    Although the queue times are bad but that's a healthy sign also the sldevs manage to give 7 days free time to compensate the queue days :)

    An incredible Expansion. The story is great and a more than worthy successor to Shadowbringers. The new zones and cities look amazing. The music is beautiful. And the two new jobs are very well made. FFXIV has delievered 10/10

    Dev team never failed to amaze us.It is hard to imagine how they've come over the last year, bearing all the comment like "it's not gonna beat ShB".But miracles do happen from time to time, is it not :)

    Actual masterpiece. Though story and some narrative choices would not be liked by everyone, for me personally it outclasses Shadowbringers by a lot, which surely wasn't easy.

    Never did I think Creative Business Unit III would be able to top the amazing work they did with ShadowBringers, the previous expansion to FFXIV. But after completing Endwalker i'm happy to say that i have been proven wrong. Personally I could not think of a better way to end the story ark they have been building since 2.0.     I thought Shadowbringers hit you in the feels...God was I wrong. This put me on a rollercoaster of emotions. An amazing end to an epic 10 year story arc.

    Possibly the greatest conclusion and story of any Final Fantasy game. I was pretty skeptical going into Endwalker after Shadowbringers thinking they wouldn't be able to top that expansion, especially since the focus seemed to shift towards Asahi and Zenos, but holy cow was I wrong. The expansion delivered high after high after high after high with seemingly no end in sight, by the finalPossibly the greatest conclusion and story of any Final Fantasy game.     Deeply emotional story.
    Every music track kicks in at the right moment.
    I can only hope that someday the developers will be able to completely untie it from online, so that the game will forever remain in history and everyone can enjoy it.

    In my opinion this expansion surpassed Shadowbringers. Best expansion so far.
    Story, music, duties, maps. Everything is just so good.
    Best Final Fantasy game ever.

    Server issues have been explained transparently and in detail, and a little bit of understanding during a pandemic and a semiconductor shortage doesn't hurt. That being said, this game is PHENOMENAL. It has ascended to become my favorite Final Fantasy, if not my favorite game of all time. Don't let the server login issues mix with the actual quality and merit of this game: it is transcendent.

    If any game deserves to be called art, it is this one. Despite high expectations, they still surpassed them. The music deserves a special mention. Absolutely incredible work.

    I had no idea how they would manage to write an even better story than Shadowbringers, and yet it blew it out of the water and beyond. I have never felt such strong emotions playing a video game until Endwalker. Thank you for such an amazing ride! I look forward to everything to come in the future.

    Sometimes great things must come to an end and this story-driven JRPG MMO finishes our long journey in FFXIV. Hopefully this marks as new beginning for what we could experience in world of Eorzea.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game brings many things in the MMO ganre to a new level and that how it should be done.

    - We know questing in MMO is boring, every MMO player would agree on that one. The idea to place the entire story in dialogs, cinematics and few mini games is amazing. And this decision would not be good if they didn't wrote one of the best stories ever. It was just a great finale for both the Zodiark/Hydaelyn saga and the first chapter.

    - New zones are absolutely stunning. At first it was quite strange that some of them are existing only in the main story and will not be lore friendly to go back there, but that gave them the freedom to do insane things with those zones. Totally stunning design.

    - Music is master piece. This the only MMO that I just can't play with spotify instead of its original audio and even so, this expansion was above expetations (I still don't like the trailer song, but everything else was stunning).

    - Dungeons solo quests and trials were designed amazing.It was pretty good introduction of all basic mechanics that will help to the new players in the future challanges. I love that they are a bit faster and more mechanics overlap on normal mode so it didn't felt too easy, holding your hand content. And we already know that the next patches will unlock some great addition to this.    … Expand

    That's why I love FF14, that's the FF14 I want to play and fell in love. It all begins as a one simple adventure and finally, I finished my work as a hero and become that normal guy to enjoy what I've seen in this journey. However, Our Journey Never End.

    Compared to ShB it is definitely more flawed, but at the same time it also reaches far higher peaks. Giving it a perfect score because in the end it really sticks the landing. And that is not something i can take for granted, for i can't even remember the last time i saw this happen with a story of this size. A fantastic end to an epic tale.

    First, yes there are queues and it's not optimal. Second, it's still the most stable mmo expansion release i have witnessed. Third, you are getting compensated with game time.

