    Far Cry 4 is straight up an absolutely amazing game. It improves on everything we thought made Far Cry 3 such a success. Its no revolution but the sheer amount of pure fun and enjoyability you gain from it is incredible and is an extremely solid entry in a franchise with high standards. The graphics here are definitely a step up from its predecessor. The heavily improved fur as well asFar Cry 4 is straight up an absolutely amazing game. It improves on everything we thought made Far Cry 3 such a success. Its no revolution but the sheer amount of pure fun and enjoyability you gain from it is incredible and is an extremely solid entry in a franchise with high standards. The graphics here are definitely a step up from its predecessor. The heavily improved fur as well as the godrays make the game look as stunning as ever. The weapons remain solid as before but with more variety and realism added to them (most, anyway). A couple things that would make this the perfect Far Cry game would be a lot more customization options - not only for the weapons but also your attire. The land vehicles seem the same as before. They don't feel unique enough but the air vehicle (the Buzzer) makes what would have been long and boring journeys an exciting zip across the luscious landscape of Kyrat. The story was decent but what I thought was well done was the character development as well as the choices you are able to make between them. Overall, these features make Far Cry 4 a solid entry in the series and highly enjoyable. (The references to other games don't hurt) If you even remotely like Far Cry 3, this would be an obvious purchase.… Expand

    I'm 2 hours into the game and i can say, its exactly what i expected. A tuned FC3 with better graphics, the same gameplay, a great, psychotic villain, lots of weapons and a huge world to explore.

    After the day one patch, the game is perfectly playable now and runs on my 4 year old computer on high settings at 30-40 fps. (i5 - 2800 / 8Gb ram / HD 6800) No, its nothing new, its nothing    I'm 2 hours into the game and i can say, its exactly what i expected. A tuned FC3 with better graphics, the same gameplay, a great, psychotic villain, lots of weapons and a huge world to explore.

    The game already gets downvoted. Most likely from people who don't own the game, as usual.

    The game is actually really good. It performs really well, and it is a lot of fun. If you enjoyed Far Cry 3, you will like this one aswell. And well, unlike AC Unity this one actually works. ;)

    My original score/review for this game was a big, fat ZERO. Now? It's a solid TEN. Why the change? Because Ubisoft made the critical mistake of releasing a game without adequate QA testing on very common, standard PC setups and peripherals. I was unable to play for more than a week. However, now that the game has been successfully patched to run correctly with a Logitech G13 controller, IMy original score/review for this game was a big, fat ZERO. Now? It's a solid TEN. Why the change? Because Ubisoft made the critical mistake of releasing a game without adequate QA testing on very common, standard PC setups and peripherals. I was unable to play for more than a week. However, now that the game has been successfully patched to run correctly with a Logitech G13 controller, I must say two things:

    1) It's WAY more rich and interesting than Far Cry 3. The people claiming that "it's just a reskinned FC3 with nothing new or different" are IMO totally nuts. Ubisoft has added a LOT of new mechanics and fine tuned some things that were "meh" about FC3. The "autopilot" on ground vehicles is a GREAT and welcome enhancement over getting around. Set your waypoint, get the vehicle moving on the road with a waypoint path, then go autopilot. You can set the speed, look at the scenery, fight, etc. Glider suits are AWESOME: leap off any cliff or hill and glide as much as you like with this always-ready transportation. Grapple points, climbing, swinging, re-grappling at the end of swings, etc. is all so very much fun. The ultralight copters let you fly directly from point A to point B and are reusable as long as you don't damage them. Plenty of transport options every where, all the time, including the awesome Elephant riding. Taking forts is tougher and more interesting. The AI of all the standard enemy types is noticeably better than in FC3. And finally: Hunters. OMG, the new Hunter enemy types are just hella fun to fight and play cat and mouse with.

    2) The storyline is solid. It's different than FC3. The actors/characters are IMO more engaging than in FC3. The voice acting is great. Pagan Min is a great villain who keeps you guessing and seemingly has shades of gray rather than being a cartoon cutout villain. The two opposing leaders of the Golden Path are both sympathetic, interesting, and believable. There are way more decision points (interesting, not easy decision points), and way more types of quests and "completionist" objectives, with useful rewards.    … Expand

    What you might like:
    * A lot of activities to play around in, many optional unless you have to have absolutely every weapon in the game.
    * Unexpected world events that will sometimes make you laugh (and cry at other times when things don't go in your favour)
    * Co-op, user created maps (some of the outposts are absolutely brilliant), varied gameplay elements that round it up just beautifully (standard races, "danger" races as I call them that have you race in dangerous conditions all while switching vehicles to keep the adrenaline pumping), arena combat pitting you against NPC's and wild animals (and against each other), etc.
    * Some fun sequences that will mix things up in areas that look and behave differently to the standard game world...

    What you might not like:
    * Some appear to dislike the story enough to give it a fairly low rating. Sure it's not the best story I've encountered in a game but I honestly don't have it weigh as heavily as the other elements that make a game fun.
    * There are still un-skippable cut-scenes in this one and even after letting a few years pass between replays I found them rather annoying to have to sit through again when I just wanted to get on with the action.
    * A world littered with collectables. This can get pretty long in the tooth having all of these little icons just prompting you to collect them especially when combined with the hunting required to upgrade some vital elements (more weapons, more ammo, larger backpack to carry around stuff, etc.).

    Conclusion:
    * It's a fun game that I've had an absolute blast re-playing again especially while waiting for Far Cry 5. Sure nothing will ever make me pre-order a game ever again but this one will be watched very closely after release to see how the review scores pan out.    … Expand

    Farcry 4 is sort of a pre-cursor to Farcry 5, with a better environment and to some extent , better guns – yes I really liked some of the odd guns on here. The world is bigger, actually more interesting and certainly has a lot more pick ups and collectables, which does help to branch out the actual experience -(though the collectables are worthless on their own). The story does work ok, but I would say this benefits with more immersion than Farcry 5 – the game feels 'deeper'. (yes 'deeper' for a Farcry game, Ha!, I mean it :) )

    Farcry 5 is better with regard to structuring in the story and generally feeling more fluid in general and is certainly not a lesser game mind you... Oh not to mention given the Dunia engine is improved over this , which I have mentioned about at the bottom of this review... Dunia here is VERY rough around the edges.

    Stealth works and the outpost system has been improved from the previous game(you can fight larger ones called fortresses and replay them (something I resented not being able to do in Farcry 3)).

    Story wise ; the Environment of 'Kyat' is very interesting to see, both in the way the oppressive world occurs, as well as the religious bits that are added to it. I found the Oriental thing that goes with this was great. To some extent I would say some creativity has been applied here. Its a shame that the overall 'take out' is not substantial (of what the game wants to say, rather than what actually happened.). The story does however take some time to 'get' and the initial impressions are quite confounding. ( although your ' rude plus one' has just been tortured and you have just narrowly escaped having picked up guns and just started off, as you do, stealth killing and shooting people)

    It's also refreshing to see that what you would have imagined when first playing the game is dis-spelled closer to the end, In-all: most characters are perceived as quite human. And although certain characters hint at having their darker sides, it is only as you choose a faction at the end that you see their real nature.

