    This game is a masterpiece. I'm not a big fan of shooters, but this one... well, after long day at work I sit to this game and I just have FUN. A lot of great fun. This is a briliant mix of relaxing shooting and funny exploring. Always something to do. Many nice weapons, very good graphic, nice story. Many options which absorb You totally. This game is a MUST HAVE for everyone who like a good fun.

    Shooters besides open-world games should be taken somewhat 50 hours usually from me to involve over an experience. Far Cry 3 doesn't seem so much like 'fictional'-- [Impressive] Far Cry 3 nails to 'reality', 'Fun' rather than 'fiction' which is most likely joy and valid to anyone.

    Great and fun game but it's too short! i would give a higher score if the story was longer, but i still love it! I hope the next game has a longer story ;)

    This game is amazingly fun and incredible addictive but also there are few weaknesses

    This game is nearly perfect. Great graphics, sounds, gameplay. This game worth every bit of money you pay. But some missions are too hard. 8 out of 10.

    It's just a lot of fun. You think it would get boring after a while because it is repetitive but the game keeps you on your toes. It also has a very interesting bad guy.

    Far Cry 3 is the ultimate power fantasy, and I mean this as a compliment. Yeah, lots of games let you take back strongholds with bazookas and flamethrowers, but few offer an experience as smooth as Far Cry's. Combat is the perfect balance between stealth and firefighting, letting you sneak behind bushes or aim explosives at everything in sight. The hunting side quests are also a ton of fun.

    I liked this game, nice title by Ubisoft (company that i dont like too much). Funny, well-staged story and nice graphics. Hopefully continue on this path.

    [opinion only about the single player campaign] Although I despise open-world shooters, the game was enjoyable. I play games mostly for the story. Don't hate me, but I 'tweaked' it a bit (well, yeah, uhm... I cheated and got a lot of cash) to avoid the nonsensical side-quests and boring activities and focus on the plot, which by no means is great, but after all it is engaging. I kind of[opinion only about the single player campaign] Although I despise open-world shooters, the game was enjoyable. I play games mostly for the story. Don't hate me, but I 'tweaked' it a bit (well, yeah, uhm... I cheated and got a lot of cash) to avoid the nonsensical side-quests and boring activities and focus on the plot, which by no means is great, but after all it is engaging. I kind of liked the change in the protagonist, who grew to be the ultimate "waria", who got overly engaged with all the bloodshed and revenge. With the supernatural elements that can explain why a regular kid becomes an awesome commando-stalker-hunter, I actually felt like I should killing all those poor people. Most of the killing was pointless, but in this one case - it doesn't matter. Get some silenced guns, get a Desert Eagle and wreak havoc! That said, there is something wrong with the shooting mechanics themselves - they're not as fun as in other FPS, but clearly, this is a personal preference. The game looks and sounds great, the voice-acting is exceptional and there are some memorable characters. Don't hesitate and follow the path of the warria!… Expand

    this is one of the best fps games I've ever played but the end boss battle is too anti-climatic. graphics are amazing on low setting,nice gun-play,there are animals in this game too. good thing they made this game. It was worth playing it.

    This game is absolute awesome.The whole story line of this game is easily under stable.The visual graphic of the game is also promising.The open world that is provided in the game has each an every detailing.And there are many things to do in the open world including the missions.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Story driven game with breath taking surroundings. Handful of missions through the story really stood out and busted a hearty laugh of joy. A few minor bugs and hiccups occurred, mostly involving waterfalls, fire or waterfalls of fire.
    Highlights For Me:
    Have to say I had a connection with the bow. Hard to use at first at long distance but so worth it when you get the special tips. Rain fire down on outposts. BLOCK OUT THE SUN.
    The different tatu traits added a depth to the game that showed through the early gameplay. Fades away towards the end. If you collect the side items you can have all the skills by the end of the game.
    Villains make or break a game, that is a fact. You need to enjoy who your eventually going to end. Far Cry exceeds and making the villains in this game stand out. With enough insanity to make you laugh when you know you really shoulden't.
    Few minor flaws to point out:
    Character backstory was lacking. Why should I care about these people other then they are my "friends". Majority of the time when a name was mentioned I was pondering on who the hell they were. Having to go to the in-game handbook to match a face with a name.
    I was furious when I couldn't load a vehicle with C4 and ride it into a enemy outpost, jumping out before impacting and blowing the death trap. Leaving behind the bodies of my targets. But Nah. C4 just simply bounced off the vehicles or flew out when speeding.
    The Co-Op portion of this game was sadly a disappointment. Slew of glitches, bugs occurring every few minutes. Playing on hardest setting proved to be more annoying then cleaning the house. 1 shotgun blast from any direction was a instant kill, sometimes with that person appearing out of thin air. Background to characters was explained well before the game started. Something the main story was missing.
    Overall the game was great. Visually pleasing. Equally terrifying with jungle noises all around you. Screamed more times then I would like to admit when crocs would take a bit of my White Devil jungle conquering self.    … Expand

    Wasted Vaas was sent to trash. Whether Ubisoft someday make a game in Far Cry universe such as Far Cry 3 - the answer is no. And Vaas could be a main character in separate game about him or even a series of games, but, probably there isn’t.

