Look at this! A trash-child full of pastgen! I paid for it my money and i got a very-very bad optimized "game". It's similar to console edition. Sad to see it. Another one fail, Rockstar, after PC-version of GTA4. The story will never ends.

I was going to rate this zero because of the lack of mods, in what is supposed to be the mod-able version but instead I will give it a 1, as it does allow the use of mouse and keyboard, so... there's that.

Stock Market/ no money cheat. I'm actually kind of glad for this because I was LOOKING for the money cheat and we'll get to why in a sec.

Trevor! (lol) The characterization was tired from the start with the "Homey" black guys (the ONLY black guys we ever get to see in pretty much ANY [game/movie/THING!]) Trevor really got me interested again. Michael's character was all right but got stale in a hurry.

The missions are a lot more cinematic, graphics are fantastic and the city seems so much more alive, though this is the hardest I think I've heard my GTX760 work since I bought it. Heh.

Now... as I said, I caught myself looking for the money cheat pretty early. First because I was tired of Michael and Homey and second because after running the city outside of the story I realized that, despite all of the improvements, the graphics, the new functionality, the new cars and whatnot...despite all of it... IT WAS THE SAME GAME!!! All you can really do when not following the story is happy slap civilians, steal their cars and take their money.

It's GTA: Return to San Andreas.

Also, I'm from L.A. and the work they did on the city is excellent. It really feels like Los Angeles but the way they manage it is modelling parts of the city almost exactly, putting all the models in a box, shaking it, dumping it on the table and connecting them all as they fall. It's grating. You can't tell which direction you're going but you recognize all the landmarks. It really does get tiresome. If you're not from L.A. it's not a problem.

Any score lower than 4 and higher than 7 is bs coming from anyone who's played the previous GTA installments (3 - San Andreas). Someone new to GTA should be thrilled but there shouldn't be anywhere near as many user-rated 10s.

Well, I really like GTA games. I also liked this one. But everyone says that it's a great game. I don't really see anything so great about this. There are many Open world games. Whatever, This is not even a bad game. It has a great amount of fun and good graphics. But it's story is a stupid. 7/10 for it.

If you want to pay 60 dollars for something that just MAYBE will work then go ahead. Im disappointed they release something that havent been properly tested enough. And the lack of support rockstar is giving, and still no fix patch 3 days after launch? and i think the price for the game is low value, its still gta v not 6 or something..

The online portion is well done and fairly innovative.

The single player game is more of the same with somewhat arbitrary mission failed bs. If you like this type of thing, great. Personally, I found Saints Row 3/4 much more forgiving, flexible, and fun in regard to mission structure. Obviously, ymmv. This is the slowest downloading game I have ever had this misfortune to buy,

The games lobby-system is really bad, considering that friends who joined your matches are constantly placed in different sessions after playing one match.

The first heist preparation mission always ends in a white screen error, even if replayed.

Mods are not supported and singleplayer-modifications will lead to a ban in GTA Online.

In contrast to that the singleplayer experience and gameplay feeling overall seem to be good.

All I can say is simply meh. It's not the best game I've ever played, not the worst. It's graphics look horrible on Ultra, it plays more or less fine, but it's just not an amazing game. The only reason I can see really reccomendin it is because it's *supposedly* 40 hours long and the soundtrack is good.

I'm an old gamer that loved the serie of GTA since its beggining, tho, we all got admit its decline: since San Andreas, Rockstar has been unable to make an entertaining game in the long run: yes, this game becomes boring after a while, as the previous one.

Even those games by Ubisoft on uPlay can at least install and boot up properly on my PC with i7-4710MQ and GTX 860M.

Steam and RockStar are now pointing fingers at each other for this travesty. I've played this game on the Xbox 360 years ago so my expectations were very high for this PC version. Games don't deserve good reviews if there are issues with merely installing the game.

Grand Theft Auto V

One of the things I really liked about San Andreas was the light hearted humour without being too brash, but still daring enough to be funny, where as GTA V is filled with characters and scenarios that are just plain depressing. Franklin is just a boring CJ 2.0 and Trevor has apparently been directly lifted from Kane & Lynch, not hard to figure out which one. You can call me cynical if you like, but for a game made in 2013, or even by Rockstar's own lofty standards, it is a pretty weak attempt of a game, sorely lacking in true innovation or particularly clever writing...it is just a lazy piece of software that depended on selling in droves purely by names sake.