    In saying that combat in Farcry is FARCRY. You like shooting people in the face and tracking around and not getting caught ? Farcry is for you, not to mention stealing cars and running people over and then being chased and shot at... This game can get just as chaotic as any other and its what make Farcry GREAT!

    Additionally to this, I did like hunting – it did have a certain competence and patience to it, yet was not too hard – it was rewarding and made me feel like a Bowss. Not sure about fishing though – but its good to have it there

    What's more, stealth is very solid. If you liked Creeping around and not getting caught on Dishonoured or Metal Gear, then this is the game for you! Creeping around, knife killing and take down-killing, without being noticed is very comprehensive on this game, made better by the fact that you can replay those outpost attacks (and there are larger ones called fortresses too).

    Oh did I mention the Wingsuit???!! I know they robbed it from Just cause, but man is it satisfying to just fly down to a mission or climb up a mountain and then fly all the way down to town – the wing suit is great!( if not for the bugs :P)

    The perk tree system is completely missable and the need to loot later in the game expires, this is a shame, though without both, Farcry would become much simpler – so for what they are, they help the game become better.

    Multiplayer is worth playing to explore and just play the game with freinds, but you WONT be able to play any missions at all,only the lesser 'doing quests' and exploring . All progress, like on Farcry 5 is locked to the host only, and the guest only receives the experience that they gain.

    NOTE: Yes so if you want to play Farcry with a friend, Farcry 5 is a better choice.

    The worst aspect of Farcry 4 is the engine – there is not a lot to hate about Farcry 4, - but this is the most frustrating. Here are a few examples - but take this away with you, Farcry 4 feels like its testing the 'Dunia' engine, so Farcry 5 seems to not experience the same issues, so lets just say these problems have been acknowledged, at least in the next iteration of the game.
    -Jumping often starts wing suit
    -interactions with objects often take 5 seconds to begin
    -Interactions with said objects that are close to each other get confused

    The game in a nutshell is a huge, wild, open world sandbox. With tons of side missions, an arena to compete (I had a blast there, it was very challenging and you can use your smartphone with arena master to create your own encounters, try them and share them with the community, which I really enjoyed).

    With so many places to discover and explore, collectibles and secrets to find, a rich culture for Kyrat, some eccentric NPCs, lots of freedom, real time events, a wild, dangerous and sometimes overwhelming (yet pretty) wildlife, I’m sure you will have a great time exploring Kyrat.
    I loved the combat system, it has a lot of action, explosions, gun fights, but also stealthy assaults, you can even ride elephants to kill your enemies in very creative ways. Land vehicles are ok, flying is really fun and sometimes challenging (I wish you could fly a bit higher sometimes). As for the story it’s all right.

    An essential if you loved FC3 and a great game if it’s your first FC. FC4 is a fun game that you shouldn't miss.
    The only downside is coop, I found coop really weak and it’s a shame you can’t play the campaign missions in this way, just a bunch of side quest missions which can be fun at first, but gets old and repetitive soon enough and it’s a two player only mode… coop in FC3 was way, way better than this. Consider FC4 a single player game, coop feels like a waste here. This is my only complaint.    … Expand

    It has no significant difference with FarCry3. But cmon, it's FarCry. Breathtaking graphic with "FarCry" things and symbolic story about how people's desire really are. i had such a quality time playing this game.

    Excelent game.The story is interesting but not memorable.Pagan MIn is a GREAT character but should be used more.MIssions are interesting, combat is fluid and fun.Game is very stable.NO crashes in 27 hours of gameplay.The voice acting is very good but Ajay is a bit of a bland character.Anyway its a 8/10

Единственный недостаток которой я видел лишь в битве с боссами в галлюцинационном мире. Это раздражало немного. В данной - четвёртой части, это отчасти тоже сохранилось. Но благо лишь в одном моменте принудительно. Остальные же путешествия в мир галлюцинацийМне нравятся игры серии FarCry. Пусть у каждого своя любимая часть.     Теперь ближе к делу. Карта стала больше. И заняться на ней больше чем стало - это разнообразные события (кармы), миссии компании, дополнительные миссии.
    Как всегда, экстравагантный главный злодей. Правда один он такой здесь. Остальные так себе. Но зато его с лихвой хватает.
    В целом, геймплей не изменился. Добавились некоторые нововведения. Кое-что упростили. Что только пошло на пользу. Ведь теперь не приходиться тратить доп.время или выделенную ячейку оружия на что-то стороннее.

    Сюжет как и в 3 части хороший. Но на мой взгляд, все-таки слабее. Введение моральных выборов ему добавило остроты. Игра стала интереснее в каком-то плане. Но вот мотивация ГГ не раскрыта так ярко, как в 3 части. Я бы даже сказал, она вообще не совсем понятна.
    Это то обстоятельство, которое сделало сюжет в данной части слабее третьей. В 3 части герой сначала спасал своих друзей, свою любимую. А потом, проникся чувствами и к предводительнице повстанцев. И здесь были понятны его мотивы. В четвёртой части этого нет. Ведь, по сути, по сюжету главный герой не борется за идею, он не одержим ей. Он приехал для другого. Он не проникся идеей сопротивления. Он даже толком и не понял, что происходит, пытался разобраться. Поэтому, с одной стороны сюжет стал интереснее из-за введения моральных выборов, из-за борьбы, из-за интриг, которые разворачиваются. А с другой, главный герой как бы стоит отдельно от этого. И не понятно что его мотивирует. Отсюда, не понятно его такое ярое стремление помогать именно повстанцам.
    В 3 части личные мотивы ГГ способствовали его вхождению и принятию стороны повстанцев. Они помогали ему, он им. А здесь не совсем понятно, почему он выбрал сторону именно повстанцев. Пейган Мин не показался таким отвратительным. И мне лично он импонировал больше в некоторых моментах, чем предводители повстанцев. Да и оказать помощь в исполнении миссии главного героя он также мог.
    В итоге, Аджай легко мог стать на сторону Пейгана. И на мой взгляд, необходимо было добавить именно данный выбор в начале игры.
    Введение романтической линии, могло бы разрешить проблему мотивации главного героя. Проникся Аджай чувствами к кому-то из повстанцев-женщин (Амите, например, или другой героине, которую можно было бы ввести, например, еще в автобусе, где её вместе с ним забирают и судьба ей становиться не известной, и он пытается разобраться в этом, спасти её и т.п.). Но не сложилось.

    Звуковое сопровождение в данной части мне понравилось больше. Оно более в тему, что ли, к определённому моменту. Игра стала более эмоционально насыщенной, включая и вследствие этого.