But something I disappointed about the game that the Stealth Mechanics is not important, because you can go combat at anytime and you are hard to die.     I think developers who made this product, as told in Russia, - Beginning for health, ended for dying. Scenarios was good, if not one but. In the end, i felling something tired writers and developers, it is start near history of Sam. I seem that they don't have force ending game and they just fast release game, kinda tried take that, although that not able to take. In general, i don't like scene killed Hoy and Vaas. Take knife and kill them, when in first case, you stayed in house Hoy, where a lot of his security and in second case, Vaas stiks in your hurt knife and... you don't die. Why?
    These moments come me to though, that whole history in game it is just dream main hero Jason's. How still we can explain this situations? Remember, how Citra give sleep Jason's, when just blowing dust in his face, then when he wake up, he already keep knife directly at throat her girlfriend. It is be a few drug.
    Okey, we understood this. But that there with end history? All end very chaotically. I chose save my friend, and after Citra dead. CITRA dead! And what happened with our team? Nothing us let go home. Weird.
    Talking about skills, i have last level still before end game, far from end game. But okey, i do all tasks and collect many different trash, which give me exp. Knew, i real give satisfaction from this, before i had last level. Then me lose interest collect these things, and do more, then need.

    Now, i flow compliments. I love this game, really love. I complete this game for three days, opened all maps, performed all side quest and take all outposts. More satisfaction, i don't long ago. This place, this island were made genius people, it very beautiful and biggest. Gameplay marvelous. Graphic super. Scenarios good. Characters interested. In general, really cool game.
    But, sorta, you ask me, why marks 8. And i answered you, - because game wasn't exciting and fascinated from beginning to end. In the end i a little bored and i don;t have desire continue this game after passed. I like this world, but live there i don't want. How was in borderlands 2 (I understand that is bad compare, but anyway). Sorta, this game don't set this purpose, okey, then it deserve this marks.

It shares lots of the traditional Ubisoft game mechanics like climbing a tower to reveal part of the map, or having the chance to explore to know more about the story of the Island. Speaking about story, the plot of the game is not the best I've seen, at best is solid, but we forgive all its faults when we see that    1 – GENERAL

    Far Cry 3 is an open world FPS created by Ubisoft. It shares lots of the traditional Ubisoft game mechanics like climbing a tower to reveal part of the map, or having the chance to explore to know more about the story of the Island.

    Speaking about story, the plot of the game is not the best I've seen, at best is solid, but we forgive all its faults when we see that characters are well built and one of the villains is probably one of the all time greatest in videogames. Resumed, you are on vacations on an Island with your friends and you are caught by pirates. If you want to know more, just play the game.

    Graphics still old even from today's standards, but I've experienced a lot of framedrops after a nVidia update, later partially solved, but I still suffer from unexpected framedrops when driving vehicles. The world is not as beautiful as in Ghost Recon Wildlands, but is still very enjoyable to watch.

    Sound effects are well set together, but the NPCs have just a little amount of voicelines, so we spend most game listening to the same ones. The music is atmospheric, and it always sets a good mood for gunfights, despite that it changes when every NPC is dead, so we know when we can stop paying attention.

    2 – GAMEPLAY

    Most of the game fights are satisfying, guns are properly balanced and they all feel different and fun to play. We have to loot corpses and boxes to gather money to buy and upgrade weapons, but after a while they all become free at shops, so all money is only important until a certain part of the game, after that it just become useless.

    Most times you can approach a mission from more than one angle, and that's rewarding. Sometimes a mission has a small difficulty spike, nothing to worry about, but you end up going by trial and error, and eventually you end up doing the mission with just brute force.

    There's tons to explore in the islands, and also a lot to search and find. Interestingly enough the map is not packed full of repetitive missions that we have to do in order to develop our skills. I've mostly just done the main story and some sidequests, and I still progressed at a good pace. It took me about 20h to finish the story, I think that a completionist can take another 30h from the game, or even more, so the balance between story and repetitive sidequests seems to me spot on. Way better than actual games. Now is not common to say this, but thumbs up Ubisoft!

