At first everything completely worked, and the immersion factor lived up to this legendary hype. Somewhere in the middle though, apathy began to set in. By the end, missions felt shallow, dialog grating, and the narrative flimsy. Rockstar proved themselves utter masters of transcendent city building at the expense of everything else.

It's a great game. Fantastic story, great graphics, huge map, a bundle of fun. Ignore the usual idiots that do not understand the concept of a review or rating, these people would claim it's a perfect game except one little thing and all of a sudden the rating switches from a 10 to a 0.

Great game overall. Definitely better than any of the other Grand Theft Autos. The only big thing i would complain about is the driving. It has gottan ridiculously unrealistic. Too arcadeish for me.

I'm an old gamer that loved the serie of GTA since its beggining, tho, we all got admit its decline: since San Andreas, Rockstar has been unable to make an entertaining game in the long run: yes, this game becomes boring after a while, as the previous one.

Online; loading takes foreeeeever... Sometimes I feel like I'm loading more than playing.

If the online part is fixed, best game of 2015 already on PC.

it was very unstable and messy at release, and I was unable to even start the game until april 16th. 2 days after the release. even this made me dismantle my chair, I quickly realized how great and beautiful the game is after playing. not the best story ever, but decent storylines, and awsome online mode where you can just play around with your friends.

Fun game unfortunately ridiculed with bugs and performance issues, completed the single player on a high end rig and I can't count the number of times the game crashed.

Online at the moment is chaos, whilst it has plenty of fun activities and heists, there is a good amount of lag, frame rate drops and couple that with the loading times and matchmaking makes this game a real annoyance,

I'm giving it a 7 because despite the bugs, I actually enjoyed this game and occasionally enjoy the online, it is however unfair to give it a rating any higher.

Firstly, im a huge GTA fan.. Been playing non-stop since GTA 3, easily my favourite franchise of all time and Grand Theft Auto V didn't disappoint me in anything.

The world is huge, everything feels right, the physics, the animations, the graphics, the detail, the sounds.. Every little bit feels in the right place.

The characters are quite unique and have their own story that the game tells you in a great way, the transictionbetween every character is flawless and innovative.

The missions are extremely good, an easy 10, they're not rage inducing, they're extremely well designed, they barely have any flaws and the dialogue in missions is like it always was in GTA.. Amazing and mostly sarcastic funny.

The story is probably the best in the franchise, with a decent ammount of choices and lot of explanation given so you don't miss any detail.

The guns feel good, the world feels alive, the cars feel real, the NPC's feel alive and not for one second this game felt nothing less than a true masterpiece.. Easily the game of the century.

An easy 10/10.. Probably one of my few 10/10.. Probably the first one since GTA San Andreas. (And that tells you something)

About the PC Port.. Ye, it's simply quite amazing, the definite version of GTA V is on PC, either 60fps or 30fps, it won't matter.. The game is good both ways, it scales extremely well and has almost no issues. (Some small issues like some stuttering at the most) This game will also run in almost any PC, be it a cheap laptop or a old pc with a dual-core and a 9800gt or even a 5670.

I played at 1080p on a 560ti.. You can easily achieve 60fps in a 560ti at 1080.. That's how well optimized the game is.. At medium settings btw.

I am absolutely blown away by GTAV. This is seriously the worst GTA game I've ever played. I waited some 18 months for a PC release for this piece of garbage? They shouldn't call it Grand Theft Auto. They should call it Grand PURCHASE Auto.

I am absolutely blown away by GTAV. This is seriously the worst GTA game I've ever played. I waited some 18 months for a PC release for this piece of garbage? They shouldn't call it Grand Theft Auto. They should call it Grand PURCHASE Auto.

If you want to read about the positives to GTAV please see one of the cheerleading gaming "journalism" reviews of it that completely ignore its flaws. Here I'm going to point out those flaws.