    Подводим итог. Геймплей, музыка на высоте. Они заслуживают 10 баллов. А вот сюжет, пусть и с моральными выборами стал, но подкачал. Отдельно за сюжет поставил только 7. И именно за моральные выборы. Не будь их, оценка была бы не выше 5.

    Amazing game they took FarCry3 to its full potential and made FarCry4. The shooting is more solid and the world is more beautiful and the graphics much better. The story could have been even better but its fine the way it is too. All in all its a very solid game with almost no flaws what so ever. There is so much to unlock and do in the world and so many weapons its crazy awesome.

The scenery is beautiful, the crafting is fun, the additional objectives are great. The main storyline is good. I think it is better than Far Cry 3. And oh, it may be debatable, but Pagan Min is far better than Vaas. I actually wanted to work with Pagan. Not a perfect game, but very enjoyable for me.… Expand

It's really difficult to improve a game that's already really well done. There are some elements of Far Cry 4 that were balanced better than its predecessor and feel less gimmicky.

    The graphics are just amazing, and the optimization is significantly better than FC3 and Blood Dragon. I did experience some technical issues with the game, though. I noticed that if I alt-tabbed for too long and then returned back, the mouse would lock up unless I restarted the game. For those who multitask like me, this can be troublesome to deal with.

    Also, when I tried to play the game with a controller, all of the key mappings were wrong and there was no way to fix it. It seems to be a known issue. That isn't a big deal if you use the mouse and keyboard, but for those who game with a controller, it will be frustrating.

    Another thing I'll add is that the story was really random and uncanny. In FC3 and BD, you're given a great introduction to a character and a conflict that you really harmonize with. In FC4, you don't really care about the character or what he does. You just go through a bunch of strange missions that don't make any sense.

    The gameplay was improved enough to balance out the overall weak story and help it get a score of 8, but that's about it. It's more like a 7.5, since there are things to like about the game, and also things that aren't as likable. Overall though, I'm content with Far Cry 4, and I enjoyed the Shangri-La missions.

    THE SYRINGE MISSION DLC
    This DLC gives you a taste of the Himalayas map before you actually to those missions. It wasn't particularly long, but it was an interesting little adventure. I wouldn't front the cost of the Season Pass just for it, though. Score: 6/10

    THE BLOOD RUBY DLC
    This DLC mission was very similar to The Syringe Mission, but just in a different context. It wasn't particularly long, and it felt a little too straightforward. Score: 6/10

    HURK'S REDEMPTION DLC
    A set of three missions. The first one was easy, short, and not at all memorable. The second one was funny since you could ride an elephant, but that's pretty much it. The third mission was boring and a bit glitchy. Overall, I just didn't like the character Hurk. It was pretty mindnumbing to watch his cutscenes. Score: 5/10

    THE YAK FARM DLC
    In this DLC, the final fight was challenging, and wasn't a cakewalk like the rest of the game. Although the overall mission was short and simple, it was better than the other DLC missions. Score: 7/10

    VALLEY OF THE YETIS DLC
    This DLC was really enjoyable to play. It wasn't some cheap single mission thing like the previous ones; it was a full-fledged extra map with its own set of missions. The balancing leaves some room to be desired (the Yetis being too strong and the weapons being super weak), but overall the DLC was fun and challenging to play. Score: 8/10    … Expand

    If you loved Far Cry 3's gameplay, you can experience it all again and more in Far Cry 4. You want to kill them all with a rocket launcher, go ahead. Want to stealth through it with a bow and arrows, be my guest. I personally loved the hunting and crafting system in Far Cry 4. The upgrades you could get felt very useful in many stealth and combat situations. Hence, it gave me a lot of incentive to go out of my way and hunt that rare animal. It felt satisfying.

    Out of all the stealth games I've played, the Far Cry series definitely has my favourite enemy detection meter. It doesn't fill up too fast or too slow, it gives you just enough time to jump into cover if they catch a glimpse of you. This allows you to continue stealth combat, instead of being forced into an all out brawl. But at the same time, the game doesn't let you just run loose and not get detected. If you're too braise, you'll be rightfully spotted out. The system feels fair.

    You can choose from a range of vehicles just like Far Cry 3. Though not too many new ones, but you can ride an elephant and ram into people. And probably one of the most amusing things is back. Watching enemies or allies getting attacked by random animals. Eagles are my favorite.

    - Narrative -
    The story and characters has to be what brought my rating from an 7 to a 9. AJ Ghale is a protagonist you want to fight for. He's bringing his mother's ashes back to her homeland, but there's much to discover about his origins through this journey. You uncover bits and pieces of AJ's family's past, and the influence his parents had there. It's all still a big mystery, until the very end. The game has you thinking one thing, but the ending completely turns it upside down. It's also how they presented it. In an instant, WITHOUT words, all your questions are answered. I've seen my fair share of plot twists in movies and games, but this has to be one of the best. Once I opened that door, it all made sense. I literally just sat there in my chair, not moving my character, for a good 5 minutes reflecting on every major dialogue throughout the game, and how it all made sense, the moment I opened this door. It was a surreal feeling. There's also an alternate ending which allows you to complete the game in less than 15 mins. It's amusing to say the least.

    - Visual & Sound -
    Another very strong aspect about Far Cry. The visuals. The lush atmosphere. The detailed environment. Instead of tropical islands this time, you're out in the mountains and peaks. Animals and people are very interactive. Though I feel the devs reused too many of the same models for the allies and enemies, they literally all look the same. Like I swear I just killed this enemy, now he's strolling around as a civillian in a village, what?

    - Replay value -
    There are plenty of side missions, forts, and treasures to loot after your first play through, assuming you didn't get everything along the way.

Seen this on every new game... Most of the time its people not having strong enough PC.. the graphics got improved alot in 2015 games... And worst case droping from ULTRA to very high is OK you wont likley to feel theFC 3.5 , Ubisoft, Bad optimize.     This is the best first-person shooter ever made. You have so much freedom and there are lots of fun ways to approach and achieve a mission. Other game designers please take note.

    I think this game is absolutely amazing! Open world with lot of wildlife and the scent of Himalayas are awesome! I would strongly recommend this game to everyone who loves the Far Cry series.

    Far Cry 4 is best Far Cry Game . Awesome Graphics and very interesting and intriguing storyline, gameplay is awesome and in this game very awesome villain - Pegan Min and in this game amazing stealth missions . Very awesome game, even better than Assassins Creed Unity .

    This is a decent game with amazing music and fun scenarios. The story, which was full of great actors as well as Emcap and Movecap, undermined itself by taking a direction that didn't make sense. Yet, even having a little bit of EmCap and MoveCap even though they went the wrong direction with it just made it better.     The animals tended to be out of control as well. People wandering around tended to get randomly attacked by up to 3 different animals as well. You can hear them so often yelling about a different animal like it was 'Short Bus to the Zoo Day'.