    3 – CONCLUSION

    I have three major problems with this game:

    Its peak is not the ending, but the killing of the firs villain;

    The best moments of the game are QTE, and that ruins the fun;

    Both endings are not very inspired.

    There's still some funny bugs, but none of those ruins the experience, they are just fun.

    Multiplayer is still active, even more than lawbreakers, but is not very interesting.

    So, do I recommend the game? OFC, it's a great game, that worth's the current full price, but is so easy to find it in a sale, that I recommend you to wait a bit of one of those.    … Expand

    Far Cry 3 is one of the most compelling stories of adventure on an island all to also explore the graphics sometimes leaves you speechless .
    The mobs are sometimes a bit ' repetitive

    As my first try into the Far Cry series, I found the open world elements extremely inviting and finding it very easy to become lost in the game itself as an adventurer. I'm not much a fan of the story, but found myself immersed within the environment. The game is truly unique and is worth a try to anyone thinking about it.

    8.8 - Really fun game, if you're into FPS games this is definitely one to play. With some nice graphics, Rambo style or stealth gameplay, cool music and awesome characters, this game is memorable on various levels.

    Pros:
    - Very comfortable gameplay. Aiming, running and crouching transitions feels smooth. Stealth is one of the best parts of the gameplay for me. The FOV works better than other games.
    - Melee kills :D
    - The islands and the variety of environments, caves, interiors, exteriors, on the sea, on the air etc.
    - The vehicles, the fauna.
    - The tagging system and the multiple approaches to one situation. Curious how much "MGS V The Phantom Pain" ripped of even from the UIs.
    - 38 main missions.
    - Hard mode is well balanced if you like stealth.
    - Vaas Montenegro, Sam Becker and the other characters. There're no tons of cutscenes but you feel every single one of them had some good moments.
    - Apocalypse Now references and of course "Ride of the Valkyries" haha! (now I wanna play Blood Dragon again!)
    - I find the voice acting very well done and natural for the situations each character goes through
    - Visually it looks amazing for its time and even for today's standards. Again...the island the vegetation etc...The character facial expressions are the bests from all Ubisoft games. Even secondary NPC's have good care in details and it's nice the few different kind of shaders like the glossy ones for eyeballs, the more anisotropic looking for hair, bamboo etc and the standard ones. About Ubisoft...personally I hate the work about this aspect in Assassins Creed games. Of course is a different team but a different engine. In this case Dunia Engine 2 which is very optimized and works outstanding.
    It's not a con but...The only bad thing that looks completely horrible are the cloud and atmospherics facing camera sprites. The can turn 180° too easy if you break its axis.
    - Every time you take a screenshot DOF bokeh looks natural (one of the few games did this on the 7th gen).
    - Oh! I forgot the OST with In-Game tracks from Die Antwoord, M.I.A., Skrillex and Noisia, Losers and The Glitch Mob for the trailers among others. Also the incidental tracks are outstanding. Another good one "I'm Sorry" by Brian Tyler.
    - Now that I play all Far Cry 3 I can say the game is not that far from the retouched screenshots Ubisoft always make public before releasing a game (without mention the E3 demonstration)

    Cons:
    - It rainned only once during my whole playthough.
    - I would love to had better side-quests. They're not bad but more of those related to the main campaign.
    - Who mapped the skills upgrades button to a "double click"? I thought the entire game skills were blocked and I ran through all the mess of explosions and bullets with only two health bars xD...in hard mode... OK, OK...mostly my mistake!
    - SPOILER ALERT! Killing Vaas before the end of the game and the lack of a cliche twist about him.
    - I can't confirm this but people say multiplayer is not that good.

