in the description. And its true. The game is so intense, you sweat and freeze while your trying to get the bounty from the boss, or other people. I like the choice of year, the end of the 1800's. The game is best with friends.

    Although Hunt might have its edges and might not feel as smooth as Apex, for example, the emotions you feel after failure or success both are much stronger.
    Still, the best part of this game is definitely the audio. Never before have I been able to pinpoint the three-dimensional position of enemies as accurately as in this game. You not only can distinguish when your enemy steps on wood, mud or stone, but you even can determine his weaponry just by listening to the reload sound he makes behind cover. Every gun and every monster has its specific sounds that can be distinguished after only a few rounds. I wish every game would celebrate good audio as much as Hunt!
    There were some big issues with server stability and bugs after the last patch, but at least for me these issues have been resolved and now the game runs fine and the FPS is also quite ok, considering that it looks just beautiful. It runs at 65-90 fps with most settings on max on 1440p with my i5 9600k @ 4,7 Ghz + RTX2070 non-super.

    In summary, this is the best game of 2019 so far for me. It is definitely worth the 40-50€ and a must buy if you favour tactical / teambased play over fast-paced gameplay.
    I hope that the playerbase grows (afaik numbers went down after the last patch fiasko), so please buy this game!
    And to the developers: Awesome game! Please add more content in the near future to attract new players and keep the old ones! (However, ensure that your patches run fine before releasing it!)    … Expand

Secondly the sound of the game is so spot on I actually suspect that this is a game built around the amazing sound engine rather than the other way around. Camping is not an option as you literally will get nowhere if that's what you decide to do. You may sneak in a few kills but generally you won't progress faster than if you actually play the game as intended. Every encounter with other players is adrenaline inducing (except for the few cases in which you will get headshotted before you even notice anyone). That being said, the game doesn't come without a few short comings. What I didn't like was the lack of variety of maps/bosses, which may be fixed later on. Game has come a long way optimization wise, but it still has a fairly long way to go. Gun handling is not the best, but I can't point that out as a con, seeing as it is intended due to the age of the guns, that being said they made a great job of balancing all the guns in the game.     Must be played with friends. Matchmaking is a disaster and you'll most likely be dropped from some pro trying to match with someone a descent level. The gameplay is beautiful but tends to be a bit repetitive. There could easily be more monsters added to this long-running game.

    I understand that the game is probably heavy for the PS4, but overall I'm happy. Playing with a friend is very nice, though the downloads are very long. Please make the control in the menu on the arrows because the control of the stick is extremely inconvenient and slow. Or at least add the ability to increase the speed of the marker.

It’s a small detail and probably doesn’t warrant deducting a whole point but I can’t score it a 10 because of it and there is no 9.9 option.     Again, this game is tough, and the player base has a lot of veterans (from 3 to 6 stars) with lots of hours of play, expect to get shot where you least expect it.

    Great team shooter with a unique and fresh setting. The game has its flaws but overall the feeling of landing a shot and getting the kill is very rewarding. I love the guns and the hunters and really dont mind buying cosmetics to help support the devs. Best played in teams of two or three but solo players can still have fun too. Just be prepared the learning curve is harsh and you WILL die.

    Its the best game ive ever played and i have a long history of fps games. Its hard so maybe not everybody will like it, but its so rewarding. the gunplay is awasome and the atmosphere the game makes... ugh i love it. almost everything in this games is the best, sound, graphics are pretty good and the map design. would recommend 10/10

    After I played this game almost for 2000h I stopped.
    It is a great game. One of the most interesting and best designed shooter out there. Every single hour of playing was fun.

    -general gameplay

    What is neutral?
    -some people seem to have server issues but I never ran into that
    -overall the community is quite polite but oc there are black sheeps

    What is bad?
    -sometimes there are game changing bugs

    Why I stopped playing? Because after 2000h it just isn´t that compelling anymore. I´m also not particular a fan of the events and when I am such invested in a game, I develop an urge to unlock everything and have every single Item. But sometimes I just want to play some other games or need to learn for college or something like that. But recently the developers just released to much content and I just can´t keep up if I don´t want to invest more real money.
    But I can recommend everyone to try this game. Only Problem is you need something in the neighbourhood of 10h to know if Hunt is the game for you. But on Steam you only can return it within the first 2h. So you should have enough money to not worry about investing 25€ in something you don´t like.    … Expand

    Ich finde das Gunplay mega. Man muss einfach aufpassen wo man läuft, was man schlägt oder zerstört. Hier wird ein gutes Stereo Headset einfach vorausgesetzt. Das Audio Mapping ist der Hammer. Man kann jedes Geräusch identifizieren was es ist und wo es auch herkommt.
    Thema Cheater: Ja es gibt Cheats und Hacks für das Spiel aber Erfahrungsgemäß begegnet man nur sehr wenigen Cheatern.
    Das Game macht zu zweit oder dritt am meisten Spaß. Aber auch alleine gegen Trios ist es durchaus spielbar und man muss sich nun mal darauf einstellen. Ich gehe als Solo z.B. nie auf den Boss, sondern nur auf Spieler.
    Dieses Spiel ist mit keinem anderen vergleichbar. Und jeder der hier andere Shooter als Vergleich nimmt, ist fehl am Platz.    … Expand

    Playing this game about two years and it still did not get bored. It has some bugs from time to time, but the game mechanic and audio is amazing. It is one of the best games so far.

    My favorite Shooter over the last years.
    Before getting the game I was very skeptical as it is not my facorite setting (old weapons, zombies, etc), but I came out to be my favorite shooter.
    Great game! Great community

    Hunt: Showdown is a great blend of battle royale and survival horror; one that is an enjoyable, but also unbelievably tense, and merciless gaming experience. Apart from being quite rough around the edges, its unrelenting nature (courtesy of its surprisingly cruel permadeath mechanic), and almost awful matchmaking logic, make this a game for only a few - a few who must put hundreds of work on it, if they don't won't to spend most of their time staring at the words "You're Dead!"