    I still love GTA3-San Andreas

The story is decent, nothing special. Gameplay is boring, you mostly drive around and sometimes shoot things and repeat terrible minigames.

I suppose kids are enthralled because this game is "like real life", so they find it good, but really, as a game it is mediocre.

It gets boring fast, and won't keep your interest for long. Shooting mechanics are meh, driving is meh and unrealistic. There is nothing to accomplish in this game. Online is bad and fool of cheaters.

In the end, if you are not bored to death with the GTA formula, it is worth a playthrough, but seriously, 96 on metacritic? No way, this is a 7-8 game at most. I give it a 0 to balance the bribes.

My last review of this was less than gleaming. Things have improved significantly and appear to be continuing to improve especially with the latest upcoming update which will be rolling out 15th september 2015.

    The Pros:

    Great graphics.
    Great music.
Still capable of using own music with "built-in" radio station suitably called "Self Radio"
(This is not rocket science, but some people appear to have trouble using it...I dunno why)
Fairly decent single player campaign/story mode with a feasible, somewhat realistic plot (for a GTA game at least).
Playing through the campaign with three separate characters as opposed to just one throughout adds a fresh twist to the game and clearly seems to have allowed for a greater level of plot to be created.
Moddable. It's entirely moddable. The down side of that is that already some dumbass clowns have already tried to infect people's computers with nasties aplenty - one such mod springing to mind is the angry planes mod - which after having been uploaded, stayed uploaded for some time until it came to various people's attention that it needed taking down pronto.
The other downside of modding GTA is if you're caught using mods on GTA V whilst online, you do run the risk of getting banned.
    Potential for great multiplayer experiences.

    Cons:

Only two for steam users - not sure about the retail version though.
    1. Loading times take the piss. That is, to some extent I imagine, likely to change with the aforementioned update due to roll out in a few day's time. Seamless, load-free action. The impression I'm given from that and what I've seen is that if you see something you want to take part in, you just get in there and get on with it, as opposed to the current 'choose a job' wait for the job to load, finish the job, rate the job, load another job, etc ad nauseum. This is going to be a massive update and I really hope it works.
    2. For some reason, Rockstar don't appear to be happy with only having to 'activate' the game once through online means, preferring that if you're going to use the game you paid good money for, having you to wait for it to get 'activated' at launch, every. Flippin'. Time.
    Annoying as hell.
    3. As much as there is a potential for great multiplayer experiences with this game, as you can imagine there's also a potential to come across some pretty stupid wankers. By and large, the community seems to be fairly decent enough, with only a few children ruining it for everyone else.

GTA for the PC has come along very well and looks to be continuing to improve effectively. If only they would get rid of the blasted long intros and the absolutely ridiculous activation process - when surely random activation checks would be better than on a per launch basis.

I don't, and I just beat the game last week), far too low difficulty (just try again if you failed), lame map design (there are only 2 parts: one part consist of the city, another part are hills, desert and a bay. I only went to Paleto Bay 2 times for mission purpose), lame music (can't blame Rockstar though), lame content (although better than IV, you still get bored very fast), lame atmosphere (I feel disconnected to the game - it is like watching a movie instead of playing as the characters in the game world). Not to mention the game was so bug ridden upon release I had to wait until update 5 to be able to play the game without problems. The only good thing about this game is graphics, that's all. Don't say anything about Online. Even Online has no content. It has only heists and races.
When is Rockstar going back to make era games? That's what made GTA VC and SA so good. You feel like you are in another world. In GTA IV and V they are both set in modern times, so they have lame stories (not about epic war between mafia and gangs but always about boring FIB and IAA) and lame atmosphere (game set in the world we are living in is just not ideal, it's like watching an animation movie).
I am looking forward to another GTA set in the classic Hollywood era like 50s San Francisco depicted in Vertigo (1958).