    Is just will say that this game is very valuable.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Una aventura que nos hace sentir precisamente lo que pretende, sentir el miedo contra unos piratas e ir evolucionando a medida que pasa el tiempo y adquirimos habilidades.
    Con un villano muy característico haciendo uso de la locura y los trastornos psicológicos al mas puro estilo del Joker.
    Un mundo abierto muy nutrido de animales a los que cazar y con un gran número de enemigos a abatir que desafortunadamente disminuyen en el mapa a medida que capturamos campamentos, capturas cuyas recompensas en xp aumentan si aplicamos un factor sigilo a la operación, lo que evita que el juego sea un caos total, a menos que uno lo desee y entre a "saco" con un lanzallamas y un puñado de granadas.
    Como en la mayoría de juegos las misiones secundarías de caza, ayuda a miembros de la IA o misiones de busca y captura no son lo mas divertido del juego aunque en la mayoría de las veces no son solo excusas para alargar el tiempo jugable, si no que nos ayudarán a conseguir objetos exclusivos de esas misiones para mejorar nuestro equipo, aunque si nuestro propósito es divertirnos, el juego está repleto de lugares donde podemos ganar dinero en pequeños minijuegos tales como timbas de poker, lanzamiento de cuchillos o practicar la puntería con aves.
    Las posibilidades que ofrece a la hora de realizar cualquier tipo de acción son prácticamente infinitas, desde despistar enemigos con piedras a liberar a animales salvajes para que nos hagan el "trabajo sucio" pasando por una amplia gama de armas que están diseñadas para cada una de las situaciones pero que a la hora de matar piratas podemos usar de todas las formas polivalentes que se nos ocurran.
    La historia se desarrolla de una forma excepcional haciéndonos sentir perdidos o confusos cuando entramos a un templo ancestral o de repente conocemos a un viejo loco adicto a consumir sustancias alucinógenas. Nos hace sentir esa frustración de que Vaas (el villano) va siempre un paso por delante de nosotros y eso nos hace estar deseosos de llegar al siguiente nivel para ver en esa ocasión podemos cogerle desprevenido . Este juego tiene dos finales, los cuales desde mi punto de vista se podrían haber mejorado o incluso dar por terminada la historia en un punto anterior, aunque entiendo la decisión de poner esos dos finales ya que nuestro personaje sufre tal evolución, que pasa de ser un loco adolescente a un auténtico asesino de piratas.
    El multijugador no es un call of duty, pero tampoco creo que pretenda serlo, ya que utiliza habilidades y tiene un poco mas de importancia el juego táctico y calmado, en definitiva es una parte del juego que nos hace disfrutar y jugar con nuevas armas y accesorios cuando ya hemos exprimido el modo de un solo jugador.
    El modo cooperativo online es el que veo mas verde, lo veo bien para jugar con amigos pero no para jugar con gente desconocida ya que es muy importante el trabajo en equipo, las armas de tus compañero y el rol que coge cada uno en la misión, ademas a esto se le suma un pequeño número de misiones coop.
    Los aspectos mas resaltables del juego par mí son la inmersión en el personaje, la libertad que te ofrece el mapa y una linea de dificultad mas o menos ascendente ya que siempre tienes que estar atento a tu vida y las medicinas pero sobre todo el toque de locura que tiene este juego y que tanto nos gusta, el cual alcanza su punto álgido cuando tenemos que destrozar una plantación de marihuana y solo disponemos de un lanzallamas y un poco de música de Skrillex para quemar el recinto y llevarnos una buena fumada como recompensa.
    Los puntos negativos no tienen una gran relevancia en el juego pero aun así no está mal decir que el mapa de habilidades realmente no aporta al rol que vamos desempeñar ya que las podemos adquirir todas. La otra pega que tiene el juego es que a veces la inteligencia artificial puede resultar un poco mecánica, pero es entendible teniendo en cuenta el año de salida.

    Para mí un INDISPENSABLE en tu estantería si tienes una ps3/xbox 360/pc y el mejor de su saga.    … Expand

The Vaas character makes this game interesting early on and is pretty much wasted late game sadly, Fun sort of world to mess around and have shooty, bang, bang fun in. The wildlife tend to gank the player every five seconds or so though (argh). Peak Far CryRan ok on the 360, but ran really quite poorly on the PS4. PC is the definate way to play this at the best frames and draw distance. Firing isn't your everyday point-and-click; recoil is realistic and enemies don't take 20 shots to kill.     (Sure, the game favours the player by adding in some conveniences to make it easier to play, but if it was too realistic, it would probably turn frustrating and boring since you'd have to resort too much on stealth. And considering the scale of the game, that would be too much work for little reward.)

    Лучшая часть серии (ИМХО), много раз перепроходил, никогда не надоедает.
    Разумеется найдутся люди, которые будут негативно относится ко всем высоки оценкам этой игре, но мне всё равно, они меня не переубедят.

