    Full of bugs and cheaters.
Dev's don't care about fixing / balancing the game they chose to add more content / new features / chars before fixing the game itself, which after playing for a while and seeing all the bugs most quit due to them not being fixed.
Game has a great concept but unfortunately is not being worked on the way it should.

Used to really like this game as I saw a lot of potential in it. Sadly devs do not care about the game and the many bugs it has. Rather then fixing the bugs they tend to make new chars and **** the game up with silly new arts and a new nonsense wh system. But ye devs tend to do what they want and big cheaters get away because they carry the mods. It's all ****ed up.

Pretty crappy move on the developer's side where they decided to add loot boxes.
    Pay to win loot boxes
So I'd say avoid the game unless you are willing to: pay for the game, pay for the DLC, pay for the loot boxes.

It has some good ideas, but the execution is flawed. The game ends up really, really grindy. There's multiple zones of 5 levels each and once you get to a zone you can continue from there, but there's no point in doing so cus you need to re-run the prior zones to have enough relics to proceed.

The classes are decently fleshed out but horribly balanced. A couple are extremely easy and many are just plain bad. Also too many passive abilities on many of the classes, making the gameplay kind of dull.

Finally there are a lot of bugs. You can get stuck behind objects, enemies can get knocked to areas out of play so you can't loot them, levels reset if you go inside dungeons and you can do multiple boss fights (this might be intentional but seems weird) and the higher difficulties don't unlock correctly. That's the few I found. I also couldn't get the multiplayer to work at all.

Overall I beat the game once on the Viking character and it was some mindless fun, took about 6 hours, but I won't be playing this again. Still it goes on sale for like $2 quite often so you can't really go wrong purchasing it, but it's not that much fun.

The grind really gets on your nerves after a while. But the real issue is that the developer, Elias Viglione, tweets about murdering minorities and says all of his "investments," including this game, are going towards his "life goal" of "murdering as many as possible."

I mean what the hell have they thought as they made this system up and the most things I hate in this game is the 1 shot mechanic. You get 1 shot by alsmost EVERYTHING in this game. Other people who are using exploits, cheats what ever are running wormhole lvl 3000 and I get one shotted in Wormhole 30+ with full armore build. The balance of this game is still a laughable joke. Awesome game with a lot of replay-ability. Reminds me of binding of Issac with a medieval style and a little more depth of game-play. Clunky, uninspired, repetitive, these are just a few words I associate with Hero Siege. A combination of Diablo, Gauntlet and The Binding of Isaac, Hero Siege doesn't do anything new and what it does do is poorly implemented and boring.

To add insult to injury they have additional character classes in game that cost around $2.00 each to unlock. If they are anything like the other

As much as I wanted to love this game, I couldn't. The UI is overwhelming with too many features and there are features that don't need to be there and end up making the game feel rough. There are two currencies: gold, which I couldn't figure out how to spend, and crystals, which are hard to obtain and only used for aesthetics. I honestly thought that it was a microtransaction game.

The game tries very hard to be so many things but ends up falling on its face and feels clunky because of it. It doesn't feel like it received enough polish and I blame the devs for that. The premise was great but the execution of the game felt clunky and the game got too easy before I got anywhere.
The only redeeming feature is the replayability and hard core mode.

This game has been absolutely amazing so far. Its similar to Binding of Isaac but with a more DnD sort of feel to the game. The game gives you a wide variety of characters which with their own abilities, a simplistic two currency system, and numerous areas that you can explore and conquer. I recommend that you give this game a try!

I played an older version of Hero Siege that I got from the humble store, and thuroughly enjoyed its blend of arcade action and ARPG character progression, and roguelike item and enemy generation. While it smacks strongly of a cellphone game, it is generally of a superior quality to those games and is easily played in a window, making it a good break-taking game from more serious titles. It has the potential for immense challenge but can be comfortably played at one's own pace. However, the DRM-free version of the game was never updated post-release and upon installing the Steam version I was surprised with a very different and much more aggressively challenging experience, with more playable classes and a handful of paid DLCs. Surprisingly my character saves carried over from the non-steam version, but I was unable to make much headway in the levels regardless. I can still recommend the game, especially in light of its very low price. Expand

It is said to be roguelike but doesn’t roguelike mean turn-based? Hero Siege is not turn-based, quite the opposite, it is a fast-paced game. There are some simple RPG elements; you level up when you earn enough experience killing monsters, you gain talent/ability points and spend them however you like when you level up, you can carry an item and you can buy something from hidden shops. It is just the way I like in such a game. I would define Hero Siege as hack and slash.

From bad controls, disgusting UI, to some questionnable design decisions; Hero Siege is a punishing pixel graphics dungeon crawler that would give a significant portion of its players a hard time trying to love it. Sure, it's fun when you barely have any other options. It is ridiculously cheap on sale though so if you're interested in these kind of games then go ahead and have a look.

If you want something to play that'll pass the time or crave a game with the classic RPG feeling to it, then Hero Siege is the perfect game for you. It's, in my opinion, a fantastic little gem of a game. It's, in my opinion, a fantastic little gem of a game. Gameplay wise it feels as though the developer stuffed Diablo’s more reserved brother into a blender with The Binding of Issac, and added in a pinch of Killing Floor for good measure. In more sensible terms, it’s got a great number of rogue-like and RPG elements to it. There are a number of different levels, ranging from forests to snowy tundras, deserts and many more. At the end of each of these levels you can collect random pieces of loot, or relics as they’re called, which grant you varying stats and abilities. These relics come in four different flavours; weapon enhancing ones, which, as the name suggests, enhances your weapon giving it extra powers. For example an item called the Basilisk's Tooth makes it so that you have a 2% chance to turn enemies to stone. There are also passive relics as well, which improve your character’s skills. One example is the Cactus, which periodically spawns a cactus on the nearest enemy. The third relic type is active, which, after pressing the use key, will activate the effect of the relic. The Candy Crusher, one example of an active relic, launches candy in a ring around the player that explodes on landing. And the last relic type is orbiting, which float around the player and help during fights. One example is the Almighty Fedora which rapidly shoots projectiles.
All these and many more can be obtained by progressing through the game, and surviving the large waves of enemies the game throws at you.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Talking about enemies, there are a large number of different types. Ranging from axe throwing skeletons to towering yeti-like beasts. Also there are several “elite” type enemies that have particular skills that happen once they die. For example creating a large laser that spins in a circle or an X shaped explosion, which both appear where the “elite” was slain.
There are also a number of RPG elements in the game too. For one, there are unique skill trees for each class, providing varying passive and active abilities, depending on which class you choose out of the possible seven, or ten (depending on whether you own the DLC). They also all have their own sort of personalities and quotes as well.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Graphically the game looks a lot like your typical indie, rogue-like affair. But it fits nicely. The characters are easily distinguishable from each other and the varying levels all look pixel pretty with their individual themes and settings.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall the game feels enjoyable to play. The classes and their skills vary enough for the game to be replayed time and time again. Not to mention the seemingly endless number of experience levels you can rack up on a single class. The enemies vary in difficultly, depending on the level, and the boss battles, for the most part, feel fairly satisfying once they eventually kick the bucket.
To Conclude, I’d say that Hero Siege is worth a play, whether it’s a rogue-like or an RPG you're after, or just a quick bit of fun. It’s a satisfying game to play and well worth a go. Good Day

The mixture of dungeon crawler, hunt for loot and dualstick action works surprisingly well, eventually you don’t think about the mobile roots anymore. But towards the end the weak balancing takes a lot of the fun away.
