    The RNG in this game can either benefit you or screw you over. If the latter you may as well just quit because you aren't going to be able to do anything. Actually the opposite of fun when that happens. Super overrated.

    It is as good as they say. Has high replay and encourages experimentation and new tactics. It will also probably get you reading up on Greek history.

    definitely for few to finish (I didn't make it myself), but the experience of always wanting more from Hades and for all it has to offer is what makes it not just another game, but one of the best of the decade.

    Fun, but not really for me. My friends loved it and kept raving about it but the core gameplay loop never really grabbed me. It's well made with wonderful voice acting and surprising twists and turns as you move through the areas, so worth a try if the concept appeals!

    The gameplay is a flawed mess. In short, it consists of playing through the same 3 stages with same 3 bosses where you will repeat the same combo that is the most powerful for your current build while spamming the dodge button.     The dialog also starts to repeat quite quickly and you can figure out the loop behind it making the gods' talk with you feel quite superficial after few hours.

    If you want to play a great roguelite from 2020 with a much better overall design, just play Spelunky 2.    … Expand

    I can tell all the work and love and care put into this game. Unfortunately this just isn't my cup of tea. The amount of effort and polish put into everything is torrential. But it is a rouge lite and for me personally it is a bit repetitive for my liking. If you're into that type of game then you can't go wrong with Hades

    Good game for masochists. Peoples love pain or they have huge free time.
    This game has only 2-3 hours content, but you need to grind 20 hours.

    There is little justice to be made trying to review Hades in text form like this. The game's story, gameplay and music are so concise that you can't really explain it without experiencing yourself. Probably the best of it's genre and a must play overall.

    I haven't played such masterpiece for a long time. Especially in current gaming industry. The perfect balance of gameplay and atmospheric storyline. Everyone should try it!

    Typically overhyped game at least for me. At least the way of play doesn't distinct itself from Supergiant's previous games, and the narration even weaker than I've expected. Transistor still holds the beer as my No.1 Supergiant game.

    Still the best indie game. Because it has a charming art style, fast and fun hack and slash gameplay, cool story and soundtrack, and is challenging. 10/10 Masterpiece

    This is one of the best games I have played in a long time, and not just from indie pool of games. Hades has more worth, more charm and personality then most of the new AAA games. It is build with passion and because of that it is literally a work of art!

    This is one of the few games i gave max review score in my life.

    I basically don't understand why so many people love this terrible game! This game is so repeating and so exhausting to play! Every upgrading in this game seems so boring, as well as the story, the enemies, and the level design.
    So why do so many people love this game? Ah, I got it, because they are the ones who like repetitive works, and they want to live a boring life!

While the writing, voice acting, and general tone of the story are amazing. I am a Dusa (floating snake ball girl) stan, but its crazy seeing how everybody who is invested in this game has certain characters that really connect and make further progression seriouslyTo me, this is a perfect game. 60 hours in and the story and infinite tinkering run-to-run keeps me coming back for more. I don't think I'd still be playing if this had a bare bones, uninteresting, or just overly serious storyline.
    While story and narrative are important, its the non-stop action that keeps me coming back. Compared to other rogue-likes (in my experience: Enter the Gungeon), there is a far greater reward to getting back on the horse for another run after you fail. The gameplay is fair, but cheesable when the Olympians allow it, and while some weapons are generally "better", there is a great amount of exploration to find new and effective play styles.
    I've seen some reviews complain about being repetitive, but as you get further in more challenges and modifications do become available that mix it a decent amount. And to that note, I think the familiar nature of each run is more of a boon than a bad thing. By nature, rogue-likes are pretty repetitive, but some don't have any narrative to break up the monotony in the way Hades does.
    This is a definite top 10, probably top 5 game all-time that I've played for my tastes. Check it out, the reddit community is pretty hilarious once you get your feet wet too. Even if you don't want to invest 60+ hours like me, getting to the "end" gives you a great deal of fun and storyline.    … Expand

    As a Greek person, I am very grateful for this game and I love how it portrays Ancient Greece and Greek Mythology. I don't like the concept of Rogue-Like games, but Hades was very enjoyable from start to finish. The characters are the highlight of the game for sure, every character is very likeable, they all have their own personalities, and they really enhance the story of the game, whichAs a Greek person, I am very grateful for this game and I love how it portrays Ancient Greece and Greek Mythology.     Hades is one of the best games I've played in the past few years. The artists who created the world and it's characters did an amazing job with the presentation. Visually, the game is stunning with it's unique art style that looks somewhat like a cross between a comic-book Diablo with a hint of anime influence.

    Do you know what I'm going to do after writing this review? Play Hades again - for fun. It's just so damn good. Maybe I'll be able to escape hell, maybe not, but I'll be happy to try again.

    As with previous titles from Supergiant Games, Hades features stellar artwork and music, masterfully creating a world of Greek mythology. The fast-paced action feels great, and the roguelike elements create a synergy with the game’s story, resulting in a truly addictive experience.

    Hades is a roguelike action RPG developed and published by Supergiant Games. It set a new bar for roguelike games with amazing visuals, character development, and storyline. Hades does have a few minor issues that plague most roguelikes. But these don’t impact the overall experience of an amazingly great game.