    Far cry 3 is a 3rd times the charm game , before far cry had very mixed opinions about it , far cry 1 being a weird mix of elements and far cry 2 had a few unique if divisive mechanics.     Story: the story is interesting its about adrian brody , stranded on an island "paradise" on a trip with a group of his friends and brothers when they get captured by a group of pirates for ransom. you escape with your brother only to have him get shot at the end of the escape. but the interesting part of the story is the duality of it. there is 2 sides or brody , the side that wants to go home safe and sound and the side that wants to live a warriors life and is getting use to the violence witch ends in a choice the player has to make and when i first played fc3 it took me by surprise. i cant get away without talking about vaas a great example of a great performance elevating not only a character but a game. from the stories iv heard vaas wasn't even gonna be in the game until they seen Micheal mandos audition and the devs were hooked. but this added to the duality of the game vaas being a foil to brody making mandos character elevate the game.
    Story 9/10

    World building: a little bit of a disappointment but world building is important all of the far cry games have been stand alone and far cry 3 is not much difference despite having a character carry over to the next few games almost all the world building is done by the environment and not by the lore and i guess to me i prefer lore over cool locations but good world building needs both not just 1.
    world building: 6/10

    Graphics: although this game is just now starting to show its age it still looks great the bright colours contrasts well will the violence. a lot of of the world building is done through its environment and with such a beautiful environment it makes taking in the world easier. the vacation esque style also adds to the duality of the game even the games ui keeps the duality in mind. far cry 3 looks better than some games that come out these days.
    graphics 9/10

    Game play: all of my gripes with far cry 2 have been ironed out in far cry 3 , i do have some gripes about fc3 but they feel nit picky (except for climbing towers to unlock the map that's just tedious ubisoft stop that) shooting feels excellent on every gun witch makes it exciting to unlock new guns
    the skills and perks are really fun , and alot of the change yup the game play a lot. witch made it extra fun to unlock perks , progressing in this game was FUN this game is fun i donno what else to say to do it justice.
    Gameplay 9.5/10

    Sound design: some great and mediocre voice acting performances. and some cool use of licensed music but not much of the rest of the sound track is memorable. guns sound punchy but a lot of them sound a little too similar but different enough i guess everything else in the game was given such a level of detail but the music and sounds fell a little flat for me.
    Sound design: 6.5/10

The sequel to Far Cry 2 was a very interesting take on the series that stayed around for a while. Far Cry 3 is a first person open world exploration game that puts you in the shoes of a college boy by the name of Jason Brody, where him and his other friends take a trip toFar Cry 2 was way ahead of it's time. With great gameplay running on a smooth and nice engine, Far Cry 2 was great. The sequel to Far Cry 2 was a very interesting take on the series that stayed around for a while. Far Cry 3 is a first person open world exploration game that puts you in the shoes of a college boy by the name of Jason Brody, where him and his other friends take a trip to Rook Islands for a vacation. Little do they know is that their is a group of terrorists called the Rakyat. Jason and his brother (And everyone else) are captured and are planned to be executed, but Jason escapes. Unfortunately, Jason's brother is shot and killed in the process. Then, it's your job to find all of your friends and escape from Rook Island. So, lets get down to business.

    The game is great overall, taking place in a tropical environment rather than Africa. The game runs on the Dunia engine and has a more of a bright and almost cartoony look. The gun selection is completely different from the previous installments; unlocking guns by switching beacon towers on rather than doing a mission. The guns are more modern and can now have attachments, varying between guns. The prominence of gun skins makes your arsenal better too. The map is much larger, and has more things to do in your spare time when you're not playing the main story. Hunting, exploring, Base Conquering, Beacon Towers, Treasure Hunting, Crafting, Harvesting, Upgrading, etc. The game has plenty to do, and there is always something new to do. The new upgrading mechanic is great. You earn upgrade points when leveling up, causing you to get tatoos on your body. The crafting mechanic is very cool too. This allows you to use your salvaged parts from animals you've skinned and the plants you've harvested to help you get better capacity, more guns, and healing and buffing syringes. The map is very large, allowing you to explore pretty much all of it from the beginning. Attacking and taking over beacon towers allows you to see more of the map in your start menu, allowing you to raid bases, see caves and treasure, and see where animals roam. Raiding bases allows you to do side missions and hunting missions, which rewards money and rare supplies. There are a few bad things about this game though. First off, the gun selection is solid, but it lacks in quantity, there is not much to choose from. There is also the game constantly reminding you to play the story, with notifications in the corner of the screen every 10 minutes. The Rakyat soldiers are everywhere, causing you to get shot or completely stopped in some cases, forcing you to kill them, which isn't bad, but when it happens more often than it needs to be, it gets annoying. Overall, the game is a solid 8 in my book. The game is great to try if you have the time. The game is very cheap, and you can get it in a pack, consisting of Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, all for $19.99 USD. So if you have the chance, definitely buy the game, it's a very great game that can keep you hooked for months.    … Expand