    The combat is decent and challenging. The weapons are satisfying to use. The scenarios are both diverse and fun. There are also fun situations that you find yourself in. Amazing music. The Bombay Royale is just epic! Those Reggie and Yogi quests just rock it!

    Despite all the issues with aspects to this game, the epic qualities pull it to a level of being one of the best. Far Cry 3 was a very different game in so many ways. Those people thinking that it is "The same" have no feel. I would give this game a 9.4...but the closest to that is a 9. Well done!    … Expand

    now like the games in the past it gets repetitive that`s my only complaint.

    As the follow up to Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4 had the difficulty of being compared with the best in the series.

    Still it scores a 10 as I would give it 9,5 or slightly more were a decimal place present in the score. Far Cry 4 featured a great open world environment again and an amazing soundtrack. The musical buildup in the missions was very enhancing to the overall mood in the game. After playing FC2 which I liked alot, i was hooked on wow, so missed alot of good games ic, now i am done with wow, I played FC5, I realy loved that game, except it was a bit easy, maybe should play hard instead. Ai was a bit messed up.After finishing i was damn , its over, so was thinking should I buy FC4, would be a downgrade, but for $12,- dollar, i thought lets give it a shot, and deal with the poor graphics . was i wrong, FC4, was even better than 5 and the grphics for 2014 game, was suprisilly good consider i played fc5 before. More depth in story, and side missions shangri-la where amazing imo, the AI was better than on fc5 , (bit weird though). Also what i liked more is that you have to work to get better weapons, on 5 I got the best sniper-gun right away from start, spoiled the game a bit imo. Though the skill interface and weapon wheel where better on 5. But Iam on 25 hours orso now and on 50% (yes taking my time) and love every minute of it.… Expand

    Subjectively for me the third and fourth parts are in one place according to the interest, atmosphere and study of the World, but objectively I agree that the third part is the best in the series, since it's story is the strongest and interesting from all the parts. But since I liked this story too, I will give the third part a highest rating, and to this part almost highest.

    Story: far cry 4 follows the story of Ajay Galle a what seems to be an american college student whos mom passed away and is trying to spread his mothers ashes where she grew up. only to find out where she grew up is under the tyranical rule of pagen min an ex triad revolutionary who took over the country of kyrat and turned it into his personal play thing. but has a surprising amount of loyalty from his subjects, now i have to give special mention to troy baker as he seen what Micheal mando did and then put his own spin on things and that created pagen min. Ajay is then thrust into a war between pagen and the golden path who he finds out his biological father started and has to chose between sabal ( a religious fanatic who wants to marry off little girls and just the worst of the relgious traditions) or Amita ( who wants to turn the whole country into a heroin farm ) so nither choices are good but i still went with Amita the first time cause at least she has some smarts but sabal cares more about his people and this dynamic will lead to a clash down the road where one will end up in hiding or dead but its up to you WHO. the story telling on display here is far more refinded than far cry 3 , the duality is still there withj the tiger and the elephant skill trees , and the choosing of amita and sabal is essentially choosing between your mother and your father as well as makeing pagen min some one who actually came between your parents uhm marriage ? i dont think its explicit said ajays parents are were married but lets assume, pagen was in love with your mom and so for the most of the game he wants you on his side and trys to change your mind ( poorly but he trys)

    World building: Agent willis huntly , is al i have to say for world building , hes been in every game main game since 3 and his satirical patriotism is always a treat. but besides him there isnt much that connects the games this may keep the franchise from getting stale and its ability to reinvent it self but fallout dose that any ways and look how incredible that games lore is. i know the world building is not the point of this game but i think it could have done a little better. other than that its just pagen doing bad things and the golden path doing good things, so its serviceable.
    World building: 6/10

    Graphics: there is not a single far cry game with bad graphics, far cry 4 has alot of graphical improvements over 3 , clearer picture , shadows and lighting are excellent and the textures and models are crisp, ajay actually has cloths and you can see the cloths and isnt just running around in atee shiort and shorts carrying 4 full sized guns ( although hes still carrying and impractical amount of equipment) , cars look better inside heaving a lot of detail and there is more variety of them. this game looks great and is definitly an improvement on 3.

    Game play: far cry 4 is formulaic , its a little to much like 3 Witch in the long run im ok with because it game them time to focus more on other avenues like story graphics , locations and sound design. BUT far cry 4 i like to think of the csi new york to far cry 3's csi miami. both good shows and entertaining but different enough . there is more side missions though so they didnt forget to add extra stuff, but the missions arnt what make far cry memorable, every incarnation of far cry the most important thing to it is the guns , how they jerk when you shoot , how your charcter reloads m the models them selves , well far cry 4 takes all the guns from 3 and adds another 20 on top of that and its addicting to try every one and its this simple fact that makes the game feel like dlc rather than a sequel , along with the missions being basically the same. but this game still makes you feel like an action movie hero with a large sandbox and thats all i want out of far cry games , if they continue to do this i will always buy the next far cry game.
    Gameplay: 8.5/10

    Sound design: the most improved part of this game , and it probably went completely unnoticed for most people, the guns still have the same punchy ness BUT the explosions sound incredible , voice acting was elevated haveing alot more stand out performances and more memorable characters . the music was made in a style that fit the games setting as well similar to 3 but done better.
    Sound design: 8/10

    8.5+6+9.5+8.5+8= 40.5
    40.5/5= 8.1/10

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. while it does nothing different or better than it's predecessor, the setting and antagonist makes it far more enjoyable (for me) then far cry 3.
    Pagan Min is perhaps the series best villain to date. he's charismatic, a bit unhinged but also conflicted.
    he loved your(ajay's) mother, hated your father and so it leaves him with mixed feelings about you. over the course of the story you learn the truth about the events that lead up to far cry 4's time period. you also discover that your father was as much of a villian as pagan is.
    So, here's the deal; your father knew that pagan had the hots for his wife(your mom) and so he sends her to seduce him. too bad for your father they had a child together, a girl, your half sister. in a rage your father kills the girl and your mother kills him and takes you and flees to america before the resistance kill you both for the loss of their leader. the loss of his daughter kind pushes pagan over the edge.

    over the course of the game it becomes clear that pagan doesn't want you dead, and depending on certain choices you make, you'll find this out for sure. for a far cry game, there's a surprising amount of nuance to the story. it's definitely worth a buy if you liked far cry 3, but felt voss was a bit one noted.    … Expand

If only this world were smaller I wouldnt reccomend this game. Oh, and graphics. Yes, and graphics which is amazing. To summarize: if you like sandbox shooters you might enjoy it. If you need plot, general idea, some real villain, quests, youVery good game. Big open world, I don't remember such big sandbox since first Crysis.     do not misunderstand me, I find FC4 to be a truely well made game.
    it is fun to play, the story is superbly written and the characters, especially antagonist "King Min", are very well developed characters you will love to hate... though, I have to say that "Min" is no "Vas".
    I am not too far into the main-story, so I can only suspect that the main quest will turn out to be nice this time around again - BUT, make no mistake, FC4 has literally NO INNOVATION, NOT THE LEAST BIT OF "NEW", NO NEW MECHANICS OR WAYS OF PLAYING YOUR GAME...

