This game is just a pain in the ass. This Tower-System is really annoying, the hardest challenge in this game is to find an opponent to fight without having a mental breakdown

Can't support companies that backstab the fans for cookie points on Twitter. Congratulations to ArcSystemWorks for dividing their community. 343i and Activision-Blizzard should take notes.

The decision to retroactively make Bridget trans is absolutely baffling - as a gay man, disappointing to lose representation

This fighter had a chance but missed it. The combat system shifted in the wrong direction and especially when the previous parts were really top. Street fighter 5 game went to stone all when it came out of only 16 game characters and here no one minds that there are only 15 of them, which is absolutely ridiculous. Very disappointing and of course without crossplay support for the PC, which in translation means that in a few months it will not be possible to play online due to lack of players. Expand

Wtf is this game. Story is just a movie / cutscene collection? Designs are nice and crazy. Graphics are cool. Controls are ??.

strive is easy to start, stylish, and have a lot of ppl playing, but going deeper is full of flaws on a base level (big damage and simple blockstrings in a game where defensive options are rather limited, RC that basically eliminates risk of a failed attack, sometimes you feel like playing on 11f rollback and game telling you its only 2f , UI isnt greatest etc) its basically party gamestrive is easy to start, stylish, and have a lot of ppl playing, but going deeper is full of flaws on a base level (big damage and simple blockstrings in a game where defensive options are rather limited, RC that basically eliminates risk of a failed attack, sometimes you feel like playing on 11f rollback and game telling you its only 2f , UI isnt greatest etc) its basically party game where char with bigger HP is reigning supreme ( more chances to get in or build resources, and when you can kill opponent in 2 combos - game is becoming predictable WERY fast)

GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- is a great fighting game and a great sequel to an old franchise which successfully caters to both genre veterans and newcomers. It is a bit on the expensive side, but the gameplay, art, and music all justify it.

Each fighter is very unique, so, even though there is a good tutorial, it will take a long time before you’ll learn how to fight properly. Still, if you have even a slightest interest in Japanese fighting games – you absolutely have to check out Strive. [Issue#254, p.56]

In summary, Guilty Gear Strive is an excellent evolution of a series that’s always provided players with a unique and interesting approach to weapons-based combat, and now it’s slightly less impenetrable for newcomers. It’s got room to grow, but it’s a stylish, standout fighter whose strengths absolutely outnumber its flaws.
