    This game is genji from overwatch in a post apocalyptic cyberpunk world and my god it is executed perfectly. My one complaint is that it’s only like 9 hours long so seeing the ghostrunner 2 trailer made me sooo happy omfg

    Ghostrunner was the first experience in a game that needs a very fast reaction, good graphics, interesting collectibles, very good soundtrack, amazing game design! I felt like a real Ghostrunner xD

    This **** makes you feel like god when you get good at it in a way not many other games can. Enemies toward the end end up being a little (tiny bit) repetitive, but that might just be because they get more difficult and sometimes more annoying. Overall though an amazing game with lots of cyberpunk ninja stuff.

    This is a video game ass video game. The gameplay is so freaking fun. It feels so smooth and satisfying to run, jump, slash, and use your skills. The story isn't anything special but it manages to keep you a bit invested. You're really just playing this for the amazing gameplay. It's also quite a challenge at times.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Interesting plot with amazing, memorable characters. Gameplay is top tier. You can just play the game and finish it in 7 hours. You can also learn to Speedrun it and finish it in an hour. Skill selling is insanely high with ledge boosts and dash legde boosts. You can be done with this game in 7 hours or put hundreds of hours in it. Graphics are so beautiful you are gonna cry. You are gonna cry even more if you play it in 144hz. One of the best graphics, plots, gameplays, graphics!!!!! Must play and insta classic!!!!!!!!

    Ghostrunner is amazing in a lot of aspects. It is a game created by a small studio but it may as well have been made by a AAA dev team.

    First of all I don't think I've encountered any bugs throught all the time I've played the game. It's astonishing how polished the game is in that matter. Another great thing are the cyberpunk styled enviroments which as the story progresses and    Ghostrunner is amazing in a lot of aspects.     Another great thing are the cyberpunk styled enviroments which as the story progresses and location change constantly shift in their both visual and level design while keeping in tone with game's artstyle. They are really fantastic and often can tell a bigger story of the place you're in.

    Gameplay is a fast-paced with advanced movement and your main option of fighting back against the enemies is your katana. There are other abilities that help you with encounters but they come later in the game. The game is pretty challenging but the design of the levels allows for a player to go through them without the need of insane reflexes. However if you're good enough you can just rush through the skirmishes without much of a thought. The part that makes the game hard is that any damage you take is an instant death but everthing you hit is also 1 shot (excluding bosses). It creates a gameplay loop that is satisfying and demanding.

    The only two gripes I actually have with the game is that the main story isn't really spectacular and it won't blow your mind away but it does the job and fits the gameplay. 2nd is that campaign is quite short so you won't spend many hours within it unless you plan on playing it multiple times. There are however side modes that are interesting and can replace to an extent the scripted encounters found within main game.    … Expand

    This game is good enough for me. It is hard, but you can beat it. Graphically it looks beautiful, story is ok... BUT never play this on gamepad it will be painful. and you better watch video in the beginning

    플레이타임은 정말 짧지만 가격을 생각하면 이해가는 수준. 빠른 페이스와 죽어도 로딩없이 흘러가는 시스템덕분에 게임을 끊김없이 즐길 수 있다. 다만 창의성은 후속작에서 좀더 보완해야될듯.

    You have to play this game no matter how much you pay. You think you are not gonna play like people in intetret? You will learn how to fly on walls after a few hours of play so don't worry. This is not easy game but it's just flow game. I highly recommended (but still it's to expensive for this 10-15 hours of gameplay to max whole game) (review from november 2020)

    Parece difícil no começo, e até frustrante. Mas com prática esse jogo se torna um dos jogos mais gostosos de jogar que você vai experienciar. Eu não consigo descrever a sensação sensacional que é passar pelos níveis desse jogo, estudando a maneira mais bonita de matar os inimigos, calculando as rotas mais rápidas, em sincronia perfeita. Esse jogo é incrível.