    FC4 IS JUST "MORE OF THE SAME" - or as vendors in Thailand used to announce their cheap counterfeit things: "same same ... (but different)!" - I will gladly admit that I kinda MISS something, a tiny little bit of "new", something fresh and innovative.
    instead, Ubisoft wanted to play it absolutely safe -. and they could, for FC3 is an almost perfect open-world FPS.

    the whole concept did NOT have to be completely re-invented (as IS the case with the "Assassin's Creed" series), however, I am sure that most gamers (like myself) would have appreciated "something" fresh... not talking about some game-changing mechanics, but anything that we hadn't seen in FC before.

    but, we've basically got this "Far Cry 3" CLONE ... which isn't exactly a bad thing.

    FC3 I have rated 10/10
    FC4 I rate 8/10 - because it could have been "more" and Ubisoft simply didn't have the "cojones" to change the tiniest bit...

    from a technical viewpoint I have to remark, even with older GPU like mine (Radeon 5870) you can get this game to run with STABLE 30 FPS!
    (what I want to tell you is, the game runs on older hardware - IF you know how to "tweak" your settings - though, it absolutely should be enjoyed on a nicer graphics-card than my old piece) ;)
    but, given that the only "innovation" or even difference in FC4 is the extremely nice graphics, you most definitely should play this game on a good GPU, to at least enjoy the only thing "new" and "better" compared to FC3.

    comming to think of it... Ubisoft seems to HATE any "changes" to their franchises!
    that is the simple reason for why "Assassin's Creed Unity" is the "Same **** Different Game" crap it had been from the beginning.
    (oh how I wish for the consumers to "vote with their wallets" and finally stopping to buy the BORING BULL**** this AC franchise had become!)    … Expand

    overall in my book its Far Cry 3.5 than FC4.... If you enjoyed FC3 you will enjoy FC4.

    now bad side is, they need to fix the mouse movement asap, because its hard to aim and move the mouse at the moment (not properly syncd).

    Flat out if you enjoyed FC3 then this new, updated, expanded version of FC3 is a lot of fun so far. If you were hoping for some major shift in the series then you're going to be disappointed. I like it and think it's an improvement. I don't regret spending the money.    … Expand

    Im 100 % that the developers of far cry have nothing to do with AC no matter ubisoft montreal are the same . Engine: dunia . Port: 10 . Vram is 3gb max . Hear me right: you can plug the ps4 controller and it uses the touch-screen ( no xbox interface)!! That was blown mind .
    Story; gameplay and sound is great so far . Playing with 780 ti 1080p 60 fps with smaa . Optimization for pc gamers    Im 100 % that the developers of far cry have nothing to do with AC no matter ubisoft montreal are the same . Engine: dunia . Port: 10 . Vram is 3gb max .     Since they've addressed those primary issues, I highly recommend this game if you enjoyed FC3. On an i7 4770k and GTX 970, the game is running at constant 70+ FPS on Ultra preset at 1080p with zero stuttering.

    I thought it deserves mentioning that the mouse input in this game is absolutely horrible.

    Both Far Cry 3 / 4 have a "mouse acceleration" setting in the options menu, so you'd think the developers knew what they were doing when it comes to translating mouse input into camera movement. After all, that's the most basic interface of an FPS game. Unfortunately, that isn't the case. The mouse behavior is wildly inconsistent, there is both positive and negative acceleration as well as mouse smoothing. It feels like they took analog stick implementation and tied it to the mouse.

    I move my mouse quickly, my character does a 360 degree turn. I move the mouse slowly across the same distance, my character turns 90 degrees. Aiming precisely is very frustrating. Playing the game with a controller is probably more ideal at this point. The fact that none of the QA testers noticed this indicates they tested the game with a controller and never used the mouse. That said, a lot of people are complaining about it, maybe it will be fixed in a patch. And yes, this may seem picky, but proper mouse control in a 2014 FPS game is expected.    … Expand

    FC4 is exactly what I expected. They take the cool stuff from Far Cry 3, add more awesome stuff and some great and crazy characters.
    I've got no technical issues and everything looks really nice. The places to discover are really beautiful. At the moment (after 20h playing) I can't name any negative point, except my skills against the wild animals :D I think, I'm in love with this game.

    But you can get all that good stuff in the title, but if it has severe frame rate dips no matter what you do and has a default mouse and keyboard set up that is nigh on unplayable, alongside an FOV issue that actively encourages motion sickness, then you're gimping your game right off the bat.

    I really don't know what it is about Ubisoft and releasing games for PC that appear unfinished and untested, but it appears to be a trend that needs to be stopped. Ubisoft in particular have all the skill and ingredients necessary to make flawless, blockbuster titles with the raw materials the AC and Far Cry (and to a lesser extent, the potential in Watch_Dogs) franchises have, but they're shooting themselves in the foot time and time again.

    But enough of the negative, as they are technical faults that should have an easy fix - this is a very enjoyable title that is worth your money and time, which is more than can be said for Unity. If you have a back catalogue of games to play through, you can probably wait till this goes on sale as it's not a "must play immediately" kind of game in terms of multiplayer etc. but definitely add it to your FPS/Action purchase list.    … Expand

    I just finished FC 3 to be in the "mood" when I started playing FC 4 and I am not disappointed, yes it is the same basic concept, but there are also differences making it a new experience.

    The scenery is spectacular.

    The AI is much improved.
    It is no longer possible to take an outpost by standing at a distance taking out the guards one by one with the sniper rifle. The guards take more damage and they will hunt you down instead of reverting to their scripted track 2 seconds after you shot the guy next to them.. The alarms are better protected against tampering, so you have to get close or stand at an awkward angle to shoot at them.

    There are also tons of predators, and they will kill you if you do not kill them first. So walking around is no longer safe.

    Hunting is MUCH more fun than in FC3 and you need to hunt a lot of animals to get your gear upgrades. Lots of variation and much more challenging than in FC3.

    The weapon upgrades are slower to appear, you will have to advance much further before getting a mini gun...again it puts more pressure on the player and makes it impossible to finish the game in a few hours.

    Flying a light helicopter is great fun and flying low over water or trees have a significant visual effect on both. Making it much more life like. If you jump out of the helicopter before landing will break it bringing more realism in to the game.

    I have not played more than approx 25% of the game and therefore there are lots of things yet to experience, for instance taking one of the fortresses, but I am looking forward to the ride.

    If you liked FC3 then go for FC4.

    If you do not like open world stealth games with a lot of side quests and just want to shoot somebody and get to the next level, then this game is not for you.