    1. The loading times in multiplayer are a constant annoyance.
    2. The visuals are dated compared to a game like watch dogs and honestly they require way too much horsepower to run for the framerate to get as low as it does. Watch dogs maxed out gets 80-100 fps maxed out, This game? I've seen it go as low as 25 on a gtx 980 in some areas.
    3. Heist missions online are very fun however replaying them isn't, as 90% of my time is worrying about other people doing their jobs correctly rather than actually enjoying the mission itself.
    4. First person mode was definitely overrated and I find myself constantly switching back to the 3rd person mode instead. It just doesn't feel fluid and even with the FoV setting maxed out it feels wonky and limiting, the weapon position itself feels off as well.
    5. The pc helicopter controls are as bad as gta 4. The design wasn't improved at all.
    6. Still way too many buildings that have no interiors. It really kills immersion for me in this world when 98% of the buildings and houses you see around you cannot be accessed. I was really hoping to be able to break into houses or something this time around to do robbery jobs or something like that but sadly that isn't an option at all. Would have been a great side-activity for online as well. The games world itself just feels too limited to the street which was the same problem GTA 4 had. You see all these great looking buildings and houses and can't access any of it.

Maybe someone can do a mod that opens up some of these houses/buildings. I realize that its a lot of work doing interiors, especially interiors with multiple levels, but still it shouldn't have been THIS restricted like gta 4 was and they could have enhanced it further over gta 4 by adding some side-activity to go along with it like robbery jobs.

I have mixed feelings about this title. The first week was a troubleshooting hell.
    The bad things first:

Constant freezes, disconnects, online progress dissappeared randomly and so on. Every time I got one bug fixed, another one popped up. The first week GTA was absolutely unplayable. After two patches most of that is gone for me. The servers are still overloaded though. Sometimes so much, that I cant even start single player. And the cloud service is very bugged as well and make saved cars dissappear randomly. May not sound too bad, but if you bought an expensive car, you loose severeal days of playing time in an instant, which is rather frustrating.
The support took looong to reply to my crashes, but was helpful and polite, once they did.
Minor things that are annoying are the typical port issues. You cant change the keybinding for the controller. And you cant put healing items and body armor on hotkeys. You have to scroll through 3 menus to do that, which is a pain in the ass in the middle of a firefight. It also doesnt seem to memorize my weapon layout. Have to reset it every time I start the game...
If it weren't for those issues, I'd easily rate this an 8. I had some hilarious moments in online mode. I had a blast stealing a jet from the military base and bringing it downtown to wreak havoc.
The coop missions become repetitive after a while, but the heists are insanely good. I wish they had less missions, but done with the passion that they put into those heists. If you enjoyed previous GTA titles and always wanted an online mode thats actually playing its cards right, then this game might be exactly what you waited for. It's a gamble though, if it runs for you. No matter if you have a high end pc or not.

Days after release, Rockstar not only could not patch the game for customers who bought it for muxless laptops - which are the most common variety of gaming laptops today - but insulted customers who opened tickets on the matter attempting to find a solution.

Could not play, felt cheated out of my money & slapped in the face by their CS department.

Single player modding. The moment Rockstar says they've fixed their system and single player mods are good to go without risk of bans (even if they still wont officially support them) and it turns out to be true I will happily re-rate the game much higher (8-9), that's how important modding is to me.

It doesn't seem to matter if you're playing single player or actually cheating online, many people are reporting bans for such simple things as entirely cosmetic mods. They seem to be using GTA:Online as an excuse to block all modding. It's really pathetic though that such a giant in the industry can't seem to limit their anti-cheating measures to only focus online when much smaller companies do it regularly.

This game has such massive potential for great user generated content but here we sit with it being crushed in favor of a notably lackluster online experience and Shark Cards (microtransactions for GTA:O in-game cash). Due to the number of people that bought the game it's modding community could even outshine Skyrim's once tools are created/released. They don't have to support single player modding, but the least they could do would be to not actively try to stop it. We all agree that online cheaters need to be dealt with, but they really need to leave single player to the players.

    ---------------------

The gun play is good, though the sounds are a tad stale sounding. Aiming is simple and fast, first person aiming is almost like a big name FPS. There are many guns to choose from and unlike GTA IV you can carry every last one all at once.

Driving feels nice and smooth. Weaving through traffic in your awesome sports car is fantastic. Speeds seem to be limited unfortunately so your in-game version of the Bugatti Veyron wont even break 200. Though that may be due to the fact that many PCs won't be able to render the world fast enough to keep up with the fastest cars at their real world counterpart's top speeds. First person driving is great but definitely needs seat adjustment options.