Одной из первых я выбрал именно Far Cry 3. Я очень много хорошего слышал о ней, но поиграть и пройти никак не было времени и желания. По началу вообще не заходило, играл по часу в деньВсем привет из 2020 года, на улице коронавирус и я попал в ситуацию, когда сломался монитор от компа и его просто негде купить, вот и риходится играть в старые игры, которые может потянуть мой ноут. Одной из первых я выбрал именно Far Cry 3. Я очень много хорошего слышал о ней, но поиграть и пройти никак не было времени и желания. По началу вообще не заходило, играл по часу в день заставляя себя силой,не мог понять механики прокачки и тд. пока не решил разобраться во всем этом и игра заиграла совсем другими красками, по итогу мне хватило менее двух дней, чтобы пройти ее полностью. Из плюсов это сюжет за исключением того, что Вас постоянно ловит тебя и никак не может убить, в какой-то момент это конечно доходит до абсурда, из любой веревки, ловушки наш герой по итогу выбирается. Очень понравилась сама боевка, обилие транспорта на дорогах, неплохой арсенал оружия и его модификаций. Открытый мир выглядит тоже очень круто, он живой, с врагами, дикими животными, змеями, пещерами и тд. Я продолжил играть даже после того, как прошел основной сюжет, чтобы освободить все посты и пройти дополнительные миссии. Как вы поняли завис я в игре часов на 100 так точно. За Саундтрек отдельный респект, это просто рай для ушей. Теперь из минусов, не смотря на крутую проработку часто встречаться косяки, то машина застрянет в текстурах, то еще что-то. Очень напрягало то,что постоянно приходилось лезть на вышки для того, чтобы открыть часть карты, при этом подъем разработчик старался сделать максимально сложным, сама идея хорошая, но можно было бы и сократить их количество. Что касается постов противника, то это отличная идея, единственное, что, как только в мои руки попала снайперская винтовка любой пост стал для меня максимально простым, почему враги узнал о том, что где-то из далека их потихоньку убивают не могут включить сирену, пока не обнаружат тебя? Это так и осталось для меня загадкой. Да и искусственный интеллект тоже не самый лучший, порой чувствуешь себя Рэмбо. Но в целом игра 2012 года, которая оставила столько эмоций и воспоминаний, особенно миссия с поджогом наркотиков, просто потрясающе. Но если бы не баги и провалы с текстурами, которые опускают тебя на землю и напоминают о том, что это компьютерная игра поставил бы крепкую 9, а так только 8… Expand

Big plus for that, there are mini events, like pirates captured several mens, and going to kill them. You have just seconds before that. Its inovating solution in the open world games. Many details are here, cutcenes are too well managed. Good thing to collectibles, too many relics to collect. And letters, if you want reveal the story of the island. Good at all. Sound are ok, and its changingw when you comes to the outpost. Very stealth music there. Little strategic sometimes with extreme actions, make it more enjoyable. For me, 8 score… Expand

    Far Cry 3 is one of the best games of 2012. I have to recommend Far Cry 3.
    The story is amazing - from the scratch you feel attached to the main character.
    But....if you like great graphics and sound: take FC 5.

Sequels did nothing but copy and paste the third game and could not carry the series beyond 2012.     O jogo é muito bom até o momento da morte do Vaas, a narrativa do Jason continua boa mas a repetição fica mais aparente ainda e o vilão (que me esqueci o nome) é um "downgrade" incrível quando comparado ao Vaas.

    I played this game for 2/3 days, just running and shooting and base-jumping. I like the story and graphics. It's one big awesome action movie adventure.
    The game play is also very good for a shooter. I do think it is a shame that they made this game so easy. I play every game on the hardest settings, because the game will last longer and gives you all it has got. Another thing I do not like it that the game stops and gives you nothing to shoot any more. Far Cry 3 was a welcome improvement over its predecessors, However, the game still suffers from the biggest game-breaking flaw that has plagued the series since the beginning: A large, beautiful environment with no rewards for actually exploring it. All of the weapons are available to the player for free, as long as they unlock radio towers, and the process of doing so requires no challenge. To make it worse, the player has unlimited, free access to previously-unavailable weapons after they pick them up from the corpse of a foe. Meaning if you just grabbed a shiny new gun from the ground, congratulations, you now have it an endless free supply of them, just like any other weapon you may have shelled out thousands of dollars for. There are hardly any unique side-quests worth going out of your way for, and they only reward you with money, which you'll find you have plenty of mid-way through the game. Money is almost worthless once you have all of the weapons readily available. The only purpose is buying the occasional much-needed health, ammo, or body armor. None of which (with maybe the exception of body armor) are difficult to obtain on your own. In fact, I have so many green leaves, which are use to craft healing items, that I had to sell most of them just because I needed the space, and I would never, ever need that much. There are other types of syringes, used for such things as boosting damage resistance to fire, and aiding your hunting and exploration abilities, however, they are unnecessary. Hunting isn't particularly difficult, and neither is combat, even on the most difficult setting. I could go on and on about why Far Cry 3 will not satisfy those who want a meaningful sandbox game, but if you are looking for a slick, fulfilling shooter game, you'll have a blast. Good controls is vital to great combat. Far Cry 3 rivals Max Payne 3 for having the most crisp, fluid controls of any PC game of 2012, even on mid-grade gaming rigs that can't quite run Far Cry 3 with optimal performance. The graphics are eye-popping; the water stands out. The many lakes, rivers, and waterfalls look incredible, especially when the sunlight shimmers along the top, and the bodies of your enemies float freely, slowly staining the teal-liquid red.