    This game is special for me and for all Indians. Playing a world class game with characters speaking Hindi(especially the abusive language used is so typical of Hindi) was truly a delightful experience.
    Apart from that the game is fun to play, visuals of Himalayas are stunning , gameplay is flawless and the story telling in shang re la part is indeed inspiring.

Far Cry 4 is Far Cry 4 and is totally different than Far Cry 3. Hell the graphics engine used in Far Cry 4 is different than Far Cry 3 and you can see the difference in details if you have played both. the graphics in Far Cry 4 are simply sublime!

    A lot of new game mechanics in Far Cry 4 like the Grapling, Gyrocopter, riding elephants, using animals to help take down outposts etc.

    Far Cry 4 is by far the best game release that I have played for 2014. It is a lot of fun and I highly recommend it. Ignore the negative reviews as I doubt they really played the game.    … Expand

    I never thought I would like the Bible.
    Really though, game is amazing. I mean, I played it for 5 hours, and did 1 main mission.
    Also, Elephants are OP. They don't die, they insta-kill everything, you can shoot while on them(Pocket Rocket FTW) and you get a ton of Xp with them. And you can spend your first perk point on it. Screw end-game.

    Already addicted. Yes they did not re-invent the wheel, but what they added is beautiful. The story is awesome, the guns feel powerful, and I feel like I am quickly progressing in game. I have been unable to turn it off yet, and I am usually a negative Nelly about most games this year.

    As for the game itself: it's the same style of gameplay as Far Cry 3, only with more polished game systems and a more fully realised world... pretty much EXACTLY what I'd hoped it would be.

    By turning OFF the in game mouse acceleration and running my mouse software - I had no 'studder' input, and they've since patched the input issues others complain about here.

    Really enjoying the game so far - 7 hours in. If you have played and enjoyed Far Cry 3 then this one will hit all the buttons. Beautiful scenery to look at as you tear around on load of different vehicles. My favorite is the gyro-copter. Forget the haters this game is good. I havent progressed the main adventure that far as I like to do the towers so I know where I am going and camps so IReally enjoying the game so far - 7 hours in. It's a huge, sandbox adventure series that has the same components - capturing strong points, fighting off animals, crafting and following a "be the hero" story line.     i was VERY sceptical at first, and the game crashed a few times even. but after i got that fixed. you somehow cant help to get into it...
    visuals 10/10 - great great graphics
    sound 10/10 - weapon and soundeffects are stunning , the music is amazing, it really captures the vibe
    gameplay 9/10 - thrilling, to say the least.

    The best in the series. Forget Blood Dragon this goes back to some nice roots with sleeping being put back in to the game and keeps the amazing gameplay of 3. Nepal is absolutely beautiful, have fun get exploring and keep away from Pagan!

    Likes:
    + A shooter that's set in a large, open-world with plenty of weapons, missions, and enemies. My take on the story is it's like a Hollywood action movie. It's good enough to drive your character's actions and motivations.
    + Variety of travel options. Run, climb/rappel. Drive, swim, boat, fly, jump, zip lines, elephants. Getting around is fairly easy.
    + I though the gun play and moving around was fine using the Xbox controller. Duh, it is a console port.
    + Missions in the open world are where this game really shines.
    + Crafting, skills, and progression mechanics are easy to understand for a Farcry noob like me.
    + Nice visuals.
    + I love the settings. I've trekked in the Everest and Anapurna regions of Nepal and Kyrat is modeled after the Everest Region. Ha ha maybe a modder can turn this into a Nepal trekking simulator.

    Dislikes:
    - The save/check point system. I'm spoiled by save system of open-world Bethesda Softworks' games like Skyrim and Fallout, so this check point business can get repetitive on some mission. For an open-world game, it's not really always 'open'. What's with this you cannot leave mission area messages? I'm trying to flank the bad guys!
    - The inability to fast forward through cut scenes will make me think twice about replaying this. I hope someday a modder can fix this.
    - Driving is a bit wonky with the Xbox controller but I'm getting better at it with each session. However, if I come across the copter while driving I will always switch to it. Unfortunately, that's not an option on some driving mission. That should say something about the driving control.
    - Some of the side missions take you out of the open-world and can feel rather restrictive and repetitive if you keep failing it like me!
    - Occasional stuttering on fairly high-end gaming rig. I would like to be able to run it on Very High setting. It looked a lot better.

    I was reluctant at first about getting this game especially after reading various comments/reviews about U-play, Ubisoft's PC ports history, mouse/KB control issues, comparison to FC3, etc. I have nothing to report on that front: my game was patched on first launch, u-play always worked, I used a Xbox controller, not a single crash, and my gaming rig handled it just fine on High. That's the problem with games on PC: your mileage may vary.

    i just completed the game and i enjoyed it even though there were some small annoying stuff (fov kept on freezing sometimes on 65 and i had to enter a car and exit again so it can go back to 90 , but that's nothing)    The game for someone who didn't own Far cry 3 is a 10 , but for some who already played 1-2-3 and now 4

    it's an interesting terrain with lots and lots to do but it's boring navigating at a slow rate
    the flying suit was a bit clunky also,there were times where i simply wanted to jump down but the suit was opening by it self and causing me to hit on the floor dying....

    i didn't like that i had to complete missions to get some skins or the fact that a sniper enemy can hit me over great distance with dead center accuracy ... every shot hits even when flying away on the helicopter? i mean who is he ? chuck norris ?

    also i didn't like the "Y" missions,the drug people, also the shangrila was a bit annoying at first ,then i got a bit interesting but it ended too fast,i don't miss it though...

    i will now free every north post that's left and try to find everything in the map

    i didn't see any GREAT improvements on graphics or sound but they are pretty good,though it doesn't feel quite right because the frame rate is a bit weird sometimes its 90 then 30 then 100 then 20,fix it

    haven't tried co-op i don't like when people mess with the way i play    … Expand