The AI can be incredibly dimwitted sometimes. I've had AI refuse to engage something trying to kill them, AI drivers consistently trying to drive into me as I go down the road, run into the open and get slaughtered when there is plenty of available cover, all sorts of things. Friendly AIs seem to have an aversion to shooting more than 2-3 shots in as many seconds when in vehicles, especially when they're on a turret gun.

The AI can have it's smart moments too. Hostile AIs seem to be smarter than friendly AIs. They'll suppress you, they'll use cover often, and they'll try to flank you when they can. They will also open up on you any time they can shoot.

Locking missiles are worthless against AI but nearly impossible to avoid for players. I've shot every last locking missile in my inventory at a slowly circling AI prop plane, I've shot numerous missiles at helicopters ad ground vehicles from aircraft. They almost always miss unless I get lucky. I've been shot at while in a far superior aircraft (a fighter jet) with guided missiles countless times by AIs as well as being shot at by players with locking missile launchers. They are relentless and EXTREMELY hard to dodge, this is coming from a guy who plays flight sims all the time. Where missiles fired at AI (even with full lock) seem to stop tracking when they get close enough to an AI missiles fired at you turn better, seem to be faster, and never give up trying to hit you. This is just flat unacceptable as far as I'm concerned. Missiles need to be uniform against all targets AI or Player.

The story is the same one you've probably played already on 360/PS3. Retired bank robber, crazy meth dealer, and laid back gangbanger team up for epic heisting action in strangereal LA. It's a fun story but desperately needed more actual heists and content. I feel like it suffered due to an obvious shift of focus to GTA:O. There is also plenty of content locked in GTA:O that needs to be added to the story mode including clothes, vehicles, and all sorts of other goodies. The latest content releases all seem to have favored GTA:O completely excluding single player as well. If Rockstar would patch all that content into single player as well it would be amazing. Another unfortunate thing is your GTA:O character who is in fact stored locally on your computer cannot be used as a heist crew member even though GTA:O now has it's own heists, you character interacts with many of the main characters including directly working for Trevor and Lester in "jobs", and takes place before the main story.

GTA:O is a lackluster disappointment to me. Boring grindfest or you're getting attacked by 9 year olds screaming obscenities on their mic or text chat. Jobs are fun but repetitive. No passive lobbies either. Everything is super expensive in stores.

Seriously, listen to Franklin and Lamar talk to each other... then imagine the middle-class white guy that was sitting in his office writing that dialogue. The satire is obvious, thin and lacking purpose or direction which leaves it strictly in cliche territory. Consequently, the single player campaign is appealing on the level of infantile humour and reassuringly un-challenging characterisation.

The game has been well ported from the consoles. The graphics look great and it runs well on most mid-range systems. The keyboard and mouse controls are clunky. Driving, flying and just moving in general are significantly better with a controller (which is well supported) but shooting with a mouse is profoundly easier. Consequently, you're better off chopping and changing between both control systems, which isn't ideal.

The game takes the better part of 10 minutes to initially load on my system (i7, 16gb RAM, AMD 7970), which is fine if you're playing single player, as there is little to no loading during gameplay. However, GTA Online seems to have a new loading screen every other minute.

GTA Online has its usual shenanigans which can eat up an hour or two if you're playing with friends. Playing with random players is pointless as more often than not they'll run you over half way through a mission 'for teh lulz'. On that note, turning off voice chat is recommended. And this is where the game really falls down. If you don't have at least 4 friends online to play with, then you're forced to play with randoms (Heists, for example, don't have a single player option and very few missions do, too). Hence, the Heists experience is 50% being trolled, 45% being frustrated and 5% shutting down GTA.

Unless you have a bunch of friends to play with at all times, or you really, really love the GTA franchise or you just like trolling people - I wouldn't recommend GTA V.

I regret buying it at all, tbh.

Lets skip those problems that wont even let you to launch the game. Its a pretty common issue, but whatever, lets say you made a lot of fixes to actually launch the game. Lets pretend you are lucky enough and didnt get HDD related bug, which is really common. Lets pretend you were also lucky enough to not catch fps related bugs and got that sweet 60 fps. Wanna know whats gonna happen for ya after all that stuff and gigabytes of fixes? 3 hours of gameplay.
Yep, in 3 hours you will reach your first heist and "throwing weapons bug". Not going to explain it in details, but this will actually make you not able to progress in story anymore.
So, you are going to spend an evening which you couldve spend on game, on googling 3rd party fixes for this. Yep, R* doesnt care at all, they've already sold it to you. You ll find a fix which literally makes you not using one of the core functions of the game forever.