    In short ,Far Cry 3 fails to impress the adventurer in me, but the warrior in me hasn't been this impressed with a shooter since BioShock.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. *Some spoilers*: POINT ONE: Ubisoft, the grand masters of screwing legitimate buyers with stupid DRM force you to install "Uplay". It's another crappy attempt at selling their games direct. Who knows what it steals from your PC (thanks Origin). It also doesn't really work with Steam. You have to access the game through Steam, but it's not visible in Uplay if you launch it by itself.
    POINT TWO: This game has been out for almost a week, but Metacritic kept claiming there were 4 days til release. I can only assume that's either a tactic to bump up the (always) ridiculously high "professional" critic reviews, or the people running this website don't know what they're doing.
    POINT TWO: Remember Far Cry 2, and how annoying it was? Like the endlessly re-spawning enemies at roadside shanties? The guns that broke in half? The myriad pointless assassination missions? The fact that is was endlessly boring after a while? The malaria? Well, Far Cry 3 is Far Cry 2 with most of the annoying parts removed and set in a tropical paradise. That's not a bad thing, but it's also nothing particularly special. We've already seen it before. The engine is the same, the graphics are largely the same, the gameplay is largely the same. It's good, but not great. They obviously listened to everyone griping, and just re-wrote the same game. There's hang gliders everywhere, guns that don't break, stupid AI and no malaria. Okay, so the AI is lame in both games, but that's how it is these days.
    POINT THREE: The story is much more prominent, but very cheesy and lite. So cheesy, in fact, that it's laughable at some points. Some user reviewer here said the story had them in tears! Bwah hah hah hah! But seriously, there's mystic powers, a magical self-inking tattoo and islanders with strong New Zealand accents. The nerds who wrote the story for this game are spotty freaks who, well, can't write a story worth a damn.
    POINT FOUR: It's easy. I mean _very_ easy. There's all this RPG-style stuff going on in the background, like learning new skills, collecting things to make stuff, but it's all unnecessary. I mean _completely_ unnecessary. Some things might be handy, like making a holster from wild goats to carry more guns, but you get decent guns everywhere, so why bother? You can also make syringes of medicine, but I've never needed them. Since you don't need any of it to play the game, what's the point?
    POINT FIVE: The driving is hectic. Sometimes a little too fast and overly-responsive, and every car seems to spin out as soon as you press the button that controls the pedal (if you get what I mean). POINT SIX: Some fun side-quests: "trials" where you kill as many baddies as you can in an allotted amount of time, hunt down animals, hunt down baddies, deliver medical supplies etc. POINT SEVEN: The graphics are okay, but basically the same as Far Cry 2. There are some neat vistas to look at, but they're not as epic as Far Cry 2. There was something about the African savanna that tweaked my noodle. A tropical island is overdone. If only they had released a patch for Far Cry 2 that took out all the crap parts and made it a great game. Oh, wait, Far Cry 3 graphics. Right. yeah, they're okay. Intense colours, nice water effects, black shadows around all the NPCs. DX11 lighting effects and all the rocks shine.
    CONCLUSION: It's pretty good as a game and it's growing on me. It will keep you entertained for a while, but it's not what the hype says (it never is). Re-playability looks pretty good. My disappointment is more due to the fact that it's just a remake of Far Cry 2, which means we've seen this all before. Nothing innovative, a lame story and the horrible, unnecessary Uplay application from Ubisoft that you are forced to install. Besides that, people have claimed on the Steam forums that the game is an "amazing experience". No, it's not. Watching the sun rise in Turkey while on a backpacking holiday is an amazing experience. Skydiving is an amazing experience. Having a new-born child is an amazing experience. This is a computer game. Big difference. Having said that, there is fun to be had, and it's not a bad way to waste $70 and hours of your life.    … Expand

    There is no motivation to explore, as you never get anything besides money (presuming you manage not to run around with a full wallet) and junk.     The requirement to craft bags and stuff, makes it pretty tedious. You don't need medicine at all, as they're just bonus buffs and it's not like you need health pots as you can always just duck around a corner and heal with your basic heal instead of instantly with a health pot, this is a FPS not Diablo.
    The regular enemies and allies are just clones of eachother. They literally have like a couple face variants being repeated over and over and they're all just regular humans.