    You are wise to lay off while the game is at full price. This is because it isn’t much different than FC3. There are a few new additions to gameplay and enemy types, but most of it is just the same thing in a different skin. Instead of radio towers, there are bell towers. You still have to hunt animals in order to craft holsters, ammo packs, wallet, etc. You still gather various plants to craft syringes. The mood of the game is still some struggling native freedom fighter “tribe” or “group” against a corrupt drug trafficking tyrant and his mercenary cronies. Outposts are still plentiful and the mechanics with that is largely the same (liberate outpost, disable alarms, try not to be detected, etc.). Wildlife is extremely plentiful to a fault in my opinion. It seems like I can’t breathe without being attacked by a honey badger, pack of wild dogs, a pissed off rhino, or my absolute ultimate enemy the eagle. It sucks to be scoping out an outpost trying to be stealthy, then a tiger or pack of Tibetan wolves just comes up behind you. It seems to never fail. It’s irritating. I have been killed by animals just as often, if not more often, than human enemies. That is what I consider to be “bad”, but more in the sense of “been there, done that”.
    Now for the good parts of the game:
    Graphics are as stellar as ever. Story seems to be slightly rehashed from FC3, but I’ll forgive it due to a broad range of side missions and activities. You can change the direction of the campaign by choosing between the two protagonist leaders Amita and Sabal, both of which have different objectives in spite of being on the same side. I am planning on switching off between them every other mission to keep things interesting. You can learn a skill in order to ride elephants (something I recommend doing early on). It’s like riding a living, breathing tank with tusks. You can ram enemy vehicles, fortifications, and even have the elephant grab a guy with its trunk and smash him into the ground. You have the ability to climb cliffs at grappling points. This makes getting around a little easier. Hang gliders are plentiful, as well as having zip lines and a wing suit. Some cool new weapons were introduced, such as the harpoon gun and auto crossbow. You can also get meat from animals and use it as bait (considered a throwable item like grenades). This attracts nearby predators to cause mayhem among enemies. Sometimes this backfires if an enemy Hunter type is around, because they are able to charm predators into attacking you instead. The main character isn’t a **** at the beginning like Jason Brody was (he’s kind of neutral and calm). This might be a con to you if you like some realism in your character personalities, but he does mention serving in the army, so that might be why he doesn’t act like a ****.
    TL;DR – This game is an improvement upon its predecessor, but only marginally so. The new environment of Kyrat in FC4 is just as vast and fun to explore as Rook Island in FC3, but it seems like the devs for the game just added a few new trinkets to the gameplay, changed the characters, tweaked the story a bit, and then transplanted the game mechanics of FC3 into the Himalayan Mountains. Get the game, but don’t pay $60 for it. I think $40 might be a fair price.    … Expand

    FC4 is an explorers delight. I compare it favourably with Skyrim where you are encouraged to travel off the well worn path of the main storyline. Whether climbing the beautiful vistas, exploring a dark wet cave, or working out how to approach an enemy outpost there is always something interesting to do.

    Most of the characters are very interesting. The storyline is fairly mundane but not too detracting from the overall experience. But let's be honest FC is more about the gunfights and playing in the sandbox. One mechanic I absolutely love is the ability of enemy troops to assault friendly outposts. I like the random events that fire off every now and then. This version of the Far Cry world is far more alive than earlier releases.

    FOV adjustment was added in the day zero patch, as well as SLI support. The game runs absolutely great on my rig. Granted...     So do yourself a favor, don't believe the naysayers. Buy the game from origins, play 5-10h and see for yourself. Trust me, I'm an old-school gamer and this is a great game! The Dunia 2 game engine is beautiful as ever, and the game itself is VERY big! There is no shortage of quests, and exploration to be done, including the mini/ side missions, of which there are many.     Far cry 4 is quite great. It has every good feature of far cry 3 with some new one added. You won't ave any problem with far cry 4 mechanics if you have played FC3.
    There is a problem, it might be a good thing for some but it is too much similar to FC3. There isn't a thing in FC4 which may come as a surprise. Everything is expected.

    I am in love with this game! It runs so nicely, it looks amazing, the characters are brilliant (I Love Pagan Min), the new animals are nicely done look so beautiful. Everything about this game is amazing, the story line is perfect loving every minute of it. Can't wait to finish the game and see what happens at the end :) I'm going to be sad to actually finish this game.

    Great game, great visuals and well optimized, with 760 Gtx on Ultra/high getting 60fps avg, which is very nice, MP modes are really and campaign is a good as FC3, must have for any FC or FPS fans.

They called in reinforcements and killed the elephant I was riding THEN the OTHER ELEPHANT that was also bathing got ugly and rage killed every enemy in the base. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! So, so impressive taking an outpost on with an angry elephant that it's mate was killed. Does this get any better? No. Never. For that one experience I'm raising this to a 10. What was so amazing was that I attacked the base with only one elephant and never called the other one in but left it downstream bathing. However when it's mate got kaiLled somehow it knew from the cry it let out and in an instant it was raging mad and just killed every enemy. It knew to kill the ones that killed it's mate as it didn't touch my guys when they moved in. I also hand grenades a bear and killed and killed some leopards but wasn't easy. Loving it more as I play more. Glad I bought it. Love the helicopter. Snipered guards at a tower using a silencer and took like taking candy from a baby. Just awesome. First experience was not good but as I learned the ropes I found it awesome.… Expand

    If you like Far Cry 3, this is more of the same but in a new local. Solid gameplay, some new mechanics but overall a fun Open World FPS. I dig it.

    The two points I am deducting are going away for:
    - graphic stuttering issues not properly adressed (only some forum post, no patch), despite easy fix
    - enemy AI too often is too dumb (silently shooting a guard in front of his body should make them press the alarm and search in teams)
    - wildlife is sometimes too aggressive and too hardy (packs of dogs become really annoying)
    - finding and hunting down treasures is just too easy (Ubisoft standard: buy a map, watch your minimap ... apes could do this = no real surprise or "accomplishement" in it)

    Anyway, I really enjoyed it and definitely recommend it.    … Expand

    This game is really good! If you liked Far Cry 3 then you should like Far Cry 4 better. Same mechanics with a few improvements. Very similar to the previous installment. I like this one better. Is a bit demanding for your PC.

    Pagan Min is not Vaas, but he has his own personality as do many of the other NPCs throughout the game.

    In the end, if you like the FC series, get this. If you are expecting a re-invention of the series and your hype levels are above 11, then go complain about something else, somewhere else.    … Expand

    I initially had some graphics problems, for some reason on ultra i got a bum frame rate despite having a 295x2, weirdly after altering it to very high and then manually adjusting individual settings back up to ultra I got it running at 60fps ave. all the time and looking damn fine.
    Cant recommend this game enough, if you are into grand theft style games or even if you just like Indo-Himalayan/Tibetan environments you will love this. Work of art!    … Expand

You can ride an elephant and shoot from an RPG at the same time, you can fly a helicopter and carpet bomb your foes with grenades. You can even ride a helicopter elephant, though I haven't tried but I wouldn't be surprised if you could. Get the game. Ignore the negative votes, those are from people who buy a game from Ubisoft and expect it to work within the first few months, some people just never learn.… Expand