You ll get another 2 hours of gameplay, and then - BAM! Another heist. New series of bugs. Another evening spent on googling, fix found on crack developers site(Yep, fix for legit steam version of game found on crack makers site). 1 more hour of gameplay, yay!

Aaaand 3rd heist. Which will have a new combo of bugs, weapon related and character switch related. Ive done this heist like 20 times, trying every fix possible, none of them worked(altho, ppl get thru it). This was the point where i draw my line. Deleted the game and going to ask for refund.

Oh, and dont forget that iFruit wasnt even ported for pc version of the game.
So, what do we have? A good looking benchmark(in theory there is a gameplay, but you cant access it coz of **** of bugs), multyplayer full of cheaters (there is no antcheat at all. Like literally, you can hack it online using artmoney! Dont forget about microtransactions!)

    5. The Train can't be stolen although there's a mission where your able to hijack and control it WTF. That's a step back from san andreas.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What a wasted opportunity.

First - The open world sandbox aspect is amazing. So much potential, tons of cool stuff to that. So many things you can do and interact with. Biggest positive of the game and it's a great one.

However, the plot goes to crap pretty quickly. They introduce a raging sociopath that everyone should have just shot in the back of the head in the first scene but, inexplicably, doesn't. They've got this unskippable torture scene, where you've got an interactive min-game torturing someone. Every other mission in the game can be skipped save that one, because... I dunno, some sort of faux moralizaing? It is also 100% pointless to the story. Does nothing, accomplishes nothing, nobody talks about it again, it's irrelevant save from trying to create 'shock' value. The whole SP campaign just gets worse from there. Not in terms of being 'too violent'. It's not about violence, just weak story revolving around everyone being total idiots and one guy being super insane unstoppable/unquestionable Mary Sue Kill Anyone While Being Indestructible nutbar *that you have to play*. It's like being forced to play some My Little Pony right in the middle of a GTA game. Jarring, out of place and stupid.

Online is broken. Full of hacks and cheaters. Only the most meager attempt to deal with it. Heists are alright if you've got friends to play it with regularly but everything else about online is pretty completely broken.

Crazy shoddy business practices. Games on Steam, right? So right before the Steam Summer Sale they jack the price up from $60 to $80, then say it's *on sale* for $60, throwing in a pretend money card (fake money you can only use online) to say it's a 'deal'. You can't buy the game otherwise. Oh, and if you did buy it? NON REFUNDABLE BECAUSE THEY GAVE YOU PRETEND MONEY.

Borked online, lying BS during steam summer sale and the most shallow SP experience of the series. Painful as it's set against the best open world environment Rockstar has ever done.

Get Skyrim and Payday 2 instead. Better open world in Skyrim and Payday 2 is 10x better for online heists.

Depressing showing by Rockstar. End of the day, it was a complete sellout, trading 'meaningless shock value' for rich characters and dishonest business practices for a good product worth the money.

Woulda been a 9/10 if not for too frequent crashes + hackers destroying the online experience. If Rockstar fixes online mode I will change this score, but for now I regret getting it as my weekend gaming is being destroyed by griefers.

I am absolutely blown away by GTAV. This is seriously the worst GTA game I've ever played. I waited some 18 months for a PC release for this piece of garbage? They shouldn't call it Grand Theft Auto. They should call it Grand PURCHASE Auto.

I am absolutely blown away by GTAV. This is seriously the worst GTA game I've ever played. I waited some 18 months for a PC release for this piece of garbage? They shouldn't call it Grand Theft Auto. They should call it Grand PURCHASE Auto.

If you want to read about the positives to GTAV please see one of the cheerleading gaming "journalism" reviews of it that completely ignore its flaws. Here I'm going to point out those flaws.

    1) GTAV expects you to purchase everything with in-game money. Don't have enough in-game money? Rockstar will be happy to sell you some for real money! You seriously cannot just go up to a good or government vehicle and steal it in a game called Grand Theft Auto. Rockstar will not allow you to store it in your garage. You must purchase it. Yes, you must purchase cars in a game called Grand Theft Auto in which focuses on criminal activity. Have the developers ever even played a GTA game before? Hell, you have to purchase tanks too. You cannot simply steal one. That used to be a huge accomplishment in previous titles. It's impossible here.

