Nov 22, 2015The train of consequences brings the characters to their extreme destinations. Tough choices encourage a second playthrough, but for a proper ending it's required to play another season, and spend more money.
-
Nov 23, 2015Telltale did a good job with Game of Thrones, writing an original story that can really live up to the original. Sadly, the inner narrative isn't as sound as it looks from the outside: the three plots don't intertwine, and they just go on separated paths, leading somehow to a shallow finale.
-
Nov 23, 2015The best for the end - the last episode of Game of Thrones S01 is the most interesting, the toughest and the most entertaining ever, but we can't speak about a satisfactory conclusion. The Forrester story remains open.
-
Nov 20, 2015Albeit exceedingly tense in some places, Game of Thrones marks Telltale’s weakest interactive series yet since The Walking Dead. Characters are bland, plot holes abound, the writing is inconsistent and the ending just a setup for next season. There are some things to like for fans of the TV show, but not enough to recommend Game of Thrones over Telltale’s other success titles.
-
Nov 18, 2015As far as season finales go, The Ice Dragon brings no shortage of excitement to the table, but fans looking for confirmation that their choices really mattered will be left disappointed.
-
Nov 17, 2015The Ice Dragon caps off a year of fretting and worrying. Telltale's take on Game of Thrones has been spot-on in that regard. Now that it's over it's almost a relief, even with a bleak end.
-
Nov 17, 2015Game of Thrones: Episode 6 is a fitting conclusion, but the series as a whole has faltered to the point that many will find it unsatisfying. If you were seeking redemption from this finale you will find a little, but not enough to put this into the usual realm of Telltale excellence.
-
Nov 17, 2015The problem is that sense of inevitability mixes with the lack of resolution for major parts of the plot in an unappealing way.
-
Nov 17, 2015TellTale's meandering Game of Thrones ends with an episode that is very much like the rest of the series. Just "alright".
-
Nov 25, 2015In the end, what should have been the next evolution in Telltale’s reputation for brilliant writing and meaningful choices has instead shown how outdated the company’s engine and storytelling structure has become.
-
Nov 18, 2015A harsh conclusion to a season that confirms we were clearly never in charge and that there were no connections to be expected between the different playable characters - that feel too Stark. Feeling helpless, we can not only be disappointed by the ending, but quite furious that this whole season has been stretched so that we'll have to wait for the (unannounced yet but obviously planned) next one. Shame.
-
Nov 17, 2015An unsatisfying end to what has been Telltale’s weakest game of recent years, with Game Of Thrones proving a poor fit for their usual formula.
-
Nov 17, 2015As a big fan of Telltale’s work, and a Game of Thrones aficionado, I found this to be a dismal letdown. I expected better – hell, I at least expected to feel something at the end of this chapter. Instead, I feel nothing. I’m just completely apathetic to the whole thing, and I feel no reason to be excited about a second season because, well… it’ll just be more of the same, if past experience is any indicator.