    1) GTAV expects you to purchase everything with in-game money. Don't have enough in-game money? Rockstar will be happy to sell you some for real money! You seriously cannot just go up to a good or government vehicle and steal it in a game called Grand Theft Auto. Rockstar will not allow you to store it in your garage. You must purchase it. Yes, you must purchase cars in a game called Grand Theft Auto in which focuses on criminal activity. Have the developers ever even played a GTA game before? Hell, you have to purchase tanks too. You cannot simply steal one. That used to be a huge accomplishment in previous titles. It's impossible here.

    2) The online portion is progression-gated. When you start out the city is a literal ghost town and you're expected to do the same races OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. Then the game gradually unlocks new events. You'll need to repeat them each a hundred times in order to accumulate the RP necessary to rank up. As you rank up things start spawning in the city that should have been there from the beginning and actually appear commonly in the single player mode. Go to the airport in online mode and note the complete and total absence of planes at the AIRPORT. You have to rank up just to make a handful of them appear. Ranking will take years if you're someone with a job. It's clearly designed specifically for the no-lifers or children who need to be treated like donkeys chasing carrots on a stick.

    3) Excessive realism comes at the cost of fun. Did you know you have to buy car insurance in this game in multiplayer? Planes don't come with parachutes. Want to steal something from the military base in single player -- not going to happen! Have fun shopping for real estate to buy or spending hundreds of thousands of in-game dollars on businesses that pay you only 1% of what you spent on them maybe once a real life week.

    4) Rockstar is very mod-unfriendly. They will ban you from the game you purchased without refund even if you're trying to privately have fun with your friends. They make zero attempt to distinguish between people screwing around amongst themselves and those maliciously ruining the experience for others. Can't spend a couple hundred thousand or a couple million in fair cheat-detection, Rockstar? Spent your billions already? This is beyond sad. The community is continuing to try and fix the mess that is GTAV to actually make it fun again, yet Rockstar has been trying to thwart them with every update.

    5) GTA has been obsoleted by other entrants in the open world genre. Who needs a hyper-realistic, un-fun when we can choose from so many other options? I really thought that Vice City and San Andreas were awesomely fun games. It seems GTA has gone downhill and let Saints Row and Just Cause supersede them.

I'm honestly really disappointed in this entry in the franchise. Yes, the heists are nice both in single player and multiplayer. Yes the graphics are good. No, the game is not fun. No, the game puts realism in front of having fun. No, the game is not for people who have other things to do than play it every waking moment. GTAV had so much potential. Save yourself money and don't buy this 18 month-late game.

This is my last GTA game. There are far better choices out there now.

This is a cool game! If you don't have any plans for a day and you want to relax with a game, This is a game for you! You can murder or kill people for no reason and destroy stuff. I played this game and it is fun and enjoyable especially with friends just messing up. I don't know about the missions cause I didn't play it and I think it is more fun to jack off and blow some ****

It is the best GTA on the best possible plattform.

Way way better port then part 4. Adding first person to GTA is pure brilliance. Getting knocked off your bike jumping red lights never ever get's old in first person. For the game itself: it's a GTA. You do GTA things, you meet GTA characters. Wether or not you mind the story depends on what entertains you. It's more then enough

For the game itself: it's a GTA. You do GTA things, you meet GTA characters. Wether or not you mind the story depends on what entertains you. It's more then enough though to contextualize the action. The sheer unmachted brilliance is Los Santos though. The amount of detail on every single corner in this games simply blows every other game maker out of the water. Even a hall of famer like skyrim tends to look like a sterile alpha compared to rockstars world building. just stand at a crossing for a couple of minutes and watch this world being alive.

As usual the soundtrack alone is a reason to buy the game. heard the online part is a lot of fun as well.

    just get it.

This is an amazing game that has been fun for years. I have waited a long time for the PC release, as I still feel modded GTA IV is the best game that we have ever had available to us. GTA V proves promising and I've already played for 200+ hours on the PC without loosing interest. Easily 9/10 or 10/10 game with a few items fixed.