    2) The online portion is progression-gated. When you start out the city is a literal ghost town and you're expected to do the same races OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. Then the game gradually unlocks new events. You'll need to repeat them each a hundred times in order to accumulate the RP necessary to rank up. As you rank up things start spawning in the city that should have been there from the beginning and actually appear commonly in the single player mode. Go to the airport in online mode and note the complete and total absence of planes at the AIRPORT. You have to rank up just to make a handful of them appear. Ranking will take years if you're someone with a job. It's clearly designed specifically for the no-lifers or children who need to be treated like donkeys chasing carrots on a stick.

    3) Excessive realism comes at the cost of fun. Did you know you have to buy car insurance in this game in multiplayer? Planes don't come with parachutes. Want to steal something from the military base in single player -- not going to happen! Have fun shopping for real estate to buy or spending hundreds of thousands of in-game dollars on businesses that pay you only 1% of what you spent on them maybe once a real life week.

    4) Rockstar is very mod-unfriendly. They will ban you from the game you purchased without refund even if you're trying to privately have fun with your friends. They make zero attempt to distinguish between people screwing around amongst themselves and those maliciously ruining the experience for others. Can't spend a couple hundred thousand or a couple million in fair cheat-detection, Rockstar? Spent your billions already? This is beyond sad. The community is continuing to try and fix the mess that is GTAV to actually make it fun again, yet Rockstar has been trying to thwart them with every update.

    5) GTA has been obsoleted by other entrants in the open world genre. Who needs a hyper-realistic, un-fun when we can choose from so many other options? I really thought that Vice City and San Andreas were awesomely fun games. It seems GTA has gone downhill and let Saints Row and Just Cause supersede them.

I'm honestly really disappointed in this entry in the franchise. Yes, the heists are nice both in single player and multiplayer. Yes the graphics are good. No, the game is not fun. No, the game puts realism in front of having fun. No, the game is not for people who have other things to do than play it every waking moment. GTAV had so much potential. Save yourself money and don't buy this 18 month-late game.

This is my last GTA game. There are far better choices out there now.

The original download for it took 4 days. When it is downloading/patching your internet will be completely incapacitated, I could barely open a browser page. This has not ever been the case with any other downloads. After it was downloaded rockstars social club messed up and kept getting an error, this error took my own work in the files, uninstalling, reinstalling, repairing. Probably 3 hours of work to get it to run. After I did get it to run I thought it was pretty awesome, graphics looked great and ran at 60+ fps. For about 5 minutes, it was worth it. Then I started crashing. I have not been able to play this for longer then 10 minutes without it crashing, and to get it to work I have to edit about 20 files in the games directory. This poor rating isn't as much for the game as it is for Rockstars horrible work on this PC version. These issues haven't just been me, they've been flooding the forums, and they haven't even addressed it at all besides to tell you to uninstall/reinstall the game(which doesn't work) I would definitely hold off on this game for a few months, there's a very good chance you won't be able to play it until then anyway. Game prevents you from playing single player game unless you log in. Which is annoying because it has rules that make it hard to create secure passwords. So, I get logged out, and have to spend time playing this game by entering Captchas.

When captchas are a part of your game, you have a bad game.

For example someone can add object to your character so u cant do anything (it is hilarious for a moment i admit), loading times - if u try to join other session (to join survival, heist etc) and it is full and u cant join it you not go back to your open session, you need to wait to load new session (thats why i moved game to SSD so it is not that much of a problem).