    Very good game. It is challenging, but the satisfaction of clearing a room full of enemies is very high. Really enjoyed it, story is good, incredible music and graphics. Would definitely recommend it. Only default is there is no save point in the level, so when you close the game, you have to do it all over again. 9/10

As the game progresses, many various enemy types are introduced that will test your free-running skills. You also get new offensive abilities that will alleviate some of the tougher challenges. This amalgamation of different types of games makes for a unique and thrilling cyberpunk experience. The game is on the shorter side, my final play time was roughly 6 hours but the average playtime is around 8-10 from what I hear. The game is highly replayable if you like beating levels with better times and/or less deaths. I highly recommend the game.… Expand

    Лучшая игра по геймплею. Такого интересного и разнообразно геймплея я не видел никогда! Особенно хорошо выполнен геймдизайн где на уровнях все интуитивно понятно и не надо бегать 3 часа и искать куда пойти.

    To begin with, I am very bad at any plotters and I can blunt games at an average level of difficulty and start bombing. But here everything was clear to me, and although I died very often I never burned. All boshi are different from each other. So I'm waiting for the continuation of this cool game for me.

    I played the whole game and I gotta say,its good.I got more than I expected.I also want to say that the gameplay is really good.The level design is great.I didn't really like some of the boss battles,because they were kinda easy.Overall I recommend this game.

    I’m just gonna say this in the beginning: Ghostrunner is a masterpiece and one of the best games I have ever played. This review was based on the PC version. Ghostrunner is also available for the PS4 where the visuals are a lot better, and the Switch for some reason. Let me rant about the Switch port for a few seconds. Of course it looks worse, there’s nothing wrong with that but the controls are so unresponsive that it’s borderline unplayable. They should have fixed that before they released it. There is no such issue with the PS4 version. There is a demo on all three platforms, so if you happen to own a PC, a PS4 and a Switch like I do you can try all the demos and decide which is the best for you if you want to purchase the game. Alright, let’s get into it.
    So, first off, the environment looks amazing literally everywhere in the game. The cyberpunk aesthetic is really exceptional, I cannot praise it highly enough. It is just gorgeous, and very detailed even at low resolutions. Now for the gameplay. A lot of people say that it’s somewhat like Titanfall 2 but I disagree. In that game it feels like you float on air and you’re detached automatically after a few seconds. In Ghostrunner there is none of that. You will be glued to walls until you decide to jump off and it really feels like you’re running on walls. I originally expected to get a gun at some point but after a while I didn’t; the sword makes for an awesome weapon and every time I slash someone a bullet with it I feel like a badass. That can be said for the whole game. The entire time I felt like a badass. The games is extremely fair. Every death felt like it was my fault and not the game’s. Even after multiple dozens of death somtimes it wasn’t tedious, they just inspired me more to find the solution. The enemies have a good bit of variety, they make the game really hard although that’s not necessarily a bad thing. New enemies and gameplay mechanics get introduced just about when the ones you know already start to get a tiny bit boring. When you’ve fight a lot of guys with pistols, here come the guys with machine guns, and so on, same for gameplay mechanics. This game always tries something new for you to not even have a chance of getting bored and it works! I hardly ever can say this for any game, but I was not bored a single time I’ve played this. Not once! I have over a day in this game and every minute of it was filled with excitement.The story was interesting enough to keep me going forward even more. It’s not flawless or anything but it’s interesting and gives a meaning to most things. The three bossfights in the game I think were alright, TOM was a bit annoying sometimes, Hel took long to learn how to beat but it was fine, and to me Mara was the easiest, she is so generic. I mean, I would count hitting her 3 times while sometimes she attacks in predictable and easily avoidable patterns and sometimes she makes the floor dangerous, generic. Now that I’m talking about the bad things, let’s discuss the flaws of the game. Some new enemies are just thrown at you without any explanation on how to kill them whatsoever. Same goes for the puzzles. You don’t get ANY hint on how to solve them, just figure it out by yourself! The map is useless. I only ever used it like three times when I couldn’t find one remaining enemy and you can enable a skill that shows hidden stuff on the map but apart from that it has no use. You have markers pointing where to go anyway so why look at the map? Some abilities are fairly sub-par, such as blink. I don’t think I used it more than 3 times and that can be said for pretty much all of the abilities, really. They were somewhat like a second map to me; something I didn’t pay much attention to only when I was starting to struggle with an area. And that was all the flaws I could think of. I think it’s obvious that the positive points vastly outweigh the negative ones. I give this game a 10/10. Ghostrunner 2 has been announced and I can’t wait for the sequel.    … Expand