What bothers me the most though is all the druggy crap and the perpetual swearing of every character in co-op. It really becomes unnecessary after a while and actually annoying. I know the villain is basically a drug dealer, but I don't want the entire game to be Jason getting high to get in touch all his spirits and stuff like that. Looks like developers was exhausted all ideas they introduced in first part of the game. The difficulty level increases too much for me, its became irritating - despite I was playing on hard on 1st island I cannot handle easy mode on 2nd (maybe I was tired of the game). What you are left with is a fully revealed, boring region with no enemies left, nothin much to do and like 100 crates scattered around the region waiting for you to get picked up to fill your pockets. Yes and that it is pretty much it. Graphics are decent, game is pretty much free of bugs and working fine, Vaas is fun. So i can not really call it horrible. Got it for 30 Euro in Steam sale, thats O.K.. Expected it to be overated and not worth a 87% metascore before buying it, so i did not get too disappointed.… Expand

I don't think so. Although, I admit I'm not mad either. Think of it as Far Cry 2 with a face lift. If you've played that, then you'll get the feeling of doing pretty much the same thing as before. As a matter of fact, it feels so much the same, you may want to ask yourself if you're in the mood to play Far Cry 2 again. They added a few things. If you want to carry more... bigger wallet, bigger rucksack for items, bigger ammo case etc., you hunt animals and skin them. That was fun, but It took about an hour and I had pretty much upgraded everything. I started gathering items and cash, but here's something I found odd. As in Far Cry 2, you had to quest to make more items available. No problem. In Far Cry 3, you unlock radio towers. But here's the catch, the items aren't only unlocked, they become free. So I'm walking around with a stuffed $6,000 wallet and I've already got everything and not a single reason to loot dead bodies or pick up cash. Modifying weapons cost a little, yeah, but upgrading your favorites only takes a second and your done. Now I'm thinking, what do I do now? In other words, in two hours, there may be plenty to explore, but no reason to do it!

    Skills are boring too. The standard ones that increase health are obviously important but the rest are more like "skills of convenience" if you know what I mean. There aren't any you feel like you really want. I've got fifteen skill points and I don't even care. There's nothing there beyond increasing health and a couple of other ones that make a difference. The rest? zzz zzz.

    So what's the verdict? Is it worth playing? I'm not finished with it and I will finish it... eventually. Games that get the ratings this one got are supposed to lock you in front of your computer and not set you free until you've savored every morsel. This one? It's like going to a buffet where all the items taste pretty much the same. You'll play it maybe because your hungry but you won't really care what you want next.

    As a side note, it may be worth waiting for because there are a few bugs on the pc version. It stutters like a dog unless you can get fps over 60 on the low end. I've got an Intel 3820 oc'd to 4.2 ghz and an Nvidia gtx 680 and need to run on medium settings. I had to get the top fps to about 115 for the normal buttery smoothness I'm accustomed to. And that's borderline. If I even turn on anti-aliasing to any degree, I have to reduce the graphics to low, so I settled for medium and no AA. You can google "Far Cry 3 stuttering" for more info.

    The game has value. Think of it like Santa putting a Bugatti Veyron in your drive way but then discover the only place you can drive it... is around the block. It's fancy, but the track is the same.    … Expand

Unfortunately, the missions that follow the main plot line fall into a rote, scripted manner, and most of the time put a blaring timer on top of the screen, breaking all the amazing illusions created by the game world. One thing people may gloss over - the writing and characters are, at times, offensively bad. I think I speak for many when I say that overused stereotypes of the "white man saving the indigenous people" trope is obvious and tired. And seriously, **** Vaas. Try harder Ubisoft, seriously. (Quoting Alice in Wonderland throughout was another misguided creative attempt, I felt.) There is a lack of creativity with the entire setting and modern day milieu, and it doesn't interfere entirely with main feel of the game, but it does stifle what could have been.     Far Cry 3 is a classic shooter at its core, but there are various RPG mechanics, skills and upgrades under the hood. It’s a fabulous playing ground and one can but marvel at the wondrous ways the various elements interact with each other. [January 2013]