    As for the MSQ, you are in for a treat. It starts slower, focused around the scions and the world building of the zones and its people/new characters. Once you are in the third zone...oh boy. After that you are getting one high point after another culminating in an grand ending. Exceeding even ShB story in my opinion.

    The combat of the new job reaper is so insanely smooth and satisfying to play (in regards of visuals, sound and flow), that i decided to main it from now on. As for the sage i have not played it yet. Combat design in dungeons and trials are as always very good and fun to play and should not be too hard for casuals. Every trial boss in Endwalker feels so grand that it could be a final boss of a whole expansion in themselves.

    The art direction in the zones, dungeons and trials are phenomenal as well. Every zone is beautifully crafted and one is prettier than the other.

    As for the OST. I can't put it into words how incredible Soken and his magic hands/mind are which composed this OST. Every track supplements the feelings you get from the story and visuals so well.

    Overall everything seems to fall into place for Endwalker and ends a 10 year old ongoing story with a worthy ending. Which makes me very excited about the future of FF XIV.    … Expand

    the Story is 10/10, everything is explained while your doing the MSQ you do not need to wonder or buy books to understand it KEKW. The Music is amazing. I have seen people talk about the pacing of the story. Personally I did not see any problems. yes the story is long. there are some log queue's to log in to the game. but 1-2 weeks these problems will go away. and the story is still gold

    I've been playing this game since 1.0 released. It has done a remarkable turnaround with A Realm Reborn and improved upon its story and themes throughout the expansions released. This one is by far the best expansion I have played of any MMO and overall a better game than most standalone games. It is clear that the development team loves their game.     The story is second to none 9 out of 10
    The gameplay expands on SB with great new additions 10 out of 10
    The Boss fights are incredible 10 out of 10
    The music I really wish I could give a higher score but 10 out of 10

    This game has helped so many people in rough times of their lives. It deserves so much praise.

    I don't really like MMO's and was always bitter an MMO took the place of a SP numbered FF but having now played from start to finish recently it's now one of my favorite FF's of all time. What an amazing ride and an amazing tribute to my favorite series.

    Thank goodness we were absolutely wrong. THIS is how you wrap up a 10 year long story. All the pieces of the puzzle, even all the way back in ARR, finally come together to tell the finale in a legendary ending. This isn't just the best story to ever be told in a MMO, it's one of my favorite RPG's of all time. From the music, the cut scenes, the gameplay, and the community, FFXIV has managed to make what feels like an impossible dream come to life.

    I worried about EW before I completed EW. SHB was extremely outstanding, and all characters were awesome. I worried if EW can follow up with SHB. But it was useless. During EW, I was impressed and cried about how all stories are connected, and how EW ended. I played FFXIV for long time, but I will miss this Hyd vs Zord story. I will miss all characters. Definitely recommend to everyone.

There is so much more to discuss, like how good the new jobs are, but I think it would be best if you gave the game a try.

Since everybody is talking about the story, I thought id mention that the quest designs for this expansion are the best its ever been in ff14. I can honestly say I never felt like I was doing a repeat of the same quests during this expansion, which helped keep a fresh feel to the morePersonal rating would be 9.8/10.     First I was scared about Endwalker. Shadowbringers was such a good expansion, so Endwalker had big shoes to fill. How I was wrong. The story, the characters, the zones, everything was immaculate. Yoshi P, Ishikawa and Soken, thank you for this masterpiece. Forge ahead.

    This game has always been about the story, and the story of FFXIV: Endwalker is a masterpiece.
    Accompanying the phenomenonal writing is a perfectly paired soundtrack with every musical arrangement fitting nicely in the background of the almost fully voice acted scenes. Of which, the cutscenes now feel movie quality.
    It's hard to recommend this game, considering it will take many, many hours to fully appreciate the journey it has been to get here. But this is the end. And the end was beautiful.    … Expand

    Better story than Shadowbringers. Dungeons are also better, boss dungeons have more interesting mechanics, MSQ duties are also a big improvement. Overall it improves on Shadowbringers in almost every way.

    Queues are long, yes, but that's normal in any new game or expansion, once you are in game there's 0 issues, no lag, no Raubahn Extremes, everything works smooth.
    Endwalker is excellency, unique experience, something you can't express with words, the emotions, the journey, its something you have to live.