    Ghostrunner is probably the fastest game that I have played and definitely one of the best. Everything from the art style to the music brings an experience like no other. And even though this game will make you sweat a river of tears from the tens of deaths on each level that you will suffer, I still find myself replaying it. There is no story to this game.     With a GTX 1660 Overclocked edition, coupled with an i7-9700 was able to keep a locked 60 at 1440p, with everything at the highest setting. Definitely worth playing if you like cyberpunk, ninjas, and a brutal challenge. Stay away if you don't like your games too hard. Most levels on the first play through will easily net you 100-200 deaths. Rage is guaranteed, but it is sooo good.    … Expand

    This game is a combination of two games: Katana Zero and Mirror's edge set in futuristic universe.
    The game is hard and it will test your reflex so if you enjoy challenging games then this game will not disappoint. Graphics are beautiful combined with some great mix of techno music.

    This is one of the best games I've played in a while. It's a mish-mash of all the best parts of various games: the one-hit death mechanic of Superhot, the level length of Mirror's Edge, the wall-running of Titanfall and a lot of the art style, platforming and level design from a little-known game called Deadcore. Whilst Deadcore did some truly unique things, it quickly got overcomplicatedThis is one of the best games I've played in a while. It's a mish-mash of all the best parts of various games: the one-hit death mechanic of Superhot, the level length of Mirror's Edge, the wall-running of Titanfall and a lot of the art style, platforming and level design from a little-known game called Deadcore. Whilst Deadcore did some truly unique things, it quickly got overcomplicated by the fourth level, making it difficult to see the path amongst all the various platforms, mechanics and enemies. This game has resisted the temptation to overcomplicate levels, mechanics and enemies, whilst still providing plenty of novelty throughout the 17 levels. The length of the game varies greatly on your competence, but on a first playthrough, expect it to take around 8 hours or more, depending on how long you spend looking for collectibles.

    The level design has decent variety, with a few boss fights thrown in amongst the fast-paced platforming and combat encounters. Visually however, the game looks uniform, it's just the placement of assets that differs. Though the game is difficult, it is generally quite fair and not frustrating at all. This is mainly because checkpoints are frequent, and there is a dedicated restart button which instantly resets to the checkpoint. No waiting, no loading. So even if you finish a level with over 100 retries / deaths, you don't feel bad. What does feel awesome however, is replaying levels and improving your times. It's an incredibly satisfying game to play and even attempt to master, due to its extreme fast pace.

    The stellar gameplay and controls are complemented by a suitably awesome electro soundtrack. The dystopian ultra-futuristic AI-controlled setting and story telling - which is done exclusively through dialogue whilst you play the game, rather than through cutscenes - is another strong point. That said, the story itself is rather pointless and doesn't have anything interesting to say. No character development, no (unexpected) plot twists, and certainly nothing deep. This game is all about the action, and to be honest, that's perfectly fine.

    Aside from replaying levels for collectibles, which can also be cosmetics (swords and gloves), there is a Hardcore mode which puts more enemies and enemy types throughout the game, making even the first level harder than some of the later levels in the regular mode. This will surely please those who want the ultimate challenge.

    Visually, the game looks great and runs well too. This is definitely one of those games that you want a high refresh rate for. It supports NVIDIA's DLSS 2.0 and also ray-tracing; although the latter is monumentally pointless; it has almost no discernible visual impact yet more than halves your framerate. In a fast-paced game like this, it serves no purpose.

    The game has some issues. Firstly, there are no global leaderboards, so you can't see how you compare to others or race their ghosts like you can in Mirror's Edge. There is also only one level in the entire game which is purely platforming. Whilst this isn't a pure platformer, I think the movement mechanics lend themselves well to that sort of gameplay and it would've been nice to see a few short platforming time trials, perhaps as an additional mode or DLC.