I could care less about how good their obnoxious graphics look, I want a game with a captivating story & good performance. Rockstar constantly sends out updates through Steam which only seems to make gameplay worse. It was very playable when it first came out, now it's very choppy and everything looks as if its running in slow motion. The game also has this high maintenance launcher that is separate from the actual game that hogs memory while you play in the background. Closing their launcher causes the game to randomly crash within 20 minutes. You can not play the game without a Rockstar account either and the game is constantly connected to the internet. You would think a huge game (over 60 GB) like this wouldn't need to rely on internet so much. Speaking of online, GTA V's online mode is infected with numerous cheaters using mods and other hacks to ruin the experience for you and Rockstar won't even address it. I have no idea what these almost daily updates are doing because if anything they are downgrading the game. Rockstar actually wants you to buy fake in game money to use online called shark cards on top of its outrageous $60 price tag. They even tried to scam customers on Steam during the summer sale with these shark cards to disguise that their sale wasn't really a sale. This game is definitely not worth it, I would have gotten a refund if I didn't respect this company for it's better titles like Bully, GTA San Andreas, or Red Dead Redemption. I don't plan on buying anymore games from this company any longer except maybe a sequel to Bully or RDR. This is the score they deserve for their slacking. They're lucky I didn't give them a 0. This game is only good to fanboys and graphic whores. Expand

Basically, Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC is an awesome game when it works and is playable, but when it isn't playable its a horrible broken mess that is completely unplayable. I'm heavily suspecting the game has several memory leak issues and those can take a long time to lock down and fix.

Once Rockstar can patch all these issues which prevent the game from running as intended, I'll re-write this review and most likely give it a 9 or 10/10 review provided they can fix the game and make it run properly.

This review comes after the PC version has been out for a few months now. The things that are good are the single player story, the visuals, the customization, the performance on a high-end rig. Things that are not so good are the bugs, the rampant cheating in multiplayer, and the dwindling online community.

At launch I would have given this a solid 9 out of 10. However, over time, more bugs have crept in. There are some FPS drops now even on a GTX 980TI. As I mentioned, the multiplayer cheats and hacks are out of control.

Overall, the negatives were minor detractors for me. The combined experience is fantastic. The unscripted mayhem that happens in multiplayer missions and heists is pure gold. I can easily recommend picking this one up at full price. If you see it on sale, just shut up and buy it :)

The game is fun and really solid in every way, the controls and playability are well implemented and responsive.
On the technical side, it has some really stunning and beautiful graphics and effects, the city looks gorgeous and the countryside, desert zones, woods, beaches, mountains, etc., are just amazing.
The sea is what impressed me the most, IMO it’s over the top, it feels very realistic and when you stand near the shore you feel video games will never be the same again if a virtual sea can be this overwhelming. It really feels this game is taking PC gaming to its limits, so if you have a solid rig to run it then you will find here one of the best looking and most technically impressive games for PC ever. Having a system capable of running this beast on ultra-settings will make you think that all your hardware is being put to the test and that your investment was totally worth it.
I’m very happy with this version, yes the PC version is awesome and everything is almost flawless.
As a good sandbox this open world has literally tons of things to do, it feels huge!
Coop is really fun and amazing, with lots of unlockable missions, races, heists, sports, shopping, activities, and a lot more to do, plus they keep adding more and more content.
The story mode is well developed and it has funny characters (in their own GTA way). The humor is satirical and politically incorrect (as it should be in a -rated M- GTA). At first I thought the idea of having 3 characters simultaneously was strange and probably not good, but when you play it you realize it works really well.
Gameplay wise, driving is well implemented, intuitive and feels natural, shooting, swimming, running and moving around are too. The game is cool as it is on 3d person already , but it adds the bonus of a 1st person experience, you can switch on the go and it’s really nice too. And with so many types of vehicles, ground, air and sea, and a lot of guns at your disposal, it never feels repetitive or boring. I love clothing and shopping, I have spent hours in the clothing stores, shopping is fun!
On the sound department, effects are stunning and I love the soundtrack! , a lot of GTA V songs now are part of my personal playlists.
In general a lot of attention was given to every little detail. This is basically a masterpiece and a perfect game, simply one of the very best games there are for PC. Justice has been served for PC gamers and the wait was very much worth. I absolutely love it.
So once again, if you don’t have it yet, what are you waiting for?, you should be playing it right now instead of being here reading this.
    See ya in Los Santos!

Various first person shooters: Weird physics and collision, no progression, more repetitive than APB

Just imagine if Wii Sports had a sluggish, sprawling open world between each minigame and that's basically what this is like.