    I've never felt such extreme emotions from a video game before. On one hand, I'll be literally tearing up that I gave to step away from the screen for a bit. On the other end, I'll have a feeling of complete euphoria, unlike anything an entertainment medium has ever delivered to me.

    It's so good that there are thousands lined who queue up every day just to play the game. The fact    I've never felt such extreme emotions from a video game before. On one hand, I'll be literally tearing up that I gave to step away from the screen for a bit. On the other end, I'll have a feeling of complete euphoria, unlike anything an entertainment medium has ever delivered to me.

    It's so good that there are thousands lined who queue up every day just to play the game. The fact that there is a long queue should not reflect poorly on the game or the work of art that this amazing team has created. It's due to external events, the real world is in a crazy state right now due to supply chain issues for server hardware. To mitigate this, I wish Square Enix would embrace cloud technologies (such as Google Cloud Platform) to manage some of the services (not the full game servers, but some backend services subjected to high loads, such as the lobby servers). Yes, cloud is expensive, but maybe you flick it on when the load gets too high and handle the rest on-premises. I doubt it's more expensive than the negative experiences that paying customers are having, and I'm sure they could model this into their budget (when they need to pay for its use, it's because subscription sales are WAY up).    … Expand

    The Endwalker story is top notch. An absolute roller coaster of highs and lows. Not only a great finale in itself but moreover makes the previous expansion Shadowbringers even more impactful and purposeful.

    This expansion has a lot of story and also has a lot of side stuff to do, overall FFXIV has a lot of rich lore and content, and if you've been with it a month or 10 years, you'll find this story wonderful and engaging, Endwalker is no exception being the culmination of 10 years of story, i cried, i wish i could wipe my mind and replay it, NewGame+ when?

    I've played since the original beta and it is the Best game I've ever played in my life and it just keeps getting better. The team behind this game are passionate and show no signs of slowing down. It truly is a labour of love.

    Aside from the server issues, which should not be included in ur review btw. This expansion is absolutely the best story I have experienced in any video game. The new additions to jobs, systems, new ost, raids and trials are absolutely amazing without a doubt. This sets the new benchmark for an mmo expansion.

    Despite the worries if Endwalker can be as good as Shadowbringers, YoshiP team managed to accomplish the impossible and make even better expansion.     Is it perfect? - No, is it awesome - YES! For me, Endwalker surpases Shadowbringers.
    Yes, there are currently issues with login queues, but once in game, it runs flawlessly. Apart from that I can't complain, it is everything I was hoping from next FFXIV:
    - great storytelling
    - awesome Music
    - beautiful Zones
    And whats more perfect ending for 8 years long saga.

    The Story was a very fitting end to this long journey - i can understand people being frustrated about the Login Queues, but once you are through them, it is definitely what you were expecting... Or probably way better!

The experience itself is a spectacle with lengthy cutscenes, a great OST, and exceptional work on visual presentation. This is also the most appealing map design since ARR. Sage is also a welcome return to technical healing since SCH was radically simplified in Stormblood.

    This is a Final Fantasy game above all else and actually felt like a singleplayer for its entire run. That's not a bad thing, as this is probably the first Final Fantasy since the era of Sakaguchi's departure that carries the spirit of the franchise forward.

    My only misgiving about the entire experience is Zenos. He was used well at the beginning of the expansion and was mercifully written out afterwards. The only solace I take in him showing up to mar an otherwise exceptional experience right at the end is that he will potentially never return again. He is a blight on the story.    … Expand

    It has been an amazing 10 year journey created by Creative Business Unit 3. All of this in a form of MMO. In my honest opinion, it's the best narrative in any game I've ever played before. It's a love letter from the developers to the players that have sat through everything from the beginning until the end.

    After Shadowbringers i thought, that Square reached peak of Storytelling... I was so wrong. The emotional rollercoaster that game provided, along with beautiful soundtrack was the best thing that happened to me in gaming industry ever. I pray for more and can't wait for release of the patches

    FFXIV is currently the best MMORPG available. The main reason is because it’s RPG first, MMO second. The story isn’t just an afterthought, but an integral part of the experience, and everything else revolves around the tale of the Warrior of Light. It’s logical, well-planned, and presented with great, voiced (or not) cut-scenes.