    Gameplay-wise, my biggest complaint is with the skills. Throughout the game you unlock different abilities and a Tetris-block upgrade system for choosing your enhancements. There are 4 abilities and you can toggle between them, but in practice, only one of them is useful. The "Tempest" skill is a blast than can take out multiple enemies, and there is an upgrade which refund its usage. Abilities require meter to use, which is primarily built by taking out enemies. Since you only have a few chances to use skills within a level, you have to be very deliberate when you use these skills. Unfortunately, everything is significantly weaker than Tempest, and combined with the fact that you can get free usage through multi-kills, it basically makes every other skill redundant for most of the game.

    The game also has a running theme of puzzles in between levels, as a filler for the dialogue-based story. These don't really add anything interesting to the game, but make for a more relaxing change of pace and visual setting.

    Overall, Ghostrunner is a refreshing platformer which nails the cyberpunk theme and fast-paced gameplay, fusing some excellent mechanics from various games and makes you feel like you're in The Matrix playing as Genji from Overwatch. whilst also adding its own style and innovation. If you like speedrunning games, this is definitely one of the best. It's challenging, but not overly complex. Whilst it's definitely not perfect, the gameplay and controls are sharp. I really hope to see a sequel or additional content - I'd love to see more games like this!    … Expand

I does have flaws, such as the Mara bossfight, which is not particularly hard nor is it cool to play. I felt like it was an okish one. The hardest bossfight was for sure T.O.M. He is Both hard and satisfying to defeat, though not one of the main bosses. The final bossfight is one of my favourites and itis almost perfect.… Expand

    In my opinion there several minuses in this game:
    First:In my opinion there enemies that need to deleted it is Shield Guys and Explosive Guys.
    Main story is not bad but narrative is not the strong side of this game,trust me if ull play this game,after beating the game you will hardly understand what is the story about.
    And the main minus to me is last level,not the final bossfight it is easy though,last level in cybernet and oh my god how stupid it is.I cannot name this level otherwise than stretching the timing of the game,and also this level is giant piece of ****

    This is the first masterpiece game since Furi!
    I am absolutely delighted, the developers have tried very hard.
    Perfect music, gripping storyline, and cool mechanics.
    But I would like more emphasis on parrying, more slasher, more melee fights. It would be 12 out of 10.

А учитывая то, что нам порой придётся сражаться с 5 и более врагами, пройти битву с первой попытки довольно не лёгкая задача. Но сложность тут возникает не только вВеликолепная, жопоразрывающая игра, в которой ты умираешь по 10, 20, 50, а может 100 раз на одном уровне. Несмотря на то, что играем мы за машину-убийцу, один выстрел из пистолетика или удар по нам мгновенно убивает гг. А учитывая то, что нам порой придётся сражаться с 5 и более врагами, пройти битву с первой попытки довольно не лёгкая задача. Но сложность тут возникает не только в сражениях, но и в паркуре. Обычно он достаточно простой, но иногда жопу рвать будет сильно, особенно вспоминая вышку, на которую нам надо забраться, или движущийся с огромной скоростью поезд (кто играл, тот, думаю, поймёт). И эти два аспекта и делают игру крутой, ибо что нужно было сделать, чтобы играть было интересно? Хорошую механику и не давать игроку скучать, чего не происходит, ибо постоянно появляются новые враги и новые способы перемещения. Но есть и третий элемент игры, который мне кажется лишним - киберпространство с головоломками. В конце некоторых уровнях мы отправляемся в некое пространство со страной логикой, и там мы либо паркурим (что конкретно там скучно, ибо отключены многие способности героя) и вместе с этим общаемся с архитектором - создателем этой среды, а заодно башни, где живёт ныне население Земли, но об этом немного позже, либо мы разгадываем головоломки, которые мне не особо зашли, ибо просто тупо сидеть и думать по 10 минут, вместо того, чтобы разрезать врагов или эпично паркурить, в этой игре мне не особо хотелось. После решения этих головоломок у гг открываются дополнительные способности, которые обычно долго перезаряжаются и могут помочь только в очень трудных стычках с врагами. Также в игре присутствуют боссы, от которых задница полыхать будет ещё сильнее, чем от стычек с противниками! Касательно графики - игра выглядит просто приятно, ясное дело что это не ААА проект, и ждать графику уровня Cyberpunk 2077 здесь было бы глупо... Сюжет здесь есть, но за ним я не следил, ибо он раскрывается в диалогах персонажей, русской озвучки здесь нет, а читать субтитры в этой динамичной игре... Довольно проблематично. Но если вкратце - человечество живёт в какой-то огромной башне, построенной архитектором, которго убила собственная коллега и установила диктаторский режим, и мы должны её убить. По словам многих сюжет здесь банальный и неинтересный, но кому, мне интересно, он вообще нужен в такого рода игре? По поводу производительности - на моей видеокарте-затычке за 12к руб игра идёт на максимальных настройках в full hd, и ни разу fps не опускался ниже 60, так что владельцы слабых ПК вполне могут комфортно в неё поиграть.… Expand