Con el tiempo lo supe apreciar más pero sigue siendo sin duda el GTA mas flojo. 3 personajes y ninguno llega al nivel de cualquiera de las anteriores entregas

I know that rockstar has messed up this game way too many times and that they have and still are milking this game for money but I still won't ever get over how amazing, how polished, how unbelievable this game is. Sure it has flaws but let's also look at how much detail was put into this game. Just the physics, the mechanics, the graphics. Everything worked out so well. Most of my time with this game was spent on single player just because this game is so large that you can do so much with it. A caliber of this kind will not be reached by another company. Not this kind of game. Rockstar knows how to get it done and I can't wait to see what else they manage to pull off in the future. This game earned a perfect score. Expand

The only thing anybody cares about, what is different in the PC version, is the first person-mode. Well, does it work? Yes. With the controller,eh, the head is a little shaky, but nothing that would make the gameplay worse.

The PC version also makes the driving, WITHOUT A CONTROLLER, a pain. Using the WASD keys to drive is bad. If I want to move a few inches to the left, pressing W

The PC version also makes the driving, WITHOUT A CONTROLLER, a pain. Using the WASD keys to drive is bad. If I want to move a few inches to the left, pressing W makes it go crazy.

What I just said would have made this game into a 7/10. Why? If you cant drive, in a game where theres 3 ways of moving, walking, driving, flying.and where in order to fly, you needed to drive to the airport, then you would have a problem in your hands, BUT WAIT, you can plug in a controller, problem solved. :)

Aiming is also improved, since its easier with a mouse.
Also: NO PRE-GAME LOADING SCREENS! I mean yeah, you have to load when changing from the Story mode to GTA Online, but when you load up the game, there is no loading screen!
Only one complaint remains: Running is Caps Lock- if Im not mistaken, and Shift makes my GTA Online character stop and do some weird hand gestures, witch I cannot stop doing until the animation has stopped, it can incapacitate me from combat very easily.

Overall: Everything is divided. On the keyboard aiming is amazing but driving is bad, but on the controller, aiming is a little worse, but the driving is okay.

The game combines great game play consisting of third person and first person view, and action-packed missions, great radio stations and next-gen graphics perfectly. A huge map adds to the excellent open-world experience. Realistic first-person game play provides great satisfaction in action-packed missions. A must-play. This is a game, which one must literally play before he dies, if he

It's a perfect PC game if you have the hardware. Yes, getting to the actual game can be a pain because of the required downloads and the goofy Social Club launcher--but those are minor niggles. People giving this game a low score are losers who are trying to run it on their granddad's Pentium 200 laptop. Buy it.

Create amazing open world. Check. Insert lots of amusing detail. Check. Offer infinite opportunity. Check.

Royally **** it up with a suite of unlikable characters, negligable option to explore the world in the campaign, a **** campaign, rinse everyone for shark cards, ruin your own reputation. Check.

**** off. Blow it up your arse rockstar.

A PS3/360 era port with retrofitted PC features. Obviously looks better on PC than it can on any console version, but it isn't as well optimized as it could be (57% CPU and 52% GPU usage but would still dive in some areas), but the game itself is largely a cutscene disguised with some throwaway gameplay (you spend a lot of time driving around listening to characters chat). Story is hit and miss, I always hold these mob storylines up to "The Sopranos" now and it falls pretty short of that bar. Gameplay is heavy on the hand-holding, flying a plane with a keyboard is pretty stiff, use a controller for that if you have the option. Don't know what the point of letting the player customize the characters clothing or vehicles is, as during the story they're always wearing and driving whatever it is Rockstar wanted them to be at that time. Didn't encounter any bugs. Expand

The Story is awesome. Rockstar has put so much detail in the world and graphics are great. Online on the other hand is mediocre. For a short time it makes ton of fun. But after the heists and some random carnage it gets extremely boring, there is just not much left to do. - plus you get some dates with one of those many hackers

The game was fun for the first week but since rock star has put no effort in a solid anti cheat the multiplayer part is now unplayable not to mention the that this game somehow always places me in a Brazilian/Chinese server when I'm from Europe. Only positive thing I can say is that it runs ok, but what do you expect from a last-gen game.

This game have a lot of possibilities to play but it's nevertheless boring. Now I have 60 GB more data storage and wasted 45 €. Maybe this is a game for 90% of the people but not for me. And there is no normal lobby for friends. You need luck to join the same lobby.

We could not expect a better PC port PC for Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar North, offers right from day one a huge game in optimized, widely scalable, and high impact graphics and the video editor, although not so easy to use, is an enjoyable addition.
