    Make no mistake: while it certainly doesn’t redefine the genre, Feudal Alloy is an incredibly strong second title from Attu Games. It abides by genre conventions with a style that is all its own, nearly flawless gameplay, and an injection of strategy sorely missing from most Metroidvanias. One of 2019’s first strong indie titles.

    Feudal Alloy is a great game, but at the same time a weaker hybrid between Metroid and Castlevania. Just its rare visuals and fairy-steampunk world deserve your attention. [Issue#293]

Is that supposed to be cause it's the first level or is it a bug? How do I know? The game tells you nothing. What are these strange machines with strange signs? Well, no information for you. The enemy design is basic and the combat quickly goes from okay to tedium. I wouldn't say the game is "bad", but it's also not very good.