    This is a game which is perfect to finish once (unless you are into speedrunning/beating high scores unlike me). Very fun, very quick, with perfect 5-6h gameplay. Recommended!

    This game runs great on Pc and the mechanics are very satisfying, i beg the devs to continue you with this and maybe give us multiplayer and custom maps so we can use our abilities more , there are some minor bugs but overall smooooth experience, Love it!

    A "Ghostrunner", who seems invincible during the opening cut-scene, until, you find out through gameplay that each scenario is a one hit kill. Both for you, and every enemy you face, evening the odds a small bit and keeping the game just difficult enough while still giving the player a large feeling of omnipotence. Thats what this game does so well. Keeping you engaged with a challenge while making you feel like a complete pro at the game. It does this by granting you small ability unlocks in line with the new and improved enemies your climb to the top of the "Tower".

    It's break neck speed game play makes it akin to a "boomer shooter" while still offering other, more innovative ways to take down your foes, with the use of movement abilities, special powerful attacks that charge up over time and various pick ups throughout the levels.

    It rounds it all off with an absorbing atmosphere of flickering neon lights and towering propaganda billboards in a post apocolyptic mega city. As well as the small cries of the tenants in the apartments you speed past as you cut through your foes. To the absolutely breath taking Soundtrack by Daniel Deluxe that you can't help but groove along to during your righteous techno-slaughter.

    In summary, this game is THE hidden gem of 2020 and it is absolutely criminal that it hasn't been nominated for any awards (to my knowledge). My only real issue was the small length of the game, but i suppose no matter how well done a game is, it can't go on forever, sadly. i would of given this review a 9 for that reason, but that too, would be criminal.    … Expand

    It's a really good game in every aspect - graphics, design, gameplay. The only gripe for me is the games length (only 4 hours) but I think it has a bit of replayability of trying to get the fastest run, yet it doesn't seem like the leaderboards are working yet.

    Imagine you combine MG Rising, Doom Eternal and you add a little of Cyberpunk style. The result is this fantastic High-Speed Face combat game. With incredible replayability and impressive graphics.

    Along with Hades and Ghost of Tsushima, best games of 2020. Absolutely gorgeous graphics with fantastic optimization, sheer adrenaline gameplay, very challenging but fair, soundtrack is perfect and the game as a whole made me love it from the demo till the end! The feel of running on the walls slicing through enemies is just so satisfying...

    I almost gave up after the first mission. I'm glad I didn't. Fun gameplay, beautiful graphics, nice music, decent story. I hope there will be a sequel.

    The easiest way to describe Ghostrunner is to call it an illegitimate child of Hotline Miami and Mirror’s Edge. It fails to match the latter in terms of body awareness, but it makes up for it with well-thought-out, satisfying level design and looks great regardless of whether you’re putting your parkour skills to the test, or slicing enemies with your katana.
