Simply put, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is the most complete package for one of the most celebrated entries in the series. Not everything included has stood up to the test of time, but the sentiment of the whole being better than the sum of its parts describes this HD collection perfectly.

Considering the significantly lower price point at launch and the hundred plus hour package, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster for PC is a joyous occasion that allows for an additional audience to dig their teeth into the classic.

One great RPG and one curio. Not a perfect port, but definitely Square Enix’s best stab at bringing Final Fantasy to PC so far.

The PC version brings accessibility and graphical upgrades, as well as the promises of unofficial mod-based improvements. If this is your first time with Final Fantasy X, I envy you — it’s a powerful journey that you won’t soon forget.

After the console versions (PS3, PS4, PS Vita), this new porting of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD is definitely the best one available. Whether you love it or hate it, this is the version you need if you want to (re)play the adventures of Tidus and Yuna.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster for PC is the definitive version of two great entries in the overall series. There’s more than enough additional content packed in, refined visuals and a remastered soundtrack that alone would be worth it, but put on top of it a few of the better Final Fantasy journeys and memorable characters, as well as mechanics and it’s an easy recommendation. If you’re missing Final Fantasy, waiting for FFXV, or just plain want a good RPG then look no further.

The game certainly has its issues and downfalls but overall it’s a great game that is worth playing and now having the complete remastered version allows you to experience the games in one awesome package. Long time fans will enjoy returning to Spira and it’s a great way for first timers to jump in.

It is also probably the best PC port of Final Fantasy series' that Square Enix has ever given to us. Just you know, it supports HD resolution, adds 5 "game boosters" (something like cheats), auto-save is also available here. What's more? We can choose between original or rearanged OST. There are no more "addons " (oh, I almost forgot about Steam cards and achievements) in this port, but we don't need any more of them! The game is perfect itself. What am I talking about? Everything! Story, soundtrack, battle system - everything in this game was excellent even in 2001. Now, 15 years later, we can finally :) play it on our PCs and all the things that I mentioned are improved. It is totally worth buying!
P.S. Final Fantasy X-2 sucks a bit, it is like J-Pop Charlie Angels, in my opinion FFX was much much better.

The good news is the wait has been worth it. It is a port of the HD remaster for PS3/PS4. Traditionally Square Enix Final Fantasy ports have been hit or miss for one reason or another. Some titles are ports of their mobile counterparts which doesn't translate well to PC.

I am glad to say that from the time I have spent with the game thus far the game has run at a steady frame rate on my i5 with a GTX 750 ti 2gb Vram OC'ed and 8 gb of total ram. I have not yet experienced a crash of any sort. Perhaps the game was easier to port from PS4 given the similar architecture. I am unsure if this is a port of the PS3 or PS4 version. What I will say is that the game looks great and comes with a variety of resolution options as well as windowed, full screen and borderless window.

In addition to those options the PC port also also supports a variety of other video options including antialiasing, color correction, shadows, anisoptropic filtering, tex quality, post filter aa, unsharp mask, and Ambient occlusion.

These options are certainly welcome and a good step up from other ports from Square. Though it is disappointing the game still appears to be capped at 30fps. Its not a deal breaker as this isn't a fast paced shooter or anything where frame rate really matters.

The game also features a number of 'cheats' ranging from encounter rates to max items, gil and skill unlocks. These are nice options for people that may just want to experience the story. As you might expect achievements are also available.

With the technical stuff out of the way, this is the same game you remember and love from the PS2 with a new coat of paint. If you never played the original or the remake. You play as Tidus a star Blitzball player and embark on an adventure to defeat Sin. On the way you will meet likeable characters and upgrade them using a sphere grid to unlock new abilities. There are plenty of side activities to partake in including Blitzball, finding all the aeons, acquiring Legendary weapons and more. X-2 is also included which is a matter of take it or leave it for some folks.

All in all FFX/X-2 HD for PC is a solid port and is something Square should carry forward from here on out and seek to raise the bar even higher.