The story mode draws you through the story of three men and those they subsequently interact with, drawing them together as a group you get to play as and switch through on the fly. While challenging, you are drawn into their tale while reaking havoc across Los Santos and more. The creativity put into the side details is wonderful. TV and movie theater shorts, random encounters on the streets of LS, the radio or even just cruising a back alley and seeing a bum scratch his butt and sniff his finger. Someone got paid to program that. Just explore, drive around with friends, punch a whale. It's all up to you and what you chose to do, with plenty of it available to you to boot. At the end of the day, it's truly a hilarious and engrossing game. A must buy if you haven't yet.

    Some cons to improve on.

The FOV slider at max akin to a 90 year old lady with binoculars taped to her face. It's abysmal without the FOV mod and makes 1st person completely non functional for a large sector of the PC community. R* needs to increase the in game FOV slider to a much higher value.

Online needs more stuff to do. Casino games, board walk games, the arcade machine from the last incarnation. There just is not enough after a short bit with friends... Even if it means including bowling.

The flying shake is to much in my opinion. To each their own on this one.

The quick menu (M key/Hold Back button on controller) is way to clunky for quick operation of snacks and armor.

Days after release, Rockstar not only could not patch the game for customers who bought it for muxless laptops - which are the most common variety of gaming laptops today - but insulted customers who opened tickets on the matter attempting to find a solution.

Could not play, felt cheated out of my money & slapped in the face by their CS department.

Amazing game, amazing optimization, amazing story and this is my first rock star game. The lack of modding support or more accurately the legal inability to do so I do not see as a problem. It is wonderful when a game supports it, however it is not something we are entitled too.

I bought this on the pc to make the game just as I like with mods. Now it is not working. Why? I wanted music for myself, a radio mod. Change the FOV. Be part of a community. It is all gone.
Why should anyone buy this game on the PC? The controls are sh.tty, driving is a chore and annoying. Mods could have made this game passable. Now they won't.
I want my money back. I've been cheated.

The games lobby-system is really bad, considering that friends who joined your matches are constantly placed in different sessions after playing one match.

The first heist preparation mission always ends in a white screen error, even if replayed.

Mods are not supported and singleplayer-modifications will lead to a ban in GTA Online.

In contrast to that the singleplayer experience and gameplay feeling overall seem to be good.

Driving is better than the old one and there is much more depth in the missions. Object interaction is pretty awesome as is the world detail. I should note that I now have an Xbox controller I use for driving and mouse/keyboard when I need to shoot.

Optimisation is fairly good too they spent some time polishing it for PC which is nice to see. 90% smooth performance on an i5 with an ageing 2gb 7870. Only minor downside is the 60gb download since my DSL is just average so it took a while to get it down, plus good thing I just upgraded to a bigger drive.

Overall it's a contender for best game of the year no doubt.

Polished, beautiful, funny and just plain fun, GTA V rekindled the love I felt for the franchise when I played San Andreas. I found the player characters diverse, comical and endearing. Switching between them kept the experience fresh and engaging.

This is the first game that really tested my rig, though I still managed to stay north of 60 fps with nearly all settings maxed. Graphically GTA V dropped my jaw and gave me several "The future is now!" moments. Even my artist wife would stop to gawk and admire what was on screen.

A great balance between mostly linear plot and sandbox rampage, I found driving and combat to be smooth with the right amount of challenge. My one game-play gripe is the clumsy-feeling pedestrian experience, where it is all to easy to accidentally jump face first into a wall that I intended to scale.

I found the plot to be engrossing through the final scene, and can see myself retreading the story in a month or two. I originally was going to wait for the first price drop to purchase, but a couple videos of gameplay graphics at 1080p was enough to persuade my wallet to open. I have no regrets.

I'm not sure if I can say that GTA V is my favorite game of all time, but I think its the best game I've ever played. Would score it as a 97 if I could, so rounding up to a 10.

We could not expect a better PC port PC for Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar North, offers right from day one a huge game in optimized, widely scalable, and high impact graphics and the video editor, although not so easy to use, is an enjoyable addition.