Theres a lot of stuff to do but not everything is good, either way if you enjoyed far cry 3 you will enjoy this one as well.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I already wrote a review and that was after a few hours. A few ACTS (as there are Acts in the game, like some sort of play, which is a bit odd but nvm) in, and I'm slightly more reserved about what I think about FC4.
    What I liked to begin with was the music, the general theme of the game and the aesthetics were no surprise coming from Ubisoft, seeing as they've had experience in producing trees and mountainous terrain elsewhere before (gee, wonder how!). It's a very pleasant looking game, but after a few hours, the mountainous terrain becomes boring, if not tedious - because in FC3, all a lot of people found themselves doing was trying to get up hills they couldn't because their wasn't enough grass apparently, and Ubisoft, in their infinite wisdom, instead of fixing it, and giving the main character the equipment with which to properly climb mountains and seriously steep terrain, decided to chuck in the lesser-spotted anchor points for grappling hooks, and the rest is an abundance of terrain that no man, beast or vehicle can pass, except for a buzzer, which will - PROBABLY - go over it. Probably, because the buzzer, though it's a refreshing addition to the list of oft used vehicles that had already appeared before, has one godawful flaw - and that is a very low height ceiling. You can only go so high before it starts with the alarm and the slight spiralling out of control - and that's a little bit annoying, because it kinda takes the joy out of the wingsuit - jump out of the buzzer, hit the shift key, and off you go on a batmanesque trip over the hills and valleys, but not the mountains, you'll just get splatted.
    Then there's another problem with the game, and that is in the second act, you have to escape a labour camp/prison. You're unarmed, and until you can get a knife, you can't do ANYTHING to stop being shot at should you get spotted. There's none of this "let's give them some buttons to mash" mini-games about it, you just get shot to **** and that's it, you're done. That to me was a big let down, because surely you should at the very least be able to punch a chap when he's pointing something shooty at you. But no. You'll just end up dead.
    The game is good, to all intents and purposes it's pretty neat, but after a few hours it becomes tiresome and cliched, because it's been done already - FC3 was it, and you'd think they'd have added some pretty important features to the player's abilities in game, like being able to climb hilly terrain sans grappling hook anchor points - at least give us some climbing gear that lets us NOT use anchor points if we don't want to.
    Generally it's okay. If you absolutely love the FC franchise, there's no doubt in my mind you will probably love this game too - but even as a fan of the FC franchise (I have it all now) number 4 is good, but it feels like they've missed bits they really shouldn't have done. It's not an incomplete game in that respect, but it could well have been better. So it's gone from 10 to 8.    … Expand

    With 2x 980GTX and an i7 4790K I achieve 60 FPS at 1440p and it is terrific, a definite improvement over the already perfect original.     Since Skyrim I've wanted a wonderful world to explore. FC4 has given that to me and so much more. It is far better looking than the grey-white of Skyrim, the missions are better, there is a great dynamism to the game, even in single player mode. And the main character actually speaks!     En fin, un juego para que el busque acción desenfadada en un mundo gigantesto. Puro liberador de adrenalina con el mogollón de armas del que dispones.    … Expand

    If you have played far cry 3 then really no need to get this game. If not then you find a fun game that runs well and looks good even on lower settings. Mouse and keyboard work very nice and after trying DAI its a real treat to control. The auto drive is nice to use now and then. where I own 3 then a rating of 6.5 would be fair but counter the zeroes I will rate it 8

    You don't play Far Cry for the story ... and yet out of all of the series Far Cry 4 seems the most plausible. I mean seriously FC3, what were you thinking, even though this does have its moments that make you question if game developers take drugs. The story is passenger stuff, while not to involving it brings you for a ride.     No FC has always been about the beautiful locations, and the set of the Himalaya mountain range will leave you suitably impressed. Graphics are good with a great compromise between optimisation and quality which leaves AC:Unity in shame.

    While the gameplay is very much similar to all the previous in the series there is nothing much that I can say is wrong with FC4. Perhaps missions are a little bit repetitive towards the end, but still so much to do, and fun to have.
    If there is one criticism to be had ... are the endings, again in typical Far Cry fashion the Ubisoft always messes up the ending. While you can appreciate the Secret fourth Ending (Which I highly suggest after completing the game) the 3 proper endings leave a lot of questions unanswered, and worst of all just leave everything hanging. This something Ubisoft has never gotten right on any of the FC series, but I have to say overall it's the better, tighter story, and some points of interests ... Ubisoft you're getting better.

    There may be only one criticism... but there is one issue. Hunting animals, honestly I don't know how I should feel about this as part of the game requires you to hunt animals for their fur. Which is interesting from a moral perspective, on the one hand it's just a game, on the other I am still hunting the rare Asian Rhino just so I can have a bigger wallet. Honestly I don't mind having a cheap plastic one. The game its self tries to tone the issue down with hints that the in game animal populations are plentiful, as Kryat is over populated for the specific reason so hunters can pay for the privilege. "Not Endangered, just hunted for sport and their skin" So Ubisoft and Ubisoft Lawyers says that's ok. But honesty there is little part of me saying it's a little wrong for FC to keep doing this.

    Vehicle and weapons are good fun and there is a decent variety though you quickly find your favourites and stick with them. Vehicles are all right but feels like someone has sanded the tread off all the tires. The Buzzer is fantastic, a small helicopter, though it's annoy it has a ceiling height. Money can be earned too easily and you often end up purchasing all the weapons you'll every need from the outset. Outposts, Bell towers, and Fortresses are on the too ease side and still fun to play. NPCs have no concept of self-preservation as you pick off all his buddies as he stands around waiting for your line your sights up on his head.

    A few bugs and issues, but no game stopping problems. A lot of WTF moments, my favourite was when an eagle swooped down and took a goat into the air. "A momma's got to feed her babies...!"

    All in all a good game and a good improvement, Ubisoft keep it up you crazy people ...    … Expand

    Well, as a Far Cry 3 fan I have to say i was really looking forward to this game. I played it about half the campaign now, and it totally fulfills my expectations. The world is great, the characters are awesome, its just extremely fun to play! One thing to criticise ist the Story, which is a bit too similar to Far Cry 3. But with the new Himalaya setting and all the things to explore,Well, as a Far Cry 3 fan I have to say i was really looking forward to this game. I played it about half the campaign now, and it totally fulfills my expectations. The world is great, the characters are awesome, its just extremely fun to play! One thing to criticise ist the Story, which is a bit too similar to Far Cry 3. But with the new Himalaya setting and all the things to explore, places to go, the beautiful scenery combined with amazing graphics, ist worth to buy. All in all i can totally recommend giving it a try, both newcomers and Far Cry 3 lovers are definitely going to have fun with it!… Expand

    The gameplay is somewhat like fc3. But more exciting and fast paced. Always have to be alert and battle ready. Making different choices will change the course of the story. Graphics as usual is awesome. The explosion effect is very realistic. Good work from ubisoft (overlooking the **** they have made in Ac unity)

Something's gone very, very wrong. And I'm not alone the Ubi forums are crawling with players having the same issue. Some have had their support tickets open a week, with zero acknowledgement from Ubisoft. Not good enough for a game netting many millions of dollars for those involved.    … Expand

    Far Cry 4 takes the best bits of Far Cry 3, puts a new spin on them and drops its troubling racial politics and constrained mission design. The story and characters a bit more lightweight, but the core remains the same. Overall, this is a leaner, meaner Ubi-style open world experience and the best iteration on the franchise.

    With Far Cry 4 you get what you loved in Far Cry 3 - improved and with some innovations. Playability is great, but it will force you to think of the state of the game industry and everlasting urge of producers to cannibalize their own titles. [Issue#248]
