Your decisions don't matter again. But this time is worst: we have a unalterable, frustrating and sad ending, with a festival of cliffhangers and lack of answers. Seems like the episode was made to force you to buy the season 2.

Though the series had a very strong, polished start and some notable high points, the conclusion fails to do it justice. I'm annoyed enough that I created a Metacritic account just to write this review.

Though the series had a very strong, polished start and some notable high points, the conclusion fails to do it justice. I'm annoyed enough that I created a Metacritic account just to write this review.

First, it took them far too long to release this episode and the quality control was not good. Audio drops out (especially during the ending cutscene), character positioning glitches result in them jerking all over the screen, and animation quality seems noticeably worse than previous chapters. Character expressions are disturbing, inappropriate or change wildly. Lipsyncing and talking animations are poorly done. Walking animations clip through character models. For a game using a pre-existing engine, assets and, in theory, animation, it seems rather poorly done and oddly worse than before. It's altogether shoddy work compared with Tales from the Borderlands.

Despite all the time it took telltale to make this episode, the writing was not up to par and not enough happened to make it feel worthwhile. At about 2.5 hours for me to complete the game wasn't unreasonably short, but without spoiling much I can tell you that the North Grove storyline never amounts to anything and the King's Landing arc feels railroaded and pointlessly negative. The Ironwrath section is fine, up to par for the series, but not enough to make up for the other two.

The most important criticism follows from this last point - the series ends on massive cliffhangers, without a feeling of genuine progress or direction. The Forresters situation is still dire but salvageable - no real change from 30 minutes into the first chapter other than a lot of blood (pointlessly?) spilled. Events in the last 10 minutes leave you unsure what direction the story will go, certain characters don't appear at all depending on how you play (despite still being important) and at the end everyone is guaranteed to be in a bad spot with half the people you liked dead no matter how carefully, cleverly or boldly you played. Player choice affects who gets the axe (sword, poison, burning, arrows, etc.) but not whether it means anything.

Do NOT buy this game. It offers no conclusion to the series at all. The whole thing is directed at getting you to pay more for the next season.

This last chapter was very glitchy. Lip syncing wasn't even close, characters were jerking around all over the place. The story line's remain as weak as ever. And your choices mean just as little as they always did. Game of Thrones is

Game of Thrones is the worst of all the Telltale adventures.

A finale for a supposed season that doesn't actually conclude any of the major (or even minor) subplots of the series. No matter how hard you try to put the forresters in a good position, their strange incompetence just ruins any semblance of realistic outcomes.

Another piece of trash game. Whats new. Another company trying to steal our money. Your decisions mean nothing, whatever option you choose the ending is the same. You're left at a cliff hanger so that you can buy season 2.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Your decisions don't count, same ending regardless. Cliffhanger after cliffhanger, nothing is explained. Obsious sequel bait is obvious. I'm not buying season 2.
You know all those decisions? They mean nothing.

The ending of this season of game of thrones is simply a money grab by telltale games. You questions get answered at all. It all end with several cliffhangers.

    It's just a miserable piece of **** :C
At first, you waiting four months for the last episode, and then you can not complete it, because it always freezes, and when you close the application through the "ctrl+alt+delete", all progress goes to hell, and you have to start it all over from the very beginning > _ <

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Horrible. Liked most of the series but teltalle contiinues with it's ''choice matters - NOT''. SPOILERS AHEAD: No matter what you do, everybody dies. Every frickin body. (You can choose to save one person - although I gurantee that person will die in the next season episode 1). Some of the dilagoue is missing, sounds too. Some times the sound lag behind the voice.Horrible, never buying a teltalle game ever again. Expand

Nothing good happened with this episode, and this whole season. Asher's band of warriors all died, they did nothing, just died. Ludd whitehill is still alive, House forrester is exiled which is very very predictable. This last episode doesn't hype me up for the next season sorry.

  1. And I have to admit, Telltale has finally made me feel like I’m a member of team Forrester.

The finale is not perfect. The same old combat mechanics favoured by TellTale Games are still there with no variation, but the increased stakes make you fight harder.

It leaves some unresolved plot points, but it’s still a hard hitting and brutal adventure, that maintains the usual quality level we’ve come to expect from Telltale products.
