A brilliantly climactic finale that also sees Telltale taking a bold step forward in terms of gameplay by offering a substantially different playing experience dependent on player choice. If this is a foreshadowing of things to come, Telltale is bound to remain firmly upon the interactive movie throne.
  2. And I have to admit, Telltale has finally made me feel like I’m a member of team Forrester.

The final episode of Telltale’s Game of Thrones story is the strongest since the first, with everything coming to a head, all your terrible choices coming back to haunt you, and a few major excruciating ones left to finish things off. However the lack of any real resolution robs the season of feeling like a complete game.

The finale is not perfect. The same old combat mechanics favoured by TellTale Games are still there with no variation, but the increased stakes make you fight harder.

It leaves some unresolved plot points, but it’s still a hard hitting and brutal adventure, that maintains the usual quality level we’ve come to expect from Telltale products.

This episode is a good ending for the series, with pretty much everything we could expect from Game of Thrones. If you like the series it is based on, you won't be disappointed.

In the end, Telltale's Game of Thrones succeeds in telling a violent, sad story that feels very much at home in the world of Westeros. By the finale, the danger feels real and your choices feel like they have mattered.

Though it makes clear that nothing was truly decided in the Forrester’s quest for survival, both as a family and individually, there’s enough closure to the individual story lines to make the entire trip one worth taking.

Fans who have a better understanding of the George R. R. Martin world will likely be able to cope with how it concluded. Everyone else will be shocked or dismayed. No matter which group you belong to, this series is worth checking out, even if the longer-than-usual wait made it painful to bear.

Game of Thrones - The Ice Dragon is a good closing chapter for the first season of the video game, managing to deliver some satisfying final moments for the main protagonists and to confound the expectations of players to some extent.
